Signification occurs wherever there is a meaningful event or in the practice of some meaningful action. Structuralism first comes to prominence as a specific discourse with the work of a Swiss linguist, Ferdinand de Saussure, who developed a branch of linguistics called "Structural Linguistics." Saussure died before he was able to publish his material but his material came to us by his students. The theory was still at a developmental stage then--and has remained in a developmental stage ever after.

It originated in the 19th century and grew popular in the 20th century. Ferdinand de Saussure is considered the father of modern structuralism. to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and

Structuralism in linguistics
- 3. What Is Structuralism ? It’s Essence : The belief that things cannot be understood in isolation ,they have to be seen in the context of larger structures they are part of. In general linguistics, the analysis focuses not on the use of language (called "parole", or speech), but rather on the underlying system of language (called "langue").
- 4. History Linguists tried to reconstruct the dead languages on the basis of similarities that were found to exist between languages thought to be related historically to those dead languages . In short during the 19th century scholars in linguistics worked from a historical or diachronic perspective .
- 5. Saussure De Sassure was not satisfied with the historical comparison of language. He stated that such comparison only answered the question that where a language comes from but not what a language is .
- 6. Ferdinand De Sassure The idea of language as system of signs is usually associated with Ferdinand de Saussure, a Swiss linguist who lived in the latter part of the 19th century . Ferdinand de Saussure is usually referred to as “The Father of Modern Linguistics”.
