Persuasive Speech Outline On Mental Illness
Kaylee Gorbet Persuasive Speech Preparation Outline Destigmatizing Mental Illness Specific
Purpose: Persuade my audience to take steps to realize the truth behind mental illnesses instead
of listening to the stigmas. Central Idea: I am going to be talking about the stigmas associated
with mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma. Introduction I.There is an illness
that is different from any other illness or disease that we know of. This illness has few, if any,
outward physical symptoms. Most of the time, we cannot tell that a person has this illness just
by looking at them. The illness I am talking about is mental illness; I am able to say that I have
been affected by my father s mental illnesses. II.Today, I am going to be talking to you about the
stigmas associated with mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma.
III.Depression, generalized anxiety disorder, eating disorders, etc are more common than one
might realize, but they often go unnoticed because of these stigmas. First, I will define mental
illness and give you some statistics about mental illness. Second, I will define stigma and tell
you about the ways mentally ill people have been stigmatized both in the past and today and
why. Finally, I will tell you about some laws that attempt to decrease stigma in the work place and
offer suggestions as to how to further decrease stigma. Transition: In order to understand what
mental illness is, it is helpful to have an operational definition of the term. Body I.The National
Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) states that mental illnesses can affect persons of any age, race,
religion or income and defines mental illness as a medical condition that disrupts a person s
thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning... that often result in a
diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life. a.Using this definition, we can
conclude that mental illness is non discriminatory and is a legitimate condition that affects a
person s ability to function in their day to day life. b.The statistics on mental illness are surprising.
NAMI s website gives the following statistics on reported mental illness. Bipolar disorder or manic

Samson and the Pillars of our Faith Essay
The strongest man to walk the earth was now a symbol of fallen humanity. Once a pillar of
power and strength, he now stands weak and helpless. Once a pillar of wisdom and justice, he
now stands as a testimony of human ignorance and pride. Once a symbol of freedom, he now
stands chained to his failed passions. Once a symbolic pillar of humanity working with the divine,
he now stands as an example of the brokenness that results when we no longer put our faith and
trust in God.
Samson was a pillar of God s grace and power as long as he remained fixed on God. The moment he
took his eyes off God, Satan was able to instigate his downfall.
According to Webster s Dictionary, a pillar is a firm upright support for a building or... Show more

These pillars, that derive their meaning and strength in Jesus, characterize our dependence on the
one who sacrifice Himself on our behalf. Jesus not only gives meaning and significance to the
pillars, He is the essence and cornerstone of the pillars of our faith.
Ellen G. White states that, The cross of Christ is the central pillar on which hangs the far more
exceeding and eternal weight of glory. {Acts of the Apostle, p. 560}
We are strong, as individuals and as a church, only through His grace and as we continue in a
faithful relationship with our eyes fixed on Jesus.
It is important then that we embrace the pillars of principles and practice that God has given to His
Church and people.
Why is this important? Satan is attacking these pillars of our faith so he can weaken us and tear
down the church. He wants to destroy us.
Listen to Ellen G. White:
I have the message from God; he has sent me with great light, and there is a removing of the
landmarks, and an attempt to tear down the pillars of our faith, then a more decided effort is made
to exalt the false sabbath, and to cast contempt upon God himself by supplanting the day he has
blessed and sanctified. This false sabbath is to be enforced by an oppressive law. Satan and his
angels are wide awake and intensely active, working with energy and perseverance through human
instrumentalities to bring about his purpose of

The Abortion For A Minor
Support legislation and opposition Relating to notice of and consent to an abortion for a minor.
Abortion for minors is a major public health concern in the United States. There are more than
300,000 births to teens each year, increasing the risk of both the mother and the baby s health.
Abortions on minors have raised political, clinical, social, and economic awareness. In order to
make effective changes to abortionfor the minor one must produce empirical evidence, to evaluate
policy options for persons involved in public health policy and legislation. In January 2000, Texas
enacted a law requiring physicians to notify the parent before an abortion is done with a minor, or

The only way for minors to seek abortion without involving their parents is to petition for a
judicial bypass, from the courts. Most States are now being applying the parental involvement
of one or more parent to be notified or consent before a minor daughter legally has an abortion.
Some states require one of two types of parental involvement, which involves notifying one or
both Parent. So far about 38 states now required some type of parental involvement in a minor s
decision to have an abortion. Out of these 38 states, 21 of the states require one or both parents to
give consent to the procedure, 12 require one or both parents be notified and 5 require both
consent and notification before an elective abortion can occur. Three of these require both parents
to consent. The parental involvement laws from the Court have clarified the legal position on
abortion regulation making it difficult for a female goes for an abortion. (Guttmacher, 2013). In
Texas, the parental notification and consent laws had an effect on birth and abortion rates for
minors with notification laws reducing birth and abortion rate with the 16 17 year old females.

through public policy and initiatives. Today about thirty nine states

The Pros And Cons Of Aneuploidy Testing
Chromosome aneuploidies are common genetic defects that can lead to diseases such as Down
syndrome. Current methods of aneuploidy testing exist, primarily in the form of chorionic villus
sampling or amniocentesis. Although precise, these tests are invasive and may result in intrauterine
infection and miscarriage.
Of recent, fetal genetic material, found in maternal blood, has been used to screen for fetal
aneuploidy in high risk women. This allows a potentially safe and easy means for detecting
chromosomal abnormalities during pregnancy by means of a simple blood draw. However,
limitations of cell free DNA screening performance creates issues for expecting parents. Failure of
cell free DNA screening ranges from approximately 1% to 8% and ... Show more content on

Maternal mosaicism, undetected tumors, the vanishing twin syndrome, and confined placental
mosaicism, as well as technical errors, are possible causes of NIPS false positive results. However,
correct identification of the causes and eliminating the false positives of NIPS may improve the
PPV.
Using MPSS with GC sequence bias corrections, the authors developed a wide separation of Z
score thresholds for affected and unaffected pregnancies. Affected pregnancies had a Z score 8 and
unaffected pregnancies had a Z score 4. Further investigation led to the correct identification of the
abnormality due to maternal microduplications and global maternal copy number variation.
Although rare, these causes for NIPS false positive results could be identified using the new
detection screen and improve the PPV.
Unfortunately, the authors report that 10% of the women in the trial that received positive NIPS
results for trisomy 21 elected to terminate the pregnancies without confirmation by amniocentesis.
They remark that biological and technical issues can still account for false positive results and that
NIPS should remain a screening test

Police Brutality And Its Effects
Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia,
China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which
exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history,
minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality.
Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of
beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit
concern (Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely
publicized in the media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these
occurrences are relatively infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has
been an ongoing criticism by citizens and others of the United States police force. The term
excessive force is utilized frequently, although there is no concrete definition of this term as it
is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of force is either
appropriate or excessive depending on if the use of force is necessary and justified for the officer to
complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of deadly
force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are under imminent threat. There are many
high profile cases of the use of excessive and

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the biblical story of Joseph, who
was born in Canaan, or ancient Israel. In the musical version, he is listed as the last of the sons
of Jacob. His brothers are jealous of Joseph and when they were in the fields, they beat him up
and sold him into slavery to a group of Ishmaelites. The Ishmaelites take Joseph to Egypt, where
he first serves the house of Potiphar, one of the richest men in Egypt. He is accused of attacking
Potiphar s Wife and sent to jail. After several years in Jail, Joseph is sent to interpret the dreams
of the Pharaoh. Joseph predicted Pharaoh s dreams were a premonition about seven years of good

