Leadership Theory And Philosophy Of Leadership Essay
The belief of leadership is constantly changing, with many theories and frameworks available. Today s
organizations face ever increasing change, which includes increased patient demands and work needs,
which requires a more adaptive flexible leadership that is becoming increasingly important in the 21st
century. Leadership theory and philosophy can be divided into several well known styles. Within this
paper, we will discuss the basis of autocratic, democratic, laissez faire, servant, charismatic,
transformational, and situational styles of leadership within the nursing profession, then conclude the
writer s personal philosophies of leadership.
To begin, autocratic leadership involves leaders to make decisions without input from their followers
(Frandsen, 2014). This style of leadership also incorporates negative reinforcement. Maboko (2011)
gathered that nurse managers who embodied an autocratic leadership style yield registered nurses to
feel unappreciated, criticized and blamed. On the other hand, a democratic leadership encourages and
facilitates open discussions and participation from its followers. Followers are given responsibility,
accountability and constructive feedback to improve (Frandsen, 2014). McKeown and Carey (2015)
stated the lack of democracy and participation is one of many sources of a decreased morale. The lack
of control had a negative connotation on nurses and their relationships with patients. Additionally, this
resulted in fragmented care and poor

The Effect Of Ph On Enzyme Activity Of Peroxidase
Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase
Thomas Stinde
March 15, 2016
Coconino Community College Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase
For us to understand what the effects pH have on enzyme activity of peroxidase, we must first define
what an enzyme is and what is done as well as a peroxidase. According to the Oxford Dictionary of
English, an enzyme is, a substance produced by a living organism which acts as a catalyst to bring
about a specific biochemical reaction (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Nearly all enzymes are proteins
which have large complex molecules whose actions depends on their molecular shape. Some enzymes
dictate reactions inside cells and some, such as enzymes which deal with digestion, outside the cell
(Oxford Dictionary, 2012). The factors which affect enzyme activity are the environmental conditions.
If these conditions are changed, then the enzyme reaction rate is altered. In nature, organisms will
make adjustments to their enzyme conditions to create an optimal reaction rate, when needed, or the
organisms will contain enzymes which are modified to operate efficiently in extreme environments
where they live. Peroxidase is, an enzyme that catalyses the oxidation of a particular substrate by
hydrogen peroxide (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of cellular
respiration; therefore, the peroxidase is located in the cytoplasm of the cell.
In our lab, we checked the reaction rate of peroxidase and tried to find the

Essay On Patriotism
Service Shows More than Patriotism The healthcare reform debate has been on the minds of many
Americans in recent years. Democrats have worked to put Obamacare in place in 2009 and want to fix
issues using the existing platform. Many Republicans are currently working to repeal and replace
Obamacare with Trumpcare. The healthcare debate has come to a standstill in Congress as deep party
lines persist. In August 2017, following the fights over the universal healthcare debate, TCA Regional
News reported that Democrat Amy McGrath is running for Congress in the state of Kentucky against
Republican Andy Barr in 2018 (Yeager). McGrath felt led to run due to Barr s support of repealing the
Affordable Care Act and due to the lessons she learned at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is another image used to demonstrate the American army s protection and promote patriotism.
The value of patriotism is seen throughout military and American flag images in the advertisement.
The value of nontraditional gender roles is subtly seen through the auditory and visual illustrations in
the advertisement. Amy McGrath explains that in a previous experience of hers, her local
Congressman wrote to her that he believed that women should not be allowed to serve in combat as
the image of the letter appears on screen with the parts mentioned highlighted. McGrath explains that
she persisted and joined the Naval Academy anyway. This appeals to nontraditional gender roles
because it persuades the viewers that McGrath is different because she is a woman who broke the
mold in a male dominated area. McGrath is also seen with having short hair and wearing a dark
bomber jacket, white button up, and loose pants. McGrath is noticeably not wearing much make up
and has simple earrings and a wedding band. By wearing non feminine clothes, McGrath appeals to
value of nontraditional gender roles. McGrath is shown to walking with her husband and young
children down a grassy hill. McGrath is seen in a bright pink shirt and khaki dress pants while holding
her husband s hand. Her husband is wearing a blue button up shirt and dark dress pants while holding
their toddler. Twin preschooler boys, dressed in the same blue polo and khaki shorts, run and play in
front of their parents.

The Crucible Paranoia Analysis
What do you think of when you hear the word mass hysteria? In the Crucible, a play written by Arthur
Miller, is both an allegory and tragedy where the Puritan society of Salem is attacked with the hysteria
of witchcraft. It all started with five young girls of the Salem society caught dancing naked around a
bonfire. This practice is viewed upon by the Puritans as the task of the devil. In the beginning of the
play, there was controversy about ownership of land between some of the villagers. Later in the story,
people feared for their own safety and begin pointing fingers and accusing their neighbors of
witchcraft in order to escape being hanged. This caused the society to get more and more separated as
time went on. This emphasizes the idea of how fear and suspicion can destroy a society due to
accusations, roundups, and forced confessions. Miller captures the evil of paranoia and fear in his play
through emotions by letting them shine through his characters to make the audience feel the tension,
the angst and the desperation throughout the play.
Arthur Miller includes a large number of logical fallacies such as scare tactic and slippery slope in
order to emphasize the evil or paranoia and fear in his play through emotions of the characters. Miller
exemplifies scare tactic when Abigail says ... I saw Indians smash my dear parents head upon the
pillow next to mine, and I have seen reddish work done at night, and I can make you wish you had
never seen the sun go down!

