3. ONE CONTENT
What authors who are good marketers do
is distribute their content well.
They have excerpts from their book and
write it as quora answers, write it as blog
posts, talk about it in podcasts which in
turn make people buy their book.
They make these books into a video
format for people who like to watch than
read.
4. USE PLATFROMS WHERE
STORIES ARE APPRECIATED
Facebook is mostly visual. But quora is more of text. You're an
author, use your words. Some tips for quora.
Use content that tells a story, a personal story.
Personal stories of great experience or struggle do well
on quora.
Be a resource champion or a person with advice in
lists. People appreciate a person who collates
resources and also gives advice in simple lists.
Engage well with top influencers, there is often a lot of
chit-chat with influencers which puts your name out.
5. USE NEW PLATFORMS WHICH
ARE RISING
It's true that old channels keep performing lesser over
time.
Use newer channels like Medium to build an audience
faster and have lesser competition compared to other
channels.
@gregmeunder is a marketer who wrote an entire book on
medium and sold it through Gum Road.
6.
7. USE DATA
Use A/B testing to find out which of you ad performs batter,
with what images and at what time.
Figure out what channels work for you. If it's advertising,
content marketing, interviews etc.
Set-up landing pages and see which performs better. Testing
all the time is the key to long term success of your initiatives.
8. USE TOOLS
Buffer for automatic social media posting across multiple
channels
Google scholar for research on your topic
Ruzzit to find the most shared content on the web.
Pay with a tweet for referral marketing
Some Examples
9. COLLABORATE
Collaborate with other authors to double the efforts in
marketing and making content faster.
Tie-up with a marketer and play to your strengths(Writing)
Collaborate with popular websites and do book give away's to
their audience.
10. LEVERAGE OTHERS' TRAFFIC
Comment on other people's blog posts about your content,
subtly without spamming.
Write guest-posts and make infogrpahics for popular
websites in your niche and ask them to link to you.
If you mention an influencer in your book, tag that influencer
on twitter and ask them if they can re-tweet you. This works
with influencers who aren't celebrity influencers.
12. INFLUENCER MARKETING
More often than not, influencers have courses, podcasts and
books. Use these ways to connect and engage with them as
you are their customer.
After forming a rapport with your influencer, tell them you
have benefitted immensely through their content and used
your learnings in your new book.
Give them a template for promoting your book and request
them to share it across their channels.
