In order to achieve and identify what appeals to our audience. We created a
questionnaire of 10 question including 8 closed and 2 open questions and
posed a variety of questions related to the thriller genre and had variety of
age ranges to get a clear idea of whose going to be out target audience for
our thriller opening.

In this question we wanted to know which thriller movie appeals most to
the audience and most of the people selected Dark Knight Series as one of
their favourite thriller movie. Second highest was Inception and both the
movies are under the sub genre of psychological thriller which is the genre
for our movie.

Most of the people we interviewed chose psychological as their choice for sub-
genre. Whereas, majority chose action too. The psychological sub genre suits
me because we are going to base our movie under psychological thriller.

Most of the people I interviewed preferred suspense as one of the features of
a thriller movie. However, tension and mystery got equal votes. This gave me
a broader idea of the features most likely to be preferred by the participants.
I would like my opening to have suspense and tension both in order to make
it more appealing to the audience and meeting the wants and needs of the
target audience.

7. Do you like film opening to have a cliff openers?

Whereas, a lot of them were not sure of it. This idea suits me
because our opening is going to consist of a cliff opener leaving
the audience for wanting to watch more.

suits me because we now know that our audience would like to see an
opening with a good plot and which makes sense. All the other features got
nearly the same votes which also is important as without those the movie

Mostly, we always see a male protagonist in a movie, there are very less
movies where a female is the protagonist. However, that’s what my
answer to this question tells me most of the participants chose to see a
male protagonist. Our movie does not consist of a male protagonist as
it’s a psychological thriller and is based around a female protoganist.
