My Career Plan for next 5 year
My Future Career Plans With A Free Essay Review
PROMPT: My future career plans, why I want and need to study in the US at the graduate level,
and how I hope to contribute to my country s democratic and economic development.
My name is Levan, I m 23 years old. I was born in small city Dusheti, where i started learning. In
2000 I won the olympics in mathematics and I came to the school of physics and mathematics
Comarovi in tbilisi, which I successfully graduated in 2005. I have obtained my Bachelor s Degree
from the business administration faculty of the Georgian American University in Georgia in 2009.

I love Georgia, and I intend to do everything in its economic and democratic development.

ESSAYREVIEW
You begin to respond to the prompt directly in the final two paragraphs. The penultimate paragraph,
which addresses the question of why you want and need to study in the US is quite vague. The
argument that U.S. education is great is rather general (and not true _in general_). If you specified
that program you want to enroll in and why, you might have something more concrete and
meaningful to say. Your final paragraph deals with what you intend to do on your return to
Georgia. This paragraph is a little bit clearer, but not by much. It would be a good idea to specify
what you mean by the management system, especially if you mean something, as you apparently
do, that is applicable to both government and the private sector. The essay says next to nothing
about democratic development, but knowing nothing about the program for which you are
applying, I ve no idea how important that is. I suggest, in any case, expanding the last two
paragraphs, with a view to making their claims more specific, and condensing the rest of the essay.
Keep your sentences relatively short and simple in order to minimise the number of errors.

Safe Water with Adequate Sanitation
1 Introduction
Accessing safe water with adequate sanitation has been a crucial problem for billions of people
around the world (1). Most of them are in the developing countries and this problem seems to
increase in the following years (2). One of the renewable sources of freshwater which has
sufficient sanitation is rainfall. Globally precipitation generates supply of 40000 to 45000 km3
per year (3). However, there is not a uniform rainfall for different areas of the world. Developed
countries are mostly located in the temperate or tepid latitudes, hence they have more
precipitation. On the other hand, developing countries have mostly arid and semi arid climates
which they lack in the sufficient rainfall. Imbalance between water needs and its resources has
been a crucial issue for these countries. It has been expected that by the year 2025, 34 countries
most of them developing nations will experience water scarcity (2) (3). This situation is more
critical in the North Africa and in the Middle East (4).
In addition to the scarcity of fresh water which is a major concern, nowadays for both developed
and developing countries, the quality of water has been deteriorated due to the pollution,
particularly in the developing nations. The major causes of the contaminated water resources are
the inadequate wastewater treatment, non optimized landfill construction, leaking from sewage
systems, and unauthorized agricultural, municipal and industrial wastewater discharge into aquatic

Narrative Essay On Being A Daredevil
I was a very mischievous person and I liked to take stupid risks that didn t make sense to anybody
else. People gave me extreme dares just to see if I would be able to complete them. I always
proved myself as the daredevil of the group. I used to take pride in the fact that I can do extreme
things without feeling slightest kind of fear. This nature of being a daredevil got the best of me
when I was given the task where I got into a horrible situation. I was bitten by a wild dog on my
ankle. It was extremely painful and devastating. I wasn t able to walk for over a month. This
incident had an impact on my mind for a long time. I had scary dreams where I was chased by

a faint cry in the distance. I didn t take much notice. I thought it is all in my head and that my
mind is playing tricks on me again. I ignored it and kept on working but no matter how hard I
tried, those voices didn t go away. Turning up the music volume seemed to work on blocking out
the noises. I finished my work and went to the kitchen to grab some water when I heard that cry
again, this time it was louder and more painful. Instead of looking for what it was and where it
was coming from my fears overpowered me and I went back to my room. I got in my bed and
tried to block the sounds by covering my head with a blanket. My conscious was not letting me

painful sound. I couldn t help but imagine the pain it must be in. the more I thought about it, I
wanted to help it. I was in a constant fight with my fears, but I thought that I wouldn t be able to
sleep knowing some living creature might be in pain. I gathered the courage and walked back to
the kitchen to find the source of the animal voices. I assumed that it would be coming from one of
the cabinets but when I looked outside the window I could see a cat stuck in the concrete screen

A Clean Well Lighted Place Analysis
Ernest Hemingway did not write a happy, inspiring story. His story A Clean, Well Lighted Place
uses a famous code of behavior to dictate what his characters say and how they act. The story is
depressing, dreary, and distressing but it gets the philosophical premises across. He demonstrates
to not make trouble for other people, to contain one s despair and self pity by sheer will power,
and to not judge others and view the unenlightened with pity. Hemingway uses his story to propose
that people should not make trouble for other people.
A great example when the old, deaf man is still in the cafe. The younger waiter is antsy to go
home but the old man is still there, so when he asks for another drink the waiter cuts him off. When

After the cafe is closed, he goes to a bar but dislikes the atmosphere, so decides to return home.
He depicts it with the imagery, Now, without thinking further, he would go home to his room...
After all, he said to himself, it s probably only insomnia. Many must have it. He is sad with his life
so when he cannot find his desired place, clean and pleasant, he goes home instead of bothering
other people. He does not force his despair onto others but keeps it inside. Using sheer will power
to contain one s despair and self pity is a big aspect to Hemingway s code of behavior. Moreover,
Ernest Hemingway suggests to not judge others and view the unenlightened with pity. The older
waiter best portrays this with his interactions with the younger waiter. They are discussing the
difference between young and old and the differences between them. The old waiter can relate
more to the deaf man and says, You do not understand. This is a clean and pleasant cafe. It is
well lighted. The light is very good and also, now, there are shadows of the leaves. He
understands the appeal of the cafe compared to the other places opened that late. He chooses to not
judge the younger one for his ignorance, but instead feels sorry for him. Furthermore, the young
waiter shows his unenlightenment when he talks about the old, deaf man. He is rambling on about
how he has a life, where as, the old man s is over and does not matter

Little Miamiy Trail Research Paper
The Little Miami Scenic Trail
The final planned section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail opens May 1 for walking, jogging or
running, biking, and in line skating. The Little Miami rail trail is a paved trail that follows the
abandoned railroad route of the Little Miami Railroad from Milford (east of Cincinnati) to
Springfield. For most of the trail s length, a grassy strip runs beside it for horseback riding and
runners and walkers who want to feel ground below their feet!. The trail is crossed by a number of
roads, but only a few blocks of the trail in Xena share the road with cars. Ample parking is
provided at each end of the trail, with numerous access locations along its route. Restrooms,
restaurants, and picnic facilities are also available at intervals along the trail.
The Little Miami Scenic Trail is one of the best biking routes in the area, with mostly flat to
rolling terrain enlivened by views of the Little Miami River, farmland, and quaint small towns.
Because the trail was constructed in a long abandoned rail bed, much of the trail is deeply shaded
a real plus on a hot, sticky summer day.