Medical Professionals Should Always Value A Patient s...
Medical professionals should always value a patient s ethical right to privacy and confidentiality.
Under the HIPPA law, there are still concerns with the protection of patient privacy; therefore,
healthcare professionals must confront the growing technological environment and find ways to
increase access security, as well as discipline employees that violate a patient s privacy. Electronic
health records can be beneficial to providers from a cost and efficiency standpoint, but are patients
really better off with a paperless system?5
Privacy relates to people; confidentiality relates to data. A patient has a right to privacy and
confidentiality concerning their mental and physical medical records. The term privacy has been
defined as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Healthcare providers are able to communicate easier via electronic medical records and under the
HIPPA law it is illegal to release patient information to other non healthcare professional parties.
HIPPA states, covered entities are required to protect the confidentiality or integrity of medical
information stored in electric records.5
Confidentiality extends past privacy and protects identifiable data. So, what is considered confidential
patient information? Confidential patient information consists of Protected Health Information (PHI).
The PHI contains the patient s demographic information, social security number, diagnoses codes,
medical record number, name of doctors, conversations between healthcare providers, billing
information, images of the patient, and medications. Confidential information is seen electronically in
a patient s medical record everyday and sometimes employees forget how important it is to keep a
patient s information confidential. Mental and physical conditions, treatment plans and daily notes are
documented in electronic medical records.
The healthcare industry benefits from Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Electronic software is used
to store and transfer patient health records. The advances in technology allow healthcare professionals
to access and share patient medical history. Such a system may decrease health care costs, increase the
quality of patient care, facilitate better departmental communication, create less paper confusion,

Aerobic Respiration And Aerobic Respiration
Aerobic respiration, also known as cellular respiration, is an essential process for the production of
ATP and occurs in 3 metabolic stages. The stages included are glycolysis, the Kreb s cycle, and
oxidative phosphorylation. Throughout the whole process, glucose or various other saccharides are
broken down, producing CO2, ATP, NADH, Pyruvate, and FADH2. Aerobic respiration and anaerobic
respiration are very similar, the only difference is the final electron acceptor, as Aerobic respiration
involves oxygen. In order to study and detect how much cellular respiration occurs in an organism, the
amount of glucose used, the amount of oxygen consumed, or the amount of CO2 given off can be
measured. Bread, wine, and beer are all made from yeast. Yeast must go through cellular respiration
and produce CO2 in order for the bread to rise and form properly; however, different monosaccharides
may affect the level of CO2, measured in mL, given off by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (found in yeast),
while affecting yeast s ability to metabolize during glycolysis. Durham tubes (a sealed, cut off 5 mL,
pipette) can be used to measure the amount of CO2 produced as the yeast metabolizes.
The approached used was to test the level of CO2 (mL) production, after different solutions with 1.5
mL of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 4.5 mL and either 1M of glucose, fructose, or galactose go
through cellular respiration. The higher level of CO2 produced indicates the more cellular respiration
that took place. A

The Effect Of Oxygen On The Heart Rate
The results obtained for this experiment were somewhat expected as the results had reflected to the
theory. While the composition of oxygen in air remains constant only the atmospheric pressure to
decrease with altitude. The respiration pattern should have shown a more frequent incidence of trough
and crest, but the amplitude decreased with the increasing elevation, as the oxygen molecules
contained in each breathe are low. Since less oxygen are presented the oxygen and carbon dioxide
should decrease with increasing altitude. Equally since more breathe are taken to allow the body to be
oxygenated, the heart would need to work faster and to allow such occurrence. These ideas correlates
to the results obtained, as with increasing elevation the heart rate increased from 88 beat/min to 104
beat/min at rest and the 19.8% to 18.0%, 147711.6ppm to 130739.6ppm, oxygen and carbon dioxide
respectively, when condition had remained the same (pre exercise). As one exercised, regardless of the
altitude, component such as heart rate carbon dioxide should have increased and that oxygen and
breathing pattern to decrease. This is because the heart will need to pump more blood and use more
oxygen thus increasing the production of carbon dioxide. Additionally the body would act to the
oxygen deficiency, hence resulting in a decrease in breathing pressure. These ideas can be correlate to
the results as on table, as an exercise was performed the heart rate had increased to 109 beats/min, the

The topic most touched on in this movie is on self concept. From the beginning of the movie, it shows

strategies, symbolism is one that recurs frequently the throughout the entire book. Foster s use of

Cleansing rain can symbolize a change in someone. This change can be symbolized as a mental
awakening or change in a characteristic, big or small. Changes can include the way someone sees
themself or society. Liekt the lady in Song of Solomon , her cleansing rain washed away her false
ideal of beauty and left behind what beauty truly was. Cleansing rain can also symbolize becoming
stained , or having a negative change in a characteristic. This is through cleansing rain making a
puddle of mud created from this rain. Fog is also an event in weather that is symbolized. Fog
symbolizes confusion or a clouded mind. Characters may say that they have a foggy memory, meaning
they don t remember something that previously happened. Fog can also confusion. This is seen
through Scooby Doo, since a lot of the mysterious places that their gang visits re clouded by fog,
symbolizing the mysteriousness in where their location. Floods and rain aren t the only thing that is

