The Egyptian Temple of Edfu was constructed on the bank of the Nile in Egypt. Ptolemy III ordered its construction, which was finished in 237 BC under Ptolemy IV. The architect Imhotep designed the temple in a rectangular structure, with an open courtyard, hypostyle hall, inner hypostyle hall called the Festival Hall, hall of offerings, peristyle hall, sanctuary, library, and birth house temple for Horus the Falcon god. The temple was constructed from stone and granite, standing 37 meters high with 12 columns, using simple machines like the wheelbarrow and pulleys.