Allegany History Week And Wellsville Civil War Reenactment
Seeing Allegany County History
Report on the events I had visited during the last days of the Allegany History Week and Wellsville
Civil War Reenactment
During the weekend of September 24th 25, 2016, I had attended some of the events involved
with Allegany History Week and the Civil War Reenactment in Wellsville. On Saturday, I visited
the historical display room in Howe Library, in Wellsville, and visited the Civil War Reenactment
in Wellsville s Island Park. On Sunday, I went to see the Voices of the Past event at the Palmer
Opera House in Cuba. This will be a report of what I had seen in these events.
On Saturday morning, I went to Howe Library in Wellsville, to see its historical display. The
display room featured various tables holding displays of the history of various towns, displays of
history projects by young residents, and various historical antiques. The layout consisted of
various isles formed by the placement of objects and stands. Four lanes ran perpendicular to the
four room walls, forming a walking square, which was met on the other side with a rough square
of displays. This internal square of displays had points on which to enter an internal space lined
with more displays on the inside.
Not far from the entrance, there was the display of the replicas of Hamilton Burr Dueling Pistols.
The original pistols had belonged to John Barker Church, and had been kept by the Church family
in their Belvidere mansion for generations, until economic hardships forced

Emperor Vespasian s Invention Of The Colosseum
In 75 CE, Emperor Vespasian started construction on the Flavian Amphitheater, known today as the
Colosseum. It is the largest amphitheater ever to be built, and is considered one of the greatest
works of architecture and engineering. It is an iconic Roman symbol. The Flavian Amphitheater
received the name Colosseumfrom the nearby statue of Nero, called the Colossus (Lubell). The
building was part of a wider construction programme begun by Emperor Vespasianin order to
restore Rometo its former glory prior to the turmoil of the recent civil war. Located in the heart of
Ancient Rome, the Colosseum was constructed over the former site of the lake that was part of

The Colosseum has an elliptical shape, enabling attendees to have a good view from virtually
any location. It could hold over fifty thousand to eighty thousand spectators, with the best view

advantage for the upper classes was being able to enter and exit the stadium faster. The inner part
of the Colosseum measures 620 ft long and 513 ft wide. Each of the Colosseum s three stories has
eighty arches. On the bottom floor, 76 of them functioned as general entrances with the others
being reserved for the emperor, the senate, and gladiators. At the height of its use, the monument
had statues in each of the archways on the second and third floors. There were sockets for 240
wooden beams at the top of the Colosseum to support an awning. Sailors of the imperial fleet, who
often did not have any other work to do, were stationed nearby so that they could move the awning

French Woods Narrative
My final night at French Woods Festival, the arts camp I attended for three summers, my bunk
decided to stay up long past our curfew, sitting on the counselor s bed and reminiscing about how
we had spent the prior six weeks, trying not to talk about our separation the next morning. While I
sat, laughed, and cried with my surrogate familythat night, I was also doing something else; I sat
by the dim flashlight, trying to quickly finish a friendship bracelet with a ballet shoe on it before
morning came, so that I could give it to my favorite dance teacher.
Even before that summer, I always felt that summer camps and friendship bracelets were
intrinsically connected. For almost as many summers as I ve been attending school, I ve been going

My last summer at camp, I decided to strike a compromise; Instead of fulfilling requests from
people I barely knew, I wanted to make bracelets for the campers and counselors who I had grown
close to organically. That way, I would still get to share my art with the people around me, but
on my terms. While I turned down requests that summer, over the course of my six weeks, I still

Finally, a few days before camp ended, I realized I had time to make just one more bracelet, and
while most of the people I felt close to already had my art adorning their wrists, I had not yet made
one for my dance teacher, and I jumped at the opportunity to make my last bracelet of the summer

Analysis Of The Twilight Saga
The Cullen Family: More than just Blood Sucking Vampires
The Twilight Saga, by Stephanie Meyer, has been viewed as a narrative of either teenage lust or
romantic love characterized by Bella, a private seventeen year old girl, and Edward, a
mysterious vampire who goes to Bella s high school; Yet no one has credited the Cullen s in the
full light they deserve, in the way that they display family loyalty, self control, and altruism
among their family of vampires. The book series infatuated the hearts of teenage girls across the
world, and even expanded upon those horizons to reach an audience so wide that the book series
became a household name. Critics have endlessly discussed the love, or lust, of the two individuals
and are fascinated by the fact that the TwilightSaga falls not just in the genre of romance, but also
in the supernatural/ horror category. Maple, in an article that discusses this barrier breaking love
that Bella and Edward display, states throughout the story Bella and Edward share an unorthodox
relationship, a love above and beyond all others: something more expressive of eternal
commitment (Maple). Maple emphasizes how deep and rare the love between the two adolescents
is, and I would argue that human s innate desire for this kind of love is one of the main reasons
why Twilight became so widespread. However, another basis for the obsession of the books is
simply because The Cullen s, the family in which Edward belongs to, represent vampires in a

Visual Arts And Art Education
This essay is about visual arts/design education, visual culture education and a brief history of
visual art/design education. This essay aims to explore the connections of arts education, history of
arts education and visual culture education through a theoretical investigation of literature by
theorist Addison and Burgess 2015, Efland 1990, Eisenhauer 2006, Macdonald 2004, McFee 1960,
Jetton and Shanahan 2012. For the context of this study art/design education will simply be
represented by art education . I will use a qualitative research method
My essay begins with investigating the term visual arts. The phrase visual arts create a connection
to the world through the ways of seeing . The emphasis on what could be looked at heard and
touched. Therefore visual arts are an area of learning that focuses art forms that could be visually
and audibly appreciated. Example: painting, drawing, printing, weaving, ceramics, sculpture,

For the reason that visual arts education is constantly changing I believe we can for now analyze it
as a social construction influenced by culture and the social context which it explains. Arts

The continued success of art education should be focused on studying art through individual
experiences, and development. Also art history and the study of visual culture are meaningless in
the lives of learners unless they are better integrated into the art education curriculum (Mcfee
1960:18). Although arts education has made great historical strides Efland (1990:263) still
questions the system of art education curricula particularly the educator s way of facilitating skills

The Pros And Cons Of Online Gambling
The Nevada legislature, the act that legalized gambling at the local level, came into place in
1931. Since then, casino gambling has always been a major industry in the United States. Since its
advent, casino gambling has dominated the reputation and nightlife of several cities and towns
across the US, with Nevada and New Jersey being the most affected. For the better part of five
decades, Nevada s role in playing the host to Sin City has gone mainly uncontested until New
Jersey decided to throw its hat into the ring.
Though Las Vegas, Reno, and Atlantic City are still the largest and most popular casinoand

Research Paper On Lean Manufacturing

It s not necessary to change, survival is not mandatory Demming
Lean manufacturing a systematic approach to doing more with less. In other words, Lean, is a
method of increasing the amount of a manufacturer s output, while reducing the amount of
resources put in. Lean is of great interest to manufacturers around the world. Companies of all sizes
employ lean principles to employ large improvements to quality, marketability and customer service.
Lean is a production philosophy, a way of manufacturing a product using less resources. These
principles allow a manufacturer to produce more with less by eliminating waste. Less time,

