SYNOPSIS ANALYSIS
TAMIRA BELLO
QUESTION 1EVALUATION
I THOUGHT THAT ALL OF 100% OF THE AUDIENCE WOULD BE ABLE TO CLEARLY
SEE WHAT THE WORLD, CHARACTER AND PROBLEM WAS IN MY SYNOPSIS.
QUESTION 1: EXPLAIN THE WORLD, CHARACTER AND PROBLEM
In all 4 responses they answered differently when I was
just expecting them to say a location, some spoke about
location and some spoke of a metaphorical world.
All responses were accurate responses and makes it clear
that they could tell who my main character was which
shows that I showed it clearly.
Some said that the problem was her being transgender
and others said the problem was her coming out to her
dad, this shows I need to translate more that the issue is
about my character coming out to people rather than
them thinking the problem is being transgenderThese results showed my hypothesis was not correct and people view
the world of the character differently. They all got the main character
correct but they had different views on what the problem is.
QUESTION 2 ANALYSIS
I assumed that 100% of my
results would say that Chloe my
main character was the main
point of view. of my synopsis as I
tried to show this by her
emotions and by following her
actions through out the whole
thing.
All of my responses agreed that
my synopsis shows that the POV is
from my main character.
One response said that slightly
clear, this has made me re
evaluate my synopsis to patch up
places to make it more clear.
Who’s POV is the story told from? Is this clear?
How?
QUESTION 3 ANALYSIS
Two of the responses said that it is
centered around Chloe’s feelings
whilst the other said it is about how
she is going to open up to her
father. I need to find a way to make
it clear that the problem is about
how she doesn't’t know how to tell
any body and how everyone just
assumes but nobody realizes.
I thought everyone would
think that opening up to
people and her father about
her gender
Is the main problem the heart of the film? Explain
To make this more clear I need to add more moments with other people that highlights the mis
understanding that Chloe has so often.
QUESTION 4 ANALYSIS
I thought all of my responses would
say that my protagonists motivation
was to try and find her real self which
drives to open up to people.
My responses mostly said that the drive to be
and find herself and to become male was her
motivation, whilst one said the thing that
motivated her to open up.
Although it is correct that the fact she could confide
in ted helped her open up, I want to make it clear
that the motivation through out the synopsis is the
want to be male and the want to be accepted for how
she is.

QUESTION 5 ANALYSIS
I assumed that people would find
shopping for prom dresses a familiar
ritual or at least shopping if they didn't go
to prom. I was proved correct when all my
responses said shopping was a familiar
ritual.
All responses recognized the familiar seeing as
being at home and some found the shopping
establishment as a familiar setting. It is good I
have been able to fit in settings that the audience
can relate to and that they notice that.
Any familiar settings and familiar rituals?
QUESTION 6 ANALYSIS
I was expecting my responses to say that they
thought the single event to be when she has
her make over with Ted
Only one response noticed that was the
part I wanted to be the biggest impact
By getting these results it showed me that I need to
be more descriptive and more obvious about the
fact that the makeover scene is meant to be the
most hard hitting section of the piece.
Does the story encompass a single moment/event? Describe
it.
QUESTION 7 ANALYSIS
I expected people to say that the
stakes were high enough as I believe
that they are because by Chloe wanted
to reveal this secret it puts her at
danger of being rejected, bullied and
could affect her life.
The responses all could see that the
stakes were high enough because of
the risk she is taking as no one can
actually predict how people are going

QUESTION 8 ANALYSIS
It translated two different meanings to the
audience which were in short terms, “be yourself”
and “to accept people how they are.
These are the two messages I was attempting to
translate.
I wanted “be yourself” to be the message I wanted
everyone to see so I need to emphasize the
sadness that she was in before she could become
what she wanted to be and how happy she was
after her makeover.
Is there at least one clear message that the audience could take
away? What is it?
QUESTION 9 ANALYSIS
I expected them to see that I could
shoot this film on a zero budget as I
barely require anything that isn’t part
of my already hoe furniture or
anything I own
Although I may need to spend
minimal money to buy a wig and
print out some pictures in order to
stare cutting real hair and to make
it look realistic and the pictures to
make the story line clearer.
Is this film doable on a zero
budget?

