Teenage Love Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Teenage Love" presents a unique set of challenges. The
intricacies of teenage emotions and relationships require a delicate balance between empathy and
objectivity. On one hand, the writer must tap into the intensity and passion that often
characterize adolescent love, delving into the whirlwind of emotions, insecurities, and self-
discovery that come with it. On the other hand, maintaining a level-headed analysis is crucial to
avoid veering into overly sentimental or clichГ©d territory.
Navigating the complexities of teenage love demands a nuanced understanding of the
psychological and social factors at play. One must consider the impact of peer pressure, societal
expectations, and the struggle for identity that often defines this stage of life. Tackling these
aspects while maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative can be challenging.
Furthermore, finding a fresh perspective on a topic that has been explored in countless ways
requires creativity and originality. A successful essay on teenage love should go beyond the
surface and explore deeper themes, perhaps touching on personal growth, the lessons learned
from relationships, or the broader implications of early romantic experiences.
Balancing the subjective nature of love with an analytical approach can be a tightrope walk.
Striking the right chord between personal anecdotes, research, and a broader societal context
requires finesse. Additionally, addressing the potentially controversial or sensitive aspects of
teenage relationships without oversimplifying or sensationalizing them adds another layer of
complexity.
In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on teenage love demands a blend of emotional
intelligence, research skills, and a keen understanding of the broader societal context. It is a
challenge that requires the writer to tread carefully between personal experiences and a universal
exploration of the topic.

Jesus The Historical And Biblical Survey Of Synchronous
Study of Jesus, the historical and biblical survey being synchronous, is not simple.
Understanding of the Bible and ascribing to its truths requires not only faith but time
and an attentive and open heart willing and ready to listen. Of understanding the
authentic Jesus of the Bible, James Breech observes the following: Those who really
have something significant to say are usually best able to keep silence. Jesusdoes not
impose himself, does not raise his voice, but is keeping silent until the audience is
prepared to listen. For those who are willing to pay attention, I hope the voice which
originally uttered these parables and sayings will be heard once again, revealing its
elusive reality. Until we listen, we will not hear and until
Chemical Burn Research Paper
The severity of a chemical burn depends on the following factors: corrosive capability
of the chemical burn, concentration of the chemical, temperature of the chemical or
the solution in which it dissolved and lastly, duration of the contact with the chemical
(page 294). Also an important dependent on the severity of the burnis by how deep the
burn in question penetrates through the skin. This is determined by the location of
the burn, age of the victim, and the amount of burned area (page 293).
Chemical burns can destroy body tissue, depending on the extent of destruction
including the severity of the burn. However, chemical burns can also cause a high risk
of infection in victims. Due to this risk of infection it is important to keep the
Examples Of Robber Barons After The Civil War
Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, J.P Morgan and Andrew Carnegie, all examples of robber
barons during the time after civil war. They, along with many other great
businessmen, pushed America to become an industrialized country. Rockefeller
owned 90% of oil refineries, that is just one example of how the power these
industrialists had was unbalanced. The industrialists were egocentric. Money was
the focus all across the nation, and it didn t matter who got treated unfairly along
the way. In Document A, George states instead of being treated as the common
property of the whole people, it is treated as the private property of individuals .
Where you find wealth, you will find that the land contains monopolies. Monopolies
were becoming more prominent during this time. Rockefeller is the best example of
corrupt monopolies. The source of his wealth was a system. These oil producers and
refiners whom the Standard was robbing with and without forms of law fought...

Morgan brought interlocking directorates into business. Interlocking directorates
is when the majority of members on boards are the same. Therefore you d only
have one group of people to manage both companies. The reason that is unfair, is
because, well there was only one power controlling what needed the control of two.
The main goal was to eliminate wasteful competition by sending officers to the
companies that he wished to control. In Document C Vanderbilt says The railroads
are not run for the benefit of the dear public that cry is all nonsense. The working
class were still being paid lower, so they didn t stand a chance. Nothing was for the
benefits of the laborers. Especially with Carnegie s policies which called for low
wages. You can see in Document I the difference between the value of products and
the wage of the workers. The chart speaks for itself. The only ones who were
benefitting from these monopolies were the Robber
Imagery In Plato s Allegory Of The Cave
Some of the key images Plato uses in his Allegory of the cave are the shadows
coming from the fire the prisoners see as they are chained up. Every time a
prisoner gets a glimpse of these shadows they can t help but wonder what these
shadows represent. Since the prisoners have been locked up away for most of their
lives they really have know understanding what these shadows are. The shadows
represent a worldthat only the prisoners know, its really the only world or way they
have known. These shadows are never fully understood by the prisoners until one of
the prisoners is set free. When the prisoneris freed from his imprisonment he is then
shocked by what he witnesses. The prisoner sees a whole new world; this world was
very shocking to him because he had no idea that this world had even existed in the

I think that in this case the appearances the prisoners witness are the shadows they
can see from the fire. I think that the reason the other prisoners didn t believe the
man that was freed was because their imprisonment was the only world they had

He had a sense of comparing the two worlds so he could which was the good life

Improper Building Maintenance Essay
In Malaysia, the idea of a specific and systematic facility audit for effectiveness,
efficiency and performance is in early stages (Musa, 2012). The awareness level
from the society is very low. The costly repairs and maintenance may be done as a
routine practices, but when the economy is booming only emergency maintenanceand
repair is attempted (Musa, 2012). (Zunguzane, Smallwood, Emuze, 2012) added that,
the damages and costly repair works are the causes from the improper building
maintenance. This has shown us that the main concern was not executed for the
maintenance works for the available facilities in Malaysia.
The purpose of building maintenance is essentially to retain its values for investment,
aesthetic, safety, durability, with a view to ensuring that the property is fit for its
purposes and to the satisfaction of the owner(s)/users (Brennan, 2010). Furthermore,
effective, efficient and quality are essential aspects in the building maintenance. The
non perform of the significant aspects caused the failure of a building maintenance.
Zunguzane et al., (2012) describe the non perform of significant aspects caused the
dissatisfaction of client and/or building occupants.
Moreover, the non perform of essential aspects can result in delays in building
maintenance projects and the need for rework, which can result in a significant
financial loss. Effective, efficient and quality focuses on eliminating defects and
variations and seeks to avoid waste of time,

At the start of this scene, as James is heading toward the graves it is mainly close
up shots of James, and then it begins to include shots of James family as well. These
shots indicate that his family are supporting him and the shots of him show that he is
the main subject. As James and his family are walking along the path towards the
graves a very patriotic orchestral music is being played, the rhythm is based on their
footsteps,
every step James takes there is a beat of a drum. As they enter the grave yard the
camera rises up above the grave stones and shows the vast number of graves. The
camera then moves to the graveyard and whilst this is happening the music is still
the same orchestral music but the beat of the drum is heavier. As the camera
moves over the grave stone American flag, this shows how patriotic this event is.
The effect of this is it hits you as to how many people have died pointlessly and a
feeling of empathy for James because of the loss of his friends. Then James Ryan
falls to his knees in front of one gravestone and he begins to cry. This is a close up
shot of him then the transition begins. The camera falls into James eyes and then
you can hear the ocean, the waves crashing and the sound of engines. This gives
you a feeling of what it is like to be where they are. This sets the scene for this
moment; the camera comes onto a troop carrier, the camera
Descriptive Essay On The San Juan Mountains
Every place has a taste. My highschool tastes bland, and a little bit like a cracker
beginning to go stale. My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has
a taste, but I will never forget the taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains.
The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was
only a few miles away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the
rugged mountain range the highway led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon
me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever discover those hidden valleys
that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs of cloud
above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a
mural, rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could
hear nothing except for the pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the
pines, who shared secrets that nobody but they would ever know. I felt like an
intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home.
Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the
nearest city, the town was butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings
restored from the Victorian era. A two floor hotel, elegant even in it s old age,
announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout brick walls stood
fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the
tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white,
another, the color of dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs
revealed themselves. People of every age packed into the heated pools. A vicious
game of volleyball had commenced, and more people were flocking to the net even
in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street ended, and the
highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley.
At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one
to behold. Ouray spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide,
spreading to the edges until not a shed more could ve been built. But the highway
kept leading, and the car kept
Democritus of Abdera and the Discovery of the Atom
Since the ancient Greek philosopher Democritus of Abdera first discovered the atom,
man s interest in the atom has only increased as studies of it continued. Reaching its
pivotal point of advancement during WW2, as Einstein s work was finally put into
practice as scientists from the U.S detonate the first nuclear weapon, which
unintentionally, later ushers in a cold war. After the cold war, the development of
nuclear power leads to serious complications as several units fail, making people
question its use in modern day society. Democritus of Abdera was a greek
philosopher born around 460 BC, a cheerful and blissful man. He was one of the
two founding fathers of the Atomic Theory. His thought process on the theory, was
that matter was comprised of tiny building particles called atoms. This theory was
widely questionable at this time. As people were not very well accustomed with
accepting new ideas, and/or new concepts of philosophy and science. This theory
was only partially correct, and as scientist of the more modern age began to look
deeper into Democritus s work, they begin to make new theories and hypothesize
new ideas about the atom. Which later on, would lead to the development of the
atomic theory and the most accurate description of the atom with the work of Niels
Bohr. Nearly 2000 years forward, past the philosophies of Democritus, Bohr, and
other atomic theorists, the bloodshed of World War 2 hit its peak. The United States

Archetypes In Theseus And Hercules
An archetype is an original pattern or model in which all things are an imitation or
based off of the original. The word originates back to Ancient Greece where the
prefix means to begin and the suffix means type. There is archetypes in everything,
whether it s in books, plays, or movies. There are many different types of archetypes
like the typical ones which are the heroor the quest. Or the overlooked ones which are
the crossroads, the initiates, or the creature of the night. In the myth Theseus the
young man has to go on a quest to become a hero and make his parent proud. In the
movie Hercules the hero has to go on a journey to show he can become a hero to his
father. In both stories Theseus and Hercules they share symbols, characters, and
situations; Therefore these are perfect examples of archetypes.
During the myth of Theseus the protagonist has to kill an evil beast to prove to his
father he is worthy enough to be his son. In this story, Theseus is the underdog that
wants to become a hero. There is also other archetypes that show throughout the story.
For example the creature of the nightmare is the Minotaur that Theseus is trying to
kill. Also there is symbolic archetypes like the maze which ... Show more content on

story and to the message that is trying to get across. The role they play in people s
lives is necessary to help them to know their stories and by knowing them, to be able
to live them out. Life experiences and learning from mistakes eventually brings the
individual to become aware which roads they want to take again and which ones they
don t want to walk through again. In, conclusion, archetypes are not just a literary
device that shows repetition but also a universal truth and aid for

Abstract
Hamilton (Albert) Fish (1870 1936) was an American serial killer, child rapist, and
cannibal. He was known as the gray man, the werewolf of wisteria, the Brooklyn
vampire, the moon maniac, and the boogey man. Albert (born Hamilton) Fish came
from a family seemingly stricken by mental illness, with six close relative in
mental hospitals. At the age nine his father died, and Fish was sent to an orphanage.
At that point Fish experienced bullying, and whippings from caretakers. It wasn t
until three years later that his mother took on a government job and was able to
take him back. He began a relationship with another boy, where he was introduced to
urine drinking and feces eating. In 1890 he moved to New York, where he became a
prostitute and began raping young boys. At some point he became interested in
penises themselves and began sexual mutilations. In 1917 Fish s wife ... Show more

everything they owned, except for their six children. Soon after Fish began having
auditory hallucinations. At this time Fish began asking his children and their friends

them in his abdomen and groin. After his death, needles were found in his pelvic and

Question 1a. Write a one page concise or two pages double spaced summary
explaining the Federal Reserve.
Basically, the Federal Reserve System is a banking system of the United States. It
was created in 1913, with the enactment of the Federal reserve Act (2014). There are
many responsibilities the Federal Reserves has which include, supervision and
regulation, monetary policy, payment services and finally the financial stability.
President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act, into a law. There are also
many events that led up to the signing of the Federal Reserve Act that stuck out to me.
The money and banking systems weren t the same in Colonial America. Colonial
banks were not allowed to accept deposits from the public or make loans. Instead,
they issued paper currency backed by metals and goals. Colonists were also limited to
using bartering, European coinage as their primary means of exchange. The
legislation created a uniform national currency and permitted only nationally
chartered banks to issue bank notes (2014).
There was a period of a free banking era. There was a huge need for a reliable
banking system during the civil war. Many banks did not keep enough money on
hand to meet the normal demands. People lost their confidence in the banks and then
began to go take their money out. This triggered a succession of bank failures. The
Federal Reserve System had a severe financial crisis, in

Crimes of Heaven:
Defining Arachne and Minerva as a Didactic Work of Mythology
An ancient prose narrative, all versions of Arachne and Minerva warn readers of
the consequences facing those who disrespect the gods by recounting Athena s
actions when faced with mortal hubris. In studying prose narratives, William
Bascom defined a valid myth as one: set in an earlier world, focused on a main
character of a divine nature, and considered sacred and true by its original audience.
Ovid s Arachne and Minerva adheres to Bascom s definition of a myth because it
was viewed as a truthful account of the past, detailed the goddess Athena s true
process of addressing human disrespect, and focused the legitimate divine

Bascom additionally notes that because they take place in an earlier time, a myth can,
...account for the origin... of animals... and the phenomena of nature, (4). Arachne
and Minerva takes an etiologically relates the origin of spiders, created to curse
Arachne, and explaining that they weave webs to remind her of her hubris (Sanan
and van Loveren 153).
For Bascom, a secondary qualification to be a valid myth is that, their main characters
are not usually human beings, but they often have human attributes, animals, deities,
or culture heroes, and here, Athena the goddess behaves like a person would (4). We
see even the goddess of wisdom being prone to jealousy in Athena s internal
monologue, To praise is not enough; I should have praise myself, proving even
Athena can be affected by human hamartias like resentment (Ovid 1). Contrary to
some religious ideals of an immaculate Demiurge, the Greek Pantheon mirrored the
unpredictable nature of Greek society, and thus the gods had supernatural abilities
paired with anthropomorphic personalities. This adds greater importance to Bascom s
criteria of deity characters with human attributes, because these trusted gods
controlled lives of the Greek and Roman people, yet they were just as temperamental
as humanity. Viewing the myth through a euhemeristic lens, it is even possible

