This document lists people who would survive or die in a post-apocalyptic scenario where only four can survive. It argues that a scientist, army officer, doctor, and five year old girl would survive. The scientist and doctor are valued for their intelligence and medical skills. The army officer provides survival skills and medical training. The girl is needed to repopulate the earth. Those who would die include a priest, married drug addicts, a mother, elderly woman, disabled person, lawyer, lazy welfare dependent, and university professor whose specialty is unknown. Reasons for dying include lack of skills, old age, disability, laziness, or being unnecessary for survival.

This document presents a scenario where 13 survivors of an avian flu pandemic must decide which 4 of the survivors will stay in an underground bunker that can only sustain 4 people for 2 years. The 13 survivors include a scientist, priest, married drug-addicted couple, single pregnant woman with a 5-year old daughter, mentally unstable army officer, elderly woman, disabled person, lawyer, lazy welfare dependent, and university professor. After discussion, the group decided to keep the scientist for his knowledge and ingenuity, the 5-year old girl to carry on the human race, the doctor to care for their health, and the university professor to educate the child. For this assignment, the class had to visit the International Festival that the International Students host every year. We learned a lot about different cultures and many interesting facts. They had several tables with many items, foods, and other stuff from many countries. They also had many performances.
Obituary
Hannah Herbert passed away at home at the age of 100 from natural causes. She was found by her children who had planned a family dinner. She was a beloved wife, mother, and social worker who overcame Asperger's Syndrome through therapy as a child. Herbert believed that God had a plan for everyone and encouraged children in foster care to find meaning in their lives and faith in difficult times. She won awards for her career but felt her greatest reward was helping children in need. Her funeral will be held on August 29th followed by her burial and a luncheon for family and friends.

Angry eyes
The "Angry Eyes" video experimented with segregating participants into blue-eyed and brown-eyed groups to demonstrate how forced segregation affected feelings and treatment. The brown-eyed group was disrespected and made to feel worthless by the person in charge, who showed special attention only to the blue-eyed people. This gave participants insight into the mental, physical, and emotional challenges faced by segregated groups in the past and encouraged them not to judge people based on differences.

Hannah Herbert M/W/F 8/28/15 Survival 101 Keep: -Scientist; Female; Can take care of the plants and be in charge of the greenhouse. -Army Officer; Male; Can be in charge of training the new world for defense. -Doctor; Male; Can take care of anything medical and be in charge of the group. -University Professor; Female; Can teach the new world. Kill:-Priest; could keep the peace, but can’t reproduce. -Married hippie couple; does drugs most of the time. -A Single pregnant mother with a 5 year old; will be too busy with her children. -An elderly woman; can’t contribute as much and could die any day. -A disable person; could have difficulties with helping. -Lawyer; could argue and demand they’re the perfect one for everything. -Lazy Welfare Dependent; won’t do anything but lay around and eat all the food. Reflection: I would choose the Scientist, Army Officer, Doctor, and University Professor because they can reproduce the world with knowledge and many skills to rebuild the world. I choose to kill all the rest because they couldn’t contribute to help rebuild the new world; they had distractions of their own to not help out.
