Running Great Design Reviews With Clients & PartnersCraig Peters
No matter how great your designs are, the way you communicate with your clients/business partners can make or break your engagement, especially as design challenges and organizations become more complex.
But what actually makes some meetings go well, and others not? We’ve heard “Be storytellers,” “Provide the right context,” and “Set expectations,” but what does that look like in practice?
I’ll provide real-life examples of how we’ve done this in our presentations for client engagements. We’ll include examples of our fundamental concepts we live by. No surprises. Over-communicate. Tell them how to be and what to do in the meeting. Design every slide of a presentation, not just the “designs.” Tell a story. Assume your clients have no idea what your meeting is all about (put yourself in their shoes).
It always goes better when you’re well prepared; we’ll help you get there.

Rateocracy: When Everyone and Everything Has A RatingSwipp
Rateocracy, a future in which everyone and everything has a rating, is quickly approaching. Today we rate people, products, restaurants and places in a fragmented way. But, there are strong commercial reasons for a peer-generated, numeric rating system that allows cross-comparison. How will Rateocracy evolve and what are its implications?
How will this impact corporations and organizations? What will life in the Rateocracy era feel like? Come explore these questions in a session built on the outline published in The Futurist and ResearchWorld magazines.
This presentation was given by Robert Moran (Brunswick Group) and Christopher Carfi (Swipp) at the World Future Society annual meeting in Chicago in July 2013. #wf13

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

9. Widgets in the Wordpress sidebar
Putting a widget in the sidebar of a Wordpress blog is very straightforward. From your Wordpress
admin page, go to Appearance > Widgets, and place a Text widget in your sidebar. Then, paste the
widget code into the body of that Text widget and click “Save.”
9
10. Putting widgets into Wordpress posts
Putting a widget in a Wordpress post is straightforward, with one catch...you need to be in “Text”
mode for this to work. While editing your post in “Text” mode, paste the widget code directly into
the body of your post and hit “Save.”
NOTE: Wordpress
automatically strips
any widget code
from a post if you
switch from “Text” to
“Visual” mode.
This is a Wordpress
“feature,” and not a
Swipp constraint.
10
11. Putting widgets in the Blogger sidebar
Putting a widget in your Blogger sidebar requires adding an HTML/JavaScript gadget to your sidebar
in the Layout editor, and then pasting the widget code into the “content” area of the gadget.
After placing the
gadget in your
sidebar, edit the
gadget and paste
the widget code
Click “Layout”
into content area
Choose HTML
gadget
11
12. Putting widgets in Blogger posts
Putting a widget in a Blogger post is crazy-simple. Just paste the widget code into the body of your
post in “HTML” mode and save the post.
12
13. Other websites and platforms
Widgets can be placed into nearly any type of website, from blogging platforms to content
management systems to hand-crafted sites. If you come up with any great examples of innovative
places you’ve integrated widgets, we’d love to hear about them! Email us at business@swipp.com.
13
14. A few Swipp Plus use cases
Swipp is a distributed platform. If you’ve used the Swipp website at swipp.com or used the Swipp iPhone
app, you’ve touched on two “end-user” entry points into the Swipp universe.
We believe social intelligence will be everywhere. Swipp Plus provides additional types of on-ramps into
this collective stream. For example, Swipp Widgets can be embedded into nearly any kind of website:
blogs, commerce sites and even maps.
