- A digital video camera that can shoot in black and white - Many modern cameras have filters to achieve a black and white "vintage" look.
- Basic lighting equipment - Lights are essential for shooting without sound to clearly see facial expressions and physical comedy.
- Editing software - You'll need software like Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere to assemble your silent film. Look for titles/effects that enhance the silent era aesthetic.
- Sound design software - While it's a silent film, basic sound effects and a score will enhance the viewing experience. Audacity is a free, basic option.

The document provides options for a media studies coursework project involving creating a music video. It discusses potential songs, artists, genres, and target audiences. For each of three potential songs - "Exit Wounds" by The Script, "Dark Horse" by Katy Perry, and "Autumn Leaves" by Ed Sheeran - it outlines ideas for the narrative, locations, characters, and visual style of a music video that could be created. It also mentions creating additional promotional materials like a digipak and magazine advert to accompany the selected song.
The document discusses a student's experience taking a Music Appreciation course where they felt they learned nothing relevant to their major from the class. While some advisors push students to take easy classes to fill requirements, the student found after taking the class that they did learn about music history and genres even if it didn't directly relate to their career in engineering. The student believes advisors should consider how relevant classes are to a student's major when recommending requirements.
The document summarizes responses from a survey about music preferences. It shows that:
- The majority (74%) of respondents were between 16-20 years old.
- Most (57%) respondents were male, and the most popular music genres were rock (15%) and pop (17%).
- Only 36% of respondents enjoyed alternative metal music.
- When asked about what they would expect to see in an alternative metal music video, many responses involved darkness, black colors, and headbanging.
- The top reasons for liking to watch music videos were to pass time (36%) and to understand the song's meaning (36%).
- Most respondents (81%) had not
The document summarizes and analyzes the cover art of several heavy metal albums. It notes that most covers use dark color palettes, limited ranges of blacks, grays, browns and reds. They often depict confrontational, threatening or violent imagery like blood, agony or religious symbols to match the stereotypical dark and heavy music expected by fans of the genre. While some include images of the bands, most hide behind symbolic imagery that conveys the intended dark themes and attracts the target audience of metal fans.
The document provides details about creating a music magazine, including:
- Choosing the magazine name "Reverb" after conducting research finding positive associations with laid back music.
- Selecting purple as the title font color and a bold font to attract attention and engage the target audience.
- Including articles about celebrities like Lily Allen to appeal to the target audience of teenagers and young adults.
- Developing ideas for the front cover, contents page, and double page article spread layout.

This document contains planning and drafts for a student's double-page magazine spread on musician Amie-Marie. It includes details on color schemes, fonts, layouts, and photos to be used. The main story is Amie-Marie reflecting on her past drug and alcohol abuse which was encouraged by her former bandmate Matt, and how she has changed after rehab.
The document discusses the author's process for planning and creating a contents page for their magazine called "Metal Entity". They go through multiple drafts, focusing on layout, image selection, font choices and keeping the design consistent with the rest of the magazine. They evaluate their final contents page as having an organized structure with a good use of images and fonts to represent the metal genre and draw in readers.
The document provides details on Amber Roberts' planning and design process for the front cover of her magazine "Metal Entity". She discusses choosing a close-up image of Molly from her photo shoot to feature on the cover. Amber also outlines the fonts, colors, masthead, and headlines she will include, such as "100 Greatest Gigs of the Year" and promoting a free Children of Bodom CD. Her goal is to create an eye-catching cover that draws readers in and effectively summarizes the issue's focus on Amie-Marie's career change.
Josh's photo shoot went better than expected, with Amber taking 11 quality images instead of the 3 needed for her magazine's contents page. She wanted to portray Josh as a teenage/early adult metalhead to relate to the magazine's main audience. The shoot took place in Josh's bedroom, which was perfect for capturing his metal posters, guitars, and clothing. Amber was pleased she didn't need extra lighting due to the natural sunlight, having researched to make the shoot as realistic as possible for her target audience.
This shoot went better than expected despite some challenges with the weather. The model, Molly, was easy to work with and followed all of the photographer's directions well. Some images had to be discarded because Molly's eyes were closed, but many strong images were captured. The photographer was pleased with the quality of the images given the equipment used and lighting challenges. Minor edits were made in Photoshop to enhance brightness, contrast, and convert to black and white while maintaining the model's natural look.

