- 3. Themes Some of the main themes in the documentary were murder, religion, crime and the influence that Marilyn Manson had on the youth, also the influence of the media is shown and youth culture. The theme of Good vs. Evil is shown and god and the devil.
- 4. Narrative Structure The narrative style is a one story documentary, it also includes a narrator and translation from Italian to English. The documentary also includes elements of a complex narrative and a circular narrative. It is a very open narrative as it does not give a clear answer as to whether Marilyn Mason was the reason for the three girls committing the crime.

Camera Work The use of a talking head shot can also be seen, alongside the rule of third shot which was mostly shown in the interviews where the interviewee was shown to the left or right side and not looking directly at the camera. Close ups and medium close ups can also be seen which enable us to see the facial expressions of the people being interviewed easily.

- 9. Editing The pace of editing changes regularly throughout the documentary changing from a fast pace at intense moments to a slow pace at more emotive moments. There is a common use of cut away and this can be seen through the use of A roll and B roll which enable a cut away as A Roll is the main documentary and B roll enables a cut away to be used, this allows for a seamless look. There is a use of slow motion when Marilyn Mason is in concert as this enables the audience to see what his concerts are like with ease.
- 10. Archive Material The use of footage before the documentary was filmed can be seen to show the town. Also, footage of Marilyn’s concert is shown. Furthermore, news reports are shown alongside some of Marilyn’s music videos. Moreover, the press conference footage is also included.
- 11. Graphics Titles can be seen such as at the start and also throughout the interviews to show who is being interviewed this being lower third titling. Also, the lyrics to one of Marilyn’s songs are shown and the subtitles of the translation. The use of graphics is limited throughout the documentary.