In the early 1800s life in Ireland wasn t easy, Irish citizens got by day to day by farming and relying
on the potato. The potato was their main source of food and money. With out the potato the Irish
would have nothing. No one was prepared for what was about to happen in 1845, the beginning of the
Great Irish Potato Famine.
The Irish Potato Famine was the worst tragedy in the history of Ireland. The outcome of the famine
would result in hundreds of thousands dead, an failure of the economy in Ireland, and millions of
emigrants forced to leave their home and country just to try to survive. The famine would effect
countries other than Ireland as well. Some of these countries included England, America, ... Show

In 1845 a crop disease known as blight would be introduced to Ireland. It was a disease that would
cause potatoes to rot while they grew. It was from guano, which was part of a fertilizer that was
imported from South America. The contaminated fertilizer was also distributed to other countries in
Europe such as France, Germany, The Netherlands, and England. It was responsible for thousands of
deaths in these countries but was soon eliminated, as these countries were not as dependent on the
potato as the Irish were.
The Irish discovered the problem when they found that they were harvesting black potatoes. At first
they blamed the problem on poor weather, or insects. They just figured that it was another poor
farming season. The actual spreading of the disease was that its pores were carried in the wind and
land in pits where potatoes were to be planted. The disease would not die in the extreme winter cold
and would double the problem for the next spring s crop.
The first year, the Irish only saw it as another crop failure because it only effected a third of the
harvest. It was later that season that they realized that they were about to face a famine. The Irish
government would not give out aid to farmers because they felt that it would make the country look
bad showing other people that the citizens could not care for themselves. The

Analysis Of Cather s A Pair Of Silk Stockings
Cather and Chopin on Feminism Women have been taught that, for us, the earth is flat, and that if we
venture out, we will fall off the edge. ~Andrea Dworkin. This quote shows how society has put this
idea into the heads of women in every new generation that a women has to play the certain household
role while men go out and work. It portrays that women can t venture past the expectations that an
earlier society put on women s shoulders. Throughout time, women have played the role of the quiet
house wife. Society enforces the expectations that women should follow society s demands over their
own desires. In Chopin s story A Pair of Silk Stockings the main character, Mrs. Sommers, wished to
escape the typical role of a busy housewife and wanted to live independently in the life of luxury.
These writings are relevant today since feminism hasn t prospered to the point that both men and
women are treated as equals. Some may say that men and women are now treated the same since both
are capable of the same duties; however, men can do the same duties but most chose not to due to
early women s roles. The fact that men and society form women into housewife roles even if they
have jobs is proven in the article, More Women are in the Workforce So Why are They Still Doing So

language in the classroom. So he struggles with many subjects, specifically language and math.
Mathematics uses specialized language such as conditionals, negatives, and symbols that create
barriers for students who are deaf or hard of hearing (Livingston, 1997). As could be expected,
students who struggle with understanding basic communications with adults and peers will especially
struggle with academic language that they are faced with in schooling situations. This lack of
understanding of language leads to Jason becoming frustrated with his work and easily distracted.
There are many services that students are entitled to when they are classified with deafness or having a
hearing impairment that they can receive due to the NCLB and the IDEA. The No Child Left Behind
Act, or NCLB, came into the national education scene in 2002. The act was created to raise the
academic achievements for all students across the board, regardless of disabilities or other factors
(Turnbull et al., 2015). This basically means that although the student may have hearing impairments,
they are still held to the same academic standards and benchmarks as their peers who do not have
impairments. The Individual with Disabilities Education Act, often referred to as IDEA, allows a

Good Shepherd Meaning
The name of the film The Good Shepherd is taken from the Bible. According to the Bible Jesus says
the good shepherd is the one that leaves ninety nine sheep s, goes to find one lost sheep and brings her
home. Therefore, he means that there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety nine righteous persons who do not need to repent . It can be argued that it is metaphor
for what Edward does in his life, because what he does is full of sin such as detention, killing, secrets,
mistrust, but he sacrifices his life for his country and does more to his country than millions of people
who don t go through half of things that Edward had to go. In this case Edward can be symbolizing
Good Shepherd. It can also be argued that sex has specific significance and meaning in this film. First
time Edward had to have sex Laura, who was student at YALE University and who he loved
throughout whole movie, despite the fact that he was married to other women; however, at the last
minute Laura ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Patience In Romeo And Juliet
A wise man does not try to hurry history. Many wars have been avoided by patience and many have
been precipitated by reckless haste says Adlai Stevenson, a former UN Ambassador who had to work
with people from many different backgrounds and get them to agree on sensitive topics. These
enlightened words from Stevenson can easily relate to the love story of Romeo and Juliet, a story that
tells the tale of two young teenagers who become lovestruck over one another the minute they lay
their eyes upon one another. The young couple desperately wants to get married, but their feuding
families, the Capulets and the Montagues, are in their way. Romeo and Juliet tragically decided to
make extreme decisions in order to have a chance to be together ... Show more content on

Either thou or I or both must go with him! (3.1.133 134). The play makes clear that the death of
Romeo s best friend pushed him into letting haste control his actions, which led him to kill Tybalt. It
illustrates how anytime a decision is made in a hasty manner, it will lead to worse outcome. In my
past, I was in a friendship were I was enraged about some of the things that one of my friends was
saying to me and my friends. I became impatient and didn t want to try to work things out, which led
me to ending the friendship. If I would have had more patience and tried to manage the problem, it
may have prevented the awkwardness that still exists between us to this day and could have allowed
the friendship to stay. Another example from the story that illustrated haste is the passage, Thursday is
near. Lay hand on heart. Advise. If you be mine, I ll give you to my friend. If you be not, hang! Beg!
Starve! Die in the streets! (3.5.203 204). Shakespeare continues to present how the characters like
Lord and Lady Capulet reacted with more rashness and how their rashness continued to negatively
impact the outcome. Juliet s parents thought it would be best for her well being to marry her off since
she was upset about the death of her cousin Tybalt. They ended up pushing her into a situation she
didn t want to be in without consulting