There is a divide between those with money and those without. Wealth bought power and
privilege, which allowed Potiphar to buy Joseph when he was sold into slavery. Wealth also
allowed for individuals like Potiphar and the Pharaoh to put people in jail on a whim. The
Narrators spoke of that ease about the Baker and Butler, Both in the doghouse for doing their
thing (Joseph, 48). Joseph was innocent of the crimes he was accused of, but it didn t matter,
because Potiphar s Wife accused him and she had the power over him. Political Environment
The patriarchy in both Canaan and Egypt holds the key to power. Jacob was allowed to bestow
powers, privileges, and gifts to those he wanted. He chose to give special treatment to Joseph
because his mother was his favorite wife. In Egypt, Pharaoh held all the power. He would get
what he wanted or else someone would pay a price. He had the power to pardon Joseph and
release him from jail. When Joseph interprets the dreams correctly and comes up with a plan for
the famine, he gains status in the ranks of Pharaoh s advisors. He can then use this power to both
help and test his brothers when they suddenly arrive one day asking for food. In the world of the
play, those with power ultimately find themselves being able to obtain a lot. Those without power
are at the mercy of those with power. There is an added stress about the difference between power
and tyranny, as bestowing benefits on those with less who worked

Hadrian s Campaign Essay
Hadrian was born in Rome on Jan. 2, 76. The event of him becoming the new emperor of
Rome raised quite a bit of suspicion. It is said that his uncle, the previous ruler, adopted Hadrian
while on his death bed. There is some suspicion about this because all the other potential heirs for
the position were all mysteriously killed leaving Hadrian to take the throne. After his uncle died,
Hadrian took over as the new emperor of Rome.
During the time Hadrian took his place as a royal, Rome was involved in the Parthian
War. This war was between many parties fighting for Parthian. Hadrian, however, decided to take
his army out of the war and back out completely. During the war, many people were killed.

Another significant event that took place during Hadrian s reign was a religious outbreak.
During his rule, Hadrian decided to restore Jerusalem. Through the process of restoring this lad
he built a temple to Jupiter. Jupiter, also known as Zeus, is the Roman god of the sky. Now this
would have been fine, but Hadrian chose to build this temple exactly where the Jewish temple

THE MORAL PRINCIPLES OF PREMARTIAL SEX
Abstract
Over many years, the views of premarital sex have been becoming increasingly more tolerant. The
whole reasoning behind why sex was created is lost in the minds of society and used for pleasure
and own physical satisfaction. There are negative consequences for these actions leading to guilt,
depression, and numbness to intimate relationships. Having strong parental influence can also
strongly affect the outcomes of adolescence and causal sex. Additionally, marriagecan be ... Show

Hence, even if there may be a motivation for casual sex because of developing one s script or
fulfilling a man s physical satisfaction and a women s intimacy in a relationship, there are the same
emotional effects and negative outcomes that result from taking part in premarital sex. An action
that was morally right would not have
THE MORAL PRINCIPLES OF PREMARTIAL SEX negative emotional and psychological
consequences, which would conclude casual sex was not intended to be done before marriage.
There is also another consequence for participating in casual sex such as disturbance in later
marriage. Sexual scripts can be written prior to marriage, providing knowledge about their own
abilities, leading to a stable marriage because they may be able to make more informed choices
concerning marriage. It is also very likely for someone to misunderstand physical intimacy with
emotional potential, leading to disruption in marriage and make worse marital choices (Kahn,
London, 1991).
How is Marriage Effected? In today s society, adolescents have a positive opinion about
cohabitation before marriage. The view of marriage as an institution has faded and cohabitation has
taken a new part of this culture (Martin, Specter, Martin, amp; Martin, 2003). It has often been
questioned whether or not premarital sexual activity causes marriages to be disrupted. According to
Teachman, Premarital sex and cohabitation has not

India s Opinion On Indian Theatre
The aim of this essay is to explore how Indian theatre has developed within Britain, society s
opinion on Indian performers in theatre and how it is now becoming more acceptable and respected
in modern day British theatre. It is very clear that ethnical established ways of thinking have always
been challenged in Indian theatreperformance for several reasons. These consist of the
disadvantages faced by the ethnic groups on the British stage, the use of Indian languages, and how
Indian Theatre is looked upon by audiences Indian and non Indian. Tara Arts Theatre Company will
be used as a case study throughout this essay.
Firstly, in the report from, The Arts Britain Ignores it is highlighted that the historical disadvantages
faced by ethnic minority arts... (were) ... lack of premises to rehearse, lack of comparable back up
that is afforded to equivalent native British groups, lack of acceptance within the arts structure
(Khan, 1976, cited in Hingorani, 2010, p. 4). From this it is apparent hat earlier on even though the
Indian theatre community were producing great plays they still had to work and overcome the
barrier of not having any help, support or encouragement from the mainstream British theatre
industries and arts councils.
These boundaries all lead up to Tara Arts Theatre Company. The birth of Tara Arts was created
when a male Asian youth called Gurdip Singh Chaggar was killed in a racial responsive attack.
This took place in London on 4 June 1976. (Hingorani, 2010,

Theme Of The Devil s Arithmetic
Guns. Pain. Blood. Tears. Regret. These words represent a mass genocide. These words represent
the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a mass genocide of the European Jewish people caused by
Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The destruction of the Jews began in Germany and eventually hatred
towards Jews was spread all over the world. Over 6 million Jewsdied in the Holocaustand
constantly people were injured. The central idea of the Holocaust was that it had a negative impact
on most people who were involved. The theme of the Holocaust is all people should be treated
fairly and humanely. During the Holocaust, Jews were treated unfairly and the genocide had a
negative impact on the people involved.
The Devil s Arithmetic portrays the theme and central idea of the Holocaust.
In The Devil s Arithmetic, a technique used is foreshadowing. Hannah, the main character says, I
m tired of remembering. I don t want to (Yolen 3). This illuminates how the book prepares to let
Hannah know how important it is to remember the Holocaust and how important it was to
remember all who had died. It is important to think about how unfair the Jewish people were
treated and how their whole lives were negatively affected. Another technique used was putting a
fictional character, Grandpa Will, who had gone slightly mad from being a part of the camps and
the Holocaust in the story to show how bad the genocide affects its victims. The book reads, Then
suddenly he d grabbed at her, screaming in Yiddish

Sectional Garage Door Essay
Sectional Garage Door
Home owners are now considering the garage door as an important element in the overall façade
of the house. Not only should a garage door be functional, it also has to look good.
There are many garage door options available. In choosing the one for your garage, you will need
to consider durability, design, maintenance and cost. A popular choice among home owners is the
sectional garage door.
What is a Sectional Garage Door?
Sectional garage doors consist of large, separate panels, which are positioned parallel to the
ceiling. They open vertically going up, suspended just under the ceiling. This type of garage door
is typically composed of up to eight sections hinged together and held in position by brackets. This
mechanism allows the door to slide up and down.

up too much vertical space when opened. The doors don t swing out when opened. Instead, they

