Teaching Essay Writing To High School
Students
Crafting an essay on the subject of teaching essay writing to high school students poses a unique
set of challenges. Firstly, there is the delicate balance required in tailoring the content to suit the
age group. High school students have diverse backgrounds, interests, and learning styles, making
it crucial to develop a writing guide that resonates with this wide spectrum.
Addressing the developmental stages of high school students is another hurdle. As adolescents
undergo significant cognitive and emotional changes, the essay should be structured in a way
that accommodates varying levels of maturity and comprehension. Striking the right chord
between simplicity and complexity becomes pivotal to ensure that the information is accessible
yet intellectually stimulating.
Furthermore, capturing the attention of high school students, who often contend with numerous
distractions, necessitates a creative and engaging approach. Incorporating relatable examples,
real-life scenarios, and interactive elements can make the learning experience more enjoyable and
effective. Balancing the technical aspects of essay writing with an appeal to the students'
interests requires finesse to create a harmonious blend that fosters both skill development and
engagement.
In addition to the pedagogical aspects, there is the challenge of staying abreast of evolving
educational methodologies and technologies. Integrating modern tools and resources into the
essay writing process can enhance the students' experience and keep the content relevant.
However, adapting to these changes and ensuring the essay provides timeless insights is a
complex endeavor.
Despite these challenges, the intrinsic reward lies in equipping high school students with a skill
that transcends academic boundaries. The ability to articulate thoughts coherently in writing is a
valuable asset, fostering critical thinking and effective communication.
In conclusion, navigating the intricacies of crafting an essay on teaching essay writing to high
school students requires a nuanced approach. It involves understanding the diverse needs and
developmental stages of the students, incorporating engaging elements, and staying attuned to
the dynamic landscape of education. Successfully addressing these challenges can contribute to
shaping proficient and confident writers among high school students.

The Effects Of Dementia On Alzheimer s Disease And...
The Effects of Dementia Alex Guthrie University of Tennessee Chattanooga
Introduction Dementia is a chronic illness that effects millions of Americans
annually with increasing numbers. The general understanding of dementia is that it
affects the mind, and while it does affect the mind, entangles much more than just
that. Dementia engulfs a patient s mind, family, a level of caregiving, and an
involvement in research of the disease. The Mind Adults age 65 years and older
make up around 13 percent of the population (39 million people). This number is
likely to increase significantly over the next 30+ years to encompass about 20
percent of the population (88.5 million). It is gathered that about 1 in 10 adults age 65

Behavioral changes can include increased aggression and disruptiveness. This
behavior can almost be perceived as a deterioration or demotion in a person s
maturity. While it most certainly is not, it happens in a way that an individual
seemingly regresses in their decision making and maturity. It is theorized that some
of the behavioral research done on other populations of similar behavioral
competency (child like behavior) could be done on an elderly population suffering
from the behavioral regression of dementia. There has been little research such as this
done, however. Currently, there is no cure for dementia. There are some drug
therapies that are currently in use to help increase the chemical acetylcholine in the
brain in an attempt to aid in memory retention and judgement. A few drugs in the
class are: Donepezil, Rivastigmine, and Galantamine. These have been attempted
treatments for the disease, but have had mixed results. In some cases such treatments
have come up short, and in drastic cases, these treatments have made matters worse
for some patients. Some of these treatments have been known to cause confusion,
delirium, and even increased risk of mortality. An alternative to these medicinal
treatments have been almost strictly environmental. This has been through the
application of behavior analytic principles that help see future problems before they
arise. This application also allows for an more individualized care plan for
Jean-Paul Marat
Death Portraits of Jean Paul Marat The French Revolution one of the most important
significant events in European history, which lead to the end of European monarchy.
The French Revolution effected the way Europeans used to think giving of the sense
of hope and liberty from monarch s or nobles. Thanks to the theories of radical
journalists and politicians whom started to publish their thoughts about the French
monarchy government, and the leaders of the corrupted government people started to
speak more freely about the aristocrat class. One Jean Paul Marathad been one of
those journalists who would speak and write his thoughts about the French monarchy
he played a very important role in the making of the French Revolution. However, the
amount trouble one gets to speak freely two hundred years ago differs from the
modern day freedom of speech one gets; and Marat s radicalism against the French
monarchy head resulted in his death. As a result, Marta s death grams the attention
of two artists that try to capture the moment of Marat s death by drawing a portrait
of his death. The first artist to draw a portrait of Marat s death was a French artist
Jacques Louis David in 1793 who named the painting The Death of Marat. Another
artist that painted a painting capturing Marat s death had been a Norwegian painter
called Edvard Munch the painting was painted more than one hundred years after
Jacques painting, and it was also called The Death of Marat. The similarities and

Introduction During this semester I traveled with the North Carolina State
University s Environmental Technology and Management program ET 201 class,
under the direction of Dr. Teresa Litzenberger, to Little Rock Creek in Raleigh
North Carolina. Little Rock Creek is a small stream located in southeast raleigh
near the Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Located in a watershed of approximately
705.879 acres, the creek looks like an upside down uppercase L from a map
perspective. The creek floor is sandy with a few small rocks (cobblestone) in areas.
The streamhas plenty of tree cover to provide shade. However, the lack of large
trees encourages the curves in the creek to widen which allows the water to slow
down and create pools throughout the creek. According to Title 15A of the North
Carolina Administrative Code, Rule .0302 contains the classifications for waters
located within the Neuse River Basin (15A NCAC 02L .0312). Little Rock Creek,
however, is not classified and therefore follows Rule .0301 which simply states that it
should carry the classification of the stream to which it is a tributary (.
Assessment and Methodology The Rapid Stream Assessment Technique (RSAT) uses
data measured in the field to determine a stream s condition. These data fields include
channel stability, channel scouring or sediment deposition, physical instream habitat,
water quality, riparian habitat conditions, and biological indicators of
macroinvertebrates. The RSAT ranking for each
Short Story Endings In Short Stories
Closure and Endings found in Short Stories Every story must start somewhere, but
not every story has to have a complete ending, or even a clear one. With the
development of the short story, the variation between short story endings has
gradually increased as time has gone on, like the difference between a final ending
in Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find or John Cheever s The
Swimmer. However, the endings of some short stories also depend on the style of
how the story is written, like Amy Tan s Two Kinds, which is a part of a larger
novel, and Kate Chopin s The Blind Man, which is a new branch of short fiction
writing called microfiction. The ending also comes about based on the subject
matter found in the story. For example, Tan is a second generation Chinese
American like her character, June, in Two Kinds. Cheever lived through the Great
Depression, and his family went through a similar fall from grace like his character
Neddy did in The Swimmer. They say to write what you know, and these authors
come to their endings through their own experiences and the type of style that they
write in. Flannery O Connor was a writer on rented time. Confined to her house
throughout the final days of her illness, critics theorize that she spent a good amount
of time thinking about how her life was coming to a close. Andre Bleikasten, author
of Beginnings and Endings in Flannery O Connor, believes that the reason why many
of her stories end with such a finality
NASCAR and the Temperance Movement Essay
How would you like to go over 100 mph and make a living doing it? The event I am
researching is NASCAR. NASCAR is which a multibillion dollar industry they race
1500 races a year in 39 states and 100 tracks. NASCAR is the 2nd most watched
sport in the United States. The major race series they are the sprint cup series,
nationwide series, and the camping world truck series. NASCARis the largest
sanctioning body of stock car racing in the United States. NASCAR headquarters are
located in Daytona Beach Florida. The temperance movement is what started the
prohibition. The temperance movement of the 19th century was a movement that

Dale Earnhardt was one of the best drivers in the sport. Earnhardt won a total of 76
races. Earnhardt was known for his aggressive driving style that s why he got the
nickname the intimidator . He earned 7 Winston cup championships an tie with
Richard petty. On February the 18, 2001 he was involved in a crash he lost his life of
basilar skull fracture. When he died that day a piece of NASCAR also died that day.
Richard lee petty grew up in level cross North Carolina. Growing up Richard was
destined to be a NASCAR driver just like his father. Richard began his professional
driving carrier in 1958. Nicknamed the king he has won 200 NASCAR races holding
numerous victories at the Daytona 500 and the Winston cup.
Modern day NASCAR hasn t really differed that much. It is said the best NASCAR
driver today is Jeff Gordon. Jeff Gordon was born on august the 4 1971 in Vallejo,
California. Gordon started driving when he was five years old. Preforming laps on a
makeshift track. Gordon won rookie of the year in 1991 in NASCAR. He was the
first race car driver to win $100 million dollars in cup winnings in 2011. He placed
third on NASCAR all time win list. The next driver is debatable the best NASCAR

Group Observation Strategies
Ellie is a 14 year old 9th grader. Ellie just moved from a small town in Oklahoma to
Phoenix, Arizona. Ellie has an older sister, and two younger brothers. Ellie loves
art, and can be found doodling all the time. Ellie also likes to listen to music, and
has her headphones in whenever she has the opportunity. Ellie likes to keep to
herself, and doesn t often talk with other students. Ellie does really well at
completing work independently, and tests on grade level. I am worried about Ellie,
because her introverted behavior is beginning to cause disruptions with other
classmates. Group work is required in my class, and not talking with others in class
is affecting her grade. Other students do not want to work with Ellie, because she
doesn t talk with others or pull her weight in group assignments. Ellie s goals are to
increase her participation in discussions, and interact effectively with group activities
(discussions, peer editing, writing workshop, etc.).... Show more content on