The Influence Of The Red Scare
Modern interest in the Red Scare and the long standing efforts to balance liberty and
safety in American history has brought some attention back to the topic of the
Palmer Raids. The infamous nature of American anti communist efforts may have
died out but the language and ideology persists in many ways, particularly in the
post 9/11 and Patriot Act era. Historians have long evaluated the Red Scare and the
influence of the Palmer Raids on America s understanding of ideological regulation.
While some historians look at the influence of certain personalities like J. Edgar
Hoover and A. Mitchell Palmer, others chose to write about the more abstract nature
of civil rights and the controlling influence of the government. They also draw direct

Pandemic Disease In The Medieval World
The interpretations of the Black Death s cause have evolved over time, and due to a
relatively large pool of documentation during the period, many aspects of this plague
have been effectively reevaluated as more knowledge about microbiota and history
surface. Two sources, Pandemic Disease in the Medieval World by Monica Green
and The Black Deathin the Middle East by Michael Dols, written 38 years apart,
shows this trend of knowledge through time.
There are three types of plague, which can be classified as bubonic, pneumonic, or
septicemic. When a plague is said to be bubonic, the defining symptom is buboes,
which are either swollen areas on the skin, or swollen lymph nodes. The buboes are
often found in the armpit, behind the ear, around the groin, or on the neck. The
symptoms match many recollections from writers of the time, such as in Giovanni
Boccaccio s first volume of The Decameron:
The symptoms were not the same as in the East, where a gush of blood from the

Perhaps the most famous is the Black Death, which was the first well documented
pandemic, caused by Y. pestis. Debate about the effects of the disease have been

the most well known being the European death, decimating the population. It was
obvious that even in the fourteenth century, some people open to science were on the
right track to unravelling the mystery surrounding the death of about half of Europe,
plus those to the east. Creating the big picture of not only the effects, but the causes
of the cases around the continents as well, have been foggy. Although the

ability, which they feel powerless to change. They avoid challenges because
challenges make mistakes more likely and looking smart less so. Like Jonathan,
such children shun effort in the belief that having to work hard means they are dumb
. As culture we attribute hard work as weakness towards a subject as a flaw. We
create almost artificial intelligence that help crushing failures instead of praising the
hard work that led to success.
We presume in times of hardships will we simply give up but this is not for the
case for some individuals who have personal faced eras of revolutions and wars
pushed through all the chaos just to continue living not only for themselves as well
as for others. As the British were facing the Blitz the government enforce a
Scarlet Letter Protofeminism
Before there were modern feminist movements like #MeToo and Time s Up, there
were the proto feminists. Protofeminism was the advancement of the women s issues
before the feminist movement of the twentieth century. Despite growing organization
in women s rights groups in the mid to late 19th century, that time period is still
considered to be part of the protofeminist age and is when gendercentric issues were
being brought into mainstream culture, most notably in literature. Nathaniel
Hawthorne, author of The Scarlet Letter, and creator of the infamous Hester Prynne
has often been considered misogynistic, with many using The Scarlet Letter and his
ancestry as their evidence. However, despite his familial ties to the Puritan
community, Hawthorne... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How Can Organizations Shape And Manage Relationship
Inter...
IT BASED VALUE CO CREATION IN HUB SPOKE DYADS
IT based value co creation research is concerned with inter organizational
arrangements and processes in which two or more organizations leverage IT to form
mutually beneficial partnerships or alliances (Grover et al. 2012). In such
relationships, the partnering organizations seek to generate value that is greater than
the value they could create independently by relying upon market mechanisms alone
(Dyer et al. 1998). Based on these premises, IT based value co creation research seeks
to understand and explain how IT can help organizations shape and manage
relationship inter dependencies and associated exchanges (e.g., information flows) to
yield mutual benefits. As such, Kohli et al. (2008, p. 28) suggest co creation
represents the idea that (a) IT value is increasingly being created and realized through
actions of multiple parties, (b) value emanates from robust collaborative relationships
among firms, and (c) structures and incentives for parties to partake in and equitably
share emergent value are necessary to sustain co creation.
Using IT enabled organizational relationships as the unit of analysis, recent studies
have empirically examined how such relationships can yield mutual benefits,
especially in the business to business (B2B) context. Examples include IT based
value co creation in supply chain relationships (Cederlund et al. 2007; Klein et al.
2009; Rai et al. 2012), between platform producers and developers
Modernist Movement in Ford s Good Soldier and Woolf s...
Ford Madox Ford and Virginia Woolf were major contributors to the modernist
movement. They, as well as others (such as James Joyce), were trying something
new, by breaking down the boundaries of traditional writing. Ford s Good Soldier
and Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway are two particular examples of the genre. These novels
were not well received in their own time. As time went on, however, the attitudes of
the literary world changed and were able to finally see these works for what they
really are exemplary pieces of fiction, certainly worth merit.
The Good Soldier was first published in 1915. Rebecca West penned a promising
review for the year, ending with Indeed, this is a much, much better book than any of
us deserve (40). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He questions Dowell s mental balance because he degrades Florence, his wife, for
her indiscretions. Edward Ashburnham is guilty of the very same things, yet he is
still regarded as good people. He also wonders at the meaning of the narrator s nearly
phobic concern with Catholicism, or of the way in which his slurs at Leonora are
justified by her attachment to that persuasion (46).
If the implication is that John Dowell is crazy, Schorer is failing to see other
psychological reasons why a man such as Dowell would think this way. It is evident
that our narrator has not fully processed all of the events before he begins to tell of
them. In addition, Dowell obviously wants to continue thinking highly of
Ashburnham the good soldier, and this completes John s psychological quandary. At
the very least, Schorer recognizes the merit of The Good Soldier, and his essay
appears to understand the deliberate complexities of the novel.
Charles Hoffman likens The Good Soldier to an allegory, the breakup of
civilization itself, heading toward disaster (53). Even while the quartet is falling
apart, however, they still put on the proverbial brave face and, to all outward
appearances, are just fine. This can be applied to the world at large. Ford also
exposes the evil kernel within the hearts of mankind. To others, these are good people,

A Brief Note On The Automotive Engineering Field
One of the most fascinating professions is automotive engineering,it s all about

credit goes to one man. Karl Benz, yes the founder of mercedes benz! In 1885 he

a tiny car only a one or two passenger car. It had three wheels, kinda looked like a

Characteristics Of A Hotel
Nowadays, hospitality is required in the business fields in general such as; hotels.
As we know, in the modern life, there are many of international brands and
competition between hotels. However, there are some qualities we have to
consider before choosing a hotel as a guest or as a job offer to work in it. (Tan,

should have a vision and a mission of his or her work. So, the vision is what a
person wants to achieve in a real life, the mission means what is the purpose of the
business to make money or even to make charity. Following this further, a new

The vision of Westin hotel is to be the most well known hotel in Doha and to gain

