What is industrialisation? <ul><li>Industrialisation is a social and economic process that changes a pre-industrial society into an industrial one. </li></ul><ul><li>In the UK this was linked to the development of large scale energy and metal processing (i.e. iron and steel plants). </li></ul><ul><li>As a result a large number of people became employed in secondary industries in manufacturing factory work. </li></ul>
