About Communication
• Two-way process of reaching mutual understanding, in which participants not
only exchange (encode-decode) information, news, ideas and feelings but also
create and share meaning. In general, communication is a means of connecting
people or places. In business, it is a key function of management--an
organization cannot operate without communication between levels,
departments and employees.

1st Agreement :Be Impeccable with Your Word
• Impeccability means “without sin.”
Impeccable comes from the Latin pecatus,
which means “sin.” The im in impeccable
means “without,” so impeccable means
“without sin.”
• Be impeccable with your word. This is the
first agreement that you should make if you
want to be free, if you want to be happy, if
you want to transcend the level of existence
that is hell. It is very powerful. Use the word
in the correct way. Use the word to share
your love.

• Nothing others do is because of you. What
others say and do is a projection of their own
reality, their own dream. When you are immune
to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t
be the victim of needless suffering.
• Each person sees the world in a unique way, the
way that others treat us says as much about
them as it does about us. To not take anything
personally is to acknowledge the unique
identities of other people. We respect their
subjective realities, realizing that their views do
not necessarily describe us accurately.

• Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really
want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid
misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one
agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4th Agreement : Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from
moment to moment; it will be
different when you are healthy as
opposed to sick. Under any
circumstance, simply do your best,
and you will avoid self-judgment,
self-abuse and regret.
