Bill Hartzer, Digital Marketing Expert, Speaks About On-Page and Off-Page SEOBill Hartzer
Everything You Must Know About On-Page and Off-Page SEO
SEO has evolved over the years and it’s alive and thriving in 2017. Some SEO concepts and techniques haven’t changed, but others must be adapted so they work. And, with mobile and local SEO being so important, you need to know what works and what doesn’t.
In this session, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about on-page and off-page SEO in 2017. Many on-page SEO techniques are against Google’s Webmaster Guidelines, while many techniques are encouraged by Google to make a site more accessible and crawlable. We’ll review what’s recommended and identify what will get a site penalized. We’ll also examine off-page techniques, including link building and social media marketing, that can be tricky as well.
Key takeaways include an on-page SEO checklist, new tips and tricks you can use to find more traffic for your site, and a review of off-page SEO techniques.

Conversion Models: A Systematic Method of Building Learning to Rank Training ...Lucidworks
When using user signals to improve relevance, what should you use? Clicks are more frequent, but really only correspond to a search result looking attractive. A conversion is a powerful signal of true relevance but occurs less frequently. Can we combine shallow "this looks interesting" click events along with strong, but rare conversion signals in a robust fashion to generate learning to rank training data? In this talk, we introduce click models, an industry-proven way of measuring search result attractiveness from clicks, and propose a systematic way of incorporating conversion data into click models. Whether your industry is conversion heavy (like e-commerce), or lacking in any clear conversion signal (like publishing) you'll take away from this talk a system for turning any search analytics into robust judgments and training data. Because, after all, there is no AI-based Search without good training data!

Enterprise Open Source Intelligence GatheringTom Eston
Presented at the Ohio Information Security Summit, October 30, 2009.
What does the Internet say about your company? Do you know what is being posted by your employees, customers, or your competition? We all know information or intelligence gathering is one of the most important phases of a penetration test. However, gathering information and intelligence about your own company is even more valuable and can help an organization proactively determine the information that may damage your brand, reputation and help mitigate leakage of confidential information.
This presentation will cover what the risks are to an organization regarding publicly available open source intelligence. How can your enterprise put an open source intelligence gathering program in place without additional resources or money. What free tools are available for gathering intelligence including how to find your company information on social networks and how metadata can expose potential vulnerabilities about your company and applications. Next, we will explore how to get information you may not want posted about your company removed and how sensitive metadata information you may not be aware of can be removed or limited. Finally, we will discuss how to build a Internet posting policy for your company and why this is more important then ever.

Retail Media in the EU and What You Can Learn from Success and Failures in th...Elizabeth Marsten
Retail media allows retailers to monetize their digital real estate by selling advertising space to brands and advertisers. In the last 5 years, retail media has reached $30b USD in advertising revenue and is predicted to continue growing. In contrast, it took social media 11 years to reach $30B USD in advertising revenue and it took search 14 years. The wave of retail or commerce media has already hit the shores of the EU but it’s just getting started. The list of retailers fast mimicking with networks of their own in mold of Amazon is swelling – Tesco, Sainsbury’s, ASDA and Morrison’s in the UK to REWE, Lidl and Kaufland to name a few, have already launched and continue to innovate and are pushing to compete for marketing spend. In this session, Elisabeth, who is a regular contributor to AdWeek on retail media and works with media channels, such as Walmart, Target, Instacart, Kroger, Criteo Retail Media and more will go over the nuances of retail media, questions to ask, mistakes to avoid and how you can ride the wave instead of having it crash over you.

Enter the Remix: Paid Search Advertising in eCommerceElizabeth Marsten
Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Amazon Advertising – what do all these have in common? Besides the major re-branding and re-focusing of their main messages to several levels up from where we might think of them historically, they’re also ushering in some important signals for what paid search marketers need to prepare for and think bigger about. Sure, we’ll continue to have the day to day overall duties stay highly tactical with shared budgets, QS improvements, to bid manually or not debates and best practices in aggregate over the coming years, but we are going to see some fundamental landscape changes in the next 2 years in a faster and more impactful manner than we have in the last 10 years of search marketing.

However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