Wage Discrimination Among Actors And Actresses
Since before women earned the right to vote, there has always been a demand for men and women to
work as an actor in the film industry. Their ability to captivate, move, and inspire earned them
recognition as movie stars. This rich history of stars, ranging from Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton
to Mary Pickford and Julia Roberts has seemingly been gender neutral. However, the question of wage
discrimination among actors and actresses is often not a point of discussion. Perhaps this is because
the public knows how well movie starts are paid, which begets the question, are actors and actress
rewarded differently?
When skimming the literate, the first point of interest is Forbes Magazine s list of the top paid actors
and actresses of that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, there seems to be a huge discrepancy between how actors and actresses fair at the box
office. This is reinforced when looking at the average box office figures. Ten actors have averaged
figures over $100 million while only two actresses managed to reach that milestone. If an actors and
actresses are paid based upon their box office power, it would seem that actors are better at selling
movie tickets relative to actresses. However, these figures might be a result of the types of roles
offered to men and women.
In order to examine gender discriminatory pay practices in Hollywood, there needs to be a comparison
between men and women performing the same exact job. In cinema, it could be the case that actors
and actresses are simply not working in exactly the same industry. Since they are not playing the same
character, and the fact that film offers different genres by which actors and actresses are defined
within, the pay difference may be due to the variation between roles. An action star generally gets paid
more relative to a melodramatic role, and throughout the history of Hollywood, men usually occupy
the role of big action star. Men like John Wayne, Tom Cruise, Cary Grant, Humphry Bogart, James
Cagney, and Arnold Schwarzenegger receive salary benefits because they are generational icons,
starring in big budget, high grossing films. There are certainly examples of female action stars, like

Civil War Advantages
The North vs. The South During The Civil War There were many differences between the North and
the South during the Civil War. Most differences were a result of advantages and disadvantages
between the two sides. The Unions advantages at the time included a higher population count, more
factories, faster food production, faster transportation by railroads, and overall, a better economy.
Although minimal, the Confederacy also held specific advantages. Southern advantages included a
first rate military leader, as well as other experienced military leadership, and highly motivated
soldiers (civilwar.org, n.d.). These were both great advantages to have during the civil war, and even
led to a few defeats over the experienced and prepared Union. The South consisted of eleven total
states which succeeded from the Union in order to preserve their beliefs on slavery, states rights, and
political liberties. After succeeding, they formed the Confederate army and prepared to fight against
the Union. The North, on the other hand, consisted of twenty three states which ultimately fought to
preserve the Union and protest slavery, hopefully leading to an end of slavery altogether. Despite the
strategies each side held, the pre war characteristics determined specifics about how each would fight.
These characteristics also provided potential reasoning as to why the fighting between the North and
South began (civilwar.org, n.d.). As stated above, the North had a greater economy than the

The Benefits of Cloning Essay
The Advantages of Cloning
The first successfully cloned mammal was created on February of 1997. It was a breakthrough in
scientific research when the Scottish scientists cloned a sheep by the name of Dolly. The method of
cloning requires the extraction of DNA from anywhere on a subject s body and inserting that DNA
into a woman s egg. Worldwide attention was turned to the prospect of human cloning and with a push
for sweeping prohibition (Tribe 459) legislatures around the world banned any research related to
cloning because of its nature. To get rid of cloning research would be very harmful and detrimental to
society. If cloning humans is allowed then it will benefit us all because of the medical advances and

A cloned person is just like a twin, only years apart. A cloned person has its own personality because it
is the environment and experiences that make the person. Any beliefs that clones are mindless human
beings are wrong. Many assume the worst that the worst could happen. People always assume the
worst, recall The Boys From Brazil, a story of identical offspring of Adolf Hitler being raised in order
to further his horrible work (Wilson 463). The prevailing belief that people will start cloning a master
race or clone Hitler is unrealistic. The cloning of humans will not depreciate humanity. Instead it will
be a bonus to mankind. Even if Hitler were to be cloned, it wouldn t mean that the clone would be like
or even succeed in continuing the original Hitler s plan.
Another concern and the strongest of the arguments that many have is that it goes against Gods will
(Wilson 463). Since reproduction through copulation is the norm everything that goes against that is
wrong, many assert. There was similar criticism of the aforementioned birth control pills and organ
transplant surgery but they have
gradually gained acceptance. When revolutionary advances occur there are always those who oppose
it because it disrupts the normality of things.
Another primary argument is the fact that as of now the cloning technology is too risky. Dolly was the
only lamb to emerge out of 277 attempts, and we still do not know how long she

Soil Gives Nutrition to Earth s Plants
Soil is the loose material on the Earth s surface that is made up of organic and mineral matter where
plants grow. Soil is the major source of nutrients needed for plants for growth. The three main
nutrients are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). (NSW Government, 2004) Soil contains
nutrients and water needed for the plant, and also contains living organisms which helps to decompose
organic matter and help with producing nutrients for the plant to intake. Nitrogen is the most abundant
element found in our atmosphere and it is also the most important for a plant s growth and one of the
elements that a plant intakes in large amounts. It is one of the basic components of chlorophyll, the
compound by which plants use sunlight energy to produce sugars during the process of
photosynthesis. (House Garden, n.d.) Nitrogen can enter the soil in many ways such as rainfall, which
may deposit some atmosphere nitrogen into the soil or some organisms such as, bacteria,
actinomycetes and cyanobacteria are known to convert atmospheric nitrogen into ammonium so that
plants can absorb easily. High rates of photosynthesis will occur when a plant receives sufficient
amounts of nitrogen (N). (CTAHR, n.d)
Phosphorus is also an important element for plants, which can be found in the soil. Phosphorus plays
an important role in energy transfer, photosynthesis, and transfer of genetic material, transformation of
sugars and starches and nutrient movement within a plant.