Japan And Australia On Population Aging
The Responses of Japan and Australia on Population Aging
As time goes on, more and more countries come into population aging period.
Population aging means the ratio of 65 years or above is over 7%, or the ratio of
60 years old or above is over 10%. Japan has the most serious aging problem in the
world, and as predicted, after several decades there will be no Japanese populations
without taking response measures. Australia also faces with the population aging
problem during recent several years. Aging will lead to the declining of economic
growth and the increasing of pension burden. This essay focuses on comparing the

Those aged above 65 have enlarged from 26.5 million in 2006 to 29.47 million in
2011 (Yoshiko, 2015). By the end of this decade, for each child under 15 years old,
he has to support three pensioners (Patrick, 2010). The birth rate of Japan drops a
lot since the 21st century, so the children and working aged cohorts experience a
sharp decrease, and the elder experience a sharp increase. Ministry of Health,
Labor and Welfare (2011) believes that after a few years, the first group of the baby
boomers will reach their retirement age, which will cause a great increase in the
debt, deficits, and deflation of Japanese government. In order to support its aging
population, Japan has to increase its workforce and productivity. With Japan losing
its workforce gradually, it is hard to keep its status as an economic superpower.
The aged 65 and older population in Australia is about 2.5 million in 2002, which
covers about 12 percent of the total population of Australia. However, the number is
predicted to increase to about 4.2 million in 2021, which covers about 18 percent of
the total Australian population (Department of Infrastructure and Regional
Development, 2005). Now, 14.3% of Tasmania population is over 65 years old and
14.9% of South Australian population is over 65 years old (ABS, 2010). As

Sound Waves Lab
To fully understand how to determine the velocity of sound in air, many concepts
have to be understood prior to the experiment. Sound waves transmitted through a
fluid are a type of longitudinal wave. These mechanical waves are formed when
energy passes through a medium and moves particles in the same direction or
parallel to the energy. The particles move in a series of high pressure and low
pressure regions. The energy will compress some areas of the medium, creating a
high pressure region. In between these high pressure regions will be a rarefaction,
these are the low pressure regions (Figure 1). As the energy moves through the
medium the sections of high and low pressure will move. Through a complete
process the particles move slightly as they will oscillate around their original position.

This is 21m/s below the accepted value of speed in air at 0 в„ѓ. At 24.4 в„ѓ the
accepted value is 345m/s, 35m/s faster than the experimental value. Assuming that the
speed of sound at any temperature can be measured from a simple calculation, this
experiment can be used to measure the frequency of an unmarked tuning fork. By
completing the experiment in the exact same process one can determine the
wavelength. Once the wavelength was determined using the temperature the speed
could be calculated. Both wavelength and speed are variables in the velocity of
sound formula (v = Ж›f ). Using algebra, frequency could be determined by
substituting wavelength and speed. The percent error for this lab could have been
affected by not accurately determining the point of which the sound reached its
loudest point. If the peak of sound was not measured accurately, the experimental
value would be off the actual measurement. This would effect the wavelength which
would in turn directly affect the speed value because the frequency was a given,
constant
The Ethical Issues Of Downloading Pirated Music And Films
We all know that downloading pirated music and films is illegal, but what exactly is
it? The term piracy refers to the copying and selling of music, films and other media
illegally; in other words you are copying and selling copyrighted media without the
permission of the original owner (NiDirect, n.d.). With the massive growth of the
internet and its ability to store and capture vast amounts of data, we have become
much more reliable on information systems in all aspects of life, but it does not come
without the risk of information technology being used unethically. With the number
of IT breakthroughs in recent years the importance of ethicsand human values has
been underemphasised often resulting in various consequences. Not surprisingly one
of the many public concerns about the ethical use of IT is that millions of people
have downloaded music and movies at no charge and in apparent violation of
copyrightlaws at tremendous expense to the owners of those copyrights (Reynolds,
Ethics in Information Technology, 2015). This essay covers the ethical issues of
downloading pirated music and films and the impact it has on music corporations and
recording and film companies.
So what is ethics? George W. Reynolds states that ethics is a set of beliefs about
right and wrong behaviour within a society and that ethical behaviour conforms to
generally accepted norms with almost all of them being universal. As we all know,
certain behaviours such as cheating and lying are

How To Ride A Horse
There are many days that I believe I can just saddle up my horse and ride away into

Analysis Of Francesco Petrach s The Ascent Of Mont
Ventoux
The beginning of the Renaissance brought many changes to the world. It became
known as the Age of Exploration and it brought in a new perspective on art. This
perspective on art is shown through anything from visual arts to literary art. This time
period also introduced the rise of humanism. It brought into the picture a very
optimistic view of humanity. This was shown especially in the work The Ascent of
Mont Ventouxby Francesco Petrarch. This work refers back to Book X of
Confessions by Saint Augustine when Petrarch reaches the top of the mountain.
Although they are both dealing with the same passage, Petrarch and Augustine seem
to interpret it in very different ways. Petrarch wrote the Ascent of Mont Ventoux as a
young man. It is a letter to his former confessor, Dionigi di Borgo San Sepolcro,
because he was in seminary school. The letter is essentially a travel journal about his
journey up Mont Ventoux. Petrarch initially wanted to take this journey with his
friends, but they either refused or were not up to his standards. He decide to just
climb the mountain with his brother. At the beginning of the journey, Petrarch writes
about his encounter with an old, cranky man in the foothills of the mountain. The
man pretty much tells them that it is a dumb idea which just encourages them to
finish the journey even more. They eventually reach the top of the mountain a few
days later. At the top, Petrarch pulls out his copy of Confessions and reads a small
portion. He
Conquering Nature Essay
Conquering Nature
What we call Man s power over Nature turns out to be a power exercised by some
men over other men with Nature as its instrument.
(The Abolition of Man, 420)
Imagine, if you will, a basketball game in which two teams are in the midst of an
intense game. Just because your team knows what it is the other team is doing and
the workings of all their plays does not mean you know how to stop them, let alone
that you are winning. It is the same with Nature. Just because we know how things
work and are able to manipulate certain parts of it for our advantage does not even
begin to imply that we have the capability of possessing it, of conquering it. I don t

Man s conquest of Nature...means the rule of a few hundreds of men over billions
upon billions of men... Each new power won by man is a power over man as well.
Each advance leaves him weaker as well as stronger.
(The Abolition of Man, 421)
Nature is merely our instrument of conquering one another. By manipulating what
already exists, we create everything from nuclear warheads to high speed internet.
The continuous competition between men feeds off of our technological
advancement none of which would be possible without the resources Nature
provides for us. And rather than being grateful for the unequivicable power so
generously offered us by our environment, we instead mock its existence. We distract
from the cunningness and cruelty of our efforts toward mankind by relabeling our
target Nature rather than each other . By convincing ourselves we are somehow
beginning to have Nature within our control and understanding, we forget that
Nature is really only the means, not the end of our conquest. We will not be
satisfied until we have defeated ourselves. As Lewis puts it, Human nature will be
the last part of Nature to surrender to Man. The battle will then be won... But who,
precisely, will have won it? (The Abolition of Man, 421)