Lean has been applied to many industries and have worked for factories of all sizes. Most factories
have less than 250 employees.
Small batches are used to smooth production flow in the plant.
Total manufacturing effort is divided into value added activities and into non value added activities.
Lean manufacturing aims to reduce the amount of non value added activities. Optimising flow of
production allows manufacturers to reduce the non value added activites and increase the value
adding activities.
History
The idea that reducing waste will save money is not a novel one, so lean manufacturing has
actually been around for hundreds of years, for example the idea of an assembly line far predates
the modern lean manufacturing era. However the modern iteration of lean manufacturing was
developed in Japan by Toyoda, the founder of Toyota. The Toyota Production System was translated
to English in 1975 and today is used as the starting point of lean manufacturing worldwide.
Many people believe that the Toyota production system was the beginning of Lean manufacturing.
Translated to English in 1975. 1990 researchers learned that Toyota was the most efficient

Who Is Donald Trump A Good President
Grab them by the pussy! Donald J. Trump, the newly elected president of the United States is
known for his demeaning remarks against women and Latin American immigrants. Many people
believe that anyone who oversteps the boundaries of good taste and manner is unfit to be a leader
in a company or any organisation. However, proper manners are not what make a company
successful. A leader cannot care about every opinion if he bring his or his organization s agenda
forward.
Why do many people believe that leaders with personal indiscretions are unfit? The argument is
that they present a bad example for others. A leader who displays a lack of empathy will instill the
same in his followers. If my president does it, why shouldn t I, too? Supporters at Donald Trump s
rallies often became violent at protestors or immigrants, directly incinerated by Trump s speeches.

Grade 1 Injury Essay
Description of the Injury
There are four different Hamstring muscles that run along the back of your thigh. These four
muscles are called: semimembranosus and semitendinosus (medially) and biceps femoris short and
long heads (laterally). Hamstrings strains can occur for multiple reasons.
There are three grades of hamstring strains; Grade 1 Pull, Grade 2 Partial tear, Grade 3 Avulsion.
The three grades are all different and show different signs and pain levels.
If you are experiencing a grade 1 hamstring strain you are likely to feel tightness at the back of your
thigh. You will be able to feel discomfort in your Hamstring and although you will be able to walk
you won t be able to run at full speed. Mild swelling and spasms will most likely occur. Grade 1
strains take 1 3 weeks to heal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sudden pangs of pain will be present during activity. Same as the grade 1 strain there will be
swelling and the hamstring will be sore to touch. Bending your knee against resistance will be
painful. Grade 2 strains take 4 8 weeks to heal.
The worst strain to the hamstring is a grade 3 strain. Grade 3 strains involve a tear to all or half of
the hamstring muscle. Walking will cause severe pain and you will either need assistance from
someone or crutches. Swelling will happen immediately and bruising will appear within 24 hours.
Grade 3 strains take 3 6 months to heal.
Occurrence and Prevention
The factors that contribute to a strained Hamstring can be put into two different categories, primary
and secondary. Primary factors are the bad timing of intermuscular coordination and the strength of
the hamstring during the change between the late recovery of the leg and the approach in the
swinging motion of sprinting.
Secondary factors include things such as:
Poor running style
Over striding or bad control of pelvic movement can make the hamstrings vulnerable to injury

their superiority to violently conquer Palestine. That was after being allowed a land to settle in

How Does Orwell Use Intelligence In Animal Farm
They explained that by their studies of the past three months the pigs had succeeded in reducing the
principles of Animalism to Seven Commandments (Orwell 24). This passage from the book
suggests that the pigs are completely in charge of Animal Farm, and they use their intelligence to
create the Seven Commandments, and rule the farm This moment is the beginning of the pigs reign
over AnimalFarm. Although it may look like Orwell shows the pigs using their intelligence for the
well being and prosperity of Animal Farm, he is actually using techniques like simile, metaphor,

The mystery of where the milk went to was soon cleared up. It was mixed every day into the
pigs mash (Orwell 35). The milk and apples of the farm had been mysteriously disappearing, but
it turns out that the pigs had been smuggling them in all along. We pigs are brainworkers. The
whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching
over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink milk and eat those apples (Orwell 36). It is
implied in Squealer s quote that the pigs stealing of the milk and apples can be justified, because it
is for the well being of the animals. This is evidence of the pigs incorrect use of intelligence
leading to corruption. In addition to this, the pigs brainwashing of the animals is evident in the
character Boxer. Orwell uses imagery to depict Boxer s loyalty to Napoleon and his dullness.
His two slogans, I will work harder and Napoleon is always right, seemed to him a sufficient

How A Polymer Is Important Class Of Reinforcement
1.INTRODUCTION
A combination of two or more materials (reinforcement, resin, filler, etc),differing in form or
composition on a macro scale . They usually consist of high performance fibres as reinforcing
phases and polymers or metals as matrices.
Generally two phases of composite they are matrix phase and reinforcement phase or dispersed
phase. Matrix is the primary phase, having a continuous character, and its usually more ductile and
less hard phase, it hold the dispersed phase and shares a load with it another one is reinforced
phase is embedded in the matrix in a discontinuous form. This secondary phase is dispersed phase
.it usually stronger then the matrix therefore it is sometimes act reinforcement phase.
Composition of fibres reinforced composite the fibres are important class of reinforcement, as they
satisfy the desired conditions and transfer strength to the matrix constituent influencing and
enhancing their properties as desire.
A polymer is defined as a long chain molecule containing one or more repeating units of atoms
joined together by strong covalent bonds. A polymeric material is a collection of a large number of
polymer molecules of similar chemical structure . matrix rein which provide the continuous phase
of the composite is expected to serve. Provide a uniform distribution of the structural and

Analysis Of Jack Kerouac s On The Road
Author and Beat literary movement pioneer Jack Kerouac adopts what he calls spontaneous prose
as his own unique style in On the Road. Otherwise known as stream of consciousness, this is a
method of writing that essentially captures the nebulous and unrelated thoughts that cross the
narrator s mind at any given moment, without break for explanation. Critics are quick to point out
that this concept is materialized in the premise of Kerouac s novel On the Roaditself, citing the
cross country trek that is the center around which the novel revolves. It is one of confusion,
calamity, and carelessness, as well as fast paced, unpredictable change of direction and complete
emancipation of personal responsibility that is the self proclaimed... Show more content on

Neal s attitude towards society is one more of individuality rather than rebellion. As one critic
puts it, [Neal] doesn t want to overthrow the government, but he doesn t want a government, or
anyone else for that matter, to have control over him (Napierkowski and Stanley 188). He begins
to idolize Neal and his viral, vivid personality. One critic describes the pair s relationship as one
of lost brother[s], and goes on to describe Neal as the like minded, vibrant wanderer that Kerouac
desired (Cunnel 8). Kerouac even grows jealous when Neal meets Allen Ginsberg, where he writes,
Two keen minds that [Allen and Neal] are they took to each other at the drop of a hat... the holy

explosive personalities of the two survive through his strong affinity towards Neal. While in

