MY TARGET
AUDIENCE
What age will my
audience be?
The audience of my magazine will be female
teenage girls aged 13-16. I have researched
looking at other existing magazines and they are
all aimed at 13-16 year olds. Therefore I will follow
their example and aim mine at this age range
too.
What gender will I be
aiming at.
The gender of my magazine will be female. I will
be aiming at females because in my opinion I
think females listen to pop music more than boys
do. The colours, images and storylines will be
more aimed at females.
What occupation will my
audience have?
The occupation of my audience will be students
because the age of my audience is 13-16 year
olds. They will currently be studying at school.
Which class will my
audience be?
The class of my audience will be working
class/middle class. I think that upper class
wouldn’t buy my magazine as it will be informal
and I think they would listen to a more
‘sophisticated’ style of music.
How much wealth will
my target audience have?
My target audience will probably have a
reasonable amount of wealth as they are
working/middle class. They may not be able to
afford to buy a magazine every week, but may be
able to every now and then.
What kind of interests
will my audience have?
My audience will be interested in the gossip of
pop stars. Their love lives, new songs, concerts,
fashion and the pop stars lifestyle. I know this
because these are the type of things me and my
friends are in to and would only be interested in
reading magazines because of these things.
What will my audience
inspire to be?
They would inspire to be famous. People who
read the magazine and are fans of the artists
surround their lives with the latest news on pop
artists and base their lives around them i.e. what
they wear, how they appear etc.
How am I going to reach
them?
I will reach them by using feminine colours.
Cover lines they will be interested in and images
that attract them to the magazine. I will include
fashion tips, gossip, tour dates and advice from
the artists into my magazine.