The Veldt By Ray Bradbury
The Veldt by Ray Bradbury focuses on the unintended consequences of parents letting
their two children have unregulated use of technology. Bradbury conveys tone
through imagery, diction, similes, and sentence structure. In this story, Bradbury
repeats a set of sentences. He writes a long, smooth, flowing sentence followed by a
series of short, choppy sentences. The long sentence draws the reader into an African
scene, while the short sentences, such as the lions came running at them , abruptly
ends the fantasy and makes the danger of the situation feel quite real (Bradbury).
This creates a tone shift from calm with a sense of amazement to anxious and
fearful. Diction also plays a large role in creating a more dramatic tone shift. Bradbury
Parliamentary Protests Of The United States
The threat presented by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1815 20 was
plagued by weak and divided leadership which limited it from driving results that
met its full potential. However, there were also other factors that served to
undermine progress such as the actions of the government in repressing dissenters
and the low level of available logistical resources .
Evan tells us in Source 3 that the movement lacked coherent leadership. His view
supports the argument for the threat being undermined by the weakness of having
too many orators captivated by the sound of their own voices of whom not enough
bridged the gap between rhetoric and reality. Being unable to convey the actions
people would be required to take for change within their messages reduced the
movement almost to a talking shop of radical leaders, carried away without realistic
planning . We can see the fruits of their failed labours in the way the government had
little difficulty in handling any protests and this repeated derailing meant there was
rarely a leadership united enough to effectively inspire confidence. On the other hand,
Thompson deems radicalism to have assumed more conscious, organised and
sophisticated forms , going so far as to call it a heroic age , which somewhat refutes
the criticisms of inadequacy in the power of the speeches made. Indeed, the reality
that in addition to Norwich and Sheffield: Nottingham, Coventry and Bolton were
also assessed by the authorities as being

Is Jazz Really Dead Essay
Jazz. A label associated with brass, dance and America. A music filled with so
much life and force but to the general appeal, it appears to be dying. Drowning
amongst pop songs and dubstep, it seems that the fate of jazz will resemble the one
of dusty library books that have never seen the time of day. But is Jazztruly dead? Or
does it to quote Frank Zappa just smell funny?
About a century ago jazz was considered as popular music and was considerably the
most influential movement at the time. In 1920, jazz had infected Kansas City and it
could be heard on every corner of each street. It began around the early 1900s, when
African American musicians congregated in the city of New Orleans. In the town of
Storyville, musicians would share and improvise their music. Eventually, some
musicians would leave New Orleans to share the New Orleans music. By the 1920s,
after jazz had entered the vocabulary in 1917, indie music companies began

Even some teenagers disagree with the statement of jazz being dead. I know jazz
isn t dead because a lot of people listen to it. It s just like our generation, we tend to

of a generation so and it s pretty cool, it s funky. says Sabrina, a student who
indulges in chillstep rather than jazz. Other students agree, saying it s not dead but
rather, as Vincent says, it s just not as popular as it used to be.
So maybe jazz isn t dead. Perhaps we mistake the decrease in attention and
exposure for a slow death. The jazz scene might not be as big as it once was, but
music is always changing and jazz was the product of change. It may not top MTV
charts and big bands may seem to be low in number but in my eyes, jazz isn t dying
because as we speak now, a child picks up a saxophone, or a trumpet, or maybe
drum sticks and decides at this very moment that jazz is the one for

In the 1930 s cigarette smoking was looked upon as alluring. The well to do
beautiful, who s who, type of people flaunted their smoking habit. The first
Surgeon General s Report on smoking and health was released in 1964. In today s
society, smoking is not so attractive... It is strange to watch movies of years gone by
when Hollywood stars would pose as smokers in a setting such as a hospital,
restaurant, or airport. While the Marlboro man would ride horseback across the

greatest causes of health related deaths in our country are diabetes, obesity,

aspects of insurance coverage almost unattainable. Many insurance companies raise
premiums every year making it harder and harder for the average worker to cover
costs. Due to averages of $8.1 billion in health costs, including more than $2 billion
in Medicaid, the pharmaceutical companies and medical offices must raise their
costs as well to stay afloat. Some companies are offering their employees a

story that ends with fateful death. Though it only lasts four days, it has been
remembered for hundreds of years. But, who was responsible for the deaths of the
two lovers? Who ended the most well known love story of all time? Was is the
parents of the families, or maybe the Friar who allowed them to get married?
There are three points of their deaths: the foreshadowing, how it happened, and
who was responsible. So, how did the fateful end of Romeo and Juliet come to be,
and how did they actually happen? We know that everything started on that fateful
night , but how did things go south so fast? In quick summary, Romeo and Juliet
meet at a party, but can t be together because their families are sworn enemies. But,
they meet together, fall in love, and get secretly married by Friar Lawrence all in
three days. But trouble arises when Romeo is exiled for killing Tybalt and Juliet is
set to marry Paris, even though she is already is to Romeo. So, she decides she
would rather die than be subjected to marry Paris. So, she asks Friar Lawrence for
something to help her, in which he gives her a potion that will make it seem as if
she is dead, so she will be put in a tomb where she will later awake. Romeo is
supposed to know that she isn t truly dead, but the letter fails to reach him. So, he
buys a poison and rushes to her tomb to say farewell. After killing himself, Juliet

Being A Minority Essay
I reside in one of thee most diverse city, state and district in America. Silver Spring,
Maryland! Surrounded by the atmosphere of the Nation s Capital politics. Yet the
biggest issue that is very dear to my persona is the achievement of minority
scholars in America . Falling into the category of not being very privileged, I beg
to differ what attributes being a minority has . To begin , the acknowledgment of
minorities must be recognized . Where ever around the Globe we derive from .
Minorities carry characteristics of being capable of the following . Open mindedness
, risk taking ,passionate , willingness to succeed and cultural background in their
spirits. If anything this has to do with one of the biggest issues in my hometown .

Perspective is the reason for advancement and innovation . Young passionate
people as myself are the voice of reason . Young people have the power to create .
The resolution to an issue as severe as this relates to exactly what Obama said .
This is where I learned that change only happens when ordinary people get
involved and they get engaged , and they come together to demand it . The
resolution comes from demanding change. Ideas such as creating programs and
workshops for minority students where everyone is accepted. Petitioning to the
school systems around America that the reinforcement of Minority success should
be given to each scholar .By having mentors come together with students in my
district for intimate time to really have discourse about the scholar s future, the
career they would like to be in and how . No matter if the help was denied but that
everyone be granted opportunity . No child should be left behind . I can guarantee
you that most students all around America wouldn t be able to build a resume ,
because help lacks . Coming together as a Country to help everyone become
successful . Till this hometown issue is gone and in every minority based hometown

Effects of the Cold War in Nicaragua Essays
The Cold War was a period in history right after WWII ended and it ended in 1991,
when the USSR broke apart. The conflict was between two types of governments: the
communists and the capitalism (democrats). The USSR represented the communist
side, while the U.S. represented the democrats. Both countries had nuclear weapons
and did not want to fight each other directly because they didn t want a Mutually
Assured Destruction (MAD), so they fought through other countries, by Proxy Wars.
The global tensions in Cold Waraffected a few countries in a couple of regions, for
example Central America. The involvement of the United States aided Nicaragua
economically, militarily, and politically.
When Central America got rid of Spanish Colonial ... Show more content on

