The technique of film editing and sound is at work in this extract. Scottish
teenagers are being represented in this extract, I recognisethat they are
Scottish because of the stereotypical regional accent.
The key representativearea in the extract is class and status in this extract and
also age, mostly teenagers and children. They are being represented as
low/working class becausethe area they live in is scummy and is the type of
area a family of low economic class would live in, for example there is rubbish
on the floor and the houses are also small including the main characters house.
In the beginning of this extract there is a child spinning in a curtain and the
scene is in black and white and a camera technique of slow motion is used,
non-diegetic sounds of children playing is on. The black and white on the child
shows thathe has a sad life that lacks something or is about to have an
upcoming problem. The technique of slow motion was used to show that the
child is in his own world like mostchildren are until his mum stepped in, which
reflects real life.
The colour palette is dull and grey creating feelings of sadness and isolation.
