Addictive Disorders
• The Substance related disorders encompass 10 separate classes of drugs:
1. alcohol;
2. caffeine; It is the world's most widely consumed psychoactive drug
3. Cannabis गााँजा (फू ल), भाांग (पत्तियााँ एवां बीज);
4. hallucinogens (जैसे धतूरा)
5. inhalants; (such as nail polish remover)
6. opioids; (used in pain relief and anesthesia) (अफ़ीम)
7. sedatives, (depressants)
8. Hypnotics (sleeping pills) and anxiolytics; (anti anxiety drugs)
9. stimulants (cocaine and other stimulants);
10. tobacco; and other (or unknown) substances.

5. Caffeine Intoxication
A. Recent consumption of caffeine (typically a high dose well in excess of 250 mg)
• Five (or more) of the following signs or symptoms developing during, or shortly after caffeine use:
• 1. Restlessness.
• 2. Nervousness.
• 3. Excitement.
• 4. Insomnia.
• 5. Flushed face. (Redness: Flushed skin is a common physical response to anxiety, stress, embarrassment,
anger, or another extreme emotional state.)
• 6. Diuresis. (increased or excessive production of urine.)
• 7. Gastrointestinal disturbance.
• 8. Muscle twitching. (हहलना)
• 9. Rambling flow of thought and speech. (confused)
• 10. Tachycardia or cardiac arrhythmia. (Heart problems)
• 11. Periods of inexhaustibility. (Untiring)
• 12. Psychomotor agitation.
• C. The signs or symptoms in Criterion B cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social,
occupational, or other important areas of functioning.
• D. The signs or symptoms are not attributable to another medical condition and are not better explained
by another mental disorder, including intoxication with another substance.

6. Caffeine-Related Disorders

10. Inhalant Use Disorder
• When possible, the particular substance involved
should be named (e.g., "toluene use disorder").
Toluene is a colorless aromatic solvent generally
used in paint, thinners etc.
• When the acetone in nail polish remover is inhaled
in high doses, it can depress the nervous system.
This will cause certain functions to slow down
significantly, including breathing, metabolism, and
heartbeat.