This document provides an analysis of the design elements of magazine front covers. It examines several magazine covers in detail, analyzing aspects like the main image, masthead, cover lines, and other design features. Key points made include how the main image is used to attract the target audience, how mastheads stand out from other magazines on shelves, and how cover lines are used to entice readers and draw in different subscriber groups. Analysis of specific covers discusses how images and design convey messages about the featured artists and align with magazine brands. Overall, the document demonstrates an understanding of how magazine covers are designed to appeal to audiences and sell issues through visual rhetoric.
This document summarizes Amber Roberts' process of creating a magazine for her college. She began by brainstorming possible topics for the magazine, including student issues, clubs, and local businesses. Her target audience became "girly girls" as they seemed to be the largest demographic at the college. She created a draft magazine cover using basic design software that received feedback it had too much text. For her final cover, Amber used a black and white photo of her friend Natalie that she felt was eye-catching without being overloaded of information. She was happier with the feedback on her final cover design.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

2. Ideas - From my research i have decided to go down the metal genre. Which appears to be quite a niche market, but with lots of fans in this genre so i wont lose any profit when i go to sell my magazine. I did have these slides in my planning but i felt that it was far too long, so i made a new one for my target audience and there is a mood board at the end to show what my target audience gets up to in thier own time
9. Artist talent is known to be associated with the emos. anime is popular with emo girls and guys. Usually, Emo kids like to express their feelings writing poems and song lyrics about their problems with depression, loneliness, confusion, and anger; all because the world fails to understand them. Emo's like to go to gigs and gather on online communities such as this site, MySpace, Facebook, Bebo etc. In fact you can find a lot of emo's on the Internet. As a quick example, check out MySpace. It's the equivalent of a mating season for snakes, for emo's. Emos have a preference for taking photos using weird camera angles and Photoshopping them. The behaviors, attitudes, and values expressed through the music involve emotionally turbulent themes often associated with adolescence such as despair, nostalgia, heartbreak, hope, and self-loathing. The various and sometimes conflicting social practices associated with Emo subculture contain valuable insights into what it means to be an adolescent today. Life style of emos Emo kids love the same things that other teenagers (and adults) do: they keep friends, love, smile and cry, go to the cinema or to concerts. Emos just tend to take the world around them in a more emotional way. Thier hair styles are also veryimportant as they all have thier own tasate and styles. Some have pink, black red or any colour hair and try to express who they are through thier hair. Emo kids seek out each other to express their views on a society that they hate. The Internet has helped emo spread its web, allowing kids to access bands, ideas, ideology and emo culture.
11. Make up and hair Emos are known for thier heavy eye liner and a white gothic look. All of the genres are very simliar with thier styles and music taste, but each one has a differnt twist to it. here they apply a lot to make thier eyes look ott. And apply black eye shadow to make the look even more dramatic
13. About the music Emo music is music is a highly emotional and very straightforward in the expression of that emotion. However its a raging somewhat like screaming anger and aggression. To them the lyrics that talk about crying in despair , love, break ups, losing someone close too you, not being able to cope, drugs or alcohol addition or anything else. They tend to listen to lyrics like this as they feel they are being accepted for who they are and aren't being judged. But sometimes they can take the lyrics to seriously and take advantage on this and take it one step too far for instance in 2007 my chemical romance were being criticised for being a cult and the reason for so many teenage suicidal which in my opinion the media couldn’t find anyone to blame so put it on them as they were in the lime light then. Also there are different styles of Emo music such as emocore and screamo, what is Emo music is an ambiguous definition.
113. Make up styles Over the top eyeliner to draw attention the eyes Porcelain foundation to give that dead look Lots of mascara to make the eyes look dramatic Black eye shadow
114.
115. They tend to have the I don't care about society look on their face or looking as if they are in despair or they are blaming the world for everything that's happened to them, when in fact its usually their own fault? Maybe?
116. They are obsessed with inverted crosses and love to be seen with weird and wacky clothes like Victorian style dresses, dog collars and even sometimes and dog leash!?!
119. Music to them means.... Gothic rock subgenre of alternative rock and post-punk that came around in the late 1970s. Its combined with dark and heavy music with sad lyrics. As well as rock and metal, thier are other types of gothic music which usually isnt associated with them. The Goth's closest musical relations are punk, Industrial, New Romantic, dark cabaret, neo-classical, dark ambient and steampunk. Other popular but less closely-related genres include J-rock classical and ambient music, and Gothic, symphonic and operatic metal. Goth is an umbrella term for many of the types of music , including but certainly not limited to the following. But with all these different types of music to choose from, the budding Goth is practically spoilt for choice.
247. Life style of a metal head To be honest, everyone of these genres are the same and they aren't different to the rest of us, but as I need to find out what they do, here is a list of what they usually do:- They are the most loyal fans anyone could think of, once they are hooked on a band they will be buying all their merchant dice, cds, new EP’s, go to all their new gigs and have a signed object and a picture of them with a band member. Music is their life- it really is, there are so many sub cultured music here i.e. thrash, metal , heavy metal, dub metal ( I think its called they) and there are so many more! They tend to have long hair and go for the I haven't had a wash or hair cut in months look. But they do wash I swear!. They tend to learn an instrument and turn to this for inspiration and start up their own band and hope to make a career out of it one day. Usually it never leaves the garage door! Their idols are everything to them, they listen to their music for inspiration, when they are having a hard time or don't know what to-do. They live for gigs and live to head bang till they die! The best thing that they love being in is a wall of death.
250. Meaning of the music This type of music is very aggressive and very offending as many metal bands are Satanists and usually you get people on bloggs or wall posts saying their being offended by the lyrics, when in full truth that's what metal is all about. This is a very good form of letting of steam. As the music its self is very angry and can last for more than 10 minutes for one song, which is quite long. Metal lovers listen to this music to feel a relase from thier hates lives and feel loved by an artist who’s supposed singing about how they feel. Another thing which is followed in this is HEAD BANGING! This is awesome to do at a gig, but in the long run can be quite dangerous but as the rock stars say live for today, F tomorrow. The music which metal lovers listen to is always best heard live as the atmosphere well its amazing and not one for the faint hearted as you will leave the gig covered in bruises and cuts. Mosh pits are at the front and the best place to be, but if they want to get a massive thrill, a wall of death is started and the whole crowd just splits in half and on the count of three everyone runs at each other pushing shoving throwing etc, it can get pretty brutal in there. The best wall of deaths that you can go in are at the lamb of god gigs!

