The Agri-Food Sector in the Parma Province (english)
Week 1 agribusiness and entrepreneurshipRione Drevale
The document outlines the key topics to be covered in an agribusiness entrepreneurship course, including examining if entrepreneurship is suitable, understanding the challenges of entrepreneurship, preparing a business plan, and explaining the major areas of agribusiness management like planning, organizing, characteristics of entrepreneurs, and types of agribusiness ventures. Students will learn how to assess if they have the traits of a successful entrepreneur, identify common reasons for business failure, and create a comprehensive business plan covering aspects like marketing, finances, operations, and management. The business plan is a crucial tool for entrepreneurs to realistically plan their new agribusiness venture and communicate their vision
Here are the key points from the context setting:
- Global agricultural trade has grown dramatically, from $53 billion in 1970 to nearly $410 billion in 2000.
- Concentration of food distribution in supermarkets has accelerated in Asia, with supermarkets estimated to distribute 40-80% of all foodstuffs in major Asian capitals.
- Cooperatives in Asia have also established their own retail outlets to participate in these growing markets.
- Government initiatives also provide public distribution systems for food in South Asia.
- These market dynamics highlight the importance of effective logistics for producers to cope with changing markets and distribution channels. Logistics costs can account for almost 50% of product retail costs.
Management Of Extension System For Agribusiness DevelopmentNishu Kanwar
The document discusses the management of extension systems for agribusiness development in India. It notes that agribusiness includes the businesses involved in supplying farms, agricultural production itself, and marketing farm outputs. It also discusses how the extension system will need to support the commercialization and diversification of agribusiness by farmers. This includes helping farmers cultivate new crops and adopt new technologies. Developing human resources, including the skills of extension workers and farmers, will also be important for agribusiness to thrive. Going forward, the extension system will focus on developing markets for farm products and entrepreneurship in rural areas.
The document discusses malnutrition in India, specifically in Karnataka state. It outlines the high rates of stunting and underweight children in India according to UNICEF data. It then discusses various government programs aimed at combating malnutrition like ICDS. However, it notes that in Karnataka there were issues with corruption related to the ICDS program. A private company, CFI, was improperly given contracts instead of setting up local nutrition centers as planned, and provided low quality, unsafe food. This occurred despite high rates of reported malnutrition deaths. It questions the government's more recent partnerships with corporates to provide spirulina supplements instead of traditional nutritious meals.
Role Of Cooperatives in AgriBusiness Developmentnikunjdobariya12
This document discusses the role of cooperatives in agribusiness development in India. It provides examples of successful cooperatives in different agribusiness sectors like dairy (Amul), fertilizers (IFFCO, KRIBHCO), fisheries (GFCCA), banking, and farming (TRIFED, NAFED). Cooperatives provide benefits like increased income for farmers, better access to supplies and markets, and community development. The cooperative model has helped India become a leading producer of milk globally and empowers small farmers. Overall, agribusiness cooperatives significantly contribute to the growth of the agriculture industry in India.

Growth Of Fast Food Industries In India Vinu Arpitha
The fast food industry is ubiquitous and has adapted to changing consumer tastes. It is also known as quick service restaurants that focus on consistency, affordability, and speed. Fast food originated from street vendors in ancient times and emerged in India in the 1990s. Major players like Domino's, McDonald's, and KFC now dominate the Indian market which is growing rapidly. India has great potential to be the food basket of the world due to its diverse agricultural resources and large workforce in agriculture. However, currently 20% of food produced in India is wasted due to an inefficient supply chain and lack of cold storage infrastructure and food processing industry. Building an efficient supply chain using modern techniques could help India serve its population with value-added food while ensuring good prices for farmers. The food processing industry has an important role to play in linking farmers to consumers in India and abroad. Developing a fully integrated cold chain logistics system including cold storage, transportation, packaging and information management could help reduce waste and make India a leading global food supplier.
An efficient supply chain can lead to strategic competitive advantage for McDonald's in the following ways:
1. Lower costs - Through scale, optimized logistics and outsourcing, McDonald's achieves lower procurement and distribution costs compared to competitors. This allows it to offer lower prices.
2. Faster innovation - McDonald's extensive supply chain network and collaboration with suppliers allows it to quickly test, refine and roll out new products and processes. This helps it innovate faster than competitors.
3. Superior customer experience - By ensuring consistent availability of products across its vast network, McDonald's is able to provide a standardized customer experience. Tight supply chain management also helps minimize disruptions and improve order accuracy.
4. B
The agro industry is an important and vital part of the manufacturing sector in developing countries and the means for building industrial capacities. The food processing sector is a highly fragmented industry has the potential to be the driver of economic growth and enhance rural incomes.

India is likely to be the world's largest consumer market by 2030, according to a report by global consultancy Deloitte. The country’s retail market is projected to touch US$ 1.3 trillion by 2020, as per Mr KV Thomas, India’s Consumer Affairs Minister. With the online medium of retail gaining more and more acceptance, there is a tremendous growth opportunity for companies (international and domestic) in the retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment.
The Indian consumer sector can be broadly categorised into urban and rural markets. The bourgeoning sector is attracting global marketers like never before. The pace at which India’s consumer market is changing can be put down to dramatic shifts in consumer behaviour, increasing urbanisation, presence of a strong service sector, changing lifestyle, and most significantly, the expanding retail segment.
Businesses that can cater to the requirements of India's ambitious middle class, keep prices reasonable, build brand loyalty in new consumers, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment will find tremendous rewards in India’s potential-filled consumer market.
India’s urban population has contributed majorly to the growth of the online market in the country. Around 30–40 per cent of the total retail in India’s top 75 cities is expected to be carried out online in the next 7–10 years, said Mr Arvind Singhal, Chairman and Founder, Technopak Advisors. Amazon, the world’s biggest internet retail company, has seen potential in the Indian market. In June 2013, India became only the tenth market where Amazon has established a country-specific retail website.
Italian high-end accessories brand Furla plans to expand its presence in the Indian market, with the government clearing the company’s joint venture with Gurgaon-based Genesis Luxury Fashion. The alliance is expected to invest about Rs 13 crore (US$ 2.08 million) in the first four years to open stores.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given the go-ahead to Swedish furniture retailer IKEA's application to enter the Indian industry and establish a single brand retail venture in the country. The projected Rs 10,500 crore (US$ 1.68 billion) FDI would be the largest investment by a foreign brand in the Indian retail sector

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.
LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems