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Sectional Garage Door
Sectional doors are considered the best option for driveways with limited spaces. You don t
have to move your car away from the garage when opening the door, as what happens when you
have an up and over type of garage door. This means you can park your vehicle close while
waiting for the garage door to open. When opened, sectional doors provide access to the entire drive
through height and width, which make them great options for garage owners with large vehicles.
This type of garage door also offers flexibility in terms of materials used. You can choose
materials that provide the functionality you need. For instance, if you want ventilation in the
garage, you can opt for panels with vents. If you prefer additional lighting, panels made of glass
can be a good

Positive And Negative Impact Of Mexico
When people think of Mexico, they may think of south of the border resorts, margaritas from local
restaurants, or mariachi bands. Drug cartels, human trafficking, or stereotypical comments made by
influential Americans may also come to mind. A country which has fought and earned its rights to
economy, religion, and democracy may not even be considered when the United Mexican States is

democracy, strong religious values, a growing albeit slowly economy, and the strongest media

The Brain Is An Ever Elusive Thing
The brain is an ever elusive thing. There are so many mysteries still waiting to be discovered or
unlocked. Memory seemed an appropriate topic for this class as it is a necessity to completing it
successfully. This research paper will explain how the brain uses synapses to store certain
memories while others may be lost and how proteins play a major role in this process and could be
the answer to solving memory problems in the future.
To start, it is important to understand how memory storage occurs. After a series of experiments
conducted from 1958 2000, by Dr. Eric R Kandel and numerous colleagues, using a radical
reductionist approach, he found evidence for several theories.
First, our research suggests that the cellular and molecular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Based on his first conclusion, when it comes to short term memories, synaptic connections in the
brain are modified by small changes in proteins. Long term memories require that new proteins be
formed, gene expression be stimulated and new connections be synthesized. Implicit memory is a
type of memory in which previous experiences aid the performance of a task without conscious
awareness of these previous experiences. Explicit memory is the conscious, intentional recollection
of previous experiences and information. Storing of implicit and explicit memories can follow
different processes. Different signaling is necessary when storing implicit memories vs. explicit
memories in the short term. However, the storage of implicit and explicit memories in the long
term, follows the same specific signaling pathway.
Based on his second conclusion, different modularity transmitters are used depending on which
type of learning you are engaged in. These transmitters act in several different ways. They can either
activate, regulate, or mediate. If they activate, they trigger the enzyme kinase, which then reports to
the nucleus to aid in the growth of neurons and long term memory. If they regulate, they monitor
protein synthesis that is required in order to stabilize the synapses for long term storage. Finally,
mediation is the least understood process. What is known, is that it is necessary in recollecting
specific memories and memory production.

Women Should Not Fly Commercial Or Private
After starting flight lessons and seeking a pilots license one of the researchers became aware of
the ridicule and negative perceptions that women face in the field aviation. Chances are that when
you fly commercial or private that you will not be flying with a female pilot in command. Aviation
is a field that continues to be a males career with females making up only five percent of the
industry (Goyer, 2016). This particular area tends to focus on being a male s career choice and
lacking in the advancements for women. Different stereotypes, genderroles, and opinions are all
factors in determining a good pilot. Although women have proven their worth and ability,
prejudices such as women should not fly and a woman in the cockpit is one less in the kitchen are
still evident.
Given the importance of the topic at hand, it is necessary to better understand why negative ideas
exist. Although women have made advances in the field in the past, it has become stagnant within
the last decade. This study is to be done during a years length where researchers will interview
Certified Flight Instructors (CFI) with more than 200 flight time hours, Pilots in training (PIT) and
those of private and commercial license holders. This study will entail extensive interviews, and
incorporate flight simulation. Researchers will look at entry level pilots and compare it those upon
completing school.
Women often think of flying as dangerous and challenging therefore making it more of a man s

Movies As A Significant Role In The Entertainment Industry
According to Barbra Dozier s blog, movies play a significant role in the entertainment industry.
They are appealing to the viewer s eyes and ears because they combine both video and audio and
they can be watched at home, in theatres, and thanks to the latest technology one can even watch
movies on the go. Just like many individuals, I too spend my time watching movies as a form of
entertainment. The latest one I watched and enjoyed was a comedy named The House. Although
the movie may have had mediocre reviews, The House was still funny and enjoyable to watch.
The plot and conflict revolve around two struggling parents who cannot afford to send their sure
to succeed daughter to college after the town s scholarship program no longer had funding. As
result the parents and a friend started an illegal underground casino in his domicile in order to
make money before the time to pay their daughter s tuition came around. The rated R movie
directed by Andrew Jay Cohen contains many well known actors such as Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler,
and Jason Mantzoukas.
Although there were well known actors the movie revolved around three. Will Ferrell an American
actor and comedian known for playing the elf in Elf ,played the father Scott Johansen. Amy
Poehler plays Kate Johansen the mother and wife in the movie. Known for her role in the sitcom
Parks of Recreation, Poehler brings some of her comical characteristics to the movie making The
House much more enjoyable to watch. Jason Mantzoukas,

In this written assignment, I will be accepting the role of a marketing manager that will select a
product (good or service) that s sold in the United States and has sales opportunities in a foreign
market. The product I have chosen is Oreo s, are the world s favorite cookie. Throughout this
assignment, I will apply my critical thinking skills and the knowledge I have attained throughout
this course to the product that I have chosen.
The first steps in marketing are putting the right product out at the right price and the right time.

In order for me to apply the STP approach in the American and foreign market is first I will have
to determine which types of customers exist, select which ones we would be able to serve best,
and then implement our segmentation by improving our cookies for that segment and show that
we made the choice to stand out and remain rare. The primary segment is one for who the
product is designed for, maximum revenue will come from the primary target market. These
customers that share common characteristics and behaviors account for the highest capacity of
sales and are most likely to buy now. The positioning of Oreo cookie is tempting to kids and
teenagers they are the highest consumers of cookies. The secondary market is future primary
buyers, persons buying at a high rate in a small segment and people who influence primary buyers.
However their characteristics and buying behaviors usually are different from those of the primary
market. For example this would be the persons that live a fast passed life style like adults, and
working parents, and grandparents. In order s to implement our target, we must begin positioning
by choosing what image the company would like to portray to our consumers. One way is for the
company to maintain a strong competitive advantage.

