This document discusses the relevance of co-working practices for social and creative innovation in the Mediterranean region. It outlines a vision for the Mediterranean in 2020 where new innovation potentials will be unlocked. Creative and social innovation will drive the development of a new Mediterranean model of innovation characterized by triple/quadruple loop learning. The realization of this vision will occur through transforming individual projects into an active Mediterranean innovation ecosystem. The document examines how co-working practices emphasized by the COWORKMED project, such as citizen engagement and non-monetary transactions, can highlight the potential of spatial and physical capital to contribute to this vision.

1. The harmonious development of the Mediterranean area in 2020 will be based
on the unleashing of new and unforeseen innovation potentials.
2. The Mediterranean culture will be providing the ideal climate for the on-going
development of a globally recognized new model of innovation.
3. Creative and social innovation will be playing a driving role in defining this
Mediterranean model.
4. The Mediterranean model of innovation will be constantly validated and
instantiated in practice through both research and action.
5. The uptake of these effective innovations will be driven by triple (quadruple)
loop learning, facilitated by new approaches to monitoring and indicators.
6. Realisation of this TALIA vision will be occuring through the transformation of
individual MED project participants into active players in an evolving yet
coherent Mediterranean-wide innovation ecosystem.