Abstract: Cloud computing plays an important role in supporting data storage, processing, and
management in the Internet of Things (IoT). To preserve cloud data confidentiality and user privacy,
cloud data are often stored in an encrypted form. However, duplicated data that are encrypted under
different encryption schemes could be stored in the cloud, which greatly decreases the utilization rate
of storage resources, especially for big data. Several data deduplication schemes have recently been
proposed. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the same or different users could save duplicated data under different encryption schemes at
the cloud. Existing solutions for deduplication are vulnerable to brute force attacks2 and can t flexibly
support data access control and revocation. Existing industrial solutions fail in encrypted data
deduplication. Deduplication technology has become quite the staple in many data storage
environments. But what makes it a good fit in one data center, may not be the case in another.
1.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM:
We proposes a scheme based on attribute based encryption (ABE) to deduplicate encrypted data stored
in the cloud while at the same time supporting secure data access control. proposes to outsource only
encrypted data to CSPs. However, the same or different users could save duplicated data under
different encryption schemes at the cloud. Although cloud storage space is huge, this kind of
duplication wastes networking resources, consumes excess power, and complicates data management.
intra user deduplication and inter deduplication. In their scheme, the ciphertext C of convergent
encryption is further encrypted with a user key and transferred to the servers. However, it doesn t deal
with data sharing after deduplication among different users.
1.2.1 ADVANTAGES IN PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The scheme can easily realize data access control by introducing control policies into AP when calling

Responsibility In Medea
In his episodic play, Medea, Euripides points out certain responsibilities for mortals to follow. This is
an example of a myth that has a moralistic prospect. The different responsibilities come down to social
and personal. Medea demonstrates both strong social and personal responsibilities. There are
numerous social responsibilities outlined in Medea; however, the first one that jumps out is the
feministic responsibility to allow women to choose how to live their own lives. If a woman does not
want to have children and would be more content with working, then it is a social responsibility to
allow and support that decision. This obligation is outlined when Medea claims that I would rather
stand three times in the line of battle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Euripides makes this relevant when Jason enters the scene in Episode IV and proclaims that I have
come at your bidding. For even though you hate me I shall not fail you, but I will hear (Euripides
865). Jason, while well meaning, contradicts the first responsibility by denying Medea her
independence as a woman or as a person. Medea introduces her strong personality and demonstrates
her personal responsibility to stand up for the bigger social responsibility. Medea feels it is her
personal responsibility to stand up for her right as a woman by scheming against Jason. His blatant
misogyny is grounds for the trickery inspired and carried out by Medea. Medea very cleverly plays the
part of the submissive apologetic woman to earn Jason s trust, but then undermines his gullibility to
make his be the fool. Poking at his ignorance, Medea belabors the point that women are inferior to
men I will not say evil. But you should not copy our faults; don t repay our craziness in kind
(Euripides 889). Medea antagonizes Jason s claims against women. This is not to diminish the value
of Medea s love of her children, but is her way of protecting them. The value of the children to Medea
is unmatched by Jason s correlating ignorance and blind hate. It s Medea s personal responsibility to
not only care for her gender, but to protect her children as a

The Beauty Of Art Essay
People have appreciated numerous forms of art over many decades and continue to analyze what art is
and how the aesthetics of it affect viewers. Audiences have gathered to ooh and ahh at art galleries,
musicals, play and ballet performances, and concerts. In fact people even travel long distances to view
world renowned tourist sites, such as the Sistine Chapel. There are billions of creations and events that
are considered art whether that art is valued by a large audience or the artist alone. Either way, art has
become a tremendously significant method of entertainment in the world today, even if one does not

The beauty of art varies among individuals, but either way, it is a beautiful thing. Art is meant to
portray a multitude of emotions through words or images and those emotions strongly affect most
people. For example, Joseph M. Martin s song entitled The Awakening features a four part harmony
with lyrics that portray a dream (a nightmare rather) where the world lacks music.
Lyrics:
I dreamed a dream, a silent dream, of a land not far away
Where no bird sang, no steeples rang, and teardrops fell like rain.
I dreamed a dream; a silent dream.
I dreamed a dream of a land so filled with pride
That every song, both weak and strong, withered and died.
I dreamed a dream
No hallelujah; not one hosanna!
No song of love, no lullaby.
And no choir sang to change the world.
No pipers played, no dancers twirled.
I dreamed a dream; a silent dream.
Awake, awake!
Awake, Awake!
Awake my soul and sing, the time for praise has come.
The silence of the night has passed,
A new day has begun!
Let music never die in me;
Forever let my spirit sing!
Wherever emptiness is found let there be joy and glorious sound.
Let music never die in me; forever let my spirit sing!
Let all our voices join as one to praise the giver of the sun!
Awake, awake!
Let music live!

