2. Question
Our question is why do big companies have sweatshops
and how can we stop them?
3. Sub Questions
How many sweatshops are there?
Where are they?
How many workers are immigrants?
How many companies that stop sweatshops are there?
4. Hypothesis
Sweatshops exist because companies want to make more
money. This leads to workers not being paid enough and
thus making their lives miserable. This also means that
Nike or the makers have to try and hide the workers
misery when their advisors come and have a look so they
don’t get in trouble for not paying and being nice to the
workers. We can stop them by protesting and making big
companies to help stop them
5. Question For Part 1
The reason why big companies have sweatshop is
because they can give their workers low wage and they
earn a lot of profit, just by doing this. The Big Companies
doesn’t need to worry about life insurance or medical
insurance for their workers. The owners can do what ever
they want to do their workers like hitting them and
forcing them to work longer. The owners can ask to work
longer because the workers there want to work longer
just to get more money and afford food or water.
7. Question for Part 2
We can stop sweatshops by protesting about them, tell
everyone on social media to help stop sweatshops.
People can make a campaign about to stop sweatshop.
We can write a letter to the government to help stop
sweatshops. We can make a video about sweatshops and
put it on the internet for everyone to see. People will look
at the video and they may also help you with the protest
or the campaign. Unicef or another organisation can also
help stop sweatshops and will be really helpful.
8. Answer for Sub Question 1 and 2
There are sweatshops in every country even richer
countries like USA, China, India and so on. But people
haven’t fully counted every sweatshops in the world. But
people have found out that the country that has most
sweatshops is a country that is really poor.
9. Answer to Sub Question 3
In 2011, Mexico had 513 people who were immigrants
and works in sweatshops. Reporters are still trying to find
how much immigrants that work for sweatshops. If you
were a immigrant who worked for a sweatshop, they
instantly take your passport until your working contract is
over and you can return to your country.
10. Answer to Sub Question 4
There are lot of companies that help to stop sweatshop
like Australian TV Channel 7. But there are lot of infamous
campaigns that are everywhere in the world. Even Nilo
has a infamous campaign, which we hope that you will
support. Unicef have tried to stop child labour which is
also included as a sweatshop.
11. Conclusion
Our Hypothesis was correct, we have found a lot of
information as a group and we used them really well in
our website, video and our Presentation. Next time we
should not fight over small because we had a little fight
about small things that could be resolved really easily.