BBC, 06 May 2004. Web. 13 May 2014). Since the National Guard didn t have that
many people, they started recruiting farmers who were kicked out because of the
new farming system that the Sandinistas started using. The second group was lead
by a dissatisfied Sandinistas leader, Eden Pastora. He set up two groups in Honduras
called the contras , or counter revolutionary forces. Reagan wanted to support
contras economically and he stated that quite openly; however, a lot of U.S. citizens
did not like that. During that time, in 1985, a war between Iran and Iraq took place.
Even though the U.S. publicly supported Iraq, the government also secretly assisted
Iran. Among those years Iran asked the United States for help with weaponry. It is
illegal to sell weapons to the hostages but Regan still thought it would help him and
the U.S. One of the reasons why he did it was because he wanted to take control in
the problematic Middle East and selling weapons to Iran would improve the relations
with Iran and Lebanon. At the same time Reagan wanted to free the seven hostages
that were held by Iranian terrorist and even though he strongly supported the rule of
not negotiating with terrorists, he broke the rule by supplying Iran with weapons.
After receiving money from Iran, Regan sponsored contras using that money. The
United States had also supplied the contras with weapons and equipment. After the
clandestine deal between the two countries was published in the

Ichika s sister was always worried about her brother. Chifuyu came to him and said
Ichika, what s wrong? You look like you ve seen a ghost. Ichika then said I don t
think so, but I found a file with your name on it, with the letters V.S.S.E, so what
aren t you telling me? Chifuyu sat down next to her little brother and began to talk
with him, Ok Ichika, but you re not going to believe me. Ichika then sat next to her
Try me, I m still a very good listener. He said. Chifuyu then began to tell her story,
Before I came to pilot an IS, I was once an agent of an elite international
intelligence agency, the V.S.S.E, which was short for Vital Situation Swift
Elimination. The agency was involved in eliminating any terrorist threat to the
security of the world. I was a part of the Field Operations Unit which was
comprised of the best agents in the world. After I left the agency, I left most of the

Ichika was shocked about what he heard. Well, now you ve told me. , he said. And
now I want to get back at Phantom Task for what they did. Chifuyu was shocked at

Compare And Contrast Low Carb Diet Vs. Low Fat Diets
Compare and Contrast : Low Carb Diets vs. Low Fat Diets Nowadays health and
weight loss programs has become integrated in many Americans everyday lives.
Two popular ways to lose weight are through, low carb diets like the Atkins diet,
and low fat diets. They both are in sheer contrast when talking about the type of
foods linked to the diet, the low carb diet limits a person to only consuming foods
that are high in carbs, such as rice, bread, and pasta, on the contrary, the low fat diet
only limits a person to consuming foods that are in high in fat like milk, beans, and
meats. Although the two diets sound very different, they share correlations with
each other. The low carb diet and the low fat diet both claim they re a great tool for
weight loss. Even though their goal is to achieve weight loss and good health they
are still very different.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Low fat dieters need some fats in their diet to stay healthy. In an online article, it
was stated that Fats supply energy and essential fatty acids and promote absorption
of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E and K . In contrast with the good fat , there is also
the opposite end of the spectrum which is the bad fat , and has been linked to high
cholesterol and heart disease. It is mostly found in milk and other milk based
products. Therefore, the low fat diet encourages the reduction of saturated fat sense it
is the main cause of high cholesterol
The Rise Of Pollution Levels
There I was in Shanghai, China, staring at the sun as if I were trying to look at a
lamp behind a curtain. The rise of pollution levels in China has intrigued the minds
of people who never even cared about the environment before. The People s Republic
of China is now the largest emitter of CO2 in the world. But of course, this a global
phenomenon: a global phenomenon that in no way started with Chinaas Alanna
Mitchell would agree to. By the end of the 19th century, the powerful duo that was
industrialization and imperialism spread industrial growth from Great Britain to
Southeast Asia. From the opium wars in the mid 19th century to the economic
reforms of 1970s, China has been incorporated into the global economy as the world s
manufacturer. And as we know, modern manufacturing is heavily reliant on fossil
fuels. This has put an immense amount of international pressure on the Chinese to
improve their environmental footprint. But sustainable development needs to start
not just with China, but with all major players in the global economy. Mitchell s
statement, the idea that the planet s future might come down to China s choices is
hard for the West to fathom (102) is not only ironic, but a dangerous idea to accept.
An historical context of China s industrialization and urbanization will show you that
Western interests in China led to its massive carbon emission. Further, the root of the
problem must be solved the way it started, with help from the West.

Teenage Love Essay.pdf

  • 1. Teenage Love Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of "Teenage Love" presents a unique set of challenges. The intricacies of teenage emotions and relationships require a delicate balance between empathy and objectivity. On one hand, the writer must tap into the intensity and passion that often characterize adolescent love, delving into the whirlwind of emotions, insecurities, and self- discovery that come with it. On the other hand, maintaining a level-headed analysis is crucial to avoid veering into overly sentimental or clichГ©d territory. Navigating the complexities of teenage love demands a nuanced understanding of the psychological and social factors at play. One must consider the impact of peer pressure, societal expectations, and the struggle for identity that often defines this stage of life. Tackling these aspects while maintaining a coherent and engaging narrative can be challenging. Furthermore, finding a fresh perspective on a topic that has been explored in countless ways requires creativity and originality. A successful essay on teenage love should go beyond the surface and explore deeper themes, perhaps touching on personal growth, the lessons learned from relationships, or the broader implications of early romantic experiences. Balancing the subjective nature of love with an analytical approach can be a tightrope walk. Striking the right chord between personal anecdotes, research, and a broader societal context requires finesse. Additionally, addressing the potentially controversial or sensitive aspects of teenage relationships without oversimplifying or sensationalizing them adds another layer of complexity. In conclusion, crafting a compelling essay on teenage love demands a blend of emotional intelligence, research skills, and a keen understanding of the broader societal context. It is a challenge that requires the writer to tread carefully between personal experiences and a universal exploration of the topic. • 2. Jesus The Historical And Biblical Survey Of Synchronous Study of Jesus, the historical and biblical survey being synchronous, is not simple. Understanding of the Bible and ascribing to its truths requires not only faith but time and an attentive and open heart willing and ready to listen. Of understanding the authentic Jesus of the Bible, James Breech observes the following: Those who really have something significant to say are usually best able to keep silence. Jesusdoes not impose himself, does not raise his voice, but is keeping silent until the audience is prepared to listen. For those who are willing to pay attention, I hope the voice which originally uttered these parables and sayings will be heard once again, revealing its elusive reality. Until we listen, we will not hear and until

