2. This poster campaign has 1 main image of the victim to use as their background. This image is the
point of focus as it has been enlarged. It also has been put on a black background so the audience
focus mainly on the victims face.
A brief explanation of his story has been placed at the top of the poster in small font. The victims
mouth has been covered with a piece of paper looking like its been ripped showing what they
think their solution should be, In his case Suicidal. The fact that his mouth is covered suggests that
they cant speak out.
At the bottom of the poster, the producer of the poster placed the logo and a website for the
organisation at the bottom of the poster in small font. This is giving credit to the organisation
behind this and also it gives the audience another way to contact the company to find more
information. The font used for the text is very plain and simple. This is so that the audience don’t
get distracted by anything in the words which would put them off taking in the real message. It
also promotes a sense of seriousness and formality.
The word ‘suicide’ has been highlighted in red . This is effective as this is the danger the victim is
facing, and as red connotes danger and is significant as blood, makes the audience realise how
serious and dangerous the consequences can be. The logo has also been placed in red so it can
stand out against the black background. This also is another point of focus as its so bright that it
catches the viewers eyes.
3. On this website, the audience are able to move around by using the drop down
menu to go to other pages on the website. There has been buttons and ads put
on the side which link to the charity and work as interactivity.
The logo has been placed on the top right hand corner of the page. It is bright
and colourful which is easy to see and read. The top bit of the page has vile words
faded in as the background. Since the campaign is called stamp out stigma, the
faded words implies that they want to get rid of this cruel behaviour and attitudes
to people. It almost foreshadows what the message of the campaign is. There is a
large title on the left side of the page underneath the header. This is placed here
as we read from left to right, so the readers will navigate their eyes to this section
of the page. This is followed by text to explain the campaign. The text is small
black text which is readable and plain to also promote how serious they are. The
image next to it also links to the campaign and their message. This has been
placed here as it goes along with the text. The font used for the tile is less formal
than the texts explaining about the campaign. This is to make the viewers feel
comfortable within the page.
The main colours used on this page are pink blue and white. Blue and pink have
been used as they are gender colours to represent male and female. This tells the
audience that the website is targeted to both genders. White has been used as a
background as It is a neutral colour and makes the content of the page easily
seen.
4. The pace and rhythm of the campaign video is quite fast almost as if the shot changes as we blink. This
could be significant of how serious and how quickly things build up for the victims sending a subliminal
message to the viewers.
The campaign video has been arranged so that each character is shown one by one with their mental illness
and showing the effect it has on them. This helps the viewer to understand what is going on. There also has
bene multiple shots of the characters used giving the audience a 360 view of the character. This is to enforce
the idea that it can happen top anyone and everyone. Whilst the characters are standing, the camera
almost duplicated them to make the person seem as if they are trying to break out. This adds to the feeling
of wanting to break out and be free of mental illness which is the purpose of the campaign.
Each character has a card which has their mental illness written on it. This relates to the campaign as it tells
the audience how they feel without having to say it. The video has a voice overs where each characters are
speaking about their conditions and feelings. At the end of their speech, there is a shot of the duplicated
character shouting out although we don’t hear their screams as they are distorted. This is followed by a
phrase they are repetitive of ‘can you hear me?’.
The background of this video is black and it has also been edited to make the video black and white
although the characters have a tape around their mouths which have been left red. This is as red connotes
danger which is significant of what these characters may be feeling and also promote the idea that they are
vulnerable. The plain background prevents the audience from being distracted by anything else they may
see. The shots are taken close up so that the characters are the point of focus also at longshots to show how
there is nobody around to help.
