Linear Regression Line
Next the linear regression line is the line that finds the average of all x coordinates and the
average of all y coordinates to create a linear formula that shows the direction of the points and at
which intensity the slope of the data is. The equation for finding the slope of the data provided is
seen on the right and the variables include, the correlation coefficient, and the standard deviation
of x and y. This shows us the correlation of any two plot points. If the slope is higher then it
shows a more positive correlation and if the slope is a large negative then it shows a negative
correlation. How true the correlation is must be referred back to the correlation coefficient. The
higher both of them are means the validity, reliability,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The correlation coefficient was .11 which suggested that there was a slight correlation between the
two variables. This was not as strong as I expected to find because of crime rates in high density
areas tending to be higher. The slope was also .021 which means even if there was a strong
correlation coefficient it would still be negligible. Density is not a contributing factor when in
relation to crime rates, disproving hypothesis 1. Next in table 10 the amount of police per
square mile is substituted as the x interval where crime rate stays the same as y. The correlation
coefficient was .08 which is even less than density. This disproved hypothesis 3 because there is
almost no correlation to the amount of police in an area and the crime rate. The slope was also
irrelevant at 3.6. Table 12 compared the correlation between graduation rate and crime. The
correlation between the data sets were .624 wish is a strong correlation. When graduation rates
suffer crime rates increase. The slope for this statistic is 110 which explains that for every 1
percent from 100 a graduation rate is in a city there is an additional 110 crimes committed per
100,000 people. This is a huge slope which shows how important education is in crime

OBJECTIVE:
The general focus of this research is to examine performance in standard cognitive frameworks and
online tasks. The researchers hope to examine the influence that math anxiety exerts on
mathematical cognition and to identify the processing components that are so influenced.
HYPOTHESIS:
The higher the math anxiety, the lower the working memory capacity, the higher the probability to
get a low performance.
VARIABLES:
IV math anxiety
DV working memory capacity, performance
The independent variable math anxiety is manipulated into three levels: high, medium, low. The

additional subjects which also undergraduate psychology graduates . * The researchers used
ANOVA column 3 of table 2 (page 228) presents the correlation between sMARS and the
remaining variables, using math anxiety group (low, medium, high) as a between subjects
variable. They also used ANOVA two way to see if the decline in capacity differed as a function
of type of span task. * The objective of the study was realized for they have gathered two general
remarks form their experiments and they have explained well the conclusions they have made
regarding the relationship among working memory, math anxiety and performance.

A Comparison Of Cheyenne And Helen Keller In Girl Stolen
They use a cane to get around places, they wear dark shaded sunglasses to protect their eyes from
the sun. Often you may see that they use a dog to get around. Most may know this description as
a blind person. As proven above, they seem more dependent with assistants. However, not
everyone remains the same way. For example, both Cheyenne and Helen Keller were both
helpless when being blind for the first time. Although overtime Cheyenne becomes independent
after being kidnapped, and Helen Keller converts after attending school. When experiencing
change, we often respond either negatively or positively. In Girl Stolen , the main character,
Cheyenne, could see just like any other kid. Nonetheless, she was involved in a car accident,
which caused her to lose her mom and her sight. In like manner, once Cheyenne realized that she
would never see again, she shut down (pg.92). Everyone treated Cheyenne differently after
becoming blind, causing her to give up on herself and anyone that tried to help her. Even ones that
were close to her like her dad. For example, everytime her dad encourage her to get up Cheyenne
complained (pg.93). Before long that s just how she always responded to the situation. For... Show

Certified Financial Planner
Certified Financial planner Being a certified financial planner is not for everyone, this title is
considered a professional title in the financial planning field (Certified Financial Planner Salary).
Certified Financial Planners have many tasks. They document and revise financial plans for
clients and identify client s financial goals, concerns, and opportunities. Financial planners must
be very reliable, so clients will have the confidence to invest their money in that person (Otts,
Chip). The profession of a certified financial planner is a growing career field that is desperate
for eager students to care for the financial needs of individuals within our country, and after
interviewing an actual financial planner I realized how passionate about the career field. In order
to become a certified financial planner, there are certain education and examination requirements
that prospective financial planners must pass. The prospective financial planner must hold a
bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. They must also complete
college level coursework through a program that is registered with the CFP Board. This program

Roles Of Women In The Bible Essay
Unlike many other ancient texts, women in the Bible have a very prominent and important role in
deciding the future of their lineage and often, their nations. However, an initial reading of the Bible
without historical context often leads the reader to the assumption that women often are a
detriment; committing actions that appear deceitful or resulting in punishment. However, if we
approach these stories with their historical context in mind, we see that initial impressions do not
hold true. Women in the Bible work within the restrictions place upon them by their society to
achieve their own goals as well as fulfilling the plan of God. Furthermore, they are instrumental in
deciding who of their sons receives both the covenant and the birthright... Show more content on

