5. Using Microsoft Word
In Microsoft Word students can create
graphic organizers, for example a cause and effect
chart using the shape tools.
Students also can edit their paper for
grammatical mistakes by typing the in Word.
Students can also make character analysis
charts by drawing a stick figure using the shape
tools, and inserting pictures from clip art.

6. Microsoft PowerPoint
In Microsoft PowerPoint students can create focused
presentations.
Students can organize information for presentations on
any assigned topic, add graphics, and animation.
Students learn essential technology skills needed for
college and the workforce; they also practice public
speaking.

7. Microsoft Publisher
In Microsoft Publisher, students can make pamphlets that you can
adapt to math, reading, social studies, or science.
For example a students can make a pamphlet on area, and give a
definition in one section, insert a picture in another, tell how to
solve a problem in another, tell how it’s used in the real world in
another, etc.
Pamphlets allow students to create something that they can
handout or keep as a study guide. Students tend to work harder on
something they enjoy doing, and view as meaningful.

8. Microsoft Excel
 Excel is a spreadsheet that lends itself to many uses:
 Making graphs: In math students can make graphs
of different things depending on age level.
 Students can make a graph of temperatures, and
temperature changes throughout the month.
 Student can insert data into cells apply formulas,
find sums, averages and display their information in
a graph.

9. Teacher Preparation
To make technology integration effective you should be
prepared with a “-what to do in case” list printed out
for students, along with instructions.
If this is something you’re doing for the first time, expect
there to be a lot of questions; you may be discouraged
but students learn technology quickly if they’re
interested.

Technology can be an asset to any
subject all that’s needed is creativity,
know how, and a can do attitude. If
you don’t know how to do something
there’s a great possibility that
someone has made a tutorial on it
and placed it online.