Synopsis analysis

  • 2. QUESTION 1EVALUATION I THOUGHT THAT ALL OF 100% OF THE AUDIENCE WOULD BE ABLE TO CLEARLY SEE WHAT THE WORLD, CHARACTER AND PROBLEM WAS IN MY SYNOPSIS. QUESTION 1: EXPLAIN THE WORLD, CHARACTER AND PROBLEM In all 4 responses they answered differently when I was just expecting them to say a location, some spoke about location and some spoke of a metaphorical world. All responses were accurate responses and makes it clear that they could tell who my main character was which shows that I showed it clearly. Some said that the problem was her being transgender and others said the problem was her coming out to her dad, this shows I need to translate more that the issue is about my character coming out to people rather than them thinking the problem is being transgenderThese results showed my hypothesis was not correct and people view the world of the character differently. They all got the main character correct but they had different views on what the problem is.

QUESTION 2 ANALYSIS I assumed that 100% of my results would say that Chloe my main character was the main point of view. of my synopsis as I tried to show this by her emotions and by following her actions through out the whole thing. All of my responses agreed that my synopsis shows that the POV is from my main character. One response said that slightly clear, this has made me re evaluate my synopsis to patch up places to make it more clear. Who’s POV is the story told from? Is this clear? How?
  • 4. QUESTION 3 ANALYSIS Two of the responses said that it is centered around Chloe’s feelings whilst the other said it is about how she is going to open up to her father. I need to find a way to make it clear that the problem is about how she doesn't’t know how to tell any body and how everyone just assumes but nobody realizes. I thought everyone would think that opening up to people and her father about her gender Is the main problem the heart of the film? Explain To make this more clear I need to add more moments with other people that highlights the mis understanding that Chloe has so often.
  • 5. QUESTION 4 ANALYSIS I thought all of my responses would say that my protagonists motivation was to try and find her real self which drives to open up to people. My responses mostly said that the drive to be and find herself and to become male was her motivation, whilst one said the thing that motivated her to open up. Although it is correct that the fact she could confide in ted helped her open up, I want to make it clear that the motivation through out the synopsis is the want to be male and the want to be accepted for how she is. Explain what motivates your protagonist
  • 6. QUESTION 5 ANALYSIS I assumed that people would find shopping for prom dresses a familiar ritual or at least shopping if they didn't go to prom. I was proved correct when all my responses said shopping was a familiar ritual. All responses recognized the familiar seeing as being at home and some found the shopping establishment as a familiar setting. It is good I have been able to fit in settings that the audience can relate to and that they notice that. Any familiar settings and familiar rituals?

QUESTION 6 ANALYSIS I was expecting my responses to say that they thought the single event to be when she has her make over with Ted Only one response noticed that was the part I wanted to be the biggest impact By getting these results it showed me that I need to be more descriptive and more obvious about the fact that the makeover scene is meant to be the most hard hitting section of the piece. Does the story encompass a single moment/event? Describe it.

QUESTION 7 ANALYSIS I expected people to say that the stakes were high enough as I believe that they are because by Chloe wanted to reveal this secret it puts her at danger of being rejected, bullied and could affect her life. The responses all could see that the stakes were high enough because of the risk she is taking as no one can actually predict how people are going Are the stakes high enough? Explain
  • 9. QUESTION 8 ANALYSIS It translated two different meanings to the audience which were in short terms, “be yourself” and “to accept people how they are. These are the two messages I was attempting to translate. I wanted “be yourself” to be the message I wanted everyone to see so I need to emphasize the sadness that she was in before she could become what she wanted to be and how happy she was after her makeover. Is there at least one clear message that the audience could take away? What is it?

QUESTION 9 ANALYSIS I expected them to see that I could shoot this film on a zero budget as I barely require anything that isn’t part of my already hoe furniture or anything I own Although I may need to spend minimal money to buy a wig and print out some pictures in order to stare cutting real hair and to make it look realistic and the pictures to make the story line clearer. Is this film doable on a zero budget?
