 In 1948 – 1% of households had TV set;

 In 1960’s – more than 90%
 Early 1880 production of TV was set forth;
 Paul Nipkow – father of television (invented first rotating disk);
 Vladimir Zworykin – introduced iconscope (electronic camera
tube used in television);
 Pixels – lines of resolution, lighted dots that make up TV
picture image.
 In1954 – color TV standard was engineered
 By 1966, NBC broadcasted their TV show in color format;
 Three major broadcast networks:

 Cable TV of Community Antenna TV (CATV) – first cable