This strategy uses peers to reinforce behavior. Group contingency can have a
reward for reaching the goal, or a punishment for not reaching the goal. I would
choose dependent group contingency for Ellie. This means that Ellie or her group
would earn a privilege by demonstrating appropriate group behavior. I think this
would work well for Ellie, because it would raise her social status with her peers.
Her peers would become encouragers for her. This could also help Ellie connect with
her peers, and build positive relationships. If effective, this strategy will help Ellie
increase her participation in discussions, and her ability to interact effectively in a
Tamilnadu Power Crisis Reason
Abstract : In this paper, I have made an attempt to study the present power situation
in Tamil Nadu, a state that has attracted plenty of FDI in power critical industries.
Presently, the environment is conducive for big companies to invest in Tamil Nadu.
However, there are many challenges to ensure that the requirements are met both for
domestic and industrial application. The study examines the current scenario and
provides detailed inputs on the various means for providing power. Electric power

critical for economic development of the State.Growth in power consumption is an
indicator of industrial,agricultural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The increase in power consumption was not thought through in their opinion and
there is also a feeling that multinationals are being given power at the expense of
domestic companies. While there may be no basis for such a view, it does indicate
that the state government has laid the ground for a potentially explosive situation
on the power front. Perhaps it was against this background that the state only made
a few feeble noises about bidding for the Nano project which eventually went to
Gujarat. The major reasons for the power crisis in Tamil Nadu are the following: 1.
Absence of a long term vision to increase availability of power by capacity addition
and encouraging private investment in power generation compared to other states,
over the last 10 years. 2. Overdependence on outside sources. 3. Considerable
dependence on wind energy which is highly seasonal in nature and therefore not
completely reliable. 4. Failure to reduce power transmission losses in the last 10
years Detailed explanation: 1. Lack of long term vision: The following stats
demonstrates how the gap between requirement and availability of power in Tamil
Nadu has altered significantly in comparison with other industrialized states between
2003 04 and 2010 11 Comparing this with the situation in 2003 04, it can be seen
that the status of deficits in most of the states was the same, except in Tamil

Epic Theatre By Bertolt Brecht
Bertolt Brecht was the pioneer of a new style of theatre, epic theatre. Epic theatre
differentiates itself from Bertolt s previous influences by presenting a series of
loosely connected scenes that avoid illusion and often interrupt the story line to
address the audience directly with analysis, argument, or documentation. He sought
to remind the spectator that the play is an illustration of the playwright s point of
view rather than a slice from reality. This made audiences react with curiousity and
participate in a dialogical argument criticising their own life and what they could do
to change it rather than an emotional and empathic response that accepts events in
the play as a slice of reality, accepted as the norm. He wanted his audiences to adopt
a critical perspective in order to recognise social injustice and to go forth and
transform the reality.
Bertolt utilised specific techniques to intentionally disillusion the audience
throughout the play. One of the main techniques that Bertolt utilised was exposing
the construction and mechanisms of theatre to the audience. By emphasizing the
spectator s awareness of the methods of its production, his shows aimed to expose the
contradictions between the characters ideology and purpose. Such techniques
included flooding the stage with harsh white light, regardless of where the action was
taking place, and leaving the stage lamps in full view of the audience; making use of
minimal props and indicative scenery; intentionally
Skipper Butterfly Research Paper
The Skipper Butterfly is in the family Hesperiidae. They have a wingspan of 29 to
31 millimeters, 1.14 to 1.22 inches, and are 2.5 to 6 inches, 6.604 to 15.24
centimeters, in length. This butterfly s appearance is different than other
butterflies in many ways. The antennae club is hooked backwards like a crochet
hook while the typical butterflies have club like tips to their antennae. They have
stockier bodies and larger compound eyes, and they have stronger wing muscles in
the plump thorax, resembling many moths than the other two butterfly lineages,
which are Rhopalocera and Papilionoidea. Their wings are usually smaller than
their bodies and when at rest they are angled upwards or spread out and rarely
folded up completely. Their wings are more well rounded with less sharply tipped
forewings. They either have prominent hindwing tails or more angled wings. They
come in the colors of browns and grays; some are more boldly black and white....

Cave crickets have very large hind legs with drumstick shapes femora and equally
long, thin tibiae, and long, slender antennae. The antennae are closely apparent and
next to each other on the head. They are a brownish color and humpbacked in
appearance, always wingless, and the bodies of early instars may appear
translucent. Most cave crickets favor cool/damp places like caves, rotten logs,
underneath leaves or rocks and will not reproduce indoors unless they find
continuous darkness, and moist conditions. Living in perpetual darkness, as deep
in caves, may have reduced and missing eyes and often have long slender limbs.
Most of these crickets are omnivorous and will eat on most anything organic. Most
will catch and eat other smaller animals when they can. If they are in houses, they
may chew on paper products and occasionally fabric. They can grow up to 5 cm in
body and 10 cm for the legs. They are found worldwide and is widespread in North
America, south of Arctic
Why A Thesis Statement Is Important
Why is a thesis statement the important item of your document? A Thesis statement
is the representation of a theory, which requires your statements to be explained in
full details. Also, a thesis statement could well be stated during the introduction of
your topic for your claim or research. Many reference the thesis statement such as a
hypothesis statement. Depending on the Individual preference, the word thesis may
be reference as such: hypothesis, theory, argument, idea, claim, and premise. When
creating your document whether is a claim or research document, it is crucial to have

individuals prefer this method when writing the thesis statement. Also, this type of
writing technique was developed as early as my elementary, middle school, and high
school years. Also, through all my job positons, I worked on efficiencies which
includes creative writing skills. I enjoy writing, and developing new creative

mentioned creating a thesis statement is crucial. First, state your introduction with an
attention grabber. Second, state your strong detailed thesis statement. Third, state
your three main reasons supporting your thesis statement. The reasons can be
referenced as premises or evidence. This should be should be your first paragraph,
which gives structure. Many
The Similarities And Differences Between The Chesapeake...
During the late 16th century and into the 17th century, two colonies emerged from
England in the New World. The two colonies were called the Chesapeake and New
England colonies. Even though the two areas were formed and governed by the
English, the colonies had similarities as well as differences. Differences in
geography, religion, politics, economic, and nationalities, were responsible for
molding the colonies. These differences came from one major factor: the very reason
the English settlers came to the New World.
The Chesapeake colonies were
primarily created by companies interested in profiting from the natural resources
of the New World such as gold or silver to bring back to England. The New England
colonies were primarily created to escaped religious persecution and set up a
haven for people of their faith. The inhabitants of the New England area were far
healthier. Their clean water supply was a sharp contrast to the contaminated
waters of Chesapeake Bay. The cool climate had a good impact on colonists
because it prevented the spread of life threatening diseases. Because of New
England s cool climate, many people died during severe winters. Chesapeake s
climate had positive and negative factors as well. The warm, moist climate in the
Chesapeake colonies carried diseases that killed many of the colonists. In contrast to
the New England colonists, the Chesapeake colonists did not have to worry as much
about surviving cold winters. The natural resources of the
How Media Has Impacted Growing Up With A Measuring
Body Image
In this advertisement it shows a little girl measuring herself with a measuring tape.
By looking at this image, it already outlines that we as society relay on having the
perfect ideal women body, which is being thin and skinny. Society also implies that
valuing body image and perfection is significant that children at a very young age
are already influenced negatively growing up with a corrupted mindset. The little
girl in the photo is already measuring her waistline with a measuring tape at such a
young age. She is already feeling like she must be skinny to fit into society and is
conscious of her size, teaching her that she must look a certain way. The issue is that
in society the media has advertisements, commercials and magazines that portray
standards such as women being thin, tall and skinny. This according to the Western
countries is having the perfect body image. The media shows such unrealistic images
to consumers such as these young girls to try to appear like these ideals that are set
for them from society that potentially be harmful and unhealthy which could lead to
death because of starvation leading to possible long term health disorders such as
anorexia, bulimia nervosaand nervosa. My opinion on this issue is those who are
suffering with low self esteem shouldn t do such horrific acts like starvation or
dieting just to be accepted in society because they feel too fat or they do not meet
the societal standard of being perfect. Girls should relay on the ideal

Certain things the creators do will either help entice the audience, or will deter the
audience from ever looking at the ad again. The general public will see thousands

memorable. When creating an ad for a magazine; some of the simplest mistakes can

lower left corner of the ad there is an average sized, red and white Miller logo. To
the right of the logo is another slogan, that is in cursive and regular sized font.
Below that is another slogan in small font. This ad s visual design doesn t work
because there is too much for the reader to focus on in this ad. The creators hoped
to use the contrast of the color product in the foreground of the black and white
photograph to bring focus to the product. However, the exact opposite is what
ensues. The black and white photo along with the large bold text in the lower center
actually draws the audiences attention away from the product. The reader could look
at this ad and not even notice the colored in Miller High Life bottle. The colored
product is also too large, and it ruins any symmetrical balance. Furthermore it is
covering the second woman, and bringing her out of focus. This gives the reader the
impression that she is not important. The audience will suffer the most from

The Development of the Tuberculosis Vaccine
Introduction:
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of mortality in all over the
world. The infection caused by M. tuberculosis is commonly known as tuberculosis
or TB. According to a CDC report, in 2012, approximately nine million patients were
infected globally with TB and the fatality was around 1.3 million1. It is estimated
that nearly one third of the global population is infected with TB.
M. tuberculosis was first described by Robert Koch in the year 1882 as the tubercle
bacillus . The bacterium belongs to a special group of microorganisms that contain
a thick, waxy, lipid rich layer of mycolic acid on their cell surface. The mycolic acid

therapy is due to inadequate administration of the antibiotics. Drug resistance has
become such an extensive problem now, that there are multiple categories of drug
resistance TB, such as, Multi drug resistant TB (MDR TB) and Extensively drug
resistant TB (XDR TB).
MDR TB is defined as a form of TB that is resistant to the two most potent TB
antibiotics, isoniazid and rifampin. MDR TB is mostly associated with secondary
resistance 5. MDR TB spreads in the same manner as sensitive TB from one person
to another. MDR TB arises due to the bacteria starting to synthesize drug degrading
enzymes or drug efflux or due to spontaneous mutations. In order to treat MDR TB,
community based therapeutic approaches with programs such as MDR TB specific
Directly Observed Therapy Short Course (DOTS) Plus holds promise 6. Another
approach follows therapy with second line antibiotics, however those are more
expensive and have notable side effects. MDR TB is believed to have a mortality rate
of 80%.
XDR TB is a more aggressive form of TB that has actually arisen from inadequate
use or misuse of MDR TB drugs. This form of TB involves infection with M.
tuberculosis that has acquired resistance to not only the first line of anti TB
antibiotics like isoniazid and rifampin along with any member of quinolones but also
to at least one member of second line of

Freud Vs Erikson Research Paper
In the theory of development, it appears that Sigmund Freud and Erik Erikson had
two different ideas in the way that we develop from childhood to adult. Although
Sigmund Freud development his theories first, many like Erik Erikson started with
Freud s ideas and altered for this own idea. Freud had a more sexual type theory
about development. He identified Oral, Anal, Phallic, Latency, and Genital and
development type stages. As Oral age development was between zero and one year
old, Anal between one and three years old, Phallic as three to six years old, Latency
between six and twelve years old, with Genital being twelve and up. Each level was
fixate around an erogenous zone, mouth, anus, genitals. Erikson modified the

Similarities Between Locke And Thomas Hobbes
The English revolutionaries, found in Parliament, believed that kings were subject
to be law as well as them, and followed a principled course in order to These
revolutionaries had certain principles they followed, and people who preached
principles. Thomas Hobbes, who believed in absolutism, and constitutionalism, and
John Locke, who preached for national rights . Throughout the years, there are many
different arguments between kings and Parliament over these principles. The first
argument arose with James I and Parliament in 1597. The second arose with Charles
I and Parliament in . During this argument, Oliver Cromwell the new model army
emerged. The next argument between Parliament and a king was versus Charles II.

