довкілля від пластикового сміття; сприяти розвитку вміння спілкуватися про
проблеми довкілля та шляхи їх розв'язання; сприяти вдосконаленню техніки
читання; сприяти розвитку вміння сприймати на слух; сприяти розвитку вмінь
усного продукування та взаємодії; сприяти вихованню розуміння важливості
захисту довкілля.
Компетентності: предметні – вміння розповідатипро проблеми довкілля та
шляхи їх вирішення, писати план захисту довкілля від пластикового мусору;
ключові – вміння аналізувати причини проблем і генерувати ідеї для їх
розв’язання (ініціативність та підприємливість), екологічно мислити (екологічна
грамотність та здорове життя).
Обладнання: презентація, ілюстрації з теми «Охорона навколишнього
середовища», мультимедійні засоби.

Привітання
T: Good morning, boys and girls. Nice to see you. I hope you are in a good
mood. I think it’s a good idea to inspire each other and say pleasant words to your
friends. So make compliments.

T: I’m sure that after such words you’ll work much harder to prove it.

T: Today we’ll speak about environment, ecological problems and ways to
protect the environment. The topic of our lesson is “Break free from plastic. The Earth
is in danger.”
Look at the pictures and quotations on the blackboard.
“The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth” (American Indian
Chief Seattle)
“Our mother planet is showing the red warning light, “Be careful” she is saying
“To take care of our house” (Dalai Lama)
People have made a mess in nature: polluted air, soil and water; chopped and
burnt trees; killed animals; learned to use nuclear power. It is clear that not only nature
is influenced by the changes of the modern world, but people health is as well.
Everybody wants to be healthy, so we need to take care about our environment. The
Earth needs our help.

which is plastic packaging.
Together with the Break Free From Plastic movement, Greenpeace made the
project, collecting garbage in 42 countries on all six continents.
We bring to your attention the top 5 companies that produce the most plastic

T: We know that environmental problems are found across the all planet. Once
discarded candy wrapper can create a big problem. Let’s read the dialogue about how
little human habits can lead to global problems.
Jane: Look at the beach! How awful!
Lisa: Oh, what a shame! I was looking forward to a day by the sea.
Jane: It looks like the rest of the world had the same idea – look at all that rubbish!
Lisa: It’s disgusting. People shouldn’t leave there rubbish behind. They should take it
home in a bag.
Jane: Yes, or the council should provide bins.
Lisa: I know! Let’s get some rubbish bags from the supermarket and clean this lot up.
Jane: Oh, do we have to?
Lisa: No, we don’thave to, but I think we should.
Jane: That’s right. You know what they say – if you’re not a part of the solution, then
you’re part of the problem.
T: What ecological problem is showed in the dialogue? What people can do for keeping
the beaches clean?(rubbish, land pollution)
Every problem can be solved. What people must or mustn’t do in relation to the ecology
we can find out doing exercise.
Fill in what we must or mustn’t do in relation to the ecology:
1. We must recycle paper, glass, etc.
2. We mustn’t pollute rivers.
3. We must use only unleaded petrol.
4. We must protectwildlife.
5. We mustn’t destroy rainforests.
6. We mustn’t drop letter on beaches.
7. We mustn’t let factories pollute the air.

Instead of plastic, I choose eco-bag
The use of packets leads to the fact that they fall into rivers and oceans, where
decomposes tens and hundreds of years. If they find themselves in a waste incinerator,
then during the burning they pollute the air.
So, try not to use plastic bags, it is better to buy your eco-bag. But the cotton bag
will receive an ecological status only if you use it 200 times or more.
I prefer ceramic cup
Minimize the use of disposable things such as glasses, mixers, plates, etc.
Remember that wood is renewed for almost 100 years.
So when you go for coffee to a machine or water to a cooler, take a favourite
cup with you.
I carefully choose householdappliances
Before buying detergents, be sure to pay attention to their composition and
carefully read the instructions. Do not use means containing chlorine, phosphates and
phosphonates - these substances are hazardous to the environment and often to human
health.
Use batteries instead of accumulator
Batteries cannot be thrown into ordinary rubbish. One such mini-chemical bomb
is able to pollute a square meter of soil with heavy metals. At the landfills of one big
city, more than 15 million batteries are found each year. A battery that has a resource of
up to 3000 times-a-bits and saves the same amount of batteries for the period of its
operation.
I rent the waste paper
To make 60 kg of paper cut 1 tree. Try to pay by electronic money and use
economical methods of printing and copying documents (on two sides of the paper), and
all the unwanted paper is taken for recycling.

- Buy products with as little packing as possible.
- Buy fruit and vegetables from farmers who don’t use chemicals. Grow our
own fruit and vegetables.
- Save as much water as possible. We can use rain water for washing cars or
watering the garden.
- Save paper and wood. Use rubbish again after recycling.
- We can use bicycles instead of cars.
- Gather rubbish near our houses and school.
- Throw trash potato skins, bottles, candy wrappers, broken glasses, ice-cream
wrappers in a big dust bins.
- To keep rivers and lakes clean.
- Plant trees and flowers and water them. Remember that many wild flowers
have become rare species in our forests. Many of them are registered in the
so called «Red Book».
- Don’t do harm to the forest, don’tmake fire there.
- To feed birds and animals in winter, make bird houses.
- Don’t make a lot of noise. Remember that loud sounds can hurt people’s
health.
- We can recycle boxes and plastic bottles and other materials.

T: Close your eyes. You are in your boat now in the middle of the water. Look
around. What is it? It may be a pond, a lake, a river, a sea, an ocean. The water is calm
… You are moving slowly … You are feeling calm … Your face is calm… Your body
is calm … your arms are calm … Your legs are calm …Now you are coming back.
When you hear five, open your eyes.

If I were the mayor of my town I would:
- move the metallurgical plant beyond the town limits;
- punish those who break the law of ecology;
- put ecological protection under local government control;
- make the problem of recycling a duty of every enterprise;
- find money to put them into modern filter pollution monitoring systems;
- close some harmful factories;
- organize meetings of protest in front of government building;
- ban cars because the cause too much air pollution;
also improve public transport;
- create special parks where these animals could live safely;
- stop logging companies from destroying forests

Tiger T: Today we’ll speak about environment, ecological problems and ways to protect the environment. The topic of our lesson is “Break free from plastic. The Earth is in danger.” Look at the pictures and quotations on the blackboard. “The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth” (American Indian Chief Seattle) “Our mother planet is showing the red warning light, “Be careful” she is saying “To take care of our house” (Dalai Lama) People have made a mess in nature: polluted air, soil and water; chopped and burnt trees; killed animals; learned to use nuclear power. It is clear that not only nature is influenced by the changes of the modern world, but people health is as well. Everybody wants to be healthy, so we need to take care about our environment. T: What ecological problem is showed in the dialogue? What people can do for keeping the beaches clean?(rubbish, land pollution) Every problem can be solved. What people must or mustn’t do in relation to the ecology we can find out doing exercise. Fill in what we must or mustn’t do in relation to the ecology: 1. We must recycle paper, glass, etc. 2. We mustn’t pollute rivers. 3. We must use only unleaded petrol. 4. We must protectwildlife. 5. We mustn’t destroy rainforests. 6. We mustn’t drop letter on beaches. 7.