Women in biblical times were subject to the rule of their husbands and in the event that their
husband s died, their eldest son would take charge of the household and thus take charge over
their mother. As a result, the advantages and disadvantages of the son mattered to the mother, as
he would be the one to care for her in her old age. The story of Sarah and Hagar demonstrates the
motives and power of women in this regard. Sarah, unable to have children, tells Abraham, The
Lord has prevented me from bearing children; go to my slave girl [Hagar]; it may be that I shall
obtain children by her . As was customary during the time, Sarah could use Hagar as a surrogate
so Abraham may have a son but any children would be considered Sarah s as Hagar is considered
to be her property. It is evident in this that Sarah is ensuring that the lineage of Abraham is
carried on, a crucial aspect of the narrative as well as a crucial aspect of life during biblical times.
If Abraham were to not have a son, there would be no one to inherit the birthright as well as no
one to care for Sarah after Abraham dies. In light of this, it is evident that Sarah is seeking to
insure her own future as well as the future of Abraham s

Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs which serve
children from birth to age five, pregnant woman and their extended families. They are child
focused programs that have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in
low income families. . These programs try to prepare young children intellectually, socially,
emotionally and physically for their future educational and social endeavors. ( U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services, 2002).. The programs prepare the parent(s) to be supportive in the

standards of literacy (which have not yet been fully implemented) . ( Good Start, Grow Smart: The
Bush Administration s Early Childhood Initiatives, 2002).
In the 1994 legislation revised Head Start performance standards.
Guidelines and new standards were set nationwide. The legislation focused on infants and toddlers
and their families as well as quality services for children. The education program is designed to
meet the needs of each child in Head Start.
Children must meet specific guidelines in order to qualify for Head Start. Family income (over
the last year) is considered. The family must be a low income family (income below the official
poverty level). Other things taken into consideration for acceptance are the lack of another pre
school program in the community, a population of less than 1,000 persons and residence in a
remote area.
Head Start programs emphasize the importance of early identification of health problems.
Referrals are made to various agencies after each family s needs are identified. Every child
accepted into the program receives free medical benefits. The child must have a thorough physical
examination and a complete dental examination, as well as hearing and vision screening. Follow up

The Impact Of Technology In Airport Security
Sixteen years and billions of dollars invested in the growth of aviation security after the terrorist
attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, threats to airport security continuously
progress as the United States aviation security encounters numerous changes. Since the September
11th attacks, the Transportation Security Administration, also known as the TSA, initiated their plan
to ensure the safety of nearly 2 million air passengers at approximately 440 airports nationwide.

It is not logical to invest a significant amount of federal funds into airline security employment if
there is a large discrepancy between their current performances and expected results. However,
technology utilizes a significantly less amount of funding, but continues to perform its tasks. The
Trump administration plans to eliminate three airport security programs that were implemented
after the 9/11 terrorist attack: Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response program that conduct
random sweeps through airports and other modes of transportation, Behavior Detection Officer
program that identifies potentially high risk individuals exhibiting behavior indicative of
excessiveness then re routes them for additional screening, and the grant program to support local
police at airports, specifically, likely target cities. (Halsey) These plans indicate that the Trump
administration believes that the termination of these programs will increase the budget for the
Department of Homeland Security, but does not reduce the number of TSA officers at
checkpoints. There is also more funding for the government to invest in other areas to improve
the security for the general public. There is also a current decline in airport staffing. In this
report, the TSA admits that TSO staffing levels fell from 47,147 full time employees to 42,525
between 2013 and 2016; concurrent passenger volume rose 15 percent in this period, while the
TSA only hired 373 workers to

Purpose Statement For Equilibrium
Purpose Statement
In this experiment we will determine an equilibrium constant for specific reactions by using Beer s
law and Le ChГўtelier s principles. Reactions that are at equilibrium are constantly occurring in
both directions. In order to test the consistency of the equilibrium constant we will change
concentrations of the reactants to see how that affects equilibrium.
Introduction
Equilibrium can be reached when the forward and reverse reactions are occurring at the same
rate. To determine if a reaction is at equilibrium, you can record the values of the products and
divide that by the value of the reactants. For example the equation for the reaction aA + bB (

Using the same process, the equilibrium concentration of Fe3+ and SCN in each mixture will also
be calculated. After finding the equilibrium constants, the mean and standard deviation of each
cuvet will be recorded using basic equations. For finding the mean, we will take the sum of all of
the equilibrium concentrations and divide that by the total number of values. The standard
deviation and mean can be more easily calculated by entering the data into excel and using their
standard formulas.
Graphical Analysis
The absorbance of each of the 30 readings will be recorded and series S1 S5 will be placed into a
scatter plot comparing the amount of absorbance and the concentration of solution. From the
scatter plot, a linear regression line, slope, and correlation coefficient will be found. Calculating
the correlation coefficient will allow us to see if we correctly prepared the solutions and if there
are any outliers present that could skew our data.
Safety and Disposal
Left over content is the cuvets will be dumped into the waste container. The cuvets will then be
rinsed and dried to be placed back on the drying rack under the hood vent. Return 10 mL flask