He repeatedly dismissed Parliaments only to find the next more exacting demands
(Political Liberty 2). Charles I constantly quarreled with Parliament, over many
different things. Parliament, fed up with Charles I, passed the Petition of Rights. In
this document, Parliament laid out all the ideas and principles they believed the
King should follow, and the rights the people should have. Some of these principles
and rights included that no free man may be taken or imprisoned... but by the lawful
judgement of his peers or by the law of the lands.... No man of what estate or
condition that he be, should be pitout of his land or tenements... without being
brought to answer due process of law.. (Political Liberty 2). Although the attempt by
Parliament to create a more equal society was strong, Charles I dissolved the Petition
of Rights. After realizing the King could just abolish their petitions, Parliament came
up with the idea of Long Parliament. Long Parliament was dominated by
Presbyterians, who wanted a toleration from religious sectaries. During the Civil
Wars in England, Oliver Cromwell created the New Model Army in England. When

Public Health Surveillance Systems
Discuss the public health surveillances system in terms of: 1. What are the
requirements; 2. Its potential functions; 3. Potential ethical issues; and 4. Its
application/ usefulness in public health practices/ investigations.
Public health surveillance is the continuous, systematic collection, analysis, and
interpretation of health related data needed for the planning, implementation, and
evaluation of public health practice (WHO. n. d.). the following context will
separately describe the system in terms of requirements, potential functions, potential
ethical issues and the application in public health investigations.
пЃ¬The requirements
Organized surveillance requires collection of data, analysis of data, interpretation,
dissemination of data and link to public health action.
пЃ¬The potential functions
The function of surveillance are describing and supervising health events, priorities
setting, planning assistance, implementation and evaluation of public health
interventions and programs.
пЃ¬The potential ethical issues
The origin of significant potential ethical issues should be data collection and usage
of surveillance and registry data, including loss of secrecy and the harm result of
violation of confidentiality.
пЃ¬The application in public health investigation
There are three main applications in public health investigation. Firstly, supervising
health events include detecting sudden changes in disease incidence and distribution,
following long term trends and factors
Bernie Madoff s Ponzi Scheme
Fraud Assessment A Ponzi scheme is an investment fraud that involves the payment
of purported returns to existing investors from funds contributed by new investors
(Ponzi Schemes 2013). Ponzi schemes enable fraudsters to approach victims and
solicit funds from them by guaranteeing that their low risk investments will yield
high rates of return. In return, investors receive dividends paid by the fraudster from
the funds solicited from newer victims. The attraction of new victims enables the
fraudster to make dividend payments to his or her older investors, which stimulates
the legitimacy of the investment company. A prime example of a Ponzi scheme is

Like other fraudsters, Ponzi schemers require a financial pressure not solvable by
legal means as motivation to commit fraud. Financial pressures for Ponzi schemers
range anywhere from maintaining a luxurious lifestyle to simply improving wealth.
Scott Rothstein stole $1.4 billion from Florida residents to compensate his
extravagant lifestyle. Opportunity for fraud occurs when their current position
enables them to commit fraud and they are able to keep the illegimate activities
hidden. Most Ponzi schemers are in positions that allow them to knowledgably
commit fraud. Investment brokers are not the only individuals who commit Ponzi
schemes. Gerald Payne was a church pastor who stole $20 million and deposited
funds under the $10,000 limit into personal bank accounts. When the crime is
complete, fraudsters justify to themselves why it is acceptable. Since there is a
constant flow of money, Ponzi schemers believe the mentality that no one is getting

Furthermore, it has also been suggested that Nike should make public all its audit. A
lot of focus is given to wage rates paid by the company s suppliers. By and large,

Workplace Violence Level
There are several levels of workplace violence. Level one is being disrespectful to
other co workers, not cooperating, verbally abusing others, or simply intimidating
and manipulating them. For level of workplace violence, an employees should report
this, and seek help responding to the situation. If the person is the supervisor, you
report it to upper management and appropriate response action should take place. As
upper management you should meet privately with the accused individual, and ask
the employee for their side of the story. Reiterate what is acceptable behavior within
the company, and correct the issues they may have. (U.S. Department of Labor,
2016). The second level will be escalation. The employee may begin to argue with

Comparing The Final Girl In Psycho And A Nightmare On

Lastly, the use of the final girl in both films are very different. In Psycho, Hitchcock
uses both Marion and Lila as his final girls. Though both hold different characteristic
traits, and one character dies early in the film, Hitchcock also has a male character
save the final girl against the villain rather than having her face him alone. This
differentiates against the filmA Nightmare on Elm Street because Nancy finds her
inner demons and faces Freddy Krueger alone in her dreams. She not only grows
the strength to put her fears aside but she kills him with the satisfaction that he
finally means nothing to her and that he is worthless. Craven s depiction of the final
girl is much more closely related to how this character is portrayed in slasher films
now a days.

change into a brave character who is not scared of a psychopath killer. Critic Jane

The Role Of Modern Medicine In The Killer Angels By
Robert...
Modern medicine is a fascinating thing. Since the development of medical
technology, the total mortality rate has dropped immensely, while the percent of
medical care has skyrocketed. There is a clear correlation between the two. But
medicine has taken a long time to develop. During the civil war, people died from
things that seemed so simple, like diarrhea. As the book The Killer Angels shows,
many brave men lost their lives to many different afflictions, including gunshot
wounds, disease, and botched surgery. In the book The Killer Angels, Robert E
Lee described as a bold, honorable, and religious man. He is seen as a risk taker and
would do anything if it means winning the war. But there was one disease that Robert

Stuttering In The King s Speech
The King s Speech (2010) follows King George VI, referred to as Bertie throughout
the film, as he seeks stuttering treatment while managing his increasing
responsibilities in the years preceding World War II. One of the ongoing thematic
elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle with his self
confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship
magnify his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self
perception to the manner in which his stutteringwas perceived by those around him. In
a few instances, Bertie mentions that his stuttering has always been particularly
difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In one of the few scenes
with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie. While he
initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice,
this attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost
immediately upon sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it
out , and even at one point angrily tells his son to relax. A second scene involved
Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to mocking his stuttering and was
even encouraged to do so by their father. As adults, Edward resorts to mocking Bertie
when faced with criticism. Given the negative attitudes of his family members
towards his stuttering, it is understandable that these attitudes contributed so
Symbolism And Irony In Trifles
In the dram Trifles Glaspell uses symbolism and irony to prove how men s lack of
empathy toward women cause their downfall. This is the investigation drama where
some officers are investigating a crime scene where a woman, Mrs. Wright, reportedly
murdered her husband and while the officers were investigating they brought their
wives to collect some clothing for her. By what they were saying, the officers were
laughing at their wives because they thought they were paying attention to
unimportant things, thus trifles . Where all the wives solved the case and the men
did not. There is an obvious segregation between the men and the women, social,

So, Mr. Wright busted the cage door and strangled the bird. Mrs. Hale and Mrs.

characters exiting the kitchen and the women announcing that they have determined
Mrs. Wright s quilt making style. She knots it instead of quilts it . I think with
women were referring to the fact that Mrs. Wright killed her husband, knotting the
rope around his neck. But saying it in such a way that the men will continue thinking
that they pay attention to trifle matters. In trifles, the title is ironic as the reader sees
what is silly and trifle to men, is the key to solving the murder. The title, the
characters, the role of women and they all work together to paint not only a picture
of Minnie s life with John but by adding the lives of all women who live abuse
under male domination. In Trifles, the male characters are regarded as intellectually
superior to their wives, who are treated as rather childish for their concern in
domestic details. But, in fact, the author makes a feminist glory as she describes her
female characters with such a witty way to secretly win over male

If you vomit:
Cover your trach tube with a towel to keep vomit out of your airway.
Suction right away if you think vomit may have gotten in your trach tube.
If You Use a Ventilator:
Check the ventilator safety and sound alarms every day to be sure they work.
Make sure the ventilator tubes are in the right place and do not pull on the trach tube.
Do not twist or pull on the trach connector more than needed. Too much pulling or
twisting can cause the ventilator tubes to disconnect.
When you hook up or disconnect the ventilator or humidification tubing, hold the
trach tube in place.
If you are using a trach tube with one or more side openings (fenestrated trach tube),
always use an inner cannula without side openings (non fenestrated cannula) with the
correct connector.
SEEK MEDICAL CARE IF:
You cannot remove your trach tube or inner cannula.
You have redness, swelling, or tenderness around your trach.
You have fluid or blood coming from your

