The river Sid experienced very rough weather and high waters on March 15, 2008 due to storms. The water level rose to three times higher than normal, flooding the surrounding banks that were half a foot deep. It took over a week for the river to recover from the three serious storms that pushed water levels almost to bursting. While the river did not overflow its banks, the storms left lots of debris in the muddy, murky water that obscured visibility of the river bottom.

Dr. Trevor Dickinson, Professor Emeritus University of Guelph presented his work with Ramesh Rudra and Kishor Panjabi, Water Resources Engineering, University of Guelph to the Southern Ontario Stormwater Discussion Group at its September 27, 2018 meeting in Brantford, Ontario. The presentation shows the effects of climate on streamflows in southern Ontario including lower spring flow volumes and rates, and the effects of urbanization on streamflows including higher spring and summer flows. The distribution of flooding events through the years is reviewed, showing fewer spring and more summer period flood events. Climate change appears to increase winter runoff volumes due to higher temperatures which reduce spring volumes and peaks, a decrease in flood risk.

The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. 3. The weather on the 15 th of march was very Rough. The water was up to the bridge, which is 3 times higher than normal, consequently it water logged all the banks around it which where half a foot deep. It took approximately 1 week and a few of days to recover because it had about three storms which where quite serious and went right up the bank, up to bursting point. Thankfully the river didn’t burst its banks, but instead went down to its normal size. HOW DID THE WEATHER EFFECT THE RIVER?
4. After the storms After the water had gone down to its original size there were lots of sticks and debris left in the river from the storm on the 15 th March ’08.This meant that the water was very murky and muddy, so you couldn’t see the bottom of the river. Some of the debris had been put in deliberately by people who couldn’t be bothered to put their rubbish in the bin.