  • 2. Leadership Theory And Philosophy Of Leadership Essay The belief of leadership is constantly changing, with many theories and frameworks available. Today s organizations face ever increasing change, which includes increased patient demands and work needs, which requires a more adaptive flexible leadership that is becoming increasingly important in the 21st century. Leadership theory and philosophy can be divided into several well known styles. Within this paper, we will discuss the basis of autocratic, democratic, laissez faire, servant, charismatic, transformational, and situational styles of leadership within the nursing profession, then conclude the writer s personal philosophies of leadership. To begin, autocratic leadership involves leaders to make decisions without input from their followers (Frandsen, 2014). This style of leadership also incorporates negative reinforcement. Maboko (2011) gathered that nurse managers who embodied an autocratic leadership style yield registered nurses to feel unappreciated, criticized and blamed. On the other hand, a democratic leadership encourages and facilitates open discussions and participation from its followers. Followers are given responsibility, accountability and constructive feedback to improve (Frandsen, 2014). McKeown and Carey (2015) stated the lack of democracy and participation is one of many sources of a decreased morale. The lack of control had a negative connotation on nurses and their relationships with patients. Additionally, this resulted in fragmented care and poor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Effect Of Ph On Enzyme Activity Of Peroxidase Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase Thomas Stinde March 15, 2016 Coconino Community College Effect of pH on Enzyme Activity of Peroxidase For us to understand what the effects pH have on enzyme activity of peroxidase, we must first define what an enzyme is and what is done as well as a peroxidase. According to the Oxford Dictionary of English, an enzyme is, a substance produced by a living organism which acts as a catalyst to bring about a specific biochemical reaction (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Nearly all enzymes are proteins which have large complex molecules whose actions depends on their molecular shape. Some enzymes dictate reactions inside cells and some, such as enzymes which deal with digestion, outside the cell (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). The factors which affect enzyme activity are the environmental conditions. If these conditions are changed, then the enzyme reaction rate is altered. In nature, organisms will make adjustments to their enzyme conditions to create an optimal reaction rate, when needed, or the organisms will contain enzymes which are modified to operate efficiently in extreme environments where they live. Peroxidase is, an enzyme that catalyses the oxidation of a particular substrate by hydrogen peroxide (Oxford Dictionary, 2012). Hydrogen peroxide is a byproduct of cellular respiration; therefore, the peroxidase is located in the cytoplasm of the cell. In our lab, we checked the reaction rate of peroxidase and tried to find the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Democrats have worked to put Obamacare in place in 2009 and want to fix issues using the existing platform. Many Republicans are currently working to repeal and replace Obamacare with Trumpcare. The healthcare debate has come to a standstill in Congress as deep party lines persist. In August 2017, following the fights over the universal healthcare debate, TCA Regional News reported that Democrat Amy McGrath is running for Congress in the state of Kentucky against Republican Andy Barr in 2018 (Yeager). This is another image used to demonstrate the American army s protection and promote patriotism. The value of patriotism is seen throughout military and American flag images in the advertisement. The value of nontraditional gender roles is subtly seen through the auditory and visual illustrations in the advertisement. Amy McGrath explains that in a previous experience of hers, her local Congressman wrote to her that he believed that women should not be allowed to serve in combat as the image of the letter appears on screen with the parts mentioned highlighted. McGrath explains that she persisted and joined the Naval Academy anyway. This appeals to nontraditional gender roles because it persuades the viewers that McGrath is different because she is a woman who broke the mold in a male dominated area. McGrath is also seen with having short hair and wearing a dark bomber jacket, white button up, and loose pants. McGrath is noticeably not wearing much make up and has simple earrings and a wedding band. By wearing non feminine clothes, McGrath appeals to value of nontraditional gender roles. McGrath is shown to walking with her husband and young children down a grassy hill. McGrath is seen in a bright pink shirt and khaki dress pants while holding her husband s hand. Her husband is wearing a blue button up shirt and dark dress pants while holding their toddler. • 10. The Crucible Paranoia Analysis What do you think of when you hear the word mass hysteria? In the Crucible, a play written by Arthur Miller, is both an allegory and tragedy where the Puritan society of Salem is attacked with the hysteria of witchcraft. It all started with five young girls of the Salem society caught dancing naked around a bonfire. This practice is viewed upon by the Puritans as the task of the devil. In the beginning of the play, there was controversy about ownership of land between some of the villagers. Later in the story, people feared for their own safety and begin pointing fingers and accusing their neighbors of witchcraft in order to escape being hanged. This caused the society to get more and more separated as time went on. This emphasizes the idea of how fear and suspicion can destroy a society due to accusations, roundups, and forced confessions. Miller captures the evil of paranoia and fear in his play through emotions by letting them shine through his characters to make the audience feel the tension, the angst and the desperation throughout the play. Arthur Miller includes a large number of logical fallacies such as scare tactic and slippery slope in order to emphasize the evil or paranoia and fear in his play through emotions of the characters. Miller exemplifies scare tactic when Abigail says ... Healthcare providers are able to communicate easier via electronic medical records and under the HIPPA law it is illegal to release patient information to other non healthcare professional parties. HIPPA states, covered entities are required to protect the confidentiality or integrity of medical information stored in electric records.5 Confidentiality extends past privacy and protects identifiable data. So, what is considered confidential patient information? Confidential patient information consists of Protected Health Information (PHI). The PHI contains the patient s demographic information, social security number, diagnoses codes, medical record number, name of doctors, conversations between healthcare providers, billing