They, along with many other great businessmen, pushed America to become an industrialized country. Rockefeller owned 90% of oil refineries, that is just one example of how the power these industrialists had was unbalanced. The industrialists were egocentric. Money was the focus all across the nation, and it didn t matter who got treated unfairly along the way. In Document A, George states instead of being treated as the common property of the whole people, it is treated as the private property of individuals . Where you find wealth, you will find that the land contains monopolies. Monopolies were becoming more prominent during this time. Rockefeller is the best example of corrupt monopolies. Therefore you d only have one group of people to manage both companies. The reason that is unfair, is because, well there was only one power controlling what needed the control of two. The main goal was to eliminate wasteful competition by sending officers to the companies that he wished to control. In Document C Vanderbilt says The railroads are not run for the benefit of the dear public that cry is all nonsense. The working class were still being paid lower, so they didn t stand a chance. Nothing was for the benefits of the laborers. Especially with Carnegie s policies which called for low wages. You can see in Document I the difference between the value of products and the wage of the workers. The chart speaks for itself. The only ones who were benefitting from these monopolies were the Robber

Since the prisoners have been locked up away for most of their lives they really have know understanding what these shadows are. As James and his family are walking along the path towards the graves a very patriotic orchestral music is being played, the rhythm is based on their footsteps, every step James takes there is a beat of a drum. As they enter the grave yard the camera rises up above the grave stones and shows the vast number of graves. The camera then moves to the graveyard and whilst this is happening the music is still the same orchestral music but the beat of the drum is heavier. As the camera moves over the grave stone American flag, this shows how patriotic this event is. The effect of this is it hits you as to how many people have died pointlessly and a feeling of empathy for James because of the loss of his friends. • 10. Descriptive Essay On The San Juan Mountains Every place has a taste. My highschool tastes bland, and a little bit like a cracker beginning to go stale. My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget the taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains. The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few miles away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the highway led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a mural, rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could hear nothing except for the pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines, who shared secrets that nobody but they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home. Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the town was butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era. A two floor hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white, another, the color of dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs revealed themselves. People of every age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of volleyball had commenced, and more people were flocking to the net even in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street ended, and the highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley. At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a shed more could ve been built. But the highway kept leading, and the car kept
  • 11. Democritus of Abdera and the Discovery of the Atom Since the ancient Greek philosopher Democritus of Abdera first discovered the atom, man s interest in the atom has only increased as studies of it continued. Reaching its pivotal point of advancement during WW2, as Einstein s work was finally put into practice as scientists from the U.S detonate the first nuclear weapon, which unintentionally, later ushers in a cold war. After the cold war, the development of nuclear power leads to serious complications as several units fail, making people question its use in modern day society. Democritus of Abdera was a greek philosopher born around 460 BC, a cheerful and blissful man. He was one of the two founding fathers of the Atomic Theory. His thought process on the theory, was that matter was comprised of tiny building particles called atoms. This theory was widely questionable at this time. As people were not very well accustomed with accepting new ideas, and/or new concepts of philosophy and science. This theory was only partially correct, and as scientist of the more modern age began to look deeper into Democritus s work, they begin to make new theories and hypothesize new ideas about the atom. Which later on, would lead to the development of the atomic theory and the most accurate description of the atom with the work of Niels Bohr. Nearly 2000 years forward, past the philosophies of Democritus, Bohr, and other atomic theorists, the bloodshed of World War 2 hit its peak. The United States of America was caught in a two

Crimes of Heaven: Defining Arachne and Minerva as a Didactic Work of Mythology An ancient prose narrative, all versions of Arachne and Minerva warn readers of the consequences facing those who disrespect the gods by recounting Athena s actions when faced with mortal hubris. In studying prose narratives, William Bascom defined a valid myth as one: set in an earlier world, focused on a main character of a divine nature, and considered sacred and true by its original audience. Arachne and Minerva takes an etiologically relates the origin of spiders, created to curse Arachne, and explaining that they weave webs to remind her of her hubris (Sanan and van Loveren 153). For Bascom, a secondary qualification to be a valid myth is that, their main characters are not usually human beings, but they often have human attributes, animals, deities, or culture heroes, and here, Athena the goddess behaves like a person would (4). We see even the goddess of wisdom being prone to jealousy in Athena s internal monologue, To praise is not enough; I should have praise myself, proving even Athena can be affected by human hamartias like resentment (Ovid 1). Contrary to some religious ideals of an immaculate Demiurge, the Greek Pantheon mirrored the unpredictable nature of Greek society, and thus the gods had supernatural abilities paired with anthropomorphic personalities. This adds greater importance to Bascom s criteria of deity characters with human attributes, because these trusted gods controlled lives of the Greek and Roman people, yet they were just as temperamental as humanity. Historians have long evaluated the Red Scare and the influence of the Palmer Raids on America s understanding of ideological regulation. While some historians look at the influence of certain personalities like J. Edgar Hoover and A. Mitchell Palmer, others chose to write about the more abstract nature of civil rights and the controlling influence of the government. They also draw direct parallels

Pandemic Disease In The Medieval World The interpretations of the Black Death s cause have evolved over time, and due to a relatively large pool of documentation during the period, many aspects of this plague have been effectively reevaluated as more knowledge about microbiota and history surface. Two sources, Pandemic Disease in the Medieval World by Monica Green and The Black Deathin the Middle East by Michael Dols, written 38 years apart, shows this trend of knowledge through time. There are three types of plague, which can be classified as bubonic, pneumonic, or septicemic. When a plague is said to be bubonic, the defining symptom is buboes, which are either swollen areas on the skin, or swollen lymph nodes. The buboes are often found in the armpit, behind the ear, around the groin, or on the neck. The symptoms match many recollections from writers of the time, such as in Giovanni Boccaccio s first volume of The Decameron: The symptoms were not the same as in the East, where a gush of blood from the nose was the plain sign of inevitable death; but it began both in men ... It was obvious that even in the fourteenth century, some people open to science were on the right track to unravelling the mystery surrounding the death of about half of Europe, plus those to the east. • 22. How Can Organizations Shape And Manage Relationship Inter... IT BASED VALUE CO CREATION IN HUB SPOKE DYADS IT based value co creation research is concerned with inter organizational arrangements and processes in which two or more organizations leverage IT to form mutually beneficial partnerships or alliances (Grover et al. 2012). In such relationships, the partnering organizations seek to generate value that is greater than the value they could create independently by relying upon market mechanisms alone (Dyer et al. 1998). Based on these premises, IT based value co creation research seeks to understand and explain how IT can help organizations shape and manage relationship inter dependencies and associated exchanges (e.g., information flows) to yield mutual benefits. As such, Kohli et al. (2008, p. 28) suggest co creation represents the idea that (a) IT value is increasingly being created and realized through actions of multiple parties, (b) value emanates from robust collaborative relationships among firms, and (c) structures and incentives for parties to partake in and equitably share emergent value are necessary to sustain co creation. Using IT enabled organizational relationships as the unit of analysis, recent studies have empirically examined how such relationships can yield mutual benefits, especially in the business to business (B2B) context. Examples include IT based value co creation in supply chain relationships (Cederlund et al. 2007; Klein et al. 2009; Rai et al. 2012), between platform producers and developers

