Sustainable development aims to meet present needs without compromising future generations by protecting resources. It requires scientists, economists, and social scientists to work together on sustainability issues. The document outlines 9 objectives for sustainable development, including continuing family planning programs, maintaining land and water resources, reducing pollution, and implementing ecological projects. Introduction :
Sustainable development is development that
meets the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations
to meet their own needs. Sustainable
development has continued to evolve as that
of protecting the world’s resources while its
true agenda is to control the world’s
resources.

2. Sustainability of development is a comparatively a new area
of knowledge in which scientists , economics , philosophers
and other social scientists are working together.
Sustainable development represents an opportunity to
construct a new approach , and the success of these efforts
has powerful implications for issues of peace and security

3. Objectives :
1) Continue to implement the family planning program
2) Maintain a dynamic balance of arable land and implement
an agricultural developmental strategy
3) Maintain a dynamic balance of water by resources by
reducing water consumption for every unit of gross
4) Import large quantities of oil and natural gas
5) Control emissions of carbon dioxide and suffer dioxide by
large cities and industries and close high pollution thermal
power plants.
6) Import large quantities of iron , ore , copper , zinc ,
aluminium and other minerals and encourage foriegn
participation in resource exploration and development
7) Make time-bound commitments to clean up large cities ,
rivers , lakes and forcefully close down seriously polluting
enterprises

4. 8) Implement a massive ecological construction project
to slow down ecological degradation
9) Develop the environmental industry and eco-
buildup to expand domestic demand , increase
employment , and alleviate poverty.

9. Facts
1) The term sustainability has its most known
roots in the 1987 Brundtland report which
officially defined sustainable development for
the first time.
2) In 2016 many world leaders adopted the
United Nation’s 17 global goals/Sustainable
development goals to improve life all around
the world and preserve the earth’s resources
and fight climate change

10. 3) The concept of circular economy looks beyond
societies current take-make- dispose model to create a
more restorative economy which designs out waste ,
keeps products and material use for as long as possible
and regenerates natural system.
4) Climate change is defined as “ a change of climate
that is attributed directly and indirectly to human
activity , that alters the composition of the global
atmosphere , and that is in to natural climate variability
over a comparable time period.”

11. 5) China is the world’s top polluter emitting 10,357 metric
tons of carbon dioxide , followed by united states , India ,
Russia and Japan.
6) Human caused emissions of carbon dioxide needs to
fall 45% from 2010 levels by 2030 and reach net zero
around 2050 to limited change catastrophe.
7) Energy is the domaint contributor to climate change ,
accounting from around 60% of total global greenhouse
gas emissions
8) If people worldwide switched to energy efficient light
bulbs the world would save 105 billion euros annually .

12. The federal government has many commitments on the
environment and sustainable development . Making these
commitments is one thing but achieving and measuring
the results is another . In this report , we looked at four
federal developments to see if they were making progress
on commitments they made to parliament in their 2001
sustainable development strategies are important tools
that represent the objectives and action plans of
departments and agencies for furthering sustainable
development .