Student Collaboration
In January 2010, Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of
Teachers, delivered a speech at the National Press Club entitled A New Path Forward:
Four Approaches to Quality Teaching and Better Schools. In this speech, Weingarten
called for more collaboration:
Imagine a system in which teachers have time to come together to resolve student
issues, share lesson plans, analyze student work, discuss successes and failures, and
learn through high quality professional development. Imagine a system in which
students can t fall through the cracks because they re backed by a team of teachers,
not just the one at the front of the room. (Weingarten 2010)
Weingarten s though of teachers collaboration by means of improving teaching
methods is influential, and the notion of teachers considerately generating collective
wisdom is attractive for those teachers who desire to exchange information and
precious data from colleagues as they develop their teaching career. Goddard and
Goddard (2010) as cited in Burton (2015) stated that teachers are professionals and
own irreplaceable awareness about their students and the ways they learn. Successful
collaboration takes place when teachers skill and knowledge are spread and
instruction is improved. Teachers with different ranks of knowledge and experience
that cooperatively emphasis on refining student learning are most beneficial in
growing student success. In fact, a review ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Behind Me Dips Eternity
Behind Me dips Eternity , by Emily Dickinson displays poetic excellence because,
she avoids the three errors of decent poetry (very didactic, overly sentimental, and
over use of figurative language). The theme of the poem is, when people are sad,
they look for an end but are stuck in the middle till death. In the story the speaker is
depressed, she wants to die but will not come to do it herself. Her only salvation is
hope that she will reach immortality or eternity. She cannot come to kill herself
because she is Christian, the Christian belief is that committing suicide will not allow
you access into Heaven. In the first stanza, Dickinson describes what she sees in
front of her and behind her (Immortality and Eternity). In between these two hopes
stands the speakers life, a depressing and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the next stanza, the speaker goes on to describe the Christian view of Heave; the
kingdom with one eternal ruler (God). Then she talks about Jesus, the prince of
Heaven, and son of none meaning that no human can claim Jesus as his/her son
because Jesus father is God himself. The Prince s dynasty is eternal, meaning that
there ruling will go on forever. In the next stanza, she begins by say that there is a
miracle in front of her and a miracle behind her (Immortality and Eternity). She then
describes her life as a little island in the sea; the island has a beautiful view in front
and behind it. But all the island ever receives is maelstrom. The overall message of
the poem is death and despair, death because the speaker looks forward to her end
but cannot come to do it herself because she has a strong Christian belief against it.
Despair because the speaker has a depressing and tumult life, and the only thing that
keeps the speaker going is hope that she will die soon and reach either immortality or
eternity. To conclude, the poem displays poetic excellence in the story alone, but I
will show you how the poem triumphs by avoiding the fundamental mistakes a

I applaud Holland s role as Peter Parker because he could be a lazy student and at
the same time, a great hero who could save the city. It had some entertaining
actions which won t lead the audience to be bored. Their all act naturally. They
have the facial expression that is right for the character they are portraying. The
plot have some great twists which we never knew would happen or would even
shock us like Adrian Toomes being revealed as Liz s father. These special effects
even made the movie more interesting and colorful. In terms of script, those were so
hilarious. They minimized saying foul words. They said the script clearly so that we
could understand what they are saying. Overall, I give the movie a 4 stars over 5.

means that if you are nothing without something, you shouldn t have that. The
explanation of that is that if you want to be successful, you should not say that you

teaches us to be your self. Just because you don t have that thing with you doesn t
mean that you are completely nothing. It could be a test for you whether you can do
good without that
The Music Of The World Music Essay
Authenticity through Appropriation Ethnicity is deep and innate within stars and
society, therefore it cannot be performed. Artists perform their music. While
musicians do not perform their race, since it is an inherent quality of all people, it is
often, but not always, seen as inauthentic when musicians perform outside of their
race, gender, or class. This is especially true when someone from a more privileged
class performs the art of the lower class. While completely replicating a certain style
of music can often be seen as inauthentic, certain artists can easily perform outside of
a genre while taking (or stealing, based on your point of view) elements, sounds,
chords, and styles from those genres and remixing them. The artist achieves
expressive authenticity , where an artist is viewed as real and authentic without the
consideration of ethnicity (Rudinow 129). One artist who successfully does this, but
not without controversy, is Paul Simon through his use of world music .
Simon was originally a part of a folk rock duo, Simon and Garfunkel, in the 60s that
achieved great success in the United States. The group, which split in 1970, mostly
performed music that is generally considered to be mainstream white American pop
music. In the early 1980s, more than a decade after his groups split, Paul Simon was
in a creative slump with two unsuccessful albums (Greer 1). In order to explore new
sounds and genres Simon traveled to apartheid South Africa. There he met

Helen s optimism and courage inspired many people. Most people try to avoid risk

activities like cycling, camping, horse riding and even swimming. Taking risk is a
part of life and obviously, part of growing up. You can be anything you want, just
keep holding on and stay strong. Helen wanted to share her views to the world and
she achieved her goal by becoming an author. She wrote The Story of My Life to
inspire people and to share her views towards life. Later she became a social

other people disabilities. She worked for the welfare of differently abled people.
She dedicated the rest of her life working on behalf of deaf and blind people and
she helped them in overcoming their fears. The Story of My Life taught us many

Particulate Matter Essay
ABSTRACT:
Particulate matter removal from the industrial flue gas sources is one of the
biggest challenges of the modern industrialized period. Particulate matter is a
mixture of both solid and liquid that is suspended in air and is normally emitted
into the air by the direct source of emission [1]. Particulate matter is of various sizes
but PM10 and PM2.5 are commonly used to explain the PM concentration in the air
and is normally required to be reported as an air pollution control standard.
Particulate matters (PM) causes various health related problems if their level is not
controlled in the air. In a joint report, prepared jointly by European Centre for
Environment and Health and WHO [1], PM matter especially smaller PM2.5 causes
serious health risks and as a result, it is noticed that the life expectancy in 25
European countries has decreased about 8.6 months. There are variety of equipment
used to control the particulate matter in the emission sources such as settling
chambers, wet scrubber, electrostatic precipitator, filters and cyclone separators.
Cyclone separators are most widely used to remove the particulate matter from the
pollution source because of their low capital and operating cost, and simplicity in
operation, however, their low efficiency is one of the major challenges.
This paper will review and cover the major research that is taking place to increase
the overall capture efficiency of the cyclone separator without compromising the
pressure drop and the life of the cyclone separator. The efficiency of the cyclone
separator can be increased by mainly by increasing the velocity, changing the
geometry or applying some external force such as electrical or magnetic force. The
major focus of research in the history was on the modification of geometry and
shape of the cyclone separator, however, changing the geometry has its own
limitations, that are mainly pressure drop (energy cost) and life of a cyclone
[15].Modern researchers have changed the approach of increasing the efficiency by
adding electrical and magnetic forces that will increase the efficiency without
affecting the basic design of the cyclone separator and this is the main area of
interest of this paper. Moreover, the paper

stretches the fact that life is sacred, precious and life is indeed beautiful!
Told from his son s perspective, we begin in late 1930 s Tuscany with a clownish
Guido (a permanently grinning Benigni). Dreaming of opening his own book store
whilst attempting to woo his blushing principessa (Nicoletta Braschi) through
Chaplinesque slapstick, he finds temporary work as a waiter. After seeing the two
characters, Guido and Dora, fall innocently in love, we find that they, now married,
live contentedly with their son Giosue (Giorgio Cantarini). However, through
dramatically changes in colour, we find that they are deported to a German run
concentration camp. There, father pretends to son that the bellowing Germans,
abrasive clothing and pitiless conditions are all part of an elaborate game in which
points are awarded to those who display good behaviour .
A fable rather than a portion of historical practicality, the film is seemingly envisioned
as a tribute to the strengths of imagination,
Pseudomonas Aeruginsa Lab
Identifying Unknown Bacteria 9177 Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
The identification of the unknown began with a gram negative result during the
gram stain testing; gram negative results are pink in color, because the structure of
the cell does not hold Gram s crystal violet stain as well as gram positive bacteria
does. Gram positive bacteria are purple in color, compared to the pink in the gram
negative cells because of the safranin. The unknown, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, was a
gram negative aerobe, which was the first piece of evidence used to narrow down to
the identification of the unknown. The morphology of the unknown was short rods
organized in pairs, and they were about 1 micrometer wide and 3 micrometers long. It
also showed true motility, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
fluorescens, P. aeruginosa has lab results that separate them. P. aeruginosa and P.
fluorescens both can break down citrate, a selective test that, when positive, results in
growth in the broth. In addition, neither of them did not have any hydrolysis of
starch, meaning that neither of them had amylase present. Both also result in positive
oxidase tests, meaning that both have a presence of cytochrome c oxidase activity;
this indicates that both have electron transport chains and both can perform aerobic
respiration. Neither P. aeruginosa nor P. fluorescens produce urease, meaning that
neither of them breaks down urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide. Both also have
negative Vogues Proskauer tests, meaning that no acetoin is present. Though neither
of the two produces acid or gas at 24 hours, P. fluorescens can produce acid from
glucose at 48 hours. Both of the bacteria are penicillin resistant and streptomycin
sensitive, but in addition, P. fluorescens is tetracycline sensitive, while the unknown
was intermediate for tetracycline. P. aeruginosa differs from P. fluorescens because
nitrates in P. aeruginosa are reduced to nitrites; P. aeruginosa also has gas production
in the nitrate broth tube indicating that the nitrites were reduced to nitrogen gas. P.
fluorescens does not have hydrolysis of casein, whereas P. aeruginosa hydrolyses
casein. Caseinase is a proteinase that hydrolyzes the peptide bonds of casein resulting
in a halo surrounding the bacteria, where the milk agar loses its milky white color
immediately surrounding the bacteria in bacteria containing
Halloween Night Informative Speech
Welcome, to Worlds Of Fun on Halloween night. Worlds Of Fun is an amusement
theme park in Kansas City. On Halloween they turn the tables from fun to
horrifying. Their goal is to scare you greatly into submission so that we can t
continue but, we continue anyways because of the thrills and the explosion of
adrenaline it brings us. The amusement park in my eyes is one of the most
horrifying in the world. I was raised through horror events ever since I was about 6.
Horror is my theme, my passion. Horror is fascinating to me and helps me to
understand true fear sometimes.
Worlds Of Fun on Halloween night is where all of our nightmares become reality.
The smell in the air smells like rotten molten death but, also food of course. They
fog up the entire island as they call their terrifying amusement park. When we
travel to Worlds Of Fun, we can not run from the roller coasters. When we ride a
roller coaster we will understand the thrill that involves us not seeing the ground.
Most of the roller coasters just look like we re falling to our death and are never
going to stop. Then, right at the last moment we receive a huge rush of wind, force,
and adrenaline, then the ride is over. We try riding the Momba when we can t see the
ground in the front row, it s AWESOME. We will understand the true meaning of

The initial theme park even on Halloween is kid friendly but the haunted house vary
for the kids. The of the first times I went to worlds of fun on Halloween was 7
years ago. There was a haunted house there that I walked through and the entire
house was filled with fog, strobe lights, and people to scare me. I couldn t see 2
feet in front of your face. They had to come find me because I couldn t find my
way out. Imagine being trapped in a room at age 11 with no one else there and I can
not find anyone. I also can hearing screaming, evil laughing, and a chainsaw revving.