Pain into Beauty Essay
Pain into Beauty
People look back on their childhoods in different ways. Some see it as a time of joy and
laughter, love and learning. Many feel a bittersweet mixture of happy nostalgia, and painful
moments. Some prefer not to look back at all, seeking only to move forward. Then there are
people like me, who look back in anger, bitterness, and sorrow. It seems that few people enjoy a pain
free upbringing. In fact, the very idea of childhood is a fairly new concept. In the early part of the
last century, children were considered miniature adults, and were expected to act that way. Abuse,
as defined today, was ignored and sometimes encouraged. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Today,
abuse is carefully defined and is illegal, but many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

We moved to Denver, Colorado during my first year of life, into a duplex. It was a very small
house, painted a deep blue. It is in this house that my best memories were made. They are of
course very hazy, as I was only three or four, but there are no unhappy times at this point. I was the
only child in my immediate family, and so was doted upon by every auntie and uncle, by every

At the age of five I was a vibrant, joyful ball of energy. Everything was an adventure, even

time it struck my step mother. Her mother had been battling lung cancer, and she could no longer

Material Analysis of the Internal Combustion Engine
Background : The foundry is one of the oldest metal working industries known to man. The
Egyptians made metal castings as early as 4000 B.C. Foundry methods have been employed
throughout the ages as being the most convenient means for making implements of war,
artifacts used in everyday living, agricultural implements, and other items. Traditionally,
Gasoline engine blocks were made up of cast iron because cast iron was readily available and
cheaper and has a good machinability. But as the technology advances and there is a need of
improvising the basic design of an engine to improve its performance. Moreover, the overall
weight of the engine increased due to complex design of the body. Therefore, in order to overcome
this problems, the manufacturers around the world started looking for other materials which are as
strong as cast iron but should be light in weight. Therefore, aluminum was being used in building
engine blocks which significantly increases vehicle performance and also lower its weight. Now a
days magnesium is also used as a material for designing engine block. Magnesium is much lighter
than cast iron and aluminum as well. But the main problem in using magnesium was that it became
unstable at higher temperature. Later that problem was solved but still wide range of Al and Mg
alloys are being used in the automotive industry in the current scenario. According to a study, 90%
of automobiles in North American countries are using aluminum for engine block which is

The Use of Biometrics
There have been use of Biometrics which can be traced as far back to 500 BC, but where does its
future lay in the 21st century and beyond? Exactly what is Biometrics and its proposed
applications; will it truly be as useful or will it be a hindrance? Currently, which nations along with
the international corporations are in the market for such a medium and who are the pioneers, trying
to advance Biometrics; into something more streamlined? Will Biometrics truly have as much of
an impact on the digital industry as predicted? Or is it all hype? Lastly, what are the advantages
and disadvantages when applying Biometrics in today s world?
What do we define as biometrics, is it something which can be emulated by another being or is it
absolutely unique to one s self that it can never be copied and disturbed for others to use? By
definition, Biometrics is derived from the Greek words bio meaning life and metrics meaning to
measure. By today s standards, Biometrics uses cutting edge technologies to identify terrorists and
criminals. (Nadeau) Many revolutionary ideas regarding Biometrics have been based on ideas
which were originally conceived hundreds, maybe even thousands of years ago. Since the early
days of man, we have been practicing to distinguish other humans based on intrinsic physical or
behavioral traits. Early Babylonian and Chinese merchants kept records of: fingerprints, palm

One thing that the company may face is fraud and in order to reduce fraud, management has to
create and build policies to address those specific risks. Strengths and Recommendations Since
LJB Company is relatively small, they have an advantage over their competitors who are large
companies. Being a small company due to its size of employees, one of the things they are doing
right is being able to set expectations and implement those within the organization. As a smaller
company, the accountant s decision to switch to pre numbered invoices and the purchase of an
indelible ink machine was a good idea and investment. The pre numbered invoices will prevent
transactions from being recorded multiple times. With the internal control system this will require
that the employees forward their source documents for the accounting entries. The indelible ink
machine will help organize all of the accounting duties. We recommended that LJB Company
purchase an indelible ink machine to print all employees and cut checks. With the indelible ink
machine this will make it difficult for unauthorized users to endorse checks and be approved. This
will cut down on fraud and theft within the company. Violations LJB Company is very susceptible
to fraud due the weaknesses and threats presented in the day to day operations. The type of threats
include: no human resource control, lack of cash control, and no duties defined for each individual.

Ictober Research Papers
The ink left nothing untouched, staining and smudging the table, scratch paper, and even my

Most of my pieces consisted of fanart or simple original pieces exploring inking styles. I
admittedly favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration.
Some drawings I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others
I tested styles of shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to
detailed inking was a fulfilling experience.
I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day
in pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of
drawing is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the
leniency of my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work
started picking up at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day s
drawing, not to mention preparing for the following days.
The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for
tests, in class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge.
Not only do you have to plan and compose a drawing, but you have to manage your schedule and
make time to do so. Unlike professional artists or people with flexible jobs, students are hard

Essay On Signs Of A Hidden Mice Infestation
Signs Your Home Is Infested With Mice And How An Inspection Helps Get Rid Of Them You
can have an infestation of mice in your home and never see one of the creatures darting around,
but they will leave clues. If you do see the mice, especially during the daytime, that could
indicate you have a particularly bad infestation. Whether you ve seen mice or not, you should
take steps to eliminate them since they are unsanitary pests. Start with an inspection by a rodent
professional. Here s when to suspect you have a mouse problem and why having a professional
inspection is important. Signs Of A Hidden Mice Infestation Mice are usually most active at night
when activity in your home has settled down. When your home is otherwise quiet, you may hear
their claws scraping inside the walls as they scurry around. They might make chirping or
squeaking noises. You can even hear them gnawing on wood or other objects. Noises may come
from the attic, behind walls, inside the cupboards, or behind the refrigerator. If the mice are
particularly active, you may hear them knock things off shelves and tables as they hunt for food.
Besides unusual sounds, bad odors are another indicator of a mice infestation. You... Show more

This is vital because their entry points must be sealed or the mice will keep coming back.
Another part of the inspection is to look for mice droppings and signs of damage. This helps the
inspector determine if the rodent is a mouse or rat and how many animals could be present. The
inspection will include walking around the perimeter of your home looking for signs of activity
where the mice enter as well as inspecting the inside of your home in secluded areas such as inside
cabinets and in the attic. With all the information gained during an inspection, the pest control
company can devise an effective means of eliminating the mice from your

The And Treatment Of The Poor Vs. The United States
An analysis of the documents pertaining to colonial Wethersfield, Connecticut (1750s 1780s)
revealed that Document N accurately characterizes the time period. The three main ideas found in
Document N are ascribed to the treatment of the poor vs. the treatment of the rich, the amount of
power both political and religious held by Congressionalists, and the presence of religion in the
law. In order to further understand the document and fully grasp these ideas, aspects of the time
period had to be examined. Two very important aspects of this period were religion and politics.
Like the other colonies, colonial Wethersfield held religion in high esteem. In examining the
documents, it was easy to see how heavily religion influenced the law.... Show more content on

Documents B and C represent the distribution of taxable property (Document B) as well as the
distribution of land holdings (Document C) that took place in 1756 and 1773. In a letter written by
Silas Deane, a Wethersfield merchant and Connecticut delegate to the First Continental Congress,
to Patrick Henry, a Virginia delegate to the First Continental Congress, on January 2, 1775, Silas
wrote: [The Connecticut man s] first principle is to possess a disencumbered freehold, be it ever
so small, in preference to the largest under quit rents and landlords...for a Connecticut farmer
with two hundred and fifty or three hundred acres of good land, is a rich man, that is, as rich as
he wishes to be (Document F). In that letter, Silas Deane asked Patrick Henry to grant
permission to a group of Connecticut settlers and allow them to travel to an Ohio settlement in
hopes of procuring the land. By interpreting the above quote, it s easy to visualize the colonial
belief that to own a piece of land, even a small one, provides a greater sense of accomplishment
than living on a larger property owned by someone else. Document N originates from the General
History of Connecticut, a book published by Reverend Samuel Peters in 1781. It was notorious for
the uncomplimentary ways in which the colonists were depicted, as well as the distortion of the
Connecticut Blue Laws, a term used to describe the laws regulating