As time went on, however, the attitudes of the literary world changed and were able to finally see these works for what they really are exemplary pieces of fiction, certainly worth merit. Edward Ashburnham is guilty of the very same things, yet he is still regarded as good people. He also wonders at the meaning of the narrator s nearly phobic concern with Catholicism, or of the way in which his slurs at Leonora are justified by her attachment to that persuasion (46). If the implication is that John Dowell is crazy, Schorer is failing to see other psychological reasons why a man such as Dowell would think this way. It is evident that our narrator has not fully processed all of the events before he begins to tell of them. In addition, Dowell obviously wants to continue thinking highly of Ashburnham the good soldier, and this completes John s psychological quandary. At the very least, Schorer recognizes the merit of The Good Soldier, and his essay appears to understand the deliberate complexities of the novel. Charles Hoffman likens The Good Soldier to an allegory, the breakup of civilization itself, heading toward disaster (53). Even while the quartet is falling apart, however, they still put on the proverbial brave face and, to all outward appearances, are just fine. This can be applied to the world at large. Sound waves transmitted through a fluid are a type of longitudinal wave. These mechanical waves are formed when energy passes through a medium and moves particles in the same direction or parallel to the energy. The particles move in a series of high pressure and low pressure regions. The energy will compress some areas of the medium, creating a high pressure region. In between these high pressure regions will be a rarefaction, these are the low pressure regions (Figure 1). As the energy moves through the medium the sections of high and low pressure will move. By completing the experiment in the exact same process one can determine the wavelength. Once the wavelength was determined using the temperature the speed could be calculated. Both wavelength and speed are variables in the velocity of sound formula (v = Ж›f ). Using algebra, frequency could be determined by substituting wavelength and speed. The percent error for this lab could have been affected by not accurately determining the point of which the sound reached its loudest point. If the peak of sound was not measured accurately, the experimental value would be off the actual measurement. This would effect the wavelength which would in turn directly affect the speed value because the frequency was a given, constant

The term piracy refers to the copying and selling of music, films and other media illegally; in other words you are copying and selling copyrighted media without the permission of the original owner (NiDirect, n.d.). With the massive growth of the internet and its ability to store and capture vast amounts of data, we have become much more reliable on information systems in all aspects of life, but it does not come without the risk of information technology being used unethically. With the number of IT breakthroughs in recent years the importance of ethicsand human values has been underemphasised often resulting in various consequences. Not surprisingly one of the many public concerns about the ethical use of IT is that millions of people have downloaded music and movies at no charge and in apparent violation of copyrightlaws at tremendous expense to the owners of those copyrights (Reynolds, Ethics in Information Technology, 2015). This essay covers the ethical issues of downloading pirated music and films and the impact it has on music corporations and recording and film companies. So what is ethics? George W. It became known as the Age of Exploration and it brought in a new perspective on art. This perspective on art is shown through anything from visual arts to literary art. This time period also introduced the rise of humanism. It brought into the picture a very optimistic view of humanity. This was shown especially in the work The Ascent of Mont Ventouxby Francesco Petrarch. This work refers back to Book X of Confessions by Saint Augustine when Petrarch reaches the top of the mountain. Although they are both dealing with the same passage, Petrarch and Augustine seem to interpret it in very different ways. Petrarch wrote the Ascent of Mont Ventoux as a young man. It is a letter to his former confessor, Dionigi di Borgo San Sepolcro, because he was in seminary school. The letter is essentially a travel journal about his journey up Mont Ventoux. Petrarch initially wanted to take this journey with his friends, but they either refused or were not up to his standards. He decide to just climb the mountain with his brother. At the beginning of the journey, Petrarch writes about his encounter with an old, cranky man in the foothills of the mountain. The man pretty much tells them that it is a dumb idea which just encourages them to finish the journey even more. They eventually reach the top of the mountain a few days later. At the top, Petrarch pulls out his copy of Confessions and reads a small portion. He

Bradbury conveys tone through imagery, diction, similes, and sentence structure. In this story, Bradbury repeats a set of sentences. He writes a long, smooth, flowing sentence followed by a series of short, choppy sentences. The long sentence draws the reader into an African scene, while the short sentences, such as the lions came running at them , abruptly ends the fantasy and makes the danger of the situation feel quite real (Bradbury). This creates a tone shift from calm with a sense of amazement to anxious and fearful. Diction also plays a large role in creating a more dramatic tone shift. Bradbury

Parliamentary Protests Of The United States The threat presented by extra parliamentary protest in the years 1815 20 was plagued by weak and divided leadership which limited it from driving results that met its full potential. However, there were also other factors that served to undermine progress such as the actions of the government in repressing dissenters and the low level of available logistical resources . Evan tells us in Source 3 that the movement lacked coherent leadership. His view supports the argument for the threat being undermined by the weakness of having too many orators captivated by the sound of their own voices of whom not enough bridged the gap between rhetoric and reality. Being unable to convey the actions people would be required to take for change within their messages reduced the movement almost to a talking shop of radical leaders, carried away without realistic planning . We can see the fruits of their failed labours in the way the government had little difficulty in handling any protests and this repeated derailing meant there was rarely a leadership united enough to effectively inspire confidence. On the other hand, Thompson deems radicalism to have assumed more conscious, organised and sophisticated forms , going so far as to call it a heroic age , which somewhat refutes the criticisms of inadequacy in the power of the speeches made. Indeed, the reality that in addition to Norwich and Sheffield: Nottingham, Coventry and Bolton were also assessed by the authorities as being

The second group was lead by a dissatisfied Sandinistas leader, Eden Pastora. He set up two groups in Honduras called the contras , or counter revolutionary forces. Reagan wanted to support contras economically and he stated that quite openly; however, a lot of U.S. citizens did not like that. During that time, in 1985, a war between Iran and Iraq took place. Even though the U.S. publicly supported Iraq, the government also secretly assisted Iran. Among those years Iran asked the United States for help with weaponry. It is illegal to sell weapons to the hostages but Regan still thought it would help him and the U.S. One of the reasons why he did it was because he wanted to take control in the problematic Middle East and selling weapons to Iran would improve the relations with Iran and Lebanon. At the same time Reagan wanted to free the seven hostages that were held by Iranian terrorist and even though he strongly supported the rule of not negotiating with terrorists, he broke the rule by supplying Iran with weapons. After receiving money from Iran, Regan sponsored contras using that money. The United States had also supplied the contras with weapons and equipment. After the clandestine deal between the two countries was published in the

  • 46. The Rise Of Pollution Levels There I was in Shanghai, China, staring at the sun as if I were trying to look at a lamp behind a curtain. The rise of pollution levels in China has intrigued the minds of people who never even cared about the environment before. The People s Republic of China is now the largest emitter of CO2 in the world. But of course, this a global phenomenon: a global phenomenon that in no way started with Chinaas Alanna Mitchell would agree to. By the end of the 19th century, the powerful duo that was industrialization and imperialism spread industrial growth from Great Britain to Southeast Asia. From the opium wars in the mid 19th century to the economic reforms of 1970s, China has been incorporated into the global economy as the world s manufacturer. And as we know, modern manufacturing is heavily reliant on fossil fuels. This has put an immense amount of international pressure on the Chinese to improve their environmental footprint. But sustainable development needs to start not just with China, but with all major players in the global economy. Mitchell s statement, the idea that the planet s future might come down to China s choices is hard for the West to fathom (102) is not only ironic, but a dangerous idea to accept. An historical context of China s industrialization and urbanization will show you that Western interests in China led to its massive carbon emission. Further, the root of the problem must be solved the way it started, with help from the West.