Prostate Cancer And Its Effects On African Americans
Prostate Cancer in Brooklyn
Chandra Tameshwar
Nursing 304
Professor Dr. McDuffie
Prostate cancer originates in the male prostate gland. Cancers in this gland are the most common
malignancies, which grow very slowly, and can have minimal effect on a man s quality of life.
However, a tumor in the prostate gland can be problematic for men, especially black men, even
though it is only about the size of a walnut. Located below the bladder and in front of the rectum,
the prostate provides the fluid that nourishes and protects sperm cells in the semen. Researchers are
still debating the cause of this disease, although certain risk factors such as age, ethnicity, culture,
environment, diet, and family history, increase the chance of getting it. Prostate cancer affects
African American men and early screening and detection are the key factors that can be used to
prevent mortality and reduce morbidity, especially in the Brooklyn area. Prostate cancer is the
second leading cause of cancer death in African American men and has the highest reported
mor¬tality rate, which is 2.4 times higher than in Caucasian men or any racial or ethnic group in
the United States, according to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC; 2014).
African American males, including those from Jamaica, a Caribbean Island, have the highest
prostate cancer incidence rates worldwide. The reason for this is not clear, but may reflect genetic
factors that vary in populations

The article Why God Became Man composed by Lehman Strauss addresses several arguments
concerning the Incarnation of Jesus Christ and he presents some details explanations which support
the convictions of the Council of Chalcedon, Jesus is God the incarnate word and He possesses the
perfect Godhead and the perfect manhood. His fully divine nature is united with His fully human
nature, yet without mixing, blending or alteration . Strauss continues assessing his discoveries with

Warner Bros. studio saw this film and decided that Burton would be a great director for their

Racism In The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter
Throughout the course of about fifteen years, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling has made
such an impact on the world by intertwining politics in the books. Influencing children on the
struggles of such things as racism, terrorism, and even the problems in the social classes, has made
each child flourish and enhance their curiosity. In America, the government compares ideally to the
Ministry of Magicin the Wizarding World, which is the primary governing body of wizards and
witches in the United Kingdom. Today, people need to acknowledge the unfortunate occurrences

of Harry Potter is just as bluntly barbaric as it is in America today. For centuries, human beings
are constantly trying to prove whose race is superior in America and in the Wizarding World. In
the Wizarding World, the dilemma is between Muggles and Pure Bloods. Muggles are what
wizards consider humans that have no relation to wizardry or magic. Pure Bloods are wizards
who have pure wizard blood and families have been for centuries. Pure Bloods consider Muggles
to be weak minded and doltish, however, they are just as equal. A mudblood, is an obscene term
used to describe a wizard whose parents aren t pure bloods. This term was first spoken in Harry

The Door Of Ni Ankh Snefru Essay

Door of Ni ankh Snefru ca. 2321 2278 B.C.E.
White Limestone
From the great pyramids to notable rulers, Egypt has solidified its reputation as one of the most
dominant civilizations of the Mediterranean world. Through the creation of monuments and
artifacts emerges the true beauty and richness of Egypt s history and art. The Door of Ni ankh
Snefru embodies the depth of social and religious implications within Egyptian culture. The door
was an important element to private tombs because it served as a passageway for the deceased
soul to go from one world to the next. Doors like this were often inscribed with offering
instructions, the name, and titles of its owner. Visitors would bring offerings to the private tomb
to celebrate Ni ankh Snefru, who was a wine cellar and food storage overseer at the palace and a
lector priest. The sculpture itself stands about five feet high, three feet wide, and is from the Old
Kingdom during ca.2321 BCE. It is made of white limestone which gives it a grainy texture, but
has traces of paint that give it a more even tone of an off white or cream color. Typical of
Egyptian art, the Door of Ni ankh Snefru is decorated with hieroglyphics and reliefs to frame the
importance of the deceased, Ni ankh Snefru, and convey messages of administration, religion, and
culture to its viewers. Egyptian hieroglyphics, typically depicted on scrolls, pottery, and stone,

his own infallibility got in the way of his judgement he meant that his pride had escalated to the

That embarrassment lead to his own pride overcoming his intuition. The narrator s distorted

Van Gogh Violence
I believe that Van Gogh is identifying red and green with something that s negative in his
statement. In my opinion, red displays violence. Green in the other hand, can be more peaceful
and use to describe nature. According to Gateways to Art, red is interpreted to be a color that can
influence aggression, also when people are exposed to red lightoften become loud, grow
argumentative, and eat voraciously . In the book it is also stated that green, traditionally, has
positive associations for Muslims (114).
I think that the artist Van Gogh did a magnificent job with the night cafГ© painting. By analyzing
the painting, I can see all the small details Van Gogh added and makes the whole painting stand
out. According to the book, when it came to pieces such as The Night CafГ© Van Gogh wanted

Aside from keeping you alert and awake, coffee can also keep you young and fighting cancer. So,
continue reading for answers to some frequently asked questions about coffee and its antioxidants.
What are antioxidants?
Antioxidants are any vitamin or nutrient that can help prevent cancer or damage to the heart and
other tissues caused by free radicals. By neutralizing free radicals, they prevent cell degradation.
Antioxidant rich foods include blueberries, raspberries, dates, chocolate and, of course, coffee.
What type of antioxidants are in coffee?
The antioxidants found in coffee are called polyphenols. More specifically, the compound is
methylpridinium. The antioxidant isn t present in raw, green coffee beans, but is actually created
during the roasting process.
How much coffee is enough?
Research has shown that people who drink one to two coffees a day have half the risk of
developing liver cancer when compared to people who didn t drink coffee. Meanwhile, drinking 4
to 6 cups of coffee can reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes by as much as 50 percent.
However, despite the reduced risk for these diseases and other cancers, like oral, esophageal, and
pharyngeal cancer, doctors don t recommend you start drinking 10 cups a day. Coffee is still a
stimulant and a diuretic and if drunk in excess can cause heart problems, anxiety and possible
dangerously elevated blood pressure.

A photograph is often known as a window to the past. Through photographs, global progression in
areas such as technology, culture and politics can be analyzed. The impacts of photos can be
tremendous and define future issues, events and politics. One photo that has significantly defined
the twentieth century is the Bloody Saturday photo (see Appendix A). The photo was captured by a
Chinese American photojournalist named H.S. Wong (also referred to as Newsreel Wong) on
August 28th 1937, moments after the ShanghaiBombing in the midst of the Battle of Shanghai. The
bomb was dropped by Japanese pilots as a result of growing tensions between Chinaand Japan. The
animosity was so high that only a few years later the two nations entered World War Two in the
Pacific. Amidst the fall of rubble and chaos, Wong was able to capture an iconic image of a
young, burned child all alone crying in the debris moments after the bombs were dropped.
Reactions of public outrage became apparent as well as a dramatic increase in animosity towards
the Japanese after the photo s release. Ultimately, the release of H.S Wong s Bloody Saturday
photo, dramatically defined twentieth century politics through its display of Japanese aggression,
the alleged scandal behind the photo and its endured global impact. Firstly, the use of a baby as the

