"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

Plastic waste information power point
1. By: the exhibition group composed by Federico de Lima,
Juan Felipe Gutiérrez, Juan Felipe Rueda and Santiago
Cuello.
2. This power point is for each one of you to
undersatnd the global problem of plastic waste,
with the previous inquiry we did in our exhibition
inquiry process.
You will learn things such as the the impacts and
problems that plastic waste generates, possible
solutions tp the problem and the benefits of
reducing plastic waste, in addition things like how
is the problem like, or why is it like this.
3. Loi 1: An inquiry into
the impact of plastic
waste in our
community
Plastic waste generates a very big impact on
our community, with our research we can say
it is a bad impact, some of the problems
generated by plastic waste may affect us
such as toxics and chemicals released by it,
also pollution, in addition plastic waste
occupies many space, finishes with our
green space, also we are destroying
biodiversity, waste of plastic left on the of the
lack of education, most of people are not
interested on plastic waste, because they do
not care about the problem until it affects
them, they mostly do not care about other
species, even if there are 5 plastic islands in
the world the biggest is 2 times as big as
Texas, the group has seen that plastic sea is
killing many animals, and the pollution in the
air generates acid rain, which is very
dangerous for us, the group thinks that this is
a problem generated because waste has
made our environment polluted and our city
dirty, it is a global problem which does not
only has an environmental impact on our
community, but people are affected socially
because of the multiple problems generated
by it, also it has an economical impact,
cleaning plastic waste takes many money
and an example of people wasting money
buying plastic, is people buying many plastic
bottles instead of a thermos and reusing it.
4. Loi 2: An inquiry into the possible solutions to
the problem of plastic waste
Conclusion:
To solve the global problem of plastic waste, the group thinks that people n
the world are giving positive solutions which have an economic, socila and
enviormental impact, some of these solutions are applied to solve the
problem, but some people are just lazy to apply it. Some solutions could be
to use a thermos instead of buying plastic bottles, it will save you money
and plastic, other solution could be to separate the rubbish, you can help to
recycle, help the recycler and people and even earn money. Other solution
is to buy biodegradable plastic products, which do not end up polluting or
killing animals by them eating it. You can reuse plastic in many ways to
reduce plastic waste, even doing a lamp as a complex thing or simple things
such as reusing bags or bottles. Definitely the best solution to the problem is
the education, is the way of teaching all this solutions.
5. Loi 3: An inquiry
into the benefits
of reducing
plastic waste.
Conclusion:
The benefits of reducing plastic waste
would be mainly stopping with all our
problems, we would have a better health,
no toxics or chemicals, nether pollution or
faeces material which plastic contains, and
is bad for our health. We would have a
better planet, no animals would die, we
would have cleaner rivers, oceans, lakes,
more green spaces and very good natural
resource, we would learn to be sustainable
and be better people with more knowledge
of how to solve problems, we would save
money, there would be less people
affected, plastic islands in the sea would
be reduced. People will have a cleaner air,
with no acid rain, danger will be reduced,
we would be aware of reusing, reducing
and recycling, the planet will be happy and
us too, we would save many energy and
use it for other causes.Generally we would
have a longer, more productive and better
life which we can enjoy.
6. Facts
o In each second there are thrown 1,500 plastic bottles to the
sea.
o In a day there are consumed 60,000,000 plastic bottles in the
US.
o There are 5 trash islands and 80% of them are made of plastic.
The biggest is two times as Texas and scientists say that in
2018 it will be as big as Canada.
o With the bottle caps you can make artificial wood.
o The Colombian football shirt is made of recycled plastic nylon.
o With the amount of oil used to produce just plastic bottles in the
U.S. you could fill a million cars
o Students in primary waste up to 1.718.600 pesos in one week
to buy plastic bottles of juice, water, soda etc.
7. Our interviews and survey.
We interviewed the school recycler Jose
Feliciano and to the administrator of
Ekored a recycler company called Leidy
Viviana.
We did surveys in the classes
of 2C,3B,4C,5D and three
people that wanted to do.
We wanted to tell you from
what we learned that for
you to help recycle plastic,
clean it, for example in the
case of a bottle take out all
the liquid and the paper,
throw it in the blue
container so it is easier for
the person who separates
the rubbish to recycle.
We learned in our surveys
what many of the students
of primary knew for us to
do our action, many of the
children did not take care
of the 3R`s or knew what
was plastic waste, we knew
the problem of plastic
waste was created
because of the lack of
education.
8. Photos Ekored and surveys
charts
y Do you do any of
them, if so which
ones?
9. Drinking
water
fountain
As part of our action we
decided to talk to the school
administrators for them to
put a drinking fountain in the
cafeteria, this is for the
students to save money by
using a thermos instead of
buying a bottle each day, this
will also reduce plastic waste
and help the environment
and school, we want each
one of you to try and use a
thermos or buy one bottle
and refill it with water to
make a social, environmental
and economic impact.
10. Plastic waste have made a big impact on our
society , enviorment and an economical way. It
has damaged our world by the pollution and
multiple problems it has created such as the toxics
and haved increased and is increasing at this
moment . We are trying to make a difference but it
starts by you. It has made many different things in
our world and in our society, like it has killed many
animals, also affected humans and their
environment so it has made a big change, also it
has many different chemicals that can make
people have diseases, and it`s polluting our world
and mostly the sea.
