It includes discussing career goals with the WW, refining their resume, researching career requirements, exploring online assistance tools, connecting the WW to recruiters and employers seeking to hire wounded warriors, and setting up informal interviews between employers and the WW.

This checklist will step you through the process of helping your wounded warrior (WW) find a job.
Discuss with your WW their goals, interests, plans, etc. for a future career
Use the Career Planning Checklist as a guide
Use the O*NET Interest Profiler (http://www.mynextmove.org/explore/ip) to find out what their
interests are and see what careers to explore
Review and refine your WW’s resume
Use the Resume Profile worksheet to help build/improve their resume
Use the Sample Resumes on the Corporate Gray website at www.corporategray.com

Help your WW research their targeted career, and determine what education/additional training it will require
Use the My Next Move for Veterans website (www.mynextmove.org/vets) to search careers, browse
industries, and find similar careers to their military job (if desired)
Use Linkedin (www.linkedin.com) to search on keywords in the career field to find profiles of those in
similar jobs – find what education and training/skills they possess.
Use the Jobs Information Handout to contact government employees who work as full-time support for WW
seeking jobs
