molecules, and hormones and the
removal of carbon dioxide,
ammonia and other metabolic
wastes. Capillaries are the points of
exchange between the blood and
surrounding tissues.

circulatory system by rhythmic contraction and dilation. In
vertebrates there may be up to four chambers (as in humans), with
two atria and two ventricles.
• Arteries- Are flexible, elastic tubes with muscular walls that
expand and contract to pump blood through the body, they carry
oxygenated blood away from the heart to the body's cells, tissues,
and organs.
• Veins- Are blood vessels that carries blood that is low in oxygen
content from the body back to the heart.
• Capillaries- are the smallest of blood vessels. They serve to
distribute oxygenated blood from arteries to the tissues of the body
and to feed deoxygenated blood from the tissues back into the
veins.

obstructions and impurities will be the blood.
• The blood nourishes the body so the health of the body

result of immoderate eating. The liver becomes
burdened, and unable to throw off the impurities in
