- 1. Technology What doesit do? How was it used? Problems Solutions Lesson learned Mac The Mac has the software neededto create my magazine and it alsoallows me to documentmy workon Bloggerand use other software such as Word, Indesignand Powerpoint. The Mac is alsowhere my workis saved. The Mac was usedto create my magazine using Photoshop.I alsousedit to documentmy progresson my blogandI useditwhen doingmy researchand planning. A problemI foundwhen usingthe Mac was whenI was tryingto do lotsof thingsat once it wasslow.I alsofound that when savingmy workI had to make sure to save it to my documents rather than the desktop because itwas a problem accessingmy workoutside of the classroom. I started savingmy workonto my USB therefore I couldaccess it onother Macs outside of the classroom. Whenthe Mac was being slow I closed of the thingsI was notusing and thissped it upmore. I have learned how to use the Mac properlyand how to use the software on the macs. DSLR camera – Canon1000D The camera takesthe photosand youcan change the brightness dependingon the genre and howyou want the image to look.Youcan alsoput the flashonthe camera to brightenitup. The memory card in the camera stores the photos and thenyou can upload I usedthe camera to take the photosof my modelsformy magazine.I usedthe flash on the camera to make the photos brighter.I usedthe camera ona tripodso it was steady and therefore the photo wasn’tblurry. I alsousedthe camera to take testshots I foundthe camera hard to focus because when I thoughtit was focusedit wasn’tand therefore I had to retake the photos whichtookup more time. Alsowhenthe model moved I had to re- focusthe camera. My peers helpedme to focusthe camera and the models had to stay still whenwe were taking the photos. I have learned how to use the focusand zoomon the camera properly.

From doing thisI can see my progress. Making sure I updatedmy bloggerall the time wasa struggle. I made sure I postedonmy blogevery time I made a change to my magazine. I have learned how to schedule posts and how to uploadlinks and videosto my blog. PowerPoint Powerpointis usedto create different slidesof informationso youcan make a presentation. I used Powerpoint whendoing my equipment postand also as part of my evaluation. I didn’tface any problems using powerpoint. No problems that needed solutions. How to upload a powerpoint to my blog and how to use it effectively. Survey Monkey You can create surveysthat youcan distribute to people. I usedthis to gainaudience researchand feedbackby creating surveys. Getting people to actually answermy questionssoI coulduse the responsesas part of my research. I postedthe linkonsocial mediaand askedpeople to answerit for me. I learnedhow to create a surveyusing survey monkeyand how to create the questions and different waysof respondingto them. Tripod To stand the camera onso the camera is steadywhich helpsreduce I usedthe tripodso I couldkeepa steadyhand whentaking Sometimesit was hardto getthe camera onthe tripod I askedthe teacherfor the part I neededand theyhelped How to put the camera on the tripodand how to extend it andfoldit

I usedishowu as part of my evaluation where Ishow whatdifferent technologiesI usedwhen creatingmy magazine such as photoshop and the different websites.The examinercan thensee how I createdmy magazine. I had never usedishowu before soit tooka bitof gettingused to and alsoit was hardto record with the noise in the room. When recordingI wentintoa quite place so the noise wasn’tso loud.I watcheda tutorial on how to use ishowusoI couldlearn how to use it. I have learned how to use ishowuand how to record my voice and record the screenat the same time. iPhotoor image capture Image Capture allowsyouto save the imageson your screento your desktop. I screen grabbedmy magazine production everytime I made a change so I could I didn’thave any problems otherthan remembering whichbuttons to use. No solutions. I have learned how to scree grab.

I learnedhow to use Prezi and how to uploaditto my blog. Social media It allowsyou to keepin touch withthe outside world and itallows youto share thingswith others. I usedsocial mediato gather researchand audience feedback.I used Facebookto see what people thoughtof my work. I couldn’tlog on to Facebookat college to screengrab the responses. I had to screen grab themat home on my phone and uploadthem to the Mac. I learnedthat social mediais a good wayof gaining audience feedbackad research. Excel/Word Word isused to create documents such as essays. I usedwordto fill inthe detailson some of the researchposts such as locationrecce and risk assessment.I alsoused wordas part of my evaluation. No problems No solutions because Ihad no problems. I learnedhow to uploada word documentto my blog.
