We’re in the Second Machine Age, demand for software is rocketing. Large enterprises and governments are adopting cloud, open source, SaaS platforms and bespoke agile apps. They’re trying to re-engineer processes, transform service quality and costs. There has never been a better time to grow a software business and sell to large organisations.
Companies in all industries want a ‘digital transformation’ but also have to overcome the internal barriers within their own organisations to change. Stephen, draws on his experiences working with the UK’s Government Digital Service to share lessons learnt in attempting to transform one of the largest, most IT intensive behemoths into an organisation that is, ‘Digital by Default’ How can you profit from this shift?

David will share a few of the things he did, the mistakes that he made, as founder of Aframe that almost killed his company. From customer and product development mistakes, to discussions with the wrong investors, Aframe’s journey has been event filled and has made some almost fatal mistakes.
Almost, but not quite. Every entrepreneur needs a little bit of luck here and there, the real trick is to make sure that when you get some, you can capitalise on it.

Measuring Performance in a Future Media WorldOrigami Logic
As brands expand their use of digital media and adtech to engage and build relationships with consumers, the ability to translate performance data into meaningful insights about what’s working and what’s not has become an essential part of marketing success. According to a new report published by Brand Innovators and Origami Logic, however, only 3 out of 10 marketers currently excel in their efforts to extract insights from their marketing performance data. We’ll dive into the survey findings and explore why 80% of marketers are putting more focus on measuring performance in 2017. You’ll walk away with practical tips about how your organization can improve its measurement effectiveness.
The Data-To-Business bridge model for business development organizationsMathieu Rioult
This is a methodology to extract, justify, apply and track actionable insights from a structured dataset and a cross-departments exchange. Please find its summarized mechanism below.
A simple “coordination & action” concept based on four pillars, their related key actions and two strong principles that feed your organization everyday: Growing Cells & “comestible” Fuel. Human Beings interacting and learning collaboratively & Structured data understandable and exploitable by them.
Thanks to both and the D2B bridge, your organization will be able to identify and implement actionable insights that will positively impact your overall business growth and organizational processes. Moreover, your organization will build by itself a learning machine that each individual will beneficiate from. Actions run by someone’s God Feeling appear now as obsolete. For sure, Alone, we go faster. But together, we go farer.
Research Presentation: How Numbers are Powering the Next Era of MarketingMediaPost
The data that Google, Bing and Yahoo leverage turns “dumb” messages into highly targeted digital advertising. These are some of the best examples we have had of actually leveraging "big data" concepts in the marketplace. Now, the rest of marketing is utilizing the same concepts and transforming how we measure brands, engage with consumers and drive innovation. Paul Barrett of Accenture Interactive will report on the fusion of data-driven marketing with the rich streams of data arising from private, public and paid sources to predict the changes that marketers should expect in the coming years.

Joe discusses why managing an effective external board for your organisation starts with understanding and managing your own internal board.
Your mind has a number of relatively discrete and often conflicting subpersonalities affecting how you come to decisions. The strongest personalities change in the moment. Understanding which personality is speaking and the history that informs them, helps you to understand why they give the advice they do.
You can learn to manage your mind, the voices you amplify and control in different contexts. The same is true for external boards – each member comes with unique history and perspective. Joe shares how understanding your inner board allows you to manage your board’s voices, amplify the right voices at the right time and know when you need to find new input.

Talk about the misuse of AI and the dangers it could bring if not used properly, focusing attention on the wrong things. Keeping humans at the center of the technology, not to replace.
“We are in 2107 years in the future, we are looking back in time to warn 2024 of the misuse of AI.
We have 2 billion less of the population, water levels rose and took land, harvest and some technology away from us and not everyone survived or knew how to do everything you do in the present.
We should have worked together more, we do now. We could have focused on the right things to use AI for rather than to help the rich stay rich and live longer. We appreciate what value people can offer rather than making them redundant.”

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

Que sont les buildpacks Paketo ? Quelles communautés les soutiennent et comment ?

SOCRadar Research Team: Latest Activities of IntelBrokerSOCRadar
The European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) has suffered an alleged data breach after a notorious threat actor claimed to have exfiltrated data from its systems. Infamous data leaker IntelBroker posted on the even more infamous BreachForums hacking forum, saying that Europol suffered a data breach this month.
The alleged breach affected Europol agencies CCSE, EC3, Europol Platform for Experts, Law Enforcement Forum, and SIRIUS. Infiltration of these entities can disrupt ongoing investigations and compromise sensitive intelligence shared among international law enforcement agencies.
However, this is neither the first nor the last activity of IntekBroker. We have compiled for you what happened in the last few days.