Ethnographic Analysis Of Discipleship Plan
Introduction Discerning the mission of God, for a congregation in a particular community, is one
of the most important tasks of the church. Through discernment a congregation can come to
understand how God is calling them to faithfully participate in the inbreaking of the Kingdom of
God in a particular place and around the world. The following is a comprehensive study of Lansing
Woodview Church of the Nazarene including a detailed ethnography, a sermon series, discipleship

Women s Roles In Canada During World War I
From the beginning of Canadian history, women have assumed a great amount of responsibility in
the participation in defense of their homes and communities (Chenier). Before WWI, the majority
of women outside the working class did not work due to the natural assumption as the motherly
figure and caretaker of the family. As Canada entered the war, the men of the households embarked
for the front while the women were forced to undertake numerous responsibilities. Women were
required to substitute for the role of men in their communities by engaging in employment typically
associated with the opposite sex and supporting them from afar while managing their family and
home. Thus the circumstances of Canada during WWI have immensely shaped the gender... Show

Suffrage movements had been gaining strength since the turn of the century (Anderson). The
movements was hampered by the years of war as women believed that the focus of supporting
their family and economy should be maintained. Afterwards, when the war ended, the gaps left by
men then filled by women were returned to men. Women were expected to reinstate the role of
housewife. Such women who worked during the war on the home front began to campaign for
equal rights, such as the right to work the same occupations as men and receive equal pay as well
as the right to vote. Some women in the war were even content with their duties because they had
more rights, and the freedom to make their own decisions (Sungrab, Tenzin. Women s Rights

continuing role of women, taking the opportunity to raise a number of political issues, including

Feminist in Susan GlaspellВґs Play Trifles
Trifles In Susan Glaspell s play Trifles a man has been murdered by his wife, but the men of the
town who are in charge of investigating the crime are unable solve the murder mystery through
logic and standard criminal procedures. Instead, two women (Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters) who
visit the home are able to read a series of clues that the men cannot see because all of the clues are
embedded in domestic items that are specific to women. The play at first it seems to be about
mystery, but it abruptly grows into a feminist perspective. The play Trifleswritten by Susan
Glaspell can be considered a revolutionary writing in it its advocacy of the feminist movement.

What Bailey McDaniel meant by this is that women couldn t speak their ideas and how it was
frustrating for them. Like in the play, the women were trying to help the men, but the men
clearly didn t want their help or they just make fun of them, as a result, the women took matters
in their own hands. Not only does the title have symbolic meaning but also the names of the
female characters are also symbolic. Susan Glaspell purposely hid the names of the female
characters to symbolize that they don t have an identity. Only the men receive a first name in
Trifles, while the play refers to the women by their husbands last names. The role that society
has cast them in is one that is defined by their husbands. This shows how women were oppressed
by not allowing them to have their own names unless they were called by their husband s last
name. Susan Glaspell gives good examples in how their marital status changes the female
characters s names. In the play Mrs. Hale says: ... I heard she used to wear pretty clothes and be
lively, when she was Minnie Foster... (1972). The reader can see how the name changes according
to her marital status, and how she was unhappy probably because she was being oppressed by her
husband. In The Trifles of Feminism Christina McLure really makes a good point in that Mr.
Wright always tried to

The Importance of the Central Female Charater in William...
In his poem Nurse s Song, which can be found both in Songs of Experience and Songs of
Innocence, William Blake uses a central female character to make a significant political and
social point. These poems are different versions of the story of a nurse. In Songs of Innocence,
that nurse is seen in one way, and the poem continues in Songs of Experience to show a
significant change in the nurse. She begins as one who is wide eyed and trusting of the world, but
by the end, she has come to be quite jaded. In some respects, she has become tired and beaten
down by the world. By using this character, Blake makes a statement about the difficulty of the
movement for female rights. He argues through her changes that in the process of fighting for...

What this can tell us is that at the beginning of a revolution, a person might be tempted to think that
the world is fair. The children will not run into any trouble because, to the nurse, things work out the
way that they should. Some might look at this as naГЇve, but Blake recognizes that this kind of
childlike innocence is an important part of any revolution. Blake does not simply stop with
describing the nurse as a person who sees the world as inherently fair. In order to make his ultimate
point, Blake has to show the development of that nurse from a person with naГЇve exuberance to a
person who has been withered by experience. This is why, when the reader sees the nurse again
in Songs of Experience, they see a completely different picture. Then, she is no longer willing to
give the children a pass, and she no longer sees the children s play as being a positive, innocent
thing. Instead, in this particular poem, the nurse is one who has been hardened and withered by
age and experience. In the poem, Blake writes, When the voices of children are heard on the
green And whisp rings are in the dale, The days of my youth rise fresh in my mind, My face turns
green and pale (Blake). In this particular passage, one can see the nurse reflecting on her own
experience. More important, however, is the way she remembers it. When she says that her face
turns green and pale, she is discussing the reality that she becomes sick

Joan of Arc Essay
Joan of Arc In the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City the painting Joan of Arc by
Jules Bastien Lepage hangs in the B. Gerald Cantor Sculpture Gallery. This Piece is rather large
and was done with oil paint on canvas, its dimensions being approximately eight feet tall with a
width of ten feet. When walking toward Bastien Lapage s painting, it s size and realism grabs one
s attention, and then holds it while this scene of Joan of Arc seems to take place right before one s
eyes. The corridor where the painting is displayed is part of the museums permanent collection. The

St. Michael is positioned perfectly upright with a majestic look as he is holding a sword away
from his body horizontally with both hands. His body is covered with a golden body suit of
armor except for his head, which is turned toward Joan and has a full halo behind it. Margaret
and Catherine are both wearing white silky and flowing veils on their heads. There are white
flowers in their hair, and both have golden circles over their heads as halos. Their dresses are
also flowing and painted with light pink and blue. Margaret is positioned upright, her hands
clasped by her chest, and her head to the side looking towards Joan, while Catherine is bent over
with her head facing down and both hands over her face.
Bastien Lepage showed his ability for capturing the naturalistic look of Joan, but he did not use
this ability to its full extent with the saints. The colors used on the saints are not quite as vivid as
with Joan. Michael s golden body armor and silver sword are not really shining at all, and all three
halos seem to be placed there without any real signs of glowing. The shadowing and detail work in
their clothing and skin are also not quite as life like as Joan. All together the three images of these
saints appear to be somewhat hazy.
The rest of the painting is a landscape of Joan s garden with the back wall of her house in the
distance, and in front of the saints is a stool

The Impact of Groups Such as The Beatles on the Nineteen Sixties
Groups such as the Beatles effected British society in many ways in the period of the 1960 s. The
course of the Beatles came in 3 distinct phases between 1962 and 1968.
The Beatles were an all male quartet from the North West working class city of Liverpool. John
Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney would set about changing popular music
forever.
The Beatles had many musical influences ranging from Elvis Pressley to Chuck Berry. There
performances were famed for being long and amazing on some occasions it was known that they
continued to play non stop for 8 hours.
Much of there early music could be heard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both gifted with exceptional song writing ability and the group had been blessed with arguably two
of the greatest song writers ever known.
They also appeared on the scene in the UK at just the right time, television was just launching to
a mass audience and that made it possible for the publicity that the lads required to become all
the more easier to create. This was an advantage on any bands before them because now, people
in places away from Liverpool where they were based could see what they were like and enjoy their
music.
The music that Lennon and McCartney were writing in the years between 62 and 64 was inclusive
to all section of British society. Nobody would feel left out by the topics that they sung about or the
style in which they sang them.
Also emerging at a similar time were a group known as The Rolling Stones who s first number
one hit was written by Lennon and McCartney, had the pair not wrote this for them and gave them
the early push they needed it is possible that we would never have heard of the likes of Mick Jagger.
The Beatles caused many parts of British society to begin to change, they literally changed both the
style and image of popular music. They were seen as both the catalyst and the innovators.
The first thing the group did was to make it cool to be a British working class person with a