Catalase Optimum Temperature
Catalase possesses a range of optimal temperatures depending on what organism those cells
belong to. Human catalase has an optimum temperature of around 45 degrees Celsius, whereas
plants have a slightly lower optimal temperature for catalase at around 37 40 degrees Celsius.
Catalase works optimally at a neutral pH between 6.8 7.5, allowing it to operate in nearly all
types of cells. Catalase is generally found in the peroxisomes of a cell, but can also be found
elsewhere in small quantities. Although catalase is found in all cells, it can be in varying
concentrations depending on where that cell is in the body; the liver possesses higher levels of
catalase compared to the rest of the body as it uses the enzyme not only to break down hydrogen

Catholic Church Annotation
In a recent event in Rome, Pope Francis was faced with the question on whether he would
consider the ordaining of female deacons in the Roman Catholic Church. While addressing the
900 superiors of women s religious orders he vowed that he was in agreement and would consider
it. This is a decision that I am in agreement with and feel that it is long overdue for a myriad of
reasons.
Pope Francis papacy began on March 13, 2013 and he vowed to be open to new and fresh ideas to
help the Catholic Church become more appealing to those in the 21st century. In vowing to
seriously consider the female deacon he is proving to be true to his word, an item one would
believe to be de facto with his position. The immediate support for his mention proved this notion
worthy and would generate an immediate ground swell of young Christian women without a
denomination to at least take a more serious look at Catholicism and it s teachings. The shear fact
that he is even considering this is a huge change in a Church that only recently, with Pope Francis
mention, acknowledged the huge role that women play in Catholic life. ... Show more content on

Sherman Alexie s The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight
Sherman Alexie s The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven is a collection of short stories
about the lives of the people who live on the Spokane Indian Reservation. The central protagonist
of the story is Victor Joseph who we see in many short stories and thus see the plight Native
Americans go through in modern day America. The novel shows us the many trials that the people
of the Reservation go through and addresses the many serious problems that modern Native
Americans face, such as racism, alcoholism, poverty, limited educational opportunities, and being
geographical isolated. Ultimately the state of affairs that the modern Native American race goes
through stems from the historical events of European colonialism as well as modern day popular
culture.
One of the major problems that modern Native Americans face are the Americanization or white

Major League Baseball and the lawyer John M. Dowd, they were able to discover that Rose had

case to the federal level, Rose and Giamatti came to an agreement which included Rose s lifetime

in his autobiography in 2004. Currently, Pete Rose continues to serve his lifetime ban, hoping

Rose out of the hall of fame. Egoism, the idea of acting in manner which is best for me, is a
theory which does not lead Rose to the hall of fame. With Egoism we have to look at what is
best for the party in charge and which decision will lead to the best outcome. With the Pete Rose

Pete Rose can be ignored in the egoistic analysis, since the decision to place him in the hall of fame

percent of their land, and 40 percent of them has decreased immensely in population. The decrease
is ongoing, even within common species populations. Even though there are still high numbers of

Bird populations continue to dwindle. Invertebrates make up about 97 percent of life on earth;
approximately 30 percent of the invertebrates are at endangerment of extinction. About 51 percent
of mammals are at risk of extinction. Approximately 68 percent of plant species are at risk of
extinction as well. If all organisms are going through massive losses in population, how could that
not be affecting biodiversity?
The effects on biodiversity of this extinction will be catastrophic. If species are dying out links
of the food chain and of food webs are be missing. With less species on the earth, because they
are dying within this so called sixth mass extinction , the earth is getting less and less biodiverse.
With the missing links of the food web/chains that causes a reaction in which whole habitats or

Jubien s Definition Of The Universe
Jubien begins his argument by defining the universe as all of the physical aspects of space. With
this as his foundation it is not possible for the Big bang to be the origin of the universe. As
discussed in lecture, the common man denotes all this physical to being related to a first cause in
an infinite chain of causes. This ideal is based on the thoughts that there was nothing before he Big
Bang, and that the event itself started everything we can receive through our senses. According to
Jubien s definition of the universeas containing all physical and material things, any physical
cause could not be the origin of the universe because it would cause two new questions to arise.
What was that event s cause? If it is even plausible, how can a physical event take place outside
of the universe? Jubien would say that the origin of the universe can be answered with a simple I
don t know, because there is only so far back causes can observably go before there is a lack of
information available. Any physical cause of the universe can be traced to another cause, and
therefore cannot be the origin of the universe.

Interview Panel On The Middle School Basketball Coaches Essay
Activity Description and Summary For this activity I was responsible for being part of our
interview panel to hire our middle school basketball coaches. We hired four coaches to help
mentor our fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade boys basketball teams. I was part of a three
person interview panel that featured our principal, athletic director, and me. This interview
process was the first time I ve been a part of hiring someone to feel a need at the school. The
topic we interviewed is something I was comfortable with because I have coached basketball the
past six years. I felt like I could find us the right fit and discussed the opportunity to be a part of
the hiring process because of the need of this internship activity. It s hard to find an interview
process during the year for teachers, but I believe coaching is a great substitute for teaching
because it is an extension of the classroom. Learning how to play a sport and how you conduct
yourself on the court can help you later in life. I wanted to find a candidate that could be a role
model for the students and help teach them life lessons through the game of basketball. We all
agreed we are looking for someone who will stress that basketball doesn t come above our education
and our families. Our school has struggled with student achievement and I think sports can help
motivate students to do better in the classroom. The class that best aligns with the hiring process is
EL 5623. This class helped us learn

The Sea Of The Cave
The lush green slopes of the kelp beds had long since faded away, an ash and charcoal sand
taking its place, dotted here and there by dark and gnarled husks of those who had ventured
through before, and the innocent looking gray vines that had ensnared them. Swaying slightly
in the current these vines looked as dead as the rest of the landscape, calm and deceptively
innocent. Suddenly, the sea bed changes, a glassy surface of polished stones slope down
towards a deep dark hole dominating the murky darkness ahead. In the center of this dark hole a
shimmering light is barely visible. A sirens call to lure you in. It is the sea witches lair and once
you have seen the light you are caught just as surely as if you got too close to the... Show more

Um, I.. I... was just going over the river and through the wood to grandmas.
I think that s a different story honey. But, you are here for something yes? You can nod your head
how great for you. Well, the cost depends on what you ask for, but know that my prices, well baby,
they re steep. You look confused, do you wantto know why are they so steep? Another head nod,
really? Okay, well do you want the truth or the lie that matches the idea you have in your head
of me as a cruel and evil monster? You know what never mind, one truth bomb coming up. Not
that you re going to believe me, but the truth is, the higher the price the more it deters people
from making stupid decisions they will regret. It s my last ditch effort to make them really
consider what they are asking and what they are willing to give up for it. Now before you let
your thoughts of me as a monster with no compassion run rampant. Before you let what the
world has told you of me cloud the reality that stands before you, let me let you in on a little
secret sweetie, your view of the world and who and what is in it is very limited. You can only
think inside the tight little bubble of what you ve been told, and you re going to die never having
lived as long as you keep looking at the world through yourself. Open up kiddo, let the world show
you what it is instead of trying to manhandle it into being what you think it should be. Trust me, that
doesn t work out well in the end. Aaaand

