Day 1: The student set up a multitrack session in Audition, using only short clips of songs to avoid copyright issues and keep the podcast under 10 minutes. Day 2: They received a jingle from a friend and planned interview questions. They created a logo for their radio station using Photoshop, taking inspiration from online designs. Day 3: They wrote character profiles for actors and recorded audio interviews in the studio, though there was background humming to address in editing. They also took photos for social media pages.

2. Day 1-
Day one, I figured out what songs I wanted to include, downloaded them and
set up a multitrack session on audition.
On the multitrack I used only the first few and last few seconds of each song
which I faded in and out. I had to do this to stop my work from getting
copyrighted. I also did this to make sure that the podcast wasn’t too long
as we have a 10 minute maximum time limit. This was quite simple, straight
forward and easy to do after doing soe research of pop song charts. I
chose a balance of female and male artists when doing this.

3. Day 2-
Day two, I got my recording for my jingle sent from my friend.
I also prepared questions for the interview and planned out how I could lay it out
and did some scripting. I didn’t end up doing a set script however to do the
interview as I want to make it ore natural and conversational rather than read
from a script. Therefore, I used the script as questions to ask in the interview.
I created a logo for my radio station using photoshop. I had inspiration from a
logo creator online. I took ideas from a few different ones and designed a logo
which put them together to create my logo which was simple and straight forward
to do after looking at other similar designs on a create a logo website.

4. Day 3-
Day three, in the morning I wrote character profiles and gave them to Andina and Charlie to
make sure that they have time to get into character and know their back story and who I
was wanting them to be. This was quite a simple thing to do as I had already come up
with an idea of who I wanted them to be. I had also spoken to the cast beforehand to
make sure that this was going to be okay for them.
In the afternoon, recorded all of my audio using a microphone and an audio recorder in the
studio with Andina and Charlie. However when I was listening back there was a lot of
humming which I had to try and cover up when editing but I will talk about that in ore
detail later.
Whilst in the studio, I also took some photos using the white screen to created the poster
and the social media page for the radio station. I did this by creating an Instagram
page. This was quite simple to do and I didn’t have many issues with this except
from the quality shrink when I had uploaded them which caused them to go pixelated
and blurry. However, I uploaded them from my phone instead of my computer and this
solved this issue.

5. Day 4-
Day four, I worked on the social media. I started by creating a poster which I took the whole morning
doing, I created this on photoshop. I used a range of tools to create this on photoshop.
To create the background I used 2 rectangles and angled them. I found colours that complimented each
other and used the line tool to split the colours.
I used a range of tools to delete the background of the photos. I used a combination of the magic wand
tool, object select tool, quick selection tool and the eraser tool to give the best, smoothest end results.
I used a neural filter to smoothen our skin alongside some adjustment tools like the brightness tool,
contrast, colour balance and used the burn tool to fix a few spots on the black clothing which messed
up when exporting.
I used a font which I downloaded from dafont.com for the title and the logo. I then used a mix of
blending options to make it stand out more. I used bevel & emboss to give the logo more texture and
shine. I also used the stroke tool to add a border to the writing to make it stand out, the colour overlay
to make it matching to the background colour and a drop shadow.

6. Day 5-
Day five, I started editing my podcast, adding everything together and cutting out any bloopers
and unwanted clips. I also started to lay out where I wanted songs to be and faded them in and
out to give the same effect that they use on radio as they fade the songs in and out in between
songs and talking. I also changed some volume and panning levels which I had to change to
equal the audio out in some sections. I found this task simple and easy enough to do.

7. Day 6-
Day six, I was cutting more sections out of my clips out that weren’t needed and kept adjusting
things to make it as smooth and as professional sounding as possible, using a dehummer in some
sections to help get rid of the buzzing sound of the microphone. I put the ‘broadcast’ multiband
compressor onto all of the audio clips to make it clear and sound professional. however, the
dehummer didn't always work so there was some parts that were louder than others due to
background sound and humming. I tried different ways to fix this issue and I did the best I can.

8. Day 7-
Day seven, I ran into some technical difficulties with the audio as some humming sounds were still
heard, louder than talking. Therefore, I resolved this issue by adding some clips from another
audio recording which I had done at the same time as I had recorded on the microphone.
However, this cause a problem as it started being quieter and louder between the left and right
earphone however, I fixed that as much as I could by changing the panning line.

9. Day 8-
Day Eight, I created my jingle, using the audio recording that my friend sent me. I used some pre-
set jingles from garage band and used one of those to add to my audio recording from my friend
and blended them together by fading the jingle in and and out in the background of the singing. I
also added some effects to the singing. For this I used the multiband compressor and the pitch
shifter to make it sound more like it was on air.

10. Day 9-
Day nine, I ran into some issues when I had realised that there was a lot more panning between
earphones, so I had to once again play around with the panning line to try and equal this out. This
was a difficult to do but I did my best to fix this.