How Does Friar Lawrence Affect Romeo And Juliet
(TOPIC SENTENCE) (THESIS III) Friar Laurence affects the outcome of the play with his
insufficient choices by (MAJOR A) marrying Romeo and Juliet (MAJOR B) and fleeing Juliet s

makes the decision to marry Romeo and Juliet, without thinking of the consequences or
problems that would soon come in store for the newly found lovers. (MINOR 1 FOR MA) Friar
Laurence rather takes the easy way out because he never tries to help Romeo and Juliet reveal to
their families their love for each other. For instance, Friar Laurence states, Come, come with me,

Laurence s secret plan would not have taken place, which easily went wrong by causing the
death of three characters. (REWORDING OF MAJOR B) Another terrible decision Friar
Laurence makes is when he runs away from Juliet s tombstone even when she needs him the
most. (MINOR 1 FOR MB) Friar Laurence flees the scene because he hears the watch coming
and does not want to them to perceive that he caused the death of Paris and Romeo. For example,
he states, Stay not to question, for the watch is coming. / Come, go, good Juliet, I dare no longer

How Did Hitler Use Language In Ww2
The Use of Language in World War II Caitlyn OHaire Baker College of Muskegon November 11,
2015 Throughout human history, language has been used to bring together societies, cultures,
and religions for a common purpose. As time passes, it becomes clearer how the structure and
delivery of words and phrases were used to fulfill the agendas of the different countries and their
leaders. Specifically, during World War II language was used as a tool to motivate and
manipulate, and through Hitler s orator skills, the use of wartime propaganda, and the strategy
used to develop the Navajo Code Talkers, its use played a vital role in the shaping of our history.

This resulted in an additional 200 words, which brought the total number of terms in the code to
411. After becoming fluent in this newly created war time language, Navajo code talkers
participated from 1942 until 1945 in numerous battles in the Pacific, including Guadalcanal, Iwo
Jima, Peleliu, and Tarawa, and played a vital role in the Allied success in the Pacific regions at the
end of the war, (Rosenberg, J. 2015). As you can see, the use language was of great value to Hitler
and to the United States during WWII. Through Hitler s orating techniques, he was able to use the
structure and delivery of language to gain support from a nation in order to carry out his race war.
Similarly, though with obviously different motives, the strategy behind use of language in wartime
propaganda in the United States generated patriotic support throughout the nation for the war and
the United States role in it. Finally, the weaving of the Navajo language with military terminology
illustrates how important the variety of language can

The Structures And Functions Of Different Lipocalins
This paper mainly deals with a small family of proteins Lipocalins . The structures and functions of
different lipocalins have been widely discussed. The structural similarity, physiological functions,
synthesis, their number of amino acid residues, secondary structures of each lipocalin has been
widely analyzed throughout this paper.
Lipocalins are a family of proteins which contribute various physiological role in small molecules.
Lipocalins are found to take part in binding, storage or sequestration of many low molecular weight
compounds which shows poor solubility and easy decomposition, thereby stabilizing them and
playing an important role. In humans lipocalins are present as secretory proteins in blood, genital
secretions and tears.
About Lipocalins: Lipocalins are small monomeric proteins with 150 180 residues, having compact
fold with central eight ОІ strands. There are four loops which connect the ОІ strands and forms a
cup shaped cavity. Different lipocalins can accommodate different chemical ligands (lipids,
steroids, vitamins, cofactors etc.) of various shapes and sizes, depending on the length of the amino
acid sequence of the loops. The name Lipocalins were given to a group of proteins comprising of
the human О±1 acid glycoprotein, О±1 microglobulin, serum/plasma retinol binding protein, and
bovine ОІ lactoglobulin on the basis of sequence homologies, disulfide bonds, functional
similarities and their ability to bind with +complex lipophilic substances in

Obtaining Capital For Expansion Into New Markets
Obtaining Capital A company needs to obtain capital for expansion into new markets and it wants
to obtain these funds from external sources. The ways in which company chooses to obtain these
funds depends upon the short term versus long term financing strategies of the company. As a
finance manager for a Fortune 500 company, the plan is to borrow approximately $100 million
within the next year, and the manager must present to the board the best option for this large
financing. By evaluating the different types of funding options, the financemanager can make the
best informed decision for this capital funding. It is ideal for a company to maximize the total value
of the company and minimize the overall cost of capital (Shim, Siegel Dauber, 2008). These
decisions include whether to issue debt securities, or obtain financing from individuals and whether
the funding should be secured or unsecured. Any capital structure decisions will take into account
the nature of the business, strategic plan of the company, its current capital structure and its
anticipated growth.
Debt Financing When a company is deciding whether to use debt financing, it is important to look
at the overall capital structure as each type of financing has its own advantages and disadvantages.
A rapidly growing company needs flexibility in how it structures its financing. Long term debt
financing is financing that extends for more than five years, includes mortgages or bonds, and

