This document contains a teacher class observation form used by an English department to evaluate various aspects of classroom instruction. The form includes rubrics to rate teachers as excellent, very good, or needing improvement in areas such as lesson preparation, use of English, knowledge of content, student participation, and classroom management. Space is also provided for observer comments. The completed form is signed by both the teacher and observation coordinator.
This PPT was used for the 2013 TaLK Program in South Korea for new teacher orientation. The content is specific to South Korea and the TaLK program but can be used and adapted to other circumstances.
The use of correction codes by the teacher instead of giving full correction is a widespread practice, the rationale behind it is that it encourages students to think about their writing and correct themselves.
The teacher also can ask students to exchange their pieces of written work and discuss them in groups so that they can correct each other’s errors.