The Popularity Of Cloud Computing
ABSTRACT Popularity of cloud computing has made many of our lives easier. As
the popularity of this technology is growing so are the demands from the consumers
of the technology. This has lead to inter cloud operations. Interoperability of clouds
is facing many obstacles and need for standardization of specifications. Though there
are a couple of standard specifications none have been widely accepted. This report
has made an effort to show the possibility of using next generation overlay networks
(NGSON) for an efficient interoperability of clouds, keeping the standardized
specifications given by the IEEE SA. INTRODUCTION Rackspace is a cloud
computing company that works on computing technology which, relies on sharing

There are many industry projects on the standardization of cloud interoperability
but none of them have become a widely accepted standard. The next generation
service overlay network (NGSON) has its functional architecture defined in IEEE
P1903 standard. This architecture provides a framework and essential functions to
support IP based service overlay networks. The functional entities (FEs) of
NGSON can support dynamic and static service types, which may be in different
domains. Also, the FEs support dynamic routing, delivery of services and content
[2]. Thus, NGSON can support cloud wherein NGSON provides uniform routing,
delivery and composition for clouds that would be regarded as services.
Furthermore, the authentication functionality of NGSON could be used for secure
interoperation of multiple clouds. This report makes an effort to describe how
NGSON can be used for inter cloud operations with due importance given to
authentication, routing, transfer of contents and composition of services. The report
is organized as follows. The background of the technologies, research growth along
with standard references is provided in the state of the art section followed by
research application section which focuses on ways the technology helps us achieve
our goal. A case scenario is presented to analyze the results. The results of this section
help us to write the ethical
Listening to Music in School
Students should be able to listen to music while studying or completing assignments
during class. Music influences humans both in good and bad ways. Listening to
music while studying or at work can be beneficial to brain functioning helping you
stay focused. When you listen to music while studying, your brainis activated to think
spatially. Musicis not only beneficial for students but can help with emotional issues
as well. The effects of music are very beneficial to students as well as workers and
should be allowed in classrooms and work environments.
You may be thinking how can music help me focus on my work? Well I have the
answer to that and it may be surprising. As a student myself I have found times
where I was not able to get my work done because I just wasn t motivated or I
couldn t stay focused on the task at hand. It can even be frustrating or
overwhelming trying to complete work. Depending on what type of music you re
listening to while working it can actually encourage you to keep working and keep
you focused on your studies. According to Teresa Lesiuk of The University of
Windsor in Canada listening to music while you work can increase positivity and
give you inspiration to keep working (Psychology of Music April 2005 vol. 33 no. 2
173 191). In a survey conducted by Harris Interactive it was stated that nearly one
third (32%) of 1,613 U.S. employees said they listen to music while working through
the use of an iPod, MP3 player or similar device. And
The Beliefs And Achievements Of Nelson Mandela And...
Sara Peterson
Mr. Heitman
Global II
May 28, 2016
The beliefs and achievements of Nelson Mandela and Mohandas Gandhi have
made positive impacts on society throughout global history. They both helped
people fight the restrictions against them in order to earn what they deserved;
freedom. Mandela never stopped helping people achieve equal rights. Gandhi saw
people were being mistreated so he took action by boycotting. Both men fought
hard to earn the rights that people sill currently have today. In the 1960s, one of
Sharpeville s leaders, Nelson Mandela was put in prison for conspiracy. Despite the
fact that he was in jail, he continued to lead South Africans against the apartheid
government for 27 years. They wanted to rid of passbooks and the fact that if you
didn t carry your with you that you would be beaten or killed. The people of South
Africa deserved equal rights; not segregation. Separate facilities was unnecessary
and also unfair. Nelson was imprisoned in October of 1962 for treason. People from
all over the world demanded that he be freed. By the time the 1980s rolled around,
the U.S. and the U.K. were strongly pressuring South Africa to set Nelson free and
demolish apartheid government. To increase the pressure, people started boycotting
buying South African goods. In 1989 the new president of South Africa, known as
F.W. de Klerk, rid of the racial segregation. Then, soon enough Nelson Mandela was
released from prison in the year of 1990. So Nelson and de Klerk
Steve Jobs And Bill Gates
Imagine living in a world without internet, Ipods, or cell phones. Steve Jobs and
Bill Gates took on a long battle with technology to make sure society was provided
with all its gadgets. In the mid 1970 s Bill Gates created the best creation of all
time, PC company (Moisescot, 2017). This creation changed the world as society
knows it, but was nothing compared to the way computers are today. Steve Jobswas
born in San Francisco on February 24, 1955. He was put up for adoption by
Abdulfattah Jandali and Joanne Schieble and quickly adopted by Paul and Clara
Jobs. In the year of 1969, he met his lifelong partner with Apple, Steve Wozniak

Gates took and interest in computers in the 8th grade when his school, Lakeside
School, bought an ASR 33 teletype terminal and a block of computer time General
Electric computer for students through a fundraiser (MCHABU, 2017). It was the
spring of 1968 when he first used a computer. Gates was taken out of his math class
to pursue his interest in computer technology (MCHABU, 2017). That autumn of
1968, Computer Centre Corporation opened in seattle and set accessible session
to children so they can have computer time at good rates (MCHABU, 2017). His
very first invention he did on the computer was allowed users to play games
against the computer itself (MCHABU, 2017). That is what spiked him to
continue on what he will pursue in future events. Gate and his friends from school
spent no time at all to find ways around the computers files and caused the system
to crash several times and broke the security system (MCHABU, 2017). Gates
experimented more and more with computers all through his high school years. He
was one of few that could figure out systems that people have never seen before.
He had scored 1590 out of 1600 on his SAT scores, then subsequently enrolled in
Harvard University in the fall of 1973. While at Harvard, Gates did not realize he
would find his business partner for life, Steve Ballmer. Gates ended up not
graduating Harvard, but yet dropping out to start his business of his own as he left
his junior year to start, little did he know was, the largest
Accounting Practices For The Market Valuation
INTRODUCTION: In current scenario, many corporate firms have some issues due
to change in accounting practices for the market valuation. Change in financial
management for market valuation has been failed and brings the notion of three
different entities; accountability, representation and control. So, in this essay I have
taken AMAZON company and yet to discuss about their accounting practice which
influence the market valuation. In addition, issues of accountability, representation
and control also to be discussed briefly in accordance with their accounting practice.
ACCOUNTING: The process of observing and providing the financial statistics of an
organisation which is useful for customers for managing and to create economic
decisions. The process of identifying, measuring and communicating financial
information about an entity to permit informed judgements and decisions by users of
information. (McLaney and Atrill, 2002:1). Accounting data is unbiased and neutral,
which helps to determine the level of excellence and different factors that influence
the company s performance. This point has been explained clearer by (Ezzamel
Willmott, 2004:784) Accounting information is an impartial and neutral
representation data, which is correctly used, can reduce unwanted ambiguities and
can reduce waste in organizing supplies . The three main financial statements are the
balance sheets, the profit or loss account and the cash flow statement. Hence, with
these types of
Nicole Arbour s Dear Fat People
According to recent study at Harvard, young girls are more afraid of becoming fat
than they are of nuclear war, cancer, or losing their parents(Photoshop). In recent
years it has seemed that the media, and society in general are praising unrealistic
beauty standards and claiming them to be ideal. Any person can take a quick look
in a magazine, on the internet, or on television and see any number of pictures of
people with extreme features that society claims make them superior. This has
made an impact on today s generation in such an extreme manner that 80% of 10
year old girls have dieted and 90% of high school junior and senior women diet
regularly. (Photoshop). Girls and boys both, across the globe are striving have what

Last week a comedian named Nicole Arbour released a video on her youtube
channel titled Dear Fat People . The video has over 4 million views in just over 7
days. According to Boston s NPR news section it is one of the top social media
scandals of the year . Nicole Arbour s youtube channel is most popular for her
video rants as well as other videos she has made in attempt at comedy. In Dear Fat
People she talks about a matter of issues she feels fat people should work on. She
claims that fat people get special treatment that an average weighted person does
not. She gives an example that she felt a common person could relate to. She says
that in security lines in airports, people who are fat get to cut the line and security
checks them first. This proves to one of her major points in making the video. She
says that her video is not shame fat people but to encourage them to lose weight
(Schlack). Fat shaming is not a thing; fat people made that up. That s the race card,
with no race. She ended her video with some advice saying that if you want to end
your weight issues put down the oreos . People by nature judge their surroundings.
It is something all living organisms do, judging people, food, as well as anything
else is vital to survival, but the weight of a person is not a factor in determining the
quality of a human being. The media has helped project different stereotypes onto
people and it is hard for some people to overcome them. A survey in Teen People
Magazine in 2014 showed that over 50% of teenagers assumed that being fat was a
sign of laziness, and 45% of the participants also said that fat people smell bad and
do not care about their bodies (Schlack). It does not just go in way, as skinny
shaming has become a problem too. It seems that no matter the body a person can be
given, there will always be
Gallstone Ileus Case Study
The current approaches to surgical management of gallstone ileus are: (1)
enterolithotomy, cholecystectomy and fistula repair (single stage surgery), (2)
enterolithotomy with delayed cholecystectomy and fistula closure (two stage
surgery) and (3) simple enterolithotomy (most reported surgical procedure).
Proponents of the single stage procedure cite recurrence and increased risk of
developing cholangitis or gallbladder carcinoma as reasons for performing
concurrent cholecystectomy and fistula closure [18]. Those who support the two
stage procedure or simple enterolithotomy point to high mortality rates of single
stage procedures and low rates of recurrence and gallbladder carcinoma as reasons...