Federal Budget Deficit And The National Debt
These two graphs are dealing with the federal budget deficit and the national debt and just how
diverse they are from the time differences with both begging approximately in the 2001 s and

budget deficit and the national debt is by how the Deficitdeals with taking the difference of what
the U.S. government gets in from taxes or other revenues calling these receipts, but on top of that
the amount of money they spend calling these outlays. Some of these items included in the deficit

Treasury sailing IOUs towards the government in the form of securities, which are called bonds.
When this occurs the effect goes by when the federal government asks U.S. and foreign households,
business, and governments to lend them money that will cover the deficit they have created.
Covering the deficit, but also has indebtedness to bondholders as well. They should be concerned
with crowding out, just because the mechanism by which investment is crowded out is an increase
in the interest rate. By more sales of securities, this would cause them to raise the interest rates on
the bonds to even have anybody wanting to buy them. These higher interest rates on bonds are
going to discourage private sectors investment and spending and these high rates causes a reduction
in the growth in capital formation, which in turn slows the growth of productivity and improvement
in society s living standard. Increasing the level of spending by the present generation crowds out
investments and reduces the growth of capital goods, leaving those in the future generations with a
smaller capital stock leaving them not to be as wealthy as they wanted to be before because this

Crowding out refers to the government providing a service or good that would otherwise be that

Steroid Hormones Research Paper
Hormones are compounds produced by the endocrine system that chemically regulate specific body
functions. Steroid hormones have a biochemical unique 4 ring structure, including three 6 carbon
rings and one 5 carbon ring. Androgens are steroids hormones synthesized primarily in the gonads
and adrenal glands. Testosterone, the key androgen, affects sexual features and development. It
maintains nitrogen balance and facilitates protein synthesis (anabolism). In men, it is made in large
amounts by the Leydig cells of the testes and in women, by the ovaries. The pituitary gland in the
brain secretes hormones called luteinizing hormones (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)
which regulate the number of Leydig cells in the testes. Also, LH controls how much testosterone
the Leydig cells produce by regulating the expression of 17 b hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Since
this enzyme mediates the rate limiting step of testosterone synthesis, its inhibition can stop the
synthesis of. Males synthesize 2.5 to 11mg of Testosterone a day while females produce about 0.25
mg daily.
Testosterone is not water soluble; it gets through the cell s phospholipids membrane well but cannot
flush easily into the bloodstream. Once synthesized, testosterone is secreted into the blood and is
carried to target cells in the male reproductive organs. Most ... Show more content on

or Dbol) which was more selective and specific to the needs of athletes ( History, 2016; CESAR,

approved by the FDA for human use ( History, 2016, para. 8). This acted as a gateway for
exploring and synthesizing variations of AASs; today there are more than 100 variations of AASs
most of which are not approved for use in the health care setting (CESAR,

The Political Value Of Education
Since the eighteenth century, there have been fractious debates about the nature and purpose of
schooling in the United States of America. Thomas Jefferson, a product of classical education and
Enlightenment thinking, was primarily concerned with the political value of education. For
Jefferson, an educated populace was a prerequisite of a free republic. In 1779, he proposed a bill
that would provide three years of publicly funded educationfor all free Americans, to prepare the
citizenry to make political decisions at the ballot box (Spring, 2016, p.12). Horace Mann
emphasized the social and economic value of education. He considered equality of opportunity to
be the primary goal of public education. In the twenty first century, there is considerable contention
regarding the mission and methodology of American public education. The halls of government
serve as the nexus of debate since this is where the goals of education are politically determined
(Spring, 2016, p. 3). Although they disagreed on methodology, both Jefferson and Mann viewed
equality of opportunity as one of the primary aims of public schooling. Through education, Mann
hoped to ensure that all members of society (would receive) equal chances to pursue wealth and
enter any occupation or social class(Spring, 2016, p. 66). Spring contends that equality of
opportunity does not mean that everyone will have equal incomes and equal status , but that it
provides an equal chance for otherwise disadvantaged

History Of The Ghost Dance
The Ghost Dance was a sign of hope for the Native American that they truly believed in. The fact
that many of them would dance till unconscious shows the determination and faith that the Native
Americans had in the hope of being free once again. Not many citizens in this day and age have
faith as strong as the Native Americans; which, can be quite disheartening at times. It is infuriating
how the government treated civil, non threatening, cooperative human beings known as Native
Americans. In fact, those Native Americans were people that rightfully belonged to those native
lands. The general policy came across as not even seeing these people as actual human beings more
as an unwanted nuisance that could be controlled by means of arbitrary acts

The Physical Impossibility of Truth by Safa Ali
You try and avoid [death], but it s such a big thing that you can t. That s the frightening thing isn t
it? Damien Hirst says regarding his sculpture, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of
Someone Living (Hirst, 2011). Often well known for his thought provoking and rather visceral
artworks, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living mirrors the theory of
truth explored in Darren Hudson Hick s Introducing Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Art.
Among the numerous artworks of Hirst s, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of
Someone Living explores the truth regarding death and mortality. As the sculpture depicts a

