Larsen and Toubro (L&T) is one of the largest engineering and construction companies in India, founded in 1938. Kundan Giri completed a summer internship with L&T's ECC Division in 2012. The internship involved working on a project to erect 13 transformers weighing 209 metric tons each at a power grid in Delhi. The project faced challenges including a tight schedule, space constraints, and mobilizing the large transformers. The construction methodology involved mobilizing transformer parts to the site, assembling them, lifting them into place with hydraulic jacks, connecting lines, and testing them.
