The Aeneid is an epic poem written by Virgil in 19 BC about the Trojan hero Aeneas and his journey from Troy to Italy, where he would eventually establish the city of Rome. Juno, the queen of gods, hates Aeneas for being destined to destroy her favorite city of Carthage and for Paris choosing Venus over her in a beauty contest. Due to her hatred, Juno sends many obstacles to hinder Aeneas' journey, including stirring up a storm that wrecks some of his ships.
