Function
Imparting a particular mechanical finish affecting
appearance and feel, commonly known as stenter
finish.
Heat setting is done by the stenter for lycra fabric,
synthetic and blended fabric.
Width of the fabric is controlled by the stenter.
Applying and fixation of several finishing agents by
stenter machine.

Types of Stenter m/c
• Gas burning Stenter: Heat is produced from burning
GAS is called Gas burning stenter.
• Thermal oil heating stenter: Heat is produced from
thermal oil is called thermal oil burning water.

Working Principle (Cont.)
1.The stenter of fabric is passed through the padders of the stenter
where various softeners are used for softening of fabric.
2.The fabric is then entered into the mahlo(weft sratightener). The
function of the mahlo is to set the bow.
3.The fabric is gripped by the clips. Pins are also provided but the
pins has a disadvantages that make holes at the selvedge but the
stretching of the pins has a disadvantage that make holes at the
selvedge but the stretching of the pins are greater than the clips.
These clilps and pins are joined to endless chain.
4.There are 5 to 10 Chambers provided on the m/c each chamber
contains heat exchanger and blower system.
5.Blower system helps to take the heat from the heat exchanger and
apply to fabric for drying the fabric.

6. There are two exhaust fans system for removing extra heat from the
chamber.
7. There are over feeding system for shrinkage, spirality and GSM
control.
8. Filters are provided to separate dust from air.
9. The circulating fans blow air from the base to the upper side and
exhaust fans sucks all the hot air within the chambers.
