2. Wide shot – Establishing
This shot is a wide shot a wide shot usually sets the scene and
where about they are. In this shot it establishes that they're
now in the car on the way home.
3. Fast editing - Car Crash Scene
The crash is a fast cut to make the scene look dramatic and real it only last 7
seconds in total but has many sequences as it is a big crash that kills Sarah's
husband and daughter but it slowly zooms out from a birds eye view to
show everything that has happened and create a dramatic end to the
scene. The shots only last a couple of seconds to fit in the fast shots of the
crash then the poles flying into the front window.
4. Slow cut editing
In this over the head shot from the daughters head just over the shoulder of
the mother showing the bond between each. This shot lasts for about two
seconds and is calm and slow shot because nothing is happening. It then
goes into another shot and a conversation starts.
5. Conversation shot
The conversation shot lasts for a minute and is slow cut because it is a
conversation between to people and cut every time a person speaks if it was
fast it wouldn’t make sense. It makes the crash more dramatic because it
switches to a fast cut from a slow cut.
6. CGI
This shot is shortly after the crash with the van with poles on top of it which
fly off and go through the front window killing Jessica and Paul. The poles are
CGI, Which are computer generated. The windscreen is also fake.
7. Editing Pace
The first half of the film while they are driving is calm and normal pace while
they are having a conversation however it speeds up in the accident so the
CGI effects of the poles look more realistic.
8. CGI/Editing
This shot is taken from a crane as it slowly zooms out and
transitions into to a fade of black. The blood running from under
the wheel is computer generated and shows us that Jessica is
dead.