  • 2. My Career Plan for next 5 year My Future Career Plans With A Free Essay Review PROMPT: My future career plans, why I want and need to study in the US at the graduate level, and how I hope to contribute to my country s democratic and economic development. My name is Levan, I m 23 years old. I was born in small city Dusheti, where i started learning. In 2000 I won the olympics in mathematics and I came to the school of physics and mathematics Comarovi in tbilisi, which I successfully graduated in 2005. I have obtained my Bachelor s Degree from the business administration faculty of the Georgian American University in Georgia in 2009. and i was the best student of the university. Through the entire 4 years of courses I acquired comprehensive knowledge in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I love Georgia, and I intend to do everything in its economic and democratic development. ________________________________________ ESSAYREVIEW You begin to respond to the prompt directly in the final two paragraphs. The penultimate paragraph, which addresses the question of why you want and need to study in the US is quite vague. The argument that U.S. education is great is rather general (and not true _in general_). If you specified that program you want to enroll in and why, you might have something more concrete and meaningful to say. Your final paragraph deals with what you intend to do on your return to Georgia. This paragraph is a little bit clearer, but not by much. It would be a good idea to specify what you mean by the management system, especially if you mean something, as you apparently do, that is applicable to both government and the private sector. The essay says next to nothing about democratic development, but knowing nothing about the program for which you are applying, I ve no idea how important that is. I suggest, in any case, expanding the last two paragraphs, with a view to making their claims more specific, and condensing the rest of the essay. Keep your sentences relatively short and simple in order to minimise the number of errors. Best, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Safe Water with Adequate Sanitation 1 Introduction Accessing safe water with adequate sanitation has been a crucial problem for billions of people around the world (1). Most of them are in the developing countries and this problem seems to increase in the following years (2). One of the renewable sources of freshwater which has sufficient sanitation is rainfall. Globally precipitation generates supply of 40000 to 45000 km3 per year (3). However, there is not a uniform rainfall for different areas of the world. Developed countries are mostly located in the temperate or tepid latitudes, hence they have more precipitation. On the other hand, developing countries have mostly arid and semi arid climates which they lack in the sufficient rainfall. Imbalance between water needs and its resources has been a crucial issue for these countries. It has been expected that by the year 2025, 34 countries most of them developing nations will experience water scarcity (2) (3). This situation is more critical in the North Africa and in the Middle East (4). In addition to the scarcity of fresh water which is a major concern, nowadays for both developed and developing countries, the quality of water has been deteriorated due to the pollution, particularly in the developing nations. The major causes of the contaminated water resources are the inadequate wastewater treatment, non optimized landfill construction, leaking from sewage systems, and unauthorized agricultural, municipal and industrial wastewater discharge into aquatic ... People gave me extreme dares just to see if I would be able to complete them. I always proved myself as the daredevil of the group. I used to take pride in the fact that I can do extreme things without feeling slightest kind of fear. This nature of being a daredevil got the best of me when I was given the task where I got into a horrible situation. I was bitten by a wild dog on my ankle. It was extremely painful and devastating. Turning up the music volume seemed to work on blocking out the noises. I finished my work and went to the kitchen to grab some water when I heard that cry again, this time it was louder and more painful. • 6. A Clean Well Lighted Place Analysis Ernest Hemingway did not write a happy, inspiring story. His story A Clean, Well Lighted Place uses a famous code of behavior to dictate what his characters say and how they act. The story is depressing, dreary, and distressing but it gets the philosophical premises across. He demonstrates to not make trouble for other people, to contain one s despair and self pity by sheer will power, and to not judge others and view the unenlightened with pity. Hemingway uses his story to propose that people should not make trouble for other people. A great example when the old, deaf man is still in the cafe. After the cafe is closed, he goes to a bar but dislikes the atmosphere, so decides to return home. He depicts it with the imagery, Now, without thinking further, he would go home to his room... After all, he said to himself, it s probably only insomnia. Many must have it. He is sad with his life so when he cannot find his desired place, clean and pleasant, he goes home instead of bothering other people. He does not force his despair onto others but keeps it inside. Using sheer will power to contain one s despair and self pity is a big aspect to Hemingway s code of behavior. Moreover, Ernest Hemingway suggests to not judge others and view the unenlightened with pity. The older waiter best portrays this with his interactions with the younger waiter. They are discussing the difference between young and old and the differences between them. The old waiter can relate more to the deaf man and says, You do not understand. This is a clean and pleasant cafe. It is well lighted. The light is very good and also, now, there are shadows of the leaves. He understands the appeal of the cafe compared to the other places opened that late. He chooses to not judge the younger one for his ignorance, but instead feels sorry for him. Furthermore, the young waiter shows his unenlightenment when he talks about the old, deaf man. He is rambling on about how he has a life, where as, the old man s is over and does not matter ... Little Miamiy Trail Research Paper The Little Miami Scenic Trail The final planned section of the Little Miami Scenic Trail opens May 1 for walking, jogging or running, biking, and in line skating. The Little Miami rail trail is a paved trail that follows the abandoned railroad route of the Little Miami Railroad from Milford (east of Cincinnati) to Springfield. For most of the trail s length, a grassy strip runs beside it for horseback riding and runners and walkers who want to feel ground below their feet!. The trail is crossed by a number of roads, but only a few blocks of the trail in Xena share the road with cars. Ample parking is provided at each end of the trail, with numerous access locations along its route. Restrooms, restaurants, and picnic facilities are also available at intervals along the trail. The Little Miami Scenic Trail is one of the best biking routes in the area, with mostly flat to rolling terrain enlivened by views of the Little Miami River, farmland, and quaint small towns. The display room featured various tables holding displays of the history of various towns, displays of history projects by young residents, and various historical antiques. The layout consisted of various isles formed by the placement of objects and stands. Four lanes ran perpendicular to the four room walls, forming a walking square, which was met on the other side with a rough square of displays. This internal square of displays had points on which to enter an internal space lined with more displays on the inside. French Woods Narrative My final night at French Woods Festival, the arts camp I attended for three summers, my bunk decided to stay up long past our curfew, sitting on the counselor s bed and reminiscing about how we had spent the prior six weeks, trying not to talk about our separation the next morning. While I sat, laughed, and cried with my surrogate familythat night, I was also doing something else; I sat by the dim flashlight, trying to quickly finish a friendship bracelet with a ballet shoe on it before morning came, so that I could give it to my favorite dance teacher. • 11. Analysis Of The Twilight Saga The Cullen Family: More than just Blood Sucking Vampires The Twilight Saga, by Stephanie Meyer, has been viewed as a narrative of either teenage lust or romantic love characterized by Bella, a private seventeen year old girl, and Edward, a mysterious vampire who goes to Bella s high school; Yet no one has credited the Cullen s in the full light they deserve, in the way that they display family loyalty, self control, and altruism among their family of vampires. The book series infatuated the hearts of teenage girls across the world, and even expanded upon those horizons to reach an audience so wide that the book series became a household name. Critics have endlessly discussed the love, or lust, of the two individuals and are fascinated by the fact that the TwilightSaga falls not just in the genre of romance, but also in the supernatural/ horror category. Maple, in an article that discusses this barrier breaking love that Bella and Edward display, states throughout the story Bella and Edward share an unorthodox relationship, a love above and beyond all others: something more expressive of eternal commitment (Maple). Maple emphasizes how deep and rare the love between the two adolescents is, and I would argue that human s innate desire for this kind of love is one of the main reasons why Twilight became so widespread. However, another basis for the obsession of the books is simply because The Cullen s, the family in which Edward belongs to, represent vampires in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How Does Orwell Use Intelligence In Animal Farm They explained that by their studies of the past three months the pigs had succeeded in reducing the principles of Animalism to Seven Commandments (Orwell 24). This passage from the book suggests that the pigs are completely in charge of Animal Farm, and they use their intelligence to create the Seven Commandments, and rule the farm This moment is the beginning of the pigs reign over AnimalFarm. Although it may look like Orwell shows the pigs using their intelligence for the well being and prosperity of Animal Farm, he is actually using techniques like simile, metaphor, and imagery, to portray that they are using their intelligence incorrectly. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink milk and eat those apples (Orwell 36). It is implied in Squealer s quote that the pigs stealing of the milk and apples can be justified, because it is for the well being of the animals. This is evidence of the pigs incorrect use of intelligence leading to corruption. In addition to this, the pigs brainwashing of the animals is evident in the character Boxer. Orwell uses imagery to depict Boxer s loyalty to Napoleon and his dullness. His two slogans, I will work harder and Napoleon is always right, seemed to him a sufficient answer to all his problems (Orwell 61). Cancers in this gland are the most common malignancies, which grow very slowly, and can have minimal effect on a man s quality of life. However, a tumor in the prostate gland can be problematic for men, especially black men, even though it is only about the size of a walnut. Researchers are still debating the cause of this disease, although certain risk factors such as age, ethnicity, culture, environment, diet, and family history, increase the chance of getting it. Prostate cancer affects African American men and early screening and detection are the key factors that can be used to prevent mortality and reduce morbidity, especially in the Brooklyn area. Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in African American men and has the highest reported mor¬tality rate, which is 2.4 times higher than in Caucasian men or any racial or ethnic group in the United States, according to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC; 2014). With Egoism we have to look at what is best for the party in charge and which decision will lead to the best outcome. With the Pete Rose case we have two parties whose ethical decisions can be evaluated, MLB and Pete Rose. Clearly Pete Rose can be ignored in the egoistic analysis, since the decision to place him in the hall of fame ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Sixth Mass Extinction Research Paper The Sixth Mass Extinction? Is the earth entering its sixth mass extinction? Many scientists think that it s very clear that we are. There have currently been five mass extinctions, and they all have a huge common factor: they happened over many, many years. Over those many years extreme amounts of species died out. Right now, approximately one third of land animals are decreasing in population numbers. This is just one factor that leads scientists to believe that we are entering, or already in, another mass extinction. So, are we in another extinction? In the past 10,500 13,000 years 77.5 percent of large mammals went extinct in North and South America. Scientists also examined a group of 177 mammals and discovered that in the past 115 years they had lost over 30 percent of their land, and 40 percent of them has decreased immensely in population. The decrease is ongoing, even within common species populations. Even though there are still high numbers of elephants, for example, there is significantly less than... Invertebrates make up about 97 percent of life on earth; approximately 30 percent of the invertebrates are at endangerment of extinction. About 51 percent of mammals are at risk of extinction. Approximately 68 percent of plant species are at risk of extinction as well. If all organisms are going through massive losses in population, how could that not be affecting biodiversity? The effects on biodiversity of this extinction will be catastrophic. If species are dying out links of the food chain and of food webs are be missing. With less species on the earth, because they are dying within this so called sixth mass extinction , the earth is getting less and less biodiverse. • 42. Jubien s Definition Of The Universe Jubien begins his argument by defining the universe as all of the physical aspects of space. With this as his foundation it is not possible for the Big bang to be the origin of the universe. As discussed in lecture, the common man denotes all this physical to being related to a first cause in an infinite chain of causes. This ideal is based on the thoughts that there was nothing before he Big Bang, and that the event itself started everything we can receive through our senses. According to Jubien s definition of the universeas containing all physical and material things, any physical cause could not be the origin of the universe because it would cause two new questions to arise. What was that event s cause? If it is even plausible, how can a physical event take place outside of the universe? Jubien would say that the origin of the universe can be answered with a simple I don t know, because there is only so far back causes can observably go before there is a lack of information available. Any physical cause of the universe can be traced to another cause, and therefore cannot be the origin of the universe. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Interview Panel On The Middle School Basketball Coaches Essay Activity Description and Summary For this activity I was responsible for being part of our interview panel to hire our middle school basketball coaches. We hired four coaches to help mentor our fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grade boys basketball teams. I was part of a three person interview panel that featured our principal, athletic director, and me. This interview process was the first time I ve been a part of hiring someone to feel a need at the school. The topic we interviewed is something I was comfortable with because I have coached basketball the past six years. I felt like I could find us the right fit and discussed the opportunity to be a part of the hiring process because of the need of this internship activity. It s hard to find an interview process during the year for teachers, but I believe coaching is a great substitute for teaching because it is an extension of the classroom. Learning how to play a sport and how you conduct yourself on the court can help you later in life. I wanted to find a candidate that could be a role model for the students and help teach them life lessons through the game of basketball. We all agreed we are looking for someone who will stress that basketball doesn t come above our education and our families. Our school has struggled with student achievement and I think sports can help motivate students to do better in the classroom. The class that best aligns with the hiring process is EL 5623. This class helped us learn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Sea Of The Cave The lush green slopes of the kelp beds had long since faded away, an ash and charcoal sand taking its place, dotted here and there by dark and gnarled husks of those who had ventured through before, and the innocent looking gray vines that had ensnared them. Swaying slightly in the current these vines looked as dead as the rest of the landscape, calm and deceptively innocent. Suddenly, the sea bed changes, a glassy surface of polished stones slope down towards a deep dark hole dominating the murky darkness ahead. In the center of this dark hole a shimmering light is barely visible. A sirens call to lure you in. It is the sea witches lair and once you have seen the light you are caught just as surely as if you got too close to the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Um, I.. When this occurs the effect goes by when the federal government asks U.S. and foreign households, business, and governments to lend them money that will cover the deficit they have created. Covering the deficit, but also has indebtedness to bondholders as well. They should be concerned with crowding out, just because the mechanism by which investment is crowded out is an increase in the interest rate. By more sales of securities, this would cause them to raise the interest rates on the bonds to even have anybody wanting to buy them. These higher interest rates on bonds are going to discourage private sectors investment and spending and these high rates causes a reduction in the growth in capital formation, which in turn slows the growth of productivity and improvement in society s living standard. Increasing the level of spending by the present generation crowds out investments and reduces the growth of capital goods, leaving those in the future generations with a smaller capital stock leaving them not to be as wealthy as they wanted to be before because this affect. • 46. Steroid Hormones Research Paper Hormones are compounds produced by the endocrine system that chemically regulate specific body functions. Steroid hormones have a biochemical unique 4 ring structure, including three 6 carbon rings and one 5 carbon ring. Androgens are steroids hormones synthesized primarily in the gonads and adrenal glands. Testosterone, the key androgen, affects sexual features and development. It maintains nitrogen balance and facilitates protein synthesis (anabolism). In men, it is made in large amounts by the Leydig cells of the testes and in women, by the ovaries. The pituitary gland in the brain secretes hormones called luteinizing hormones (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) which regulate the number of Leydig cells in the testes. Also, LH controls how much testosterone the Leydig cells produce by regulating the expression of 17 b hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Since this enzyme mediates the rate limiting step of testosterone synthesis, its inhibition can stop the synthesis of. Males synthesize 2.5 to 11mg of Testosterone a day while females produce about 0.25 mg daily. Testosterone is not water soluble; it gets through the cell s phospholipids membrane well but cannot flush easily into the bloodstream. Once synthesized, testosterone is secreted into the blood and is carried to target cells in the male reproductive organs. Most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 47. The Political Value Of Education Since the eighteenth century, there have been fractious debates about the nature and purpose of schooling in the United States of America. Thomas Jefferson, a product of classical education and Enlightenment thinking, was primarily concerned with the political value of education. For Jefferson, an educated populace was a prerequisite of a free republic. In 1779, he proposed a bill that would provide three years of publicly funded educationfor all free Americans, to prepare the citizenry to make political decisions at the ballot box (Spring, 2016, p.12). Horace Mann emphasized the social and economic value of education. He considered equality of opportunity to be the primary goal of public education. In the twenty first century, there is considerable contention regarding the mission and methodology of American public education. The halls of government serve as the nexus of debate since this is where the goals of education are politically determined (Spring, 2016, p. 3). Although they disagreed on methodology, both Jefferson and Mann viewed equality of opportunity as one of the primary aims of public schooling. Through education, Mann hoped to ensure that all members of society (would receive) equal chances to pursue wealth and enter any occupation or social class(Spring, 2016, p. 66). Spring contends that equality of opportunity does not mean that everyone will have equal incomes and equal status , but that it provides an equal chance for otherwise disadvantaged ... It is infuriating how the government treated civil, non threatening, cooperative human beings known as Native Americans.