information, images of the patient, and medications. Confidential information is seen electronically in a patient s medical record everyday and sometimes employees forget how important it is to keep a patient s information confidential. Mental and physical conditions, treatment plans and daily notes are documented in electronic medical records. The healthcare industry benefits from Electronic Medical Records (EMR). The stages included are glycolysis, the Kreb s cycle, and oxidative phosphorylation. Throughout the whole process, glucose or various other saccharides are broken down, producing CO2, ATP, NADH, Pyruvate, and FADH2. Aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration are very similar, the only difference is the final electron acceptor, as Aerobic respiration involves oxygen. In order to study and detect how much cellular respiration occurs in an organism, the amount of glucose used, the amount of oxygen consumed, or the amount of CO2 given off can be measured. Bread, wine, and beer are all made from yeast. Yeast must go through cellular respiration and produce CO2 in order for the bread to rise and form properly; however, different monosaccharides may affect the level of CO2, measured in mL, given off by Saccharomyces cerevisiae (found in yeast), while affecting yeast s ability to metabolize during glycolysis. Durham tubes (a sealed, cut off 5 mL, pipette) can be used to measure the amount of CO2 produced as the yeast metabolizes. The approached used was to test the level of CO2 (mL) production, after different solutions with 1.5 mL of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and 4.5 mL and either 1M of glucose, fructose, or galactose go through cellular respiration. The higher level of CO2 produced indicates the more cellular respiration that took place. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Effect Of Oxygen On The Heart Rate The results obtained for this experiment were somewhat expected as the results had reflected to the theory. While the composition of oxygen in air remains constant only the atmospheric pressure to decrease with altitude. The respiration pattern should have shown a more frequent incidence of trough and crest, but the amplitude decreased with the increasing elevation, as the oxygen molecules contained in each breathe are low. Since less oxygen are presented the oxygen and carbon dioxide should decrease with increasing altitude. Equally since more breathe are taken to allow the body to be oxygenated, the heart would need to work faster and to allow such occurrence. These ideas correlates to the results obtained, as with increasing elevation the heart rate increased from 88 beat/min to 104 beat/min at rest and the 19.8% to 18.0%, 147711.6ppm to 130739.6ppm, oxygen and carbon dioxide respectively, when condition had remained the same (pre exercise). As one exercised, regardless of the altitude, component such as heart rate carbon dioxide should have increased and that oxygen and breathing pattern to decrease. This is because the heart will need to pump more blood and use more oxygen thus increasing the production of carbon dioxide. Additionally the body would act to the oxygen deficiency, hence resulting in a decrease in breathing pressure. These ideas can be correlate to the results as on table, as an exercise was performed the heart rate had increased to 109 beats/min, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was from guano, which was part of a fertilizer that was imported from South America. The contaminated fertilizer was also distributed to other countries in Europe such as France, Germany, The Netherlands, and England. It was responsible for thousands of deaths in these countries but was soon eliminated, as these countries were not as dependent on the potato as the Irish were. The Irish discovered the problem when they found that they were harvesting black potatoes. At first they blamed the problem on poor weather, or insects. They just figured that it was another poor farming season. The actual spreading of the disease was that its pores were carried in the wind and land in pits where potatoes were to be planted. The disease would not die in the extreme winter cold and would double the problem for the next spring s crop. Analysis Of Cather s A Pair Of Silk Stockings Cather and Chopin on Feminism Women have been taught that, for us, the earth is flat, and that if we venture out, we will fall off the edge. ~Andrea Dworkin. This quote shows how society has put this idea into the heads of women in every new generation that a women has to play the certain household role while men go out and work. It portrays that women can t venture past the expectations that an earlier society put on women s shoulders. Throughout time, women have played the role of the quiet house wife. Society enforces the expectations that women should follow society s demands over their own desires. In Chopin s story A Pair of Silk Stockings the main character, Mrs. Sommers, wished to escape the typical role of a busy housewife and wanted to live independently in the life of luxury. These writings are relevant today since feminism hasn t prospered to the point that both men and women are treated as equals. Some may say that men and women are now treated the same since both are capable of the same duties; however, men can do the same duties but most chose not to due to early women s roles. Many wars have been avoided by patience and many have been precipitated by reckless haste says Adlai Stevenson, a former UN Ambassador who had to work with people from many different backgrounds and get them to agree on sensitive topics. These enlightened words from Stevenson can easily relate to the love story of Romeo and Juliet, a story that tells the tale of two young teenagers who become lovestruck over one another the minute they lay their eyes upon one another. In my past, I was in a friendship were I was enraged about some of the things that one of my friends was saying to me and my friends. I became impatient and didn t want to try to work things out, which led me to ending the friendship. If I would have had more patience and tried to manage the problem, it may have prevented the awkwardness that still exists between us to this day and could have allowed the friendship to stay. • 28. Civil War Advantages The North vs. The South During The Civil War There were many differences between the North and the South during the Civil War. Most differences were a result of advantages and disadvantages between the two sides. The Unions advantages at the time included a higher population count, more factories, faster food production, faster transportation by railroads, and overall, a better economy. Although minimal, the Confederacy also held specific advantages. Southern advantages included a first rate military leader, as well as other experienced military leadership, and highly motivated soldiers (civilwar.org, n.d.). These were both great advantages to have during the civil war, and even led to a few defeats over the experienced and prepared Union. The South consisted of eleven total states which succeeded from the Union in order to preserve their beliefs on