Moreover, recurrence rates, from retained stones missed during initial surgery or
formation of new gallstones, were the same in both groups. Thus, the one stage
procedure, while associated with higher mortality rates, did not reduce recurrence
rates as its proponents have predicted. Similarly, results from many other collective
retrospective studies also demonstrate higher mortality rates with the single stage
procedure (Table 1). While these studies suffer from lack of power and statistical
significance due to limited patient pools and the small number of patients who
undergo single stage procedure, statistically significant differences in operative time
have been pointed out by several authors including Tan et al. [20] and Doko et. al.
[23]. Further, Doko et al. also reported statistically significant increase in early post
operative morbidity associated with urgent fistula repair in a single stage procedure
at 61.1% compared to 27.3% with enterolithotomy alone (one tailed, P=0.043). They
found an urgent fistula closure was significantly associated with post operative
complications with an odds ratio of 12.1 [[CI]: 1.2 121.5, P=0.046] and concluded
that the single stage procedure should be reserved only for highly selected patients
with absolute indications (acute
The Impact Of Social Media On The Fashion Industry
Introduction
This report s aim is to attempt to investigate the impact of social media on the
fashion industry as the social media users has been growing and the society today
has been really around it. Businesses are also getting involved and are using social
media as a promotional tool. Fashion industry, has evolved and it s come to the point
where a lot of changes are happening and where fashion trends occur frequently,
social media is the easiest way they showcase this and communicate.
Social media has changed the fashion industry but has its impact been positive?
There are different opinions and debates online wether social media has changed
fashion for better or for worse. With the evolution of technology, the ways of
communication and work as completely changed. The development of social media
has changed the way the society works, by bringing people closer. From the last few
years, social media has become a marketing tool, not only has it created a new way
of marketing, but social media Marketing has created an opportunity for brands to
have a conversation with their consumers and build relationships, to gain peoples
perspectives and opinions. From blogs, post s, to social shopping, a range of
different of opinions is stated through social media. In this era, fashion bloggers,
consumers, have a massive role in the industry, where they are the voice of the
industry where the companies listens to them. The brands rely on fashion bloggers,
where their feedback on
How To Create Suspense In Hitchcock s Rear Window
The movie that I chose to critique is Rear Window, a realist film by Alfred
Hitchcock produced in 1954. Starring James Stewart, Grace Kelly and, Wendell
Corey. The genre is thriller and the sub genre is suspense infused with mystery. Rear
Window is one of Alfred Hitchcock s most inspired audience participation films.
When a person watches it, he feels, tantalized, shocked, and exhilarated. Further in
this essay, I will summarize the plots, discuss the styles used, and deconstruct parts of
the film.
Jeff the protagonist is a photographer who broke one of his legs and is sitting in a
wheel chair by his apartment window. Having nothing to do, Jeff gets really bored.
He starts to peek at his neighbors from his rear window. With his eyes he ... Show

Alfred Hitchcock, the director points it out to the audience as he concentrates on Jeff
focusing on what s happening inside his neighborhood. He allows the audience to
stay focused as we become voyeurs and see the various dramas that are being
unfolded. Hitchcock has great technical brilliance with a great ability to portray a
story in a very distinctive manner. He uses the technique of dramatic variation of
size to achieve other desired emotions from the audience, by cutting from long shots
to extreme close ups. The story line in the film revolves around voyeurism, guilt,
friendship, and sexuality. Moreover, the editing techniques in the film are used to
raise attention to the events that are unfolding in front of us. The shots in the movie
are connected in a relatively subjective style. According to Hitchcock Cutting should
not be thought of in terms of cutting but rather in terms more like assembly or
Mosaic (Hitchcok, 1963, p.4). Montage, is the process or technique of selecting and
piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole. When two
shots are juxtaposed in such a way it gives the third another meaning. This is one
classic examples of Alfred Hitchcock s way of thinking. The use voyeurism in the
film makes the audience conscious of why the protagonist is behaving in a certain
The Effect Of Body Cameras On Use Of Force Incidents
Methods I wish to replicate the methodology utilized by Ariel, Farrer, and
Sutherland (2015). These researchers conducted a randomized controlled study
with the Rialto Police Department in California. The purpose of their study was to
observe the effects of body worn cameras on the frequency of use of force incidents
as well as citizens complaints. In my research study, I will test only the effect of
body worn cameras on use of force incidents. I propose to study the Indianapolis
Metropolitan PoliceDepartment in Indianapolis, Indiana. This research setting is a
lot larger than Ariel, Farrer, and Sutherland s study. The Rialto Police Department
covered an area of approximately 28.5 square miles, and they served a population
of approximately 100,000 residents. IMPD covers an area of approximately 364.3
square miles, and serves approximately 824,000 residents. Rialto has 115 sworn
officers whereas IMPD has 1,080 sworn officers (IMPD n.d.). I propose to divide
IMPD s six districts in half. Three districts will be the treatment group while the
other three districts will be the control group. This should be approximately 540
total officers per group. The districts will be randomly assigned to either by a
treatment or a control group, and it will change weekly. For example, the North
District may be a treatment group one week and a control group the next week. I
feel that if the department is split up and randomly assigned a group each week that
the data will be more
Penis Growth Research Paper
Making your penis higher is convenient with the advent of free penis workout
routines. With out the need for drugs, pumps, or other contraptions, any man can
increase their penis measurement each in length and girth. The first class part of all
is that these are common penis enlargement workout routines.
These are probably the most many penis growth approaches that should be evaded:
putting weights: whilst it is going to seem apparent to hang weights from your penis
to stretch it, this designated procedure is without problems too dicy and dangerous.
One false transfer can burst blood vessels and intent permanent impotence anything
that no man would fathom.
Pumps: prolonged use of pumps and equivalent contraptions can result in lengthy
term and potentially irreversible harm to the penis. What s extra, their effectiveness at
enlarging the penis is still disputed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At first rate, they may be able to increase the blood drift to the penis for a short
interval. Worse, if these creams contain any detrimental components, they are able to
cause severe infection and injury to the penis. Creams will not be invasive, but they
aren t as nice as ordinary penis expansion exercises.
Silicone injections: Of all the mainstream penis expansion approaches, that is
essentially the most unsafe. Silicone injections may just increase penis girth but
when any of the liquid gets into the bloodstream, then the penalties could also be
deadly. Although carried out adequately, the penis can also be damaged or deformed
beyond repair.
Surgery: Invasive surgery is essentially the most high priced and most painful of the
approaches mentioned. A failed operation can leave you with a permanently scarred

  • 2. The Effects Of Dementia On Alzheimer s Disease And... The Effects of Dementia Alex Guthrie University of Tennessee Chattanooga Introduction Dementia is a chronic illness that effects millions of Americans annually with increasing numbers. The general understanding of dementia is that it affects the mind, and while it does affect the mind, entangles much more than just that. Dementia engulfs a patient s mind, family, a level of caregiving, and an involvement in research of the disease. The Mind Adults age 65 years and older make up around 13 percent of the population (39 million people). This number is likely to increase significantly over the next 30+ years to encompass about 20 percent of the population (88.5 million). It is gathered that about 1 in 10 adults age 65 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Behavioral changes can include increased aggression and disruptiveness. This behavior can almost be perceived as a deterioration or demotion in a person s maturity. While it most certainly is not, it happens in a way that an individual seemingly regresses in their decision making and maturity. It is theorized that some of the behavioral research done on other populations of similar behavioral competency (child like behavior) could be done on an elderly population suffering from the behavioral regression of dementia. There has been little research such as this done, however. Currently, there is no cure for dementia. There are some drug therapies that are currently in use to help increase the chemical acetylcholine in the brain in an attempt to aid in memory retention and judgement. A few drugs in the class are: Donepezil, Rivastigmine, and Galantamine. These have been attempted treatments for the disease, but have had mixed results. In some cases such treatments have come up short, and in drastic cases, these treatments have made matters worse for some patients. Some of these treatments have been known to cause confusion, delirium, and even increased risk of mortality. An alternative to these medicinal treatments have been almost strictly environmental. This has been through the application of behavior analytic principles that help see future problems before they arise. This application also allows for an more individualized care plan for
  • 3. Jean-Paul Marat Death Portraits of Jean Paul Marat The French Revolution one of the most important significant events in European history, which lead to the end of European monarchy. The French Revolution effected the way Europeans used to think giving of the sense of hope and liberty from monarch s or nobles. Thanks to the theories of radical journalists and politicians whom started to publish their thoughts about the French monarchy government, and the leaders of the corrupted government people started to speak more freely about the aristocrat class. One Jean Paul Marathad been one of those journalists who would speak and write his thoughts about the French monarchy he played a very important role in the making of the French Revolution. However, the amount trouble one gets to speak freely two hundred years ago differs from the modern day freedom of speech one gets; and Marat s radicalism against the French monarchy head resulted in his death. As a result, Marta s death grams the attention of two artists that try to capture the moment of Marat s death by drawing a portrait of his death. The first artist to draw a portrait of Marat s death was a French artist Jacques Louis David in 1793 who named the painting The Death of Marat. Another artist that painted a painting capturing Marat s death had been a Norwegian painter called Edvard Munch the painting was painted more than one hundred years after Jacques painting, and it was also called The Death of Marat. The similarities and
  • 4. North Carolina State University s Environmental... Introduction During this semester I traveled with the North Carolina State University s Environmental Technology and Management program ET 201 class, under the direction of Dr. Teresa Litzenberger, to Little Rock Creek in Raleigh North Carolina. Little Rock Creek is a small stream located in southeast raleigh near the Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Located in a watershed of approximately 705.879 acres, the creek looks like an upside down uppercase L from a map perspective. The creek floor is sandy with a few small rocks (cobblestone) in areas. The streamhas plenty of tree cover to provide shade. However, the lack of large trees encourages the curves in the creek to widen which allows the water to slow down and create pools throughout the creek. According to Title 15A of the North Carolina Administrative Code, Rule .0302 contains the classifications for waters located within the Neuse River Basin (15A NCAC 02L .0312). Little Rock Creek, however, is not classified and therefore follows Rule .0301 which simply states that it should carry the classification of the stream to which it is a tributary (. Assessment and Methodology The Rapid Stream Assessment Technique (RSAT) uses data measured in the field to determine a stream s condition. These data fields include channel stability, channel scouring or sediment deposition, physical instream habitat, water quality, riparian habitat conditions, and biological indicators of macroinvertebrates. The RSAT ranking for each
  • 5. Short Story Endings In Short Stories Closure and Endings found in Short Stories Every story must start somewhere, but not every story has to have a complete ending, or even a clear one. With the development of the short story, the variation between short story endings has gradually increased as time has gone on, like the difference between a final ending in Flannery O Connor s A Good Man is Hard to Find or John Cheever s The Swimmer. However, the endings of some short stories also depend on the style of how the story is written, like Amy Tan s Two Kinds, which is a part of a larger novel, and Kate Chopin s The Blind Man, which is a new branch of short fiction writing called microfiction. The ending also comes about based on the subject matter found in the story. For example, Tan is a second generation Chinese American like her character, June, in Two Kinds. Cheever lived through the Great Depression, and his family went through a similar fall from grace like his character Neddy did in The Swimmer. They say to write what you know, and these authors come to their endings through their own experiences and the type of style that they write in. Flannery O Connor was a writer on rented time. Confined to her house throughout the final days of her illness, critics theorize that she spent a good amount of time thinking about how her life was coming to a close. Andre Bleikasten, author of Beginnings and Endings in Flannery O Connor, believes that the reason why many of her stories end with such a finality

Ellie loves art, and can be found doodling all the time. Ellie also likes to listen to music, and has her headphones in whenever she has the opportunity. Ellie likes to keep to herself, and doesn t often talk with other students. Ellie does really well at completing work independently, and tests on grade level. I am worried about Ellie, because her introverted behavior is beginning to cause disruptions with other classmates. Group work is required in my class, and not talking with others in class is affecting her grade. Other students do not want to work with Ellie, because she doesn t talk with others or pull her weight in group assignments. I would choose dependent group contingency for Ellie. This means that Ellie or her group would earn a privilege by demonstrating appropriate group behavior. I think this would work well for Ellie, because it would raise her social status with her peers. Her peers would become encouragers for her. This could also help Ellie connect with her peers, and build positive relationships. If effective, this strategy will help Ellie increase her participation in discussions, and her ability to interact effectively in a

Tamilnadu Power Crisis Reason Abstract : In this paper, I have made an attempt to study the present power situation in Tamil Nadu, a state that has attracted plenty of FDI in power critical industries. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The increase in power consumption was not thought through in their opinion and there is also a feeling that multinationals are being given power at the expense of domestic companies. While there may be no basis for such a view, it does indicate that the state government has laid the ground for a potentially explosive situation on the power front. Perhaps it was against this background that the state only made a few feeble noises about bidding for the Nano project which eventually went to Gujarat. The major reasons for the power crisis in Tamil Nadu are the following: 1. Absence of a long term vision to increase availability of power by capacity addition and encouraging private investment in power generation compared to other states, over the last 10 years. 2. Overdependence on outside sources. 3. Considerable dependence on wind energy which is highly seasonal in nature and therefore not completely reliable. 4. Failure to reduce power transmission losses in the last 10 years Detailed explanation: 1. Lack of long term vision: The following stats demonstrates how the gap between requirement and availability of power in Tamil Nadu has altered significantly in comparison with other industrialized states between 2003 04 and 2010 11 Comparing this with the situation in 2003 04, it can be seen that the status of deficits in most of the states was the same, except in Tamil

  • 10. Epic Theatre By Bertolt Brecht Bertolt Brecht was the pioneer of a new style of theatre, epic theatre. Epic theatre differentiates itself from Bertolt s previous influences by presenting a series of loosely connected scenes that avoid illusion and often interrupt the story line to address the audience directly with analysis, argument, or documentation. He sought to remind the spectator that the play is an illustration of the playwright s point of view rather than a slice from reality. This made audiences react with curiousity and participate in a dialogical argument criticising their own life and what they could do to change it rather than an emotional and empathic response that accepts events in the play as a slice of reality, accepted as the norm. He wanted his audiences to adopt a critical perspective in order to recognise social injustice and to go forth and transform the reality. Bertolt utilised specific techniques to intentionally disillusion the audience throughout the play. One of the main techniques that Bertolt utilised was exposing the construction and mechanisms of theatre to the audience. By emphasizing the spectator s awareness of the methods of its production, his shows aimed to expose the contradictions between the characters ideology and purpose. Such techniques included flooding the stage with harsh white light, regardless of where the action was taking place, and leaving the stage lamps in full view of the audience; making use of minimal props and indicative scenery; intentionally

  • 13. The Similarities And Differences Between The Chesapeake... During the late 16th century and into the 17th century, two colonies emerged from England in the New World. The two colonies were called the Chesapeake and New England colonies. Even though the two areas were formed and governed by the English, the colonies had similarities as well as differences. Differences in geography, religion, politics, economic, and nationalities, were responsible for molding the colonies. These differences came from one major factor: the very reason the English settlers came to the New World.
The Chesapeake colonies were primarily created by companies interested in profiting from the natural resources of the New World such as gold or silver to bring back to England. The New England colonies were primarily created to escaped religious persecution and set up a haven for people of their faith. The inhabitants of the New England area were far healthier. Their clean water supply was a sharp contrast to the contaminated waters of Chesapeake Bay. The cool climate had a good impact on colonists because it prevented the spread of life threatening diseases. Because of New England s cool climate, many people died during severe winters. Chesapeake s climate had positive and negative factors as well. The warm, moist climate in the Chesapeake colonies carried diseases that killed many of the colonists. In contrast to the New England colonists, the Chesapeake colonists did not have to worry as much about surviving cold winters. The natural resources of the

By looking at this image, it already outlines that we as society relay on having the perfect ideal women body, which is being thin and skinny. Society also implies that valuing body image and perfection is significant that children at a very young age are already influenced negatively growing up with a corrupted mindset. The little girl in the photo is already measuring her waistline with a measuring tape at such a young age. She is already feeling like she must be skinny to fit into society and is conscious of her size, teaching her that she must look a certain way. The issue is that in society the media has advertisements, commercials and magazines that portray standards such as women being thin, tall and skinny. This according to the Western countries is having the perfect body image. The media shows such unrealistic images to consumers such as these young girls to try to appear like these ideals that are set for them from society that potentially be harmful and unhealthy which could lead to death because of starvation leading to possible long term health disorders such as anorexia, bulimia nervosaand nervosa. My opinion on this issue is those who are suffering with low self esteem shouldn t do such horrific acts like starvation or dieting just to be accepted in society because they feel too fat or they do not meet the societal standard of being perfect. Girls should relay on the ideal

The black and white photo along with the large bold text in the lower center actually draws the audiences attention away from the product. The reader could look at this ad and not even notice the colored in Miller High Life bottle. The colored product is also too large, and it ruins any symmetrical balance. One of the ongoing thematic elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle with his self confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship magnify his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self perception to the manner in which his stutteringwas perceived by those around him. In a few instances, Bertie mentions that his stuttering has always been particularly difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In one of the few scenes with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie. While he initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice, this attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost immediately upon sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it out , and even at one point angrily tells his son to relax. A second scene involved Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to mocking his stuttering and was even encouraged to do so by their father. Her only salvation is hope that she will reach immortality or eternity. She cannot come to kill herself because she is Christian, the Christian belief is that committing suicide will not allow you access into Heaven. The Prince s dynasty is eternal, meaning that there ruling will go on forever. While musicians do not perform their race, since it is an inherent quality of all people, it is often, but not always, seen as inauthentic when musicians perform outside of their race, gender, or class. This is especially true when someone from a more privileged class performs the art of the lower class. While completely replicating a certain style of music can often be seen as inauthentic, certain artists can easily perform outside of a genre while taking (or stealing, based on your point of view) elements, sounds, chords, and styles from those genres and remixing them. The artist achieves expressive authenticity , where an artist is viewed as real and authentic without the consideration of ethnicity (Rudinow 129). • 42. Particulate Matter Essay ABSTRACT: Particulate matter removal from the industrial flue gas sources is one of the biggest challenges of the modern industrialized period. Particulate matter is a mixture of both solid and liquid that is suspended in air and is normally emitted into the air by the direct source of emission [1]. Particulate matter is of various sizes but PM10 and PM2.5 are commonly used to explain the PM concentration in the air and is normally required to be reported as an air pollution control standard. Particulate matters (PM) causes various health related problems if their level is not controlled in the air. In a joint report, prepared jointly by European Centre for Environment and Health and WHO [1], PM matter especially smaller PM2.5 causes serious health risks and as a result, it is noticed that the life expectancy in 25 European countries has decreased about 8.6 months. There are variety of equipment used to control the particulate matter in the emission sources such as settling chambers, wet scrubber, electrostatic precipitator, filters and cyclone separators. Cyclone separators are most widely used to remove the particulate matter from the pollution source because of their low capital and operating cost, and simplicity in operation, however, their low efficiency is one of the major challenges. This paper will review and cover the major research that is taking place to increase the overall capture efficiency of the cyclone separator without compromising the pressure drop and the life of the cyclone separator. The efficiency of the cyclone separator can be increased by mainly by increasing the velocity, changing the geometry or applying some external force such as electrical or magnetic force. The major focus of research in the history was on the modification of geometry and shape of the cyclone separator, however, changing the geometry has its own limitations, that are mainly pressure drop (energy cost) and life of a cyclone [15].Modern researchers have changed the approach of increasing the efficiency by adding electrical and magnetic forces that will increase the efficiency without affecting the basic design of the cyclone separator and this is the main area of interest of this paper. Moreover, the paper
  • 43. Analysis Of La Vita E Bella Winner of three Oscars including Best Music, Original Dramatic Score and Best Foreign Language Film, La Vita e Bella, remains an intensely challenging contribution to the developing body of films about the holocaust. Witten and directed by Italy s national treasure, Roberto Benigni, it is a film of two distinct halves that battles through the tragic past to remember the happy times during such misery. But does Benigni depict this fabrication in a deceiving light? A moral and fable, the film stretches the fact that life is sacred, precious and life is indeed beautiful! Told from his son s perspective, we begin in late 1930 s Tuscany with a clownish Guido (a permanently grinning Benigni). Dreaming of opening his own book store whilst attempting to woo his blushing principessa (Nicoletta Braschi) through Chaplinesque slapstick, he finds temporary work as a waiter. After seeing the two characters, Guido and Dora, fall innocently in love, we find that they, now married, live contentedly with their son Giosue (Giorgio Cantarini). However, through dramatically changes in colour, we find that they are deported to a German run concentration camp. There, father pretends to son that the bellowing Germans, abrasive clothing and pitiless conditions are all part of an elaborate game in which points are awarded to those who display good behaviour . A fable rather than a portion of historical practicality, the film is seemingly envisioned as a tribute to the strengths of imagination,

Pseudomonas Aeruginsa Lab Identifying Unknown Bacteria 9177 Pseudomonas Aeruginosa The identification of the unknown began with a gram negative result during the gram stain testing; gram negative results are pink in color, because the structure of the cell does not hold Gram s crystal violet stain as well as gram positive bacteria does. Gram positive bacteria are purple in color, compared to the pink in the gram negative cells because of the safranin. The unknown, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, was a gram negative aerobe, which was the first piece of evidence used to narrow down to the identification of the unknown. The morphology of the unknown was short rods organized in pairs, and they were about 1 micrometer wide and 3 micrometers long. It also showed true motility, which ... P. aeruginosa and P. fluorescens both can break down citrate, a selective test that, when positive, results in growth in the broth. In addition, neither of them did not have any hydrolysis of starch, meaning that neither of them had amylase present. Both also result in positive oxidase tests, meaning that both have a presence of cytochrome c oxidase activity; this indicates that both have electron transport chains and both can perform aerobic respiration. Neither P. aeruginosa nor P. fluorescens produce urease, meaning that neither of them breaks down urea into ammonia and carbon dioxide. Both also have negative Vogues Proskauer tests, meaning that no acetoin is present. Though neither of the two produces acid or gas at 24 hours, P. fluorescens can produce acid from glucose at 48 hours. Both of the bacteria are penicillin resistant and streptomycin sensitive, but in addition, P. fluorescens is tetracycline sensitive, while the unknown was intermediate for tetracycline. P. aeruginosa differs from P. fluorescens because nitrates in P. aeruginosa are reduced to nitrites; P. aeruginosa also has gas production in the nitrate broth tube indicating that the nitrites were reduced to nitrogen gas. P. fluorescens does not have hydrolysis of casein, whereas P. aeruginosa hydrolyses casein. Caseinase is a proteinase that hydrolyzes the peptide bonds of casein resulting in a halo surrounding the bacteria, where the milk agar loses its milky white color immediately surrounding the bacteria in bacteria containing

When we travel to Worlds Of Fun, we can not run from the roller coasters. When we ride a roller coaster we will understand the thrill that involves us not seeing the ground. Most of the roller coasters just look like we re falling to our death and are never going to stop. As the popularity of this technology is growing so are the demands from the consumers of the technology. This has lead to inter cloud operations. Interoperability of clouds is facing many obstacles and need for standardization of specifications. Though there are a couple of standard specifications none have been widely accepted. This report has made an effort to show the possibility of using next generation overlay networks (NGSON) for an efficient interoperability of clouds, keeping the standardized specifications given by the IEEE SA. There are many industry projects on the standardization of cloud interoperability but none of them have become a widely accepted standard. The next generation service overlay network (NGSON) has its functional architecture defined in IEEE P1903 standard. This architecture provides a framework and essential functions to support IP based service overlay networks. The functional entities (FEs) of NGSON can support dynamic and static service types, which may be in different domains. Also, the FEs support dynamic routing, delivery of services and content [2]. Thus, NGSON can support cloud wherein NGSON provides uniform routing, delivery and composition for clouds that would be regarded as services. Furthermore, the authentication functionality of NGSON could be used for secure interoperation of multiple clouds. This report makes an effort to describe how NGSON can be used for inter cloud operations with due importance given to authentication, routing, transfer of contents and composition of services. The report is organized as follows. The background of the technologies, research growth along with standard references is provided in the state of the art section followed by research application section which focuses on ways the technology helps us achieve our goal. A case scenario is presented to analyze the results. The results of this section help us to write the ethical

Listening to music while studying or at work can be beneficial to brain functioning helping you stay focused. When you listen to music while studying, your brainis activated to think spatially. Musicis not only beneficial for students but can help with emotional issues as well. The effects of music are very beneficial to students as well as workers and should be allowed in classrooms and work environments. You may be thinking how can music help me focus on my work? Well I have the answer to that and it may be surprising. As a student myself I have found times where I was not able to get my work done because I just wasn t motivated or I couldn t stay focused on the task at hand. It can even be frustrating or overwhelming trying to complete work. Depending on what type of music you re listening to while working it can actually encourage you to keep working and keep you focused on your studies. According to Teresa Lesiuk of The University of Windsor in Canada listening to music while you work can increase positivity and give you inspiration to keep working (Psychology of Music April 2005 vol. 33 no. 2 173 191). In a survey conducted by Harris Interactive it was stated that nearly one third (32%) of 1,613 U.S. employees said they listen to music while working through the use of an iPod, MP3 player or similar device. Sara Peterson Mr. Heitman Global II May 28, 2016 The beliefs and achievements of Nelson Mandela and Mohandas Gandhi have made positive impacts on society throughout global history. They both helped people fight the restrictions against them in order to earn what they deserved; freedom. Mandela never stopped helping people achieve equal rights. Gandhi saw people were being mistreated so he took action by boycotting. Both men fought hard to earn the rights that people sill currently have today. In the 1960s, one of Sharpeville s leaders, Nelson Mandela was put in prison for conspiracy. Despite the fact that he was in jail, he continued to lead South Africans against the apartheid government for 27 years. They wanted to rid of passbooks and the fact that if you didn t carry your with you that you would be beaten or killed. The people of South Africa deserved equal rights; not segregation. Separate facilities was unnecessary and also unfair. Nelson was imprisoned in October of 1962 for treason. People from all over the world demanded that he be freed. By the time the 1980s rolled around, the U.S. and the U.K. were strongly pressuring South Africa to set Nelson free and demolish apartheid government. To increase the pressure, people started boycotting buying South African goods. In 1989 the new president of South Africa, known as F.W. de Klerk, rid of the racial segregation. Then, soon enough Nelson Mandela was released from prison in the year of 1990. So Nelson and de Klerk

So, in this essay I have taken AMAZON company and yet to discuss about their accounting practice which influence the market valuation. In addition, issues of accountability, representation and control also to be discussed briefly in accordance with their accounting practice. ACCOUNTING: The process of observing and providing the financial statistics of an organisation which is useful for customers for managing and to create economic decisions. The process of identifying, measuring and communicating financial information about an entity to permit informed judgements and decisions by users of information. (McLaney and Atrill, 2002:1). Accounting data is unbiased and neutral, which helps to determine the level of excellence and different factors that influence the company s performance. This point has been explained clearer by (Ezzamel Willmott, 2004:784) Accounting information is an impartial and neutral representation data, which is correctly used, can reduce unwanted ambiguities and can reduce waste in organizing supplies . Nicole Arbour s youtube channel is most popular for her video rants as well as other videos she has made in attempt at comedy. In Dear Fat People she talks about a matter of issues she feels fat people should work on. She claims that fat people get special treatment that an average weighted person does not. She gives an example that she felt a common person could relate to. She says that in security lines in airports, people who are fat get to cut the line and security checks them first. This proves to one of her major points in making the video. She says that her video is not shame fat people but to encourage them to lose weight (Schlack). Fat shaming is not a thing; fat people made that up. That s the race card, with no race. She ended her video with some advice saying that if you want to end your weight issues put down the oreos . People by nature judge their surroundings. It is something all living organisms do, judging people, food, as well as anything else is vital to survival, but the weight of a person is not a factor in determining the quality of a human being. The media has helped project different stereotypes onto people and it is hard for some people to overcome them. A survey in Teen People Magazine in 2014 showed that over 50% of teenagers assumed that being fat was a sign of laziness, and 45% of the participants also said that fat people smell bad and do not care about their bodies (Schlack). It does not just go in way, as skinny shaming has become a problem too. It seems that no matter the body a person can be given, there will always be

Proponents of the single stage procedure cite recurrence and increased risk of developing cholangitis or gallbladder carcinoma as reasons for performing concurrent cholecystectomy and fistula closure [18]. Similarly, results from many other collective retrospective studies also demonstrate higher mortality rates with the single stage procedure (Table 1). While these studies suffer from lack of power and statistical significance due to limited patient pools and the small number of patients who undergo single stage procedure, statistically significant differences in operative time have been pointed out by several authors including Tan et al. Further, Doko et al. also reported statistically significant increase in early post operative morbidity associated with urgent fistula repair in a single stage procedure at 61.1% compared to 27.3% with enterolithotomy alone (one tailed, P=0.043). They found an urgent fistula closure was significantly associated with post operative complications with an odds ratio of 12.1 [[CI]: 1.2 121.5, P=0.046] and concluded that the single stage procedure should be reserved only for highly selected patients with absolute indications (acute

Alfred Hitchcock, the director points it out to the audience as he concentrates on Jeff focusing on what s happening inside his neighborhood. He allows the audience to stay focused as we become voyeurs and see the various dramas that are being unfolded. Hitchcock has great technical brilliance with a great ability to portray a story in a very distinctive manner. He uses the technique of dramatic variation of size to achieve other desired emotions from the audience, by cutting from long shots to extreme close ups. The story line in the film revolves around voyeurism, guilt, friendship, and sexuality. Moreover, the editing techniques in the film are used to raise attention to the events that are unfolding in front of us. The shots in the movie are connected in a relatively subjective style. According to Hitchcock Cutting should not be thought of in terms of cutting but rather in terms more like assembly or Mosaic (Hitchcok, 1963, p.4). Montage, is the process or technique of selecting and piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole. When two shots are juxtaposed in such a way it gives the third another meaning. This is one classic examples of Alfred Hitchcock s way of thinking. The use voyeurism in the film makes the audience conscious of why the protagonist is behaving in a certain

In my research study, I will test only the effect of body worn cameras on use of force incidents. I propose to study the Indianapolis Metropolitan PoliceDepartment in Indianapolis, Indiana. This should be approximately 540 total officers per group. The districts will be randomly assigned to either by a treatment or a control group, and it will change weekly.