261. Percings are another big thing you dont have to havethem but it adds to the look of being scene. Which means being differnt to the rest Taking pictures is also another part of showing off thier amazing hair! As why would you want to spend all that time putting on the makeup and teasing your hair to just let no one see?? Life style Applying make up is also a scene thing as well they have to have loads of eye liner either pencil or liquid with mascara either eye shadow or none and a healthy foundation Getting the hair big takes a lot of time! As you have to straighten it so its extra straight, then spilt it into loads of layers and tease it back with a comb or brush and apply loads of hair spray to get the fullness to stay. Then when you have done this brush the top so you don't see any of the knots extra, add a few bows and bam your done Hair is everything to scene kids, literally! They like- well love their hair to be the best hair in the world and are always trying to get it to be different i.e. with new hair dye, hair extensions or highlights. They like to customise it with hair ribbons and bows to make it look extra cool.
262. Fashion Scene means colourful happy and being individual. Its very similar to emo, but the exact opposite at the same time. Scenes love to wear bright in your face colours, so they stand out from a crowd. They generally wear, skinny's or ,leggings, shorts or tights with colourful tops this look is easy to achieve and will be good for my magazine as I could brighten it up a little bit.
263. Music On the next page is some scene like music, although some of the bands do cross into other genres these are some of the bands that I found ( there are so many more)
266. Geoffrey Parisamy can fly daphne loves derby Wecamewithbrokenteeth, Iwrestledabearonce. Set your friends on fire Breathe Carolina enter shikari blood on the dance floor Hadouken!
271. From all my research it has enabled me to learn more about what my target audience will be doing and will in turn enable me to have more appropriate stuff ie relevant bands, music, gigs, merchendice to sell etc. So i do think that this was a good thing to do. As i am more into the metal music i can use my own knowledge and experiences in my magazine so i will know what to say or put in them.