slavery, states rights, and political liberties. After succeeding, they formed the Confederate army and prepared to fight against the Union. The North, on the other hand, consisted of twenty three states which ultimately fought to preserve the Union and protest slavery, hopefully leading to an end of slavery altogether. Despite the strategies each side held, the pre war characteristics determined specifics about how each would fight. These characteristics also provided potential reasoning as to why the fighting between the North and South began (civilwar.org, n.d.). As stated above, the North had a greater economy than the ... (NSW Government, 2004) Soil contains nutrients and water needed for the plant, and also contains living organisms which helps to decompose organic matter and help with producing nutrients for the plant to intake. Nitrogen is the most abundant element found in our atmosphere and it is also the most important for a plant s growth and one of the elements that a plant intakes in large amounts. It is one of the basic components of chlorophyll, the compound by which plants use sunlight energy to produce sugars during the process of photosynthesis. (House Garden, n.d.) Nitrogen can enter the soil in many ways such as rainfall, which may deposit some atmosphere nitrogen into the soil or some organisms such as, bacteria, actinomycetes and cyanobacteria are known to convert atmospheric nitrogen into ammonium so that plants can absorb easily. High rates of photosynthesis will occur when a plant receives sufficient amounts of nitrogen (N). (CTAHR, n.d) Phosphorus is also an important element for plants, which can be found in the soil. Phosphorus plays an important role in energy transfer, photosynthesis, and transfer of genetic material, transformation of sugars and starches and nutrient movement within a plant. ... Sudheer.K 1 1 vit university, site school, mca department, vellore , Tamil nadu , india 632014 Abstract: Cloud computing plays an important role in supporting data storage, processing, and management in the Internet of Things (IoT). To preserve cloud data confidentiality and user privacy, cloud data are often stored in an encrypted form. However, duplicated data that are encrypted under different encryption schemes could be stored in the cloud, which greatly decreases the utilization rate of storage resources, especially for big data. Several data deduplication schemes have recently been proposed. However, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the same or different users could save duplicated data under different encryption schemes at the cloud. Existing solutions for deduplication are vulnerable to brute force attacks2 and can t flexibly support data access control and revocation. Existing industrial solutions fail in encrypted data deduplication. Deduplication technology has become quite the staple in many data storage environments. But what makes it a good fit in one data center, may not be the case in another. 1.2 PROPOSED SYSTEM: We proposes a scheme based on attribute based encryption (ABE) to deduplicate encrypted data stored in the cloud while at the same time supporting secure data access control. proposes to outsource only encrypted data to CSPs. However, the same or different users could save duplicated data under different encryption schemes at the cloud. Although cloud storage space is huge, this kind of duplication wastes networking resources, consumes excess power, and complicates data management. intra user deduplication and inter deduplication. In their scheme, the ciphertext C of convergent encryption is further encrypted with a user key and transferred to the servers. However, it doesn t deal with data sharing after deduplication among different users. 1.2.1 ADVANTAGES IN PROPOSED SYSTEM: The scheme can easily realize data access control by introducing control policies into AP when calling EncryptKey(DEKu, AP, PKIDu) by updating AP to support ... • 36. Responsibility In Medea In his episodic play, Medea, Euripides points out certain responsibilities for mortals to follow. This is an example of a myth that has a moralistic prospect. The different responsibilities come down to social and personal. Medea demonstrates both strong social and personal responsibilities. There are numerous social responsibilities outlined in Medea; however, the first one that jumps out is the feministic responsibility to allow women to choose how to live their own lives. If a woman does not want to have children and would be more content with working, then it is a social responsibility to allow and support that decision. This obligation is outlined when Medea claims that I would rather stand three times in the line of battle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Euripides makes this relevant when Jason enters the scene in Episode IV and proclaims that I have come at your bidding. For even though you hate me I shall not fail you, but I will hear (Euripides 865). Jason, while well meaning, contradicts the first responsibility by denying Medea her independence as a woman or as a person. Medea introduces her strong personality and demonstrates her personal responsibility to stand up for the bigger social responsibility. Medea feels it is her personal responsibility to stand up for her right as a woman by scheming against Jason. His blatant misogyny is grounds for the trickery inspired and carried out by Medea. Medea very cleverly plays the part of the submissive apologetic woman to earn Jason s trust, but then undermines his gullibility to make his be the fool. Poking at his ignorance, Medea belabors the point that women are inferior to men I will not say evil. But you should not copy our faults; don t repay our craziness in kind (Euripides 889). Medea antagonizes Jason s claims against women. This is not to diminish the value of Medea s love of her children, but is her way of protecting them. The value of the children to Medea is unmatched by Jason s correlating ignorance and blind hate. It s Medea s personal responsibility to not only care for her gender, but to protect her children as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The beauty of art varies among individuals, but either way, it is a beautiful thing. Art is meant to portray a multitude of emotions through words or images and those emotions strongly affect most people. For example, Joseph M. Martin s song entitled The Awakening features a four part harmony with lyrics that portray a dream (a nightmare rather) where the world lacks music. Lyrics: I dreamed a dream, a silent dream, of a land not far away Where no bird sang, no steeples rang, and teardrops fell like rain. I dreamed a dream; a silent dream. I dreamed a dream of a land so filled with pride That every song, both weak and strong, withered and died. I dreamed a dream No hallelujah; not one hosanna! No song of love, no lullaby. And no choir sang to change the world. No pipers played, no dancers twirled. I dreamed a dream; a silent dream. Awake, awake! Awake, Awake! Awake my soul and sing, the time for praise has come. The silence of the night has passed, A new day has begun! Let music never die in me; Forever let my spirit sing!
