1. Privilege Walk
1. We were asked questions that lead or reflected the “American Dream”; if the affect was
positive, then we took a step forward and if the affect was negative, then we took a step
back. When the answers were done, we had to look around and see who had the dream
and who didn’t.
2. This exercise made me feel neutral; I didn’t know how to feel for myself or others.
3. I thought many of us were close to it; but the more the questions asked about our family
and race/gender/etc., the less of us went forward.
4. I learned that it’s not about your family’s past that can either lead you to the dream; but it
also involves your gender/race/etc.
5. I can use this to gain more access in the future; there might be times when I come to a
dead end, but it the end it will work out.