Italian Food Importance
The Importance of Food in Italy Italy is a country vast in history, amazing architecture, historical
ruins, stunning scenery, fabulous food and more. Traditions rule throughout the years. One of the
traditions is the food they make and how it is passed down from generations. The relationships
Italians have with their family are very strong and it is important to them to pass down their
traditions and recipes. Food has a strong social aspect with the Italians. It is important for them to
get together to cook and share meals. In Italy, Italian food is a big part of their culture. Some four
million Italians came to America, largely from the south of Italy and the island of Sicily. People
that come to America carry along the tastes and sometimes also the seeds, recipes and ingredients of
their homes. What the world today knows as pizza is the product of a long history of changing
connections between Italy and the Americas and between both countries and the entire world. It is
a history of travel, tourism, migration, agriculture, industry, commerce and creativity in the kitchen.
(Pizza, pastaand red sauce: Italian or American). More Italians have migrated to the United States
than any other
Europeans. They had a long history of migrating to foreign countries as a way of coping with
poverty and dislocation. The earliest Italian immigrants to the United States were northern
Italians, who became prominent as fruit and food merchants in New York and winegrowers in
California.

Impact Of Immigration Reform In The 1920s-1960s
The period of 1920 1970 represented a period of numerous competing immigration policies and a
major debate about whether or not to reform immigration. Eventually, the reformers won the debate
and the immigration reform that happened during the 1920s 1960s were consistent with American
identity. Specifically, the reframing Asians as model minorities, the immigration reform policies
that happened, and the allowance of Mexican immigration into the U.S shifted American identity,
from as an all white country to a multicultural society, from restrictive on immigration to expansive
on immigration and finally from a restrictive country to a more democratic country.
The immigration reform policies that happened during the 1920s 1960s shifted American identity
for several reasons. First, according to the article Strangers in Cold War America: The Modern
Presidency, Committee Barons and Postwar Immigration Politics by Daniel J Tiechnor, pro
immigration activists advocated that America no longer exclude Chinese immigrants and offer
them 100 visa slots. ( Tiechnor, 177). Therefore, America is perceived to be diverse in this manner
by no longer excluding Chinese. This action shifted American identity from an all white country to
a diverse country. Furthermore, the immigration reformers such as Truman wanted to reform
immigration policy to abide by the Black Civil Rights movement because it is important to
achieving world peace and it would be consistent with the vision of a democratic

Psychoactive Drug Addiction
A narrow definition of the term addiction refers to habitual psychological and physiological
dependence on a substance beyond one s voluntary control. Terms such as workaholic, sex addict,
and computer junkie arose to describe behaviors that have features in common with alcoholism and
other substance addictions. Substance addictionis a multi pronged system in which lifestyle has a
role but the biology of a person s body is a major factor. These substances, which are called
psychoactive drugs, are what people become addicted to and are described as chemicals that affect
mental processes and behavior by temporarily changing perception and awareness. There are many

Once GAMA is attach to the receptor sites on the protein neurons then the channel is opened and
the chloride flow freely. Allowing these negatively charged chloride ions to flow into cells causes
neurons to become less active and pulse less therefore the brain is sending and receiving fewer
neurotransmitters (McKim 158). As talked about earlier, different drugs influence each of these
neurotransmitters differently. Each psychoactive drug has different effects on the body and
different uses. The term psychoactive describes a substance that affects the central nervous
system (the brain and spinal cord), producing changes in a person s mental activity or behavior.
Psychoactive drugs may affect the way an individual thinks, behaves, and analyzes. Many popular
and widely used substances are psychoactive such as alcohol. Many Doctors prescribe
psychoactive drugs for different reasons. Among the most important medical uses are as anesthesia
for surgery and as analgesics (painkillers). Dangerous psychoactive drugs are believed to have
little or no medical benefit, so are used illegally for recreational purposes including altering
consciousness, improving performance, and improving mood. When drugs are used for these
purposes it can eventually lead to addiction.
There are 4 main categories which all psychoactive drugs fall under. These categories consist of the
following hallucinogens, stimulants, depressants, and opiates. Hallucinogens can cause people to

