They are usually responsible for raising the funds needed to do this- usually through forms of advertising. The company get money for selling the film to television channels and cinemas allowing them to raise money through the viewing of the film.

3. The Production CompanyAs our film is based on ‘The Strangers’, we have chosen the sameproduction company that produced this film in 2008. The film wasproduced by ROGUE PICTURES. We also chose this productioncompany as when we were researching different productioncompanies, we discovered that they invested in “high-qualitysuspense, action, thriller and urban features with mainstreamappeal”. Therefore as our film is a thriller we thought that thiswould be a successful company to work with.

They then have to negotiate prices and terms of the lease agreement – it is leased for a limited amount of time. They are often also responsible for marketing the film. They are also responsible for releasing the film onto DVD and to the public.

Therefore we thought that it would be likely that theywould be willing to distribute our film because it is similar to theirprevious work.