Netflix vs. Blockbuster
Introduction Blockbuster opened in 1985 and in its first 20 years of business, the movie rental
giant opened 9.100 stores in 25 countries (Laudon, 2007, p. 121). Netflix launched in 1998 using a
new business model and became Blockbusters biggest threat. The paradigm shift in the rental
industry from having to travel to a store and rent a movie to being able to have a movie delivered
to your mailbox changed the way people think about media entertainment. The next shift will be
having the technology to download movies and shows directly to a television.
Analysis
Blockbuster and Netflix are using two different information system strategies. Blockbuster, which is
a traditional retail store with a physical location focused on creating ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
Alternatives One of the biggest information technology hurdles that Blockbuster has to overcome
is the two separate systems dividing the online service and the physical stores. While not as
convenient as being able to order a movie from the comfort of your home and having it upload on
the TV, if Blockbuster integrates the two systems it will be an advantage to the overall strategy.
Microsoft and Netflix have unveiled a partnership under which Netflix will stream movies directly
to consumers through Microsoft s Internet based Xbox Live service (McDougall, 2008). This
strategy goes along with Netflix s original agenda: to increase customer convenience. Anyone who
is a Netflix subscriber and has an Xbox will be able to stream movies in the company library. This
service should launch in the autumn of 2008.
Closing While Blockbuster is trying to remain true to its origins and keep its core competence
of a physical video rental store, the future seems to be in the roles of companies able to cater to
consumer s busy life styles and need for convenience. Netflix, along with Apple and video on
demand, is working to make ordering movies and TV shows as simple and fast as possible.
Blockbuster needs to create a strategy that keeps at the front of the movie rental technology if it
doesn t want to lose customers to the convenience of not having to leave their homes.

Call Of The Wild Conflict Analysis
In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with the constant duality between his
Love of a Man and his pull towards savagery. The civilization that greeted Buck in the Santa Clara
Valley was one that was based on Southern Hospitality, but the savagery that slowly ripped and
consumed Buck was one of an unforgiving nature, destroying anyone or anything that was
unfortunate enough to see it. One major confliction Buck battles with is his Loveof a Man while he
is in the presence of civilization. In the beginning of the novel, while Buck is still on Judge Miller s
place, London states, His father, a huge Saint Bernard, had been the judge s inseparable
companion, and Buck bid fair to follow in the way of his father (12). Buck enjoyed being in the
company of the Judge s family and was comfortable in the ways of civilization. On page 23, the
novel states, Francois s whip snapped less frequently, and Perrault even honored Buck by lifting
up his feet and carefully examining them. When Perrault did this, it made Buck feel that love of a
man that he strives for. Later in the novel, John Thornton saved Buck from his previous owners
Hal, Charles, and Mercedes, and took care of Buck until his wounds healed and he regained his
strength. But love that was feverish and burning, that was adoration, that was madness,it had taken

Wayside Madonna
Wayside Madonna is an oil painting on canvas by Edith Catlin Phelps. It was painted around 1939.
Painted in southern California, it is a genre painting that is part of the regionalism movement but
also has a religious subject. This painting is currently part of the permanent collection at Bowers
Museum in Santa Ana, California. Phelps s oil paintingWayside Madonnaultimately focuses on the
lady in the foreground, providing a narrative about southern California culture, and places an
emphasis on the need for a more American focus and style of painting that does not rely so heavily
on European art. The painting is organized simply. The background of the painting is painted in an
Impressionist style. The blurring of edges, however, starkly... Show more content on

However, the desert scene and mountains suggest that this was painted in Southern California. In
the background, one can see a man leading a pack animal, a woman, and an infant along a road
towards the church, identified by the cross on the rooftop. There are no shadows to define form in
the background. This is, again, a contrast to the shadows made by the Madonna in the foreground.
The lack of shadows, however, does not make the background look flat. The Impressionist styled
painting and the lack of detail in the background creates a distant look that gives depth to the
painting. The numerous contrasts between the background and the foreground allows the artist to
subtly draw the viewer?fs attention towards the foreground. These contrasts help grab the viewer?fs
gaze and direct it to the most important part of the painting: the woman and baby. Wayside
Madonna has some clear iconography. The woman dominating the foreground is a direct allusion to
the Virgin Mary. Seated and holding a sleeping male baby in her arms, a violet robe drapes over
the figure. The woman wears a simple white outfit and adoringly looks down towards the baby.
This depiction is very similar to the common depiction of the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus in
religious European art. An important difference between the European religious Virgin Mary and
Wayside Madonna is the skin color. The Virgin Mary in European art is often painted as white
skinned.

