This document summarizes a student's research project on the environment. The student conducted surveys of students from different countries to understand attitudes towards recycling, reusing, and trash. Key findings include that over half of respondents sometimes litter but also enjoy participating in environmental cleanups. Most believe recycling can help reduce global warming. The majority sort trash and reuse old items. The student's research aimed to show common environmental problems across Europe and how countries differ in addressing these issues, with the goal of learning better ways to reduce waste and pollution.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

3. The Earth is the only planet
out of 8 which has life on it.
We, the humans, have made
ourselves the kings of the
world, we sometimes think
that the Earth belongs to us,
we can use all what the Earth
gives and do not give back
anything. The results of
these misdeeds are air
pollution, global warming
and rise of water level,
greenhouse effect, animals
and plants in danger of
extinction, deforestation.
4. So what do we do wrong?
How to stop it? What can
personally we do to
change the situation? I
want to get the answers to
these questions.
5. THE FIRST WAY HOW TO PROTECT THE
NATURE :
Recycling involves the
collection of used and
discarded materials
and processing these
materials and making
them into new and
valuable products.
Recycling turns
materials that would
otherwise become
waste into valuable
resources
6. Studies have revealed that only
7%- 15% of the waste is recycled.
This percentage could be higher
and should be elevated by simple
activities like offered below.
Plastic bottles also can be
recycled and remade into new
plastic vases or play cards for
kids. Such a deed reduces the
use of energy and materials.
Plastic items that are not recycled
but remain on the ground do not
decompose; they stay forever and
make our picturesque
environment less attractive.
Even the most useless things can
be fashionable daily items.
Maybe it sounds difficult and
too hard, but it is not. All what
is necessary – do not throw
away things that can be
recycled
7. Reuse- use again the
materials in their
original form instead of
throwing. then we will
stop or at least reduce
this process of
damaging the
environment. The most
effective way to reduce
waste is not to create it
at all. By reducing and
reusing, we can save
natural resources and
reduce waste
management costs.
Recycling is very
important, but even
better is reusing.
8. T
y
The principle is to take
an old, unnecessary
thing and turn it into
a new and useful item
It could be not useful
for you, but for others
it could be pretty
necessary, as the
saying goes” one
man's trash is another
man's treasure!” So
we should appreciate
even less valuable
9. These activities are good for the environment,
because they can reduce our nature problems
like:
○ Trash
○ Pollution
10. TRASH
Trash, litter, waste,
rubbish, garbage are
synonyms, they
have similar
meaning but with
some slight
differences.
They harm the
environment. They
are spoiling it
Trash is an ordinary
thing, we face every
day at home, school,
workplace, streets of
the city. Trash comes
from all kind of paper,
broken things, old and
useless lumber, that
people throw away
and assume no
responsibility what
will happen next to
them.
12. A QUESTIONNAIRE
I made a questionnaire about recycling,
reusing and trash and gave it to
students of different countries (55
respondents from Poland, Italy,
Romania, Latvia) to answer. I will
present some results about how
much we care about our planet .
13. QUESTION : DO YOU SOMETIMES THINK
WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH TRASH WHICH IS
ON THE GROUND?
The results of the survey show that
unfortunately more than a half of the
respondents do not think what will happen
with the garbage.
14. QUESTION : HAVE YOU EVER PARTICIPATED
IN JOINT WORK FOR CLEAN ENVIRONMENT?
It is clear that more then a half
likes to participate in joint works.
15. QUESTION : HOW OFTEN DO YOU HONESTLY
THROW TRASH ON THE GROUND?
Nobody is perfect, and can admit, that not
always we have enough patience to find a
trash bin.
16. QUESTION : DO YOU THINK RECYCLING WILL
HELP TO STOP GLOBAL WORMING?
yes
65%
no
29%
not
really
2%
maybe
4%
Respondents who do not believe or are skeptical
about recycling say that this process also
involves manufacturing that causes smoke,
fumes, uses natural resources and energy. But
they all admit that recycling is less harmful than
producing brand new items.
17. QUESTION : DO YOU ALWAYS SORT THE
RUBBISH?
YES
44%
NO
31%
often
11%
sometime
s
14%
Other
25%
Luckily most of them sort the rubbish. We must
admit that not all have possibilities and
opportunities to sort the rubbish.
18. •QUESTION :DO YOU REUSE OLD/
UNNECESSARY THINGS?
YES
91%
NO
9%
Reusing is really popular, almost all the people
(91%) reuse old things. 5 respondents who
claimed that they do not reuse maybe did not
think well and long enough, otherwise they could
have remembered that they most probably at
least once in their lives have given a second life
to items.
19. There was an e-twinning project
Recycle- reuse- redo- respect.
We were 8 schools from 8
different countries- Romania,
Poland, Italy, Portugal, France,
Turkey, Greece and Latvia. And
during the project we had to take
photos with all kind of trash.
PROJECT
20.
21. As I have mentioned before,
people keep on throwing trash
away and do not take any
responsibility for that. They
even do not think what could
happen if nobody picks these
things (trash) up and they stay
on the ground forever.
22.
23.
24.
25.
26. We can learn from
them how to
recycle trash and
do not pollute the
environment.
27.
28. CONCLUSION
This research work is a summary of the etwinning
project- Reuse- Redo- Respect. I wanted to show
that we all (in European countries at least) have
similar problems with the pollution but the ways
how to deal with the pollution differ. We could
learn from each other how to reduce the waist
and stop global warming. I wanted to find out
about people’s attitude towards these issues.
The aim of this research work was to find out how
people harm the nature and what are the
possibilities to recycle and reuse old,
unnecessary items.
