The OptiMN Impact Home was designed by the University of Minnesota and Urban Homeworks to be affordable, energy efficient, and easily constructed on infill lots in North Minneapolis. It meets both DOE Zero Energy Ready Home criteria and Green Homes North affordability standards. Key aspects include exterior insulation, high-performance windows, an integrated HVAC system, and a ventilation system to promote indoor air quality. With and without solar panels, it achieves HERS scores of 32 and 0 respectively, and estimated energy costs of $93/month without solar and $10/month with solar.