Occupational Psychology Case Study
Industrial organizational psychology is a field of psychology concerned with the application of
psychological theories and doctrine to organizations. This field concentrates on improving
workplace output and interrelated issues such as the mental and physical welfare of employees.
Experts in the industrial organizational field offer a wide variety of services including
investigating worker attitudes and conduct, assessing companies, and perform leadership training
exercises. The overall objective of this discipline is to investigate and comprehend human behavior
in the office. Occupational issues bear great significance to psychologists, given that most
employees spend the majority of their adult lives working in offices. Work acts as the defining
factor for all human beings making it an important subject to study (Avsec, 2010: Weinberg,
Sutherland, Cooper, Palgrave Connect, 2010). Other related issues that are of interest to
psychologists include correlating between the right job and individual character set and discovering
new methods of lowering workplace stress.

The Theology Of Philosophy And Christian Theology
There are four theology sources of theology that is scripture, tradition, reason and religious
experience. The scripture is expounded with the context of public worship and is the subject of
meditation and devotion on the part of individual Christian (McGrath, 2011). Tradition is an active
process of passing on the Christian faith, rather than as a static source of revelation, independent of
Scripture (McGrath, 2011). Reason is assumed an especial importance at the time of the
Enlightenment (McGrath, 2011). Religionexperience is an imprecise term. The origins of the word
are relatively well understood (McGrath, 2011). In this paper I will differentiate the different
theology sources that is important. And, what limitations they might have, also how they relate to
philosophy and Christian theology. Finally, some positive and negative relationship will be
discussed between the sources of Christian theology. The scripture is expounded with the context
of public worship and is the subject of meditation and devotion on the part of individual Christian
(McGrath, 2011). The scriptures and faith goes hand to hand, they coexist to develop significant
meaning from Genesis to Revelation. Tradition is an active process that passes on the Christian
faith, rather than as a static source of revelation, independent of Scripture (McGrath, 2011).
Tradition often can cause Christian to lose sight of the scriptures as for as its divine attribute, such
as the danger of sin. Also,

Bement Drug Problem
Bement, Illinois is a village where people talk to their neighbors and offer a helping hand in the

Early Dismissal Of High School Students
Another way that early dismissal of senior student would be beneficial is financially. Students have
to balance work along with school and extracurricular activities, have an even more difficult time

Senior year has so many responsibilities, activities, and obligations, that adding unnecessary
classes are a major misuse of senior s time. Electives are great classes that everyone should have
the chance to experience throughout high school; however, the demanding tasks that are a part of
senior year are far more important. Athletics, jobs, and extracurricular activities are important parts
of high school students lives, but they do come with added stress. To help relieve some of the
stress, school boards should consider allowing students to capitalize the hours that are not spent on
requisite classes. Between work, scholarships, sports, clubs, and school work, students have plenty
to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Along with benefiting students in the present
situation, this would also prepare students for the upcoming college schedule. This would give
seniors a glimpse of how college life will look like, and how they would need to manage their time.
If students have all the required classes complete, they deserve the free time for which they have

Accomodating the Increasing Inmate Population
Accomodating the Increasing Inmate Population
In August 1994, the California Department of Corrections released its annual five year facilities
master plan for new prison construction. This plan, usually submitted to the Legislature earlier in
the calendar year, was delayed so that the additional need for new prison beds resulting from the
recently enacted Three Strikes and You re Out legislation could be incorporated into the plan. The
facilities plan is based on the department s spring 1994 population estimate that estimated a total
of 246,000 inmates by June 1999. This projection was recently revised to 211,000, 35,000 fewer
inmates. There are several reasons for this reduction, as shown in Figure 1 and discussed below....

This equals the increase that the state prison system incurred over the past ten years. The state s
prisons, however, fall far short of having space to accommodate this projected growth in inmate
population.
New Prison Needs
The state s existing prisons were designed to house 66,000 inmates (one inmate per prison cell). As
of September 1994, however, the prisons housed 120,000 inmates, resulting in an average
overcrowding level of 182 percent. (Another 5,000 inmates are housed in community correctional
centers that are operated by either private organizations, cities, or counties.) Additional prisons
designed to house 14,000 inmates have been funded and are either under construction or ready for
occupancy. When these new prisons are completed (around 1998) the design capacity of the state s
prisons will total 80,000.
Figure 2 shows recent and projected overcrowding levels in the state prison system based on the
scheduled completion of all authorized prisons. As shown in the figure, prison overcrowding
increased from about 140 percent in June 1983 to around 180 percent in June 1990 and has
remained fairly close to that level over the last four years as additional prisons have been
opened. Based on the CDC s fall 1994 population projections, unless more prisons are built,
overcrowding in the prisons will increase significantly over the next five years and will reach 256
percent in mid 1999 nearly three inmates for each space designed to

