Strategic plan for planning

Editor's Notes

  • #2 Strategic planning is a systematic process of envisioning a desired future and translating this vision into broadly defined goals or objectives and a sequence of steps to achieve them. Strategic planning is the systematic process of imagining a desired future and converting that vision into a set of broad goals or objectives, as well as a set of procedures to attain those goals.
  • #13 Ernesto A. Franco explain it according to time-horizon and purpose.
  • #14 Project is an investment activity in which financial resources are expended to create capital assets that produce benefits over an extended period of time. That's why projects are often referred to as the cutting edge of development. ... Hence, project acts as a "time slice".
  • #20 8. Definition of criteria for selection or for making priorities b. Use of evaluation tools and techniques c. The iterative process of comparing organizational capabilities and resources against desired objectives and the university mission and priorities
  • #21 11. OPERACY-The ability to make things happen EFFICACY-Concern for employee morale for esprit de corps, for proper motivation
  • #22 The plan for planning is very useful in educational management. Ernesto A. Franco et. al. categorizes the useful structural framework into 1, 5 or 20-year planning. The authors further explain it according to time-horizon and purpose. There is the Long-term or Perspective Plan of 10 to 20 years or even 25 years; Medium-term plan of 4 to 7 years; and the Short-term plans of 1 to 3 years are also possible. But the Single-purpose Planning is an administrative operation, like the piloting of the K to 12 Program in Luzon. Another approach to educational planning is Systems Approach that Franco emphasizes. According to him, Systems thinking will view the university, college, or school as a complete organism, which will have to survive, stabilize and grow or die. This institution really needs the tuition fee in the private university and PTA or school fee in the public schools. It requires the use of interdisciplinary tools-not just budgeting or engineering designs, but also curricula-planning, teacher and staff development, environmental and market analysis, library and laboratory development, etc.
  • #23 Long term perspective plan10-25 years Medium plan-4-7 years Short term plan-1-3 years Single term/purpose-few days -2 years
  • #24 Long term perspective plan10-25 years Medium plan-4-7 years Short term plan-1-3 years Single term/purpose-few days -2 years
  • #25 School (discipline), a group of people with shared styles, approaches or aims, e.g. a school of painting, or a school of thought. Ideology refers to a set of beliefs, doctrines that back a certain social institution or a particular organization. Philosophy refers to looking at life in a pragmatic manner and attempting to understand why life is as it is and the principles governing behind it. The main point of setting goals is to help students take realistic steps to achieve them. Many educators find that using the SMART format—goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and timely—is practical and reasonable, and keeps students on track. A program of study consists of courses required to complete a specific degree, inclusive of required coursework within the major, concentration, minor and catalog. The specific courses for a student are identified through a degree evaluation tool available to you through the student portal. A distinctive competence is one of the characteristics that sets your business apart from the competition. Distinctive competencies can occur in a range of different areas, including marketing, personnel, customer relations, technology, manufacturing, and so on. Geographical coverage describes the locations or the geographic area which is related to the measured economic phenomenon, or the area that is covered by a survey, etc. Gender is used to describe the characteristics of women and men that are socially constructed, while sex refers to those that are biologically determined. People are born female or male, but learn to be girls and boys who grow into women and men.
