The nasopharynx is the uppermost part of the pharynx located behind the nasal cavities. It is approximately 4cm in length and width. The nasopharynx extends from the base of the skull to the soft palate. Lymphatic drainage of the nasopharynx occurs through the lateral retropharyngeal lymph nodes and upper deep cervical nodes.