Introduction
Six sigma is a methodology, discipline and a set of techniques used to improve a process by
eliminating defects. In addition, it is also considered a management philosophy. The core of this
philosophy is to develop future leaders and display strategies on how to conduct a business
effectively. Six Sigma creates common language throughout an organization and serves as a method
to transform culture. At its highest level possible, six sigma is there to improve both efficiency and
effectiveness. Efficiency includes time, costs, and labor values; amounts of resources consumed,
whereas effectiveness measures the degree to which the customer?s needs are met. This paper will
examine the origin of Six Sigma and it?s evolution into the foremost accepted quality improvement
processes across many disciplines. In addition, an examination will be done on the application of
Six Sigma in the healthcare industry including all variables and their operational definitions.
Clarification will be given on how the theory evolved into the foremost accepted process
improvement methodology in the world. Finally, testing of the model will be conducted by
applying the theory to a work setting within the healthcare environment. From the testing

Biological evolution begins with the origin of life, but the subject is the perhaps the most
interdisciplinary of any in science. Understanding how life began on Earth requires knowledge of
the astronomical, geological, and atmospheric settings. However, those settings are in turn
dependent on knowing the time period when life arose, which comes from the fossil and molecular
records, including molecular clocks based on genetic mutations. Interrelated with the setting is the
chemistry that generates the organic molecules used to assemble the first cells and carry the genetic
information to successive generations of cells. But holding the chemical reactions and products

United States, you ll file a PCT patent application. PCT, also referred to as Patent Cooperation

The application, however, may not automatically provide you with protection in each of these
countries. The PCT application can only be used as a reservation for submitting your patent to
those specific countries, allowing you to delay the process for up to 2 and a half years so that you
can make a determination as to which countries to seek protection in. Only after that point is the
PCT application converted into a formal patent application.
In simpler terms, the PCT process includes two phases: [1] filing the international application and

converting the PCT application into an actual patent application within each specific country you

Without these elements of Fleming within Bond, it s quite possible to say Bond and his story

how it calms them they are hooked and never let it go. Some start and can never stop, others
pick it up and put it back down with no problems at all. At one point and time or another most
people hold or attempt to smoke a cigarette at least once in their lifetime. For the longest time
cigars or cigarettes were used in social settings. You d sit down and talk and have a smoke. You
were uncool if you didn t have one between your fingers. Whether or not one of the mentioned
reasons is why Ian Fleming picked up cigarettes and never put them down is a question we can
attempt to answer with the given details of who James Bond is.
The two were compared saying Bond, in the novels smoked an average of sixy cigarettes a day
and Fleming topping that with an average of eighty cigarettes a day. Not only did James Bond and
Ian Fleming both smoke,

Guardian Angel Home Research Paper
The Guardian Angel Home formed on October 19, 1897. The original home, under the
supervision of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate cared for dependent and neglected
children. During our formative years, we outgrew two locations moving into our current building
in 1926. We changed our name to Guardian Angel Community Services (GACS) in 2005.
Throughout the years, we have given shelter, education, security, and loving guidance to hundreds

INTRODUCTION
Have you experienced purchasing a product then discovered that it is defective in some way or
does not function the way it was designed to, or found that a piece of the product is missing or
defective. As consumers, we expect the products we purchase to function as intended. However,
producers of products know that it is not always possible to inspect every product and every aspect
of the production process at all times. The challenge is to design ways to maximize the ability to
monitor the quality of products being produced and eliminate defects. (TQM) addresses
organizational quality from managerial viewpoints focusing on customer driven quality standards,

The personnel responsible for process selection must be cognizant of the effect of quality
characteristic variances on the quality of the product.
This process, developed by Dr. Taguchi, Robust design, which is based upon loss function, Process
capability analysis, which is an important step for selection of processes for manufacture of the
components and the product, Process capability analysis cannot be completed without ascertaining
that the process is in control. The effect of measurement error should also be taken into
consideration. Emphasis is given to modeling of errors, estimation of error variances, and the effect
of measurement errors on decisions related to quality. After process selection is completed, optimal
means for obtaining the quality characteristics must be determined; the emphasis is on the
methodologies used and the development of objective functions and solution procedures used by
various researchers. The next step in the methodology is process setting, in which the actual
process mean is brought as close as possible to the optimal value determined earlier. Once the
process setting is completed, manufacture of the components can begin. During the entire period of
manufacture, the mean and variance of the process must be kept at their respective target values,
which are accomplished, through process control, using control charts. Design of experiments, can
be used in any of the steps mentioned earlier. It serves as a