  • 2. Persuasive Speech Outline On Mental Illness Kaylee Gorbet Persuasive Speech Preparation Outline Destigmatizing Mental Illness Specific Purpose: Persuade my audience to take steps to realize the truth behind mental illnesses instead of listening to the stigmas. Central Idea: I am going to be talking about the stigmas associated with mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma. Introduction I.There is an illness that is different from any other illness or disease that we know of. This illness has few, if any, outward physical symptoms. Most of the time, we cannot tell that a person has this illness just by looking at them. The illness I am talking about is mental illness; I am able to say that I have been affected by my father s mental illnesses. II.Today, I am going to be talking to you about the stigmas associated with mental illness and what we can do to decrease this stigma. III.Depression, generalized anxiety disorder, eating disorders, etc are more common than one might realize, but they often go unnoticed because of these stigmas. First, I will define mental illness and give you some statistics about mental illness. Second, I will define stigma and tell you about the ways mentally ill people have been stigmatized both in the past and today and why. Finally, I will tell you about some laws that attempt to decrease stigma in the work place and offer suggestions as to how to further decrease stigma. Transition: In order to understand what mental illness is, it is helpful to have an operational definition of the term. Body I.The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) states that mental illnesses can affect persons of any age, race, religion or income and defines mental illness as a medical condition that disrupts a person s thinking, feeling, mood, ability to relate to others and daily functioning... that often result in a diminished capacity for coping with the ordinary demands of life. a.Using this definition, we can conclude that mental illness is non discriminatory and is a legitimate condition that affects a person s ability to function in their day to day life. b.The statistics on mental illness are surprising. NAMI s website gives the following statistics on reported mental illness. Bipolar disorder or manic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Samson and the Pillars of our Faith Essay The strongest man to walk the earth was now a symbol of fallen humanity. Once a pillar of power and strength, he now stands weak and helpless. Once a pillar of wisdom and justice, he now stands as a testimony of human ignorance and pride. Once a symbol of freedom, he now stands chained to his failed passions. Once a symbolic pillar of humanity working with the divine, he now stands as an example of the brokenness that results when we no longer put our faith and trust in God. Samson was a pillar of God s grace and power as long as he remained fixed on God. The moment he took his eyes off God, Satan was able to instigate his downfall. According to Webster s Dictionary, a pillar is a firm upright support for a building or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These pillars, that derive their meaning and strength in Jesus, characterize our dependence on the one who sacrifice Himself on our behalf. Jesus not only gives meaning and significance to the pillars, He is the essence and cornerstone of the pillars of our faith. Ellen G. White states that, The cross of Christ is the central pillar on which hangs the far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. {Acts of the Apostle, p. 560} We are strong, as individuals and as a church, only through His grace and as we continue in a faithful relationship with our eyes fixed on Jesus. It is important then that we embrace the pillars of principles and practice that God has given to His Church and people. Why is this important? Satan is attacking these pillars of our faith so he can weaken us and tear down the church. He wants to destroy us. Listen to Ellen G. White: I have the message from God; he has sent me with great light, and there is a removing of the landmarks, and an attempt to tear down the pillars of our faith, then a more decided effort is made to exalt the false sabbath, and to cast contempt upon God himself by supplanting the day he has blessed and sanctified. This false sabbath is to be enforced by an oppressive law. Satan and his angels are wide awake and intensely active, working with energy and perseverance through human instrumentalities to bring about his purpose of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Abortion For A Minor Support legislation and opposition Relating to notice of and consent to an abortion for a minor. Abortion for minors is a major public health concern in the United States. There are more than 300,000 births to teens each year, increasing the risk of both the mother and the baby s health. Abortions on minors have raised political, clinical, social, and economic awareness. In order to make effective changes to abortionfor the minor one must produce empirical evidence, to evaluate policy options for persons involved in public health policy and legislation. In January 2000, Texas enacted a law requiring physicians to notify the parent before an abortion is done with a minor, or notifies at least one parent of the intent to terminate the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only way for minors to seek abortion without involving their parents is to petition for a judicial bypass, from the courts. Most States are now being applying the parental involvement of one or more parent to be notified or consent before a minor daughter legally has an abortion. Some states require one of two types of parental involvement, which involves notifying one or both Parent. So far about 38 states now required some type of parental involvement in a minor s decision to have an abortion. Out of these 38 states, 21 of the states require one or both parents to give consent to the procedure, 12 require one or both parents be notified and 5 require both consent and notification before an elective abortion can occur. Three of these require both parents to consent. The parental involvement laws from the Court have clarified the legal position on abortion regulation making it difficult for a female goes for an abortion. (Guttmacher, 2013). In Texas, the parental notification and consent laws had an effect on birth and abortion rates for minors with notification laws reducing birth and abortion rate with the 16 17 year old females. • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Aneuploidy Testing Chromosome aneuploidies are common genetic defects that can lead to diseases such as Down syndrome. Current methods of aneuploidy testing exist, primarily in the form of chorionic villus sampling or amniocentesis. Although precise, these tests are invasive and may result in intrauterine infection and miscarriage. Of recent, fetal genetic material, found in maternal blood, has been used to screen for fetal aneuploidy in high risk women. This allows a potentially safe and easy means for detecting chromosomal abnormalities during pregnancy by means of a simple blood draw. However, limitations of cell free DNA screening performance creates issues for expecting parents. Failure of cell free DNA screening ranges from approximately 1% to 8% and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Maternal mosaicism, undetected tumors, the vanishing twin syndrome, and confined placental mosaicism, as well as technical errors, are possible causes of NIPS false positive results. However, correct identification of the causes and eliminating the false positives of NIPS may improve the PPV. Using MPSS with GC sequence bias corrections, the authors developed a wide separation of Z score thresholds for affected and unaffected pregnancies. Affected pregnancies had a Z score 8 and unaffected pregnancies had a Z score 4. Further investigation led to the correct identification of the abnormality due to maternal microduplications and global maternal copy number variation. Although rare, these causes for NIPS false positive results could be identified using the new detection screen and improve the PPV. Unfortunately, the authors report that 10% of the women in the trial that received positive NIPS results for trisomy 21 elected to terminate the pregnancies without confirmation by amniocentesis. They remark that biological and technical issues can still account for false positive results and that NIPS should remain a screening test ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Police Brutality And Its Effects Police brutality is a phenomena that is documented throughout a myriad of societies from Russia, China, Indonesia, Palestine, Egypt to the United States. Police brutality is the use of force which exceeds what is needed in order to accomplish a legal police purpose.Throughout America s history, minorities, specifically Black people, have been the disproportionate target of policebrutality. Amnesty International has documented several examples of police brutality, including instances of beatings, unjustified shootings, and excessively forceful detention methods which merit concern (Amnesty 1999).The pervasiveness of police shootings of citizens has been widely publicized in the media and stresses the fact that this is a national problem. While these occurrences are relatively infrequent the lack of any solution or way to minimize brutality has been an ongoing criticism by citizens and others of the United States police force. The term excessive force is utilized frequently, although there is no concrete definition of this term as it is subjective (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of force is either appropriate or excessive depending on if the use of force is necessary and justified for the officer to complete his job (Police Use of Excessive Force in Minority Communities). The use of deadly force is justified by law if the officer feels he or others are under imminent threat. There are many high profile cases of the use of excessive and ... • 7. Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is based on the biblical story of Joseph, who was born in Canaan, or ancient Israel. In the musical version, he is listed as the last of the sons of Jacob. His brothers are jealous of Joseph and when they were in the fields, they beat him up and sold him into slavery to a group of Ishmaelites. The Ishmaelites take Joseph to Egypt, where he first serves the house of Potiphar, one of the richest men in Egypt. He is accused of attacking Potiphar s Wife and sent to jail. After several years in Jail, Joseph is sent to interpret the dreams of the Pharaoh. There is a divide between those with money and those without. Wealth bought power and privilege, which allowed Potiphar to buy Joseph when he was sold into slavery. Wealth also allowed for individuals like Potiphar and the Pharaoh to put people in jail on a whim. The Narrators spoke of that ease about the Baker and Butler, Both in the doghouse for doing their thing (Joseph, 48). Joseph was innocent of the crimes he was accused of, but it didn t matter, because Potiphar s Wife accused him and she had the power over him. Political Environment The patriarchy in both Canaan and Egypt holds the key to power. Jacob was allowed to bestow powers, privileges, and gifts to those he wanted. He chose to give special treatment to Joseph because his mother was his favorite wife. In Egypt, Pharaoh held all the power. He would get what he wanted or else someone would pay a price. He had the power to pardon Joseph and release him from jail. When Joseph interprets the dreams correctly and comes up with a plan for the famine, he gains status in the ranks of Pharaoh s advisors. He can then use this power to both help and test his brothers when they suddenly arrive one day asking for food. In the world of the play, those with power ultimately find themselves being able to obtain a lot. Those without power are at the mercy of those with power. There is an added stress about the difference between power and tyranny, as bestowing benefits on those with less who worked ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is said that his uncle, the previous ruler, adopted Hadrian while on his death bed. There is some suspicion about this because all the other potential heirs for the position were all mysteriously killed leaving Hadrian to take the throne. After his uncle died, Hadrian took over as the new emperor of Rome. During the time Hadrian took his place as a royal, Rome was involved in the Parthian War. This war was between many parties fighting for Parthian. Hadrian, however, decided to take his army out of the war and back out completely. During the war, many people were killed. Another significant event that took place during Hadrian s reign was a religious outbreak. During his rule, Hadrian decided to restore Jerusalem. Through the process of restoring this lad he built a temple to Jupiter. Jupiter, also known as Zeus, is the Roman god of the sky. Now this would have been fine, but Hadrian chose to build this temple exactly where the Jewish temple once stood. This is the reason for the Jewish outbreak. The Jewish outbreak lasted for three and a half years with more than half a million people dead. Overall Hadrian did not have much class when running the Roman empire. The whole reasoning behind why sex was created is lost in the minds of society and used for pleasure and own physical satisfaction. An action that was morally right would not have THE MORAL PRINCIPLES OF PREMARTIAL SEX negative emotional and psychological consequences, which would conclude casual sex was not intended to be done before marriage. There is also another consequence for participating in casual sex such as disturbance in later marriage. Sexual scripts can be written prior to marriage, providing knowledge about their own abilities, leading to a stable marriage because they may be able to make more informed choices concerning marriage. It is also very likely for someone to misunderstand physical intimacy with emotional potential, leading to disruption in marriage and make worse marital choices (Kahn, London, 1991). How is Marriage Effected? In today s society, adolescents have a positive opinion about cohabitation before marriage. The view of marriage as an institution has faded and cohabitation has taken a new part of this culture (Martin, Specter, Martin, amp; Martin, 2003). • 13. India s Opinion On Indian Theatre The aim of this essay is to explore how Indian theatre has developed within Britain, society s opinion on Indian performers in theatre and how it is now becoming more acceptable and respected in modern day British theatre. It is very clear that ethnical established ways of thinking have always been challenged in Indian theatreperformance for several reasons. These consist of the disadvantages faced by the ethnic groups on the British stage, the use of Indian languages, and how Indian Theatre is looked upon by audiences Indian and non Indian. Tara Arts Theatre Company will be used as a case study throughout this essay. Firstly, in the report from, The Arts Britain Ignores it is highlighted that the historical disadvantages faced by ethnic minority arts... (were) ... lack of premises to rehearse, lack of comparable back up that is afforded to equivalent native British groups, lack of acceptance within the arts structure (Khan, 1976, cited in Hingorani, 2010, p. 4). From this it is apparent hat earlier on even though the Indian theatre community were producing great plays they still had to work and overcome the barrier of not having any help, support or encouragement from the mainstream British theatre industries and arts councils. These boundaries all lead up to Tara Arts Theatre Company. The birth of Tara Arts was created when a male Asian youth called Gurdip Singh Chaggar was killed in a racial responsive attack. This took place in London on 4 June 1976. (Hingorani, 2010, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Holocaust was a mass genocide of the European Jewish people caused by Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The destruction of the Jews began in Germany and eventually hatred towards Jews was spread all over the world. Over 6 million Jewsdied in the Holocaustand constantly people were injured. The central idea of the Holocaust was that it had a negative impact on most people who were involved. The theme of the Holocaust is all people should be treated fairly and humanely. During the Holocaust, Jews were treated unfairly and the genocide had a negative impact on the people involved. The Devil s Arithmetic portrays the theme and central idea of the Holocaust. In The Devil s Arithmetic, a technique used is foreshadowing. Hannah, the main character says, I m tired of remembering. I don t want to (Yolen 3). This illuminates how the book prepares to let Hannah know how important it is to remember the Holocaust and how important it was to remember all who had died. It is important to think about how unfair the Jewish people were treated and how their whole lives were negatively affected. Another technique used was putting a fictional character, Grandpa Will, who had gone slightly mad from being a part of the camps and the Holocaust in the story to show how bad the genocide affects its victims. • 16. Positive And Negative Impact Of Mexico When people think of Mexico, they may think of south of the border resorts, margaritas from local restaurants, or mariachi bands. Drug cartels, human trafficking, or stereotypical comments made by influential Americans may also come to mind. A country which has fought and earned its rights to economy, religion, and democracy may not even be considered when the United Mexican States is thought of. Although much work remains to be done, todays Mexicois home to a government democracy, strong religious values, a growing albeit slowly economy, and the strongest media system in Latin America. • 17. The Brain Is An Ever Elusive Thing The brain is an ever elusive thing. There are so many mysteries still waiting to be discovered or unlocked. Memory seemed an appropriate topic for this class as it is a necessity to completing it successfully. This research paper will explain how the brain uses synapses to store certain memories while others may be lost and how proteins play a major role in this process and could be the answer to solving memory problems in the future. To start, it is important to understand how memory storage occurs. After a series of experiments conducted from 1958 2000, by Dr. Eric R Kandel and numerous colleagues, using a radical reductionist approach, he found evidence for several theories. First, our research suggests that the cellular and molecular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on his first conclusion, when it comes to short term memories, synaptic connections in the brain are modified by small changes in proteins. Long term memories require that new proteins be formed, gene expression be stimulated and new connections be synthesized. Implicit memory is a type of memory in which previous experiences aid the performance of a task without conscious awareness of these previous experiences. Explicit memory is the conscious, intentional recollection of previous experiences and information. Storing of implicit and explicit memories can follow different processes. Different signaling is necessary when storing implicit memories vs. explicit memories in the short term. However, the storage of implicit and explicit memories in the long term, follows the same specific signaling pathway. Based on his second conclusion, different modularity transmitters are used depending on which type of learning you are engaged in. These transmitters act in several different ways. They can either activate, regulate, or mediate. If they activate, they trigger the enzyme kinase, which then reports to the nucleus to aid in the growth of neurons and long term memory. If they regulate, they monitor protein synthesis that is required in order to stabilize the synapses for long term storage. Finally, mediation is the least understood process. What is known, is that it is necessary in recollecting specific memories and memory production. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bowen and Lawler (1992), argue practices that empower such as providing organizational information to employee, bureaucratic control reduction and increased self power all helps to increase employee motivation. French and Raven (1959) add that motivation is a characteristic that makes one want to do or carryout a task willingly without being directed. Leadership is an important role in life and an even more important role in the success of a nurse. To be a leader one must be creative. Creativity results from engaging in surroundings to seek new possibilities. For the best outcome of reflection, and the use of creativity, one should be as impulsive as possible in recording thoughts and feelings. A mess of paper and ink surrounded me, but only one area was left organized. My sketchbook that I filled with meticulous work and effort for the past 30 days stared back at me. Thirty days of work filled the sketchbook to the brim, both the good and bad. I finally finished the final piece I had completed InkTober. InkTober is a social media phenomenon that took the artist world by storm. For every day of October, you are to make one drawing that incorporates ink in its media. I admittedly favored one series, Love Live!, over the others, but I was grateful for the inspiration. Some drawings I practiced perspective and colors, like the first and fourth day respectively, others I tested styles of shading and texture. Going from a pencil sketch, to simple lining, and finally to detailed inking was a fulfilling experience. I would finish inking the drawing for the day and quickly sketch an outline for the following day in pencil. This schedule was helpful and time efficient since the most time consuming part of drawing is figuring out what to draw and how to start it. However, I could only do this due to the leniency of my school schedule and sparse amount of homework at that time. So when work started picking up at school two weeks into October, it became a struggle to finish one day s drawing, not to mention preparing for the following days. The output and quality of my art in the middle of the month took a drop as I began studying for tests, in class writings, and the PSAT. It was at this time that Inktober became a real challenge. Not only does the title have symbolic meaning but also the names of the female characters are also symbolic. Only the men receive a first name in Trifles, while the play refers to the women by their husbands last names. The role that society has cast them in is one that is defined by their husbands. Blake does not simply stop with describing the nurse as a person who sees the world as inherently fair. In order to make his ultimate point, