This document discusses film distribution options for a low-budget UK film set in London about teenagers. It suggests that smaller independent distributors like Vertigo Films would be more suitable than major studios like 20th Century Fox. Vertigo can't spend as much on advertising but could distribute the film in some cinemas. • A film distributor is a company who markets
the film, they set a release date and decide in
which ways the film will be shown

3. 20th century fox
• 20th century fox is one of the worlds most well
known distributor company. The company
only takes on the films which they think will
make the most profit for them. They are very
good at getting films out there due to there
name and wealth.

4. Vertigo films
• This company is an independent distributor.
Vertigo cant afford to advertise their films as
much as 20th century fox, so they distribute
smaller films. Due to their lack of money they
wont be able to show their film in every
cinema.

5. Our film
• Our film would be distributed by a smaller film
distributor company such as vertigo as we
didn’t have a big budget on our film. The big
distributor companies would only distribute
films who have used a big budget as they
would look more appealing.

6. appeal
• Our film is set in the uk, based around london.
This would most likely appeal to the uk
audience as they would be able to relate to
the surroundings and relate to the conditions
the characters are in. it would properly would
appeal to other audiences from different areas
but it might not make as much profit. The
main characters are teenagers so it would
attract people of this age group to watch it.

7. The market
• There are many ways in which the movie
could be brought to the attention of the
audience. For example; tv adverts, radio
adverts, trailers at cinemas. We could arrange
interviews for the main characters to promote
the film. The best time to release our movie
would be in the Easter holidays. The reason
for this is not many films are released at this
time so out film wouldnt get overshadowed.

8. Self distribution
• If we self distributed it would give us the
flexibility to choose how we want to promote
the film. However we could struggle if we
actually distributed it ourselves. We wouldn’t
have all the contacts as distributer company
would have to we would struggle. There also
might be a possibility of not doing all the legal
things correctly.