  • 2. Linear Regression Line Next the linear regression line is the line that finds the average of all x coordinates and the average of all y coordinates to create a linear formula that shows the direction of the points and at which intensity the slope of the data is. The equation for finding the slope of the data provided is seen on the right and the variables include, the correlation coefficient, and the standard deviation of x and y. This shows us the correlation of any two plot points. If the slope is higher then it shows a more positive correlation and if the slope is a large negative then it shows a negative correlation. How true the correlation is must be referred back to the correlation coefficient. The higher both of them are means the validity, reliability,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The correlation coefficient was .11 which suggested that there was a slight correlation between the two variables. This was not as strong as I expected to find because of crime rates in high density areas tending to be higher. The slope was also .021 which means even if there was a strong correlation coefficient it would still be negligible. Density is not a contributing factor when in relation to crime rates, disproving hypothesis 1. Next in table 10 the amount of police per square mile is substituted as the x interval where crime rate stays the same as y. The correlation coefficient was .08 which is even less than density. This disproved hypothesis 3 because there is almost no correlation to the amount of police in an area and the crime rate. The slope was also irrelevant at 3.6. Table 12 compared the correlation between graduation rate and crime. The correlation between the data sets were .624 wish is a strong correlation. When graduation rates suffer crime rates increase. The slope for this statistic is 110 which explains that for every 1 percent from 100 a graduation rate is in a city there is an additional 110 crimes committed per 100,000 people. This is a huge slope which shows how important education is in crime ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Often you may see that they use a dog to get around. Most may know this description as a blind person. As proven above, they seem more dependent with assistants. However, not everyone remains the same way. For example, both Cheyenne and Helen Keller were both helpless when being blind for the first time. Although overtime Cheyenne becomes independent after being kidnapped, and Helen Keller converts after attending school. When experiencing change, we often respond either negatively or positively. In Girl Stolen , the main character, Cheyenne, could see just like any other kid. Nonetheless, she was involved in a car accident, which caused her to lose her mom and her sight. In like manner, once Cheyenne realized that she would never see again, she shut down (pg.92). Everyone treated Cheyenne differently after becoming blind, causing her to give up on herself and anyone that tried to help her. Even ones that were close to her like her dad. For example, everytime her dad encourage her to get up Cheyenne complained (pg.93). Before long that s just how she always responded to the situation. For... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, an initial reading of the Bible without historical context often leads the reader to the assumption that women often are a detriment; committing actions that appear deceitful or resulting in punishment. However, if we approach these stories with their historical context in mind, we see that initial impressions do not hold true. Women in the Bible work within the restrictions place upon them by their society to achieve their own goals as well as fulfilling the plan of God. Women in biblical times were subject to the rule of their husbands and in the event that their husband s died, their eldest son would take charge of the household and thus take charge over their mother. As a result, the advantages and disadvantages of the son mattered to the mother, as he would be the one to care for her in her old age. The story of Sarah and Hagar demonstrates the motives and power of women in this regard. Sarah, unable to have children, tells Abraham, The Lord has prevented me from bearing children; go to my slave girl [Hagar]; it may be that I shall obtain children by her . As was customary during the time, Sarah could use Hagar as a surrogate so Abraham may have a son but any children would be considered Sarah s as Hagar is considered to be her property. It is evident in this that Sarah is ensuring that the lineage of Abraham is carried on, a crucial aspect of the narrative as well as a crucial aspect of life during biblical times. Reactions that are at equilibrium are constantly occurring in both directions. In order to test the consistency of the equilibrium constant we will change concentrations of the reactants to see how that affects equilibrium. Introduction Equilibrium can be reached when the forward and reverse reactions are occurring at the same rate. To determine if a reaction is at equilibrium, you can record the values of the products and divide that by the value of the reactants. For example the equation for the reaction aA + bB ( removed HTML ) cC + dD would be similar to the one shown below (UNC ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The standard deviation and mean can be more easily calculated by entering the data into excel and using their standard formulas. Graphical Analysis The absorbance of each of the 30 readings will be recorded and series S1 S5 will be placed into a scatter plot comparing the amount of absorbance and the concentration of solution. The ways in which company chooses to obtain these funds depends upon the short term versus long term financing strategies of the company. As a finance manager for a Fortune 500 company, the plan is to borrow approximately $100 million within the next year, and the manager must present to the board the best option for this large financing. By evaluating the different types of funding options, the financemanager can make the best informed decision for this capital funding. It is ideal for a company to maximize the total value of the company and minimize the overall cost of capital (Shim, Siegel Dauber, 2008). These decisions include whether to issue debt securities, or obtain financing from individuals and whether the funding should be secured or unsecured. Any capital structure decisions will take into account the nature of the business, strategic plan of the company, its current capital structure and its anticipated growth. Microsoft and Netflix have unveiled a partnership under which Netflix will stream movies directly to consumers through Microsoft s Internet based Xbox Live service (McDougall, 2008). This strategy goes along with Netflix s original agenda: to increase customer convenience. Anyone who is a Netflix subscriber and has an Xbox will be able to stream movies in the company library. There are no shadows to define form in the background. This is, again, a contrast to the shadows made by the Madonna in the foreground. The lack of shadows, however, does not make the background look flat. The Impressionist styled painting and the lack of detail in the background creates a distant look that gives depth to the painting. The numerous contrasts between the background and the foreground allows the artist to subtly draw the viewer?fs attention towards the foreground. These contrasts help grab the viewer?fs gaze and direct it to the most important part of the painting: the woman and baby. Wayside Madonna has some clear iconography. The woman wears a simple white outfit and adoringly looks down towards the baby. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Senior year has so many responsibilities, activities, and obligations, that adding unnecessary classes are a major misuse of senior s time. Electives are great classes that everyone should have the chance to experience throughout high school; however, the demanding tasks that are a part of senior year are far more important. Athletics, jobs, and extracurricular activities are important parts of high school students lives, but they do come with added stress. To help relieve some of the stress, school boards should consider allowing students to capitalize the hours that are not spent on requisite classes. Between work, scholarships, sports, clubs, and school work, students have plenty to keep them off the streets and out of trouble. Along with benefiting students in the present situation, this would also prepare students for the upcoming college schedule. This would give seniors a glimpse of how college life will look like, and how they would need to manage their time. If students have all the required classes complete, they deserve the free time for which they have earned. Not only are the senior students benefited, but also the school in its entirety. With less students in the halls, there would be little congestion during passing periods and lunch. This would allow the whole school to run smoother and more efficiently. The strip was between the street and the sidewalk. Other residents sought city permission to remove or alter the trees on the strip. Officers Scully and Mulder noticed Mr. Pitt mowing this area of land and talking to himself. Officers exited the cruiser and approached Mr. Pitt from behind. They noticed a weapon belt but no weapon. While Mr. Pitt mowed, he turned and faced officers. At this time the officers noticed an indistinct object hanging from the weapon belt. Accomodating the Increasing Inmate Population Accomodating the Increasing Inmate Population In August 1994, the California Department of Corrections released its annual five year facilities master plan for new prison construction. This plan, usually submitted to the Legislature earlier in the calendar year, was delayed so that the additional need for new prison beds resulting from the recently enacted Three Strikes and You re Out legislation could be incorporated into the plan. The facilities plan is based on the department s spring 1994 population estimate that estimated a total of 246,000 inmates by June 1999. This projection was recently revised to 211,000, 35,000 fewer inmates. There are several reasons for this reduction, as shown in Figure 1 and discussed below.... New Prison Needs The state s existing prisons were designed to house 66,000 inmates (one inmate per prison cell). As of September 1994, however, the prisons housed 120,000 inmates, resulting in an average overcrowding level of 182 percent. (Another 5,000 inmates are housed in community correctional centers that are operated by either private organizations, cities, or counties.) Additional prisons designed to house 14,000 inmates have been funded and are either under construction or ready for occupancy. When these new prisons are completed (around 1998) the design capacity of the state s prisons will total 80,000. Figure 2 shows recent and projected overcrowding levels in the state prison system based on the scheduled completion of all authorized prisons. As shown in the figure, prison overcrowding increased from about 140 percent in June 1983 to around 180 percent in June 1990 and has remained fairly close to that level over the last four years as additional prisons have been opened. Based on the CDC s fall 1994 population projections, unless more prisons are built, overcrowding in the prisons will increase significantly over the next five years and will reach 256 percent in mid 1999 nearly three inmates for each space designed to ... Organizational Behavior Of Six Sigma Six Sigma Six Sigma Six Sigma Jessica Acevedo, Brenda Griner, Angeline Bernard and Dwight Skeete Organizational Behavior in Healthcare HSA 6118 Executive MHA Professor: Jennifer Attonito, Ph.D. Email: Jattonit@fau.edu Introduction Six sigma is a methodology, discipline and a set of techniques used to improve a process by eliminating defects. In addition, it is also considered a management philosophy. The core of this philosophy is to develop future leaders and display strategies on how to conduct a business effectively. Six Sigma creates common language throughout an organization and serves as a method to transform culture. At its highest level possible, six sigma is there to improve both efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency includes time, costs, and labor values; amounts of resources consumed, whereas effectiveness measures the degree to which the customer?s needs are met. This paper will examine the origin of Six Sigma and it?s evolution into the foremost accepted quality improvement processes across many disciplines. In addition, an examination will be done on the application of Six Sigma in the healthcare industry including all variables and their operational definitions. Clarification will be given on how the theory evolved into the foremost accepted process improvement methodology in the world. Finally, testing of the model will be conducted by applying the theory to a work setting within the healthcare environment. From the testing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Understanding how life began on Earth requires knowledge of the astronomical, geological, and atmospheric settings. However, those settings are in turn dependent on knowing the time period when life arose, which comes from the fossil and molecular records, including molecular clocks based on genetic mutations. Interrelated with the setting is the chemistry that generates the organic molecules used to assemble the first cells and carry the genetic information to successive generations of cells. Only after that point is the PCT application converted into a formal patent application. In simpler terms, the PCT process includes two phases: [1] filing the international application and [2] choosing which countries to apply for patent protection, and converting the PCT application into an actual patent application within each specific country you wish to seek protection in. It could be argued that James Bond is an image creation of Ian Fleming. That Fleming created an autobiography through James Bond without actually making an autobiography. Without these elements of Fleming within Bond, it s quite possible to say Bond and his story lines might not have been as successful as they are. One of these elements seemed to have more of an effect on not just one of the story lines, but all the story lines. Smoking is a sign of stress to most people. It can be used to calm them.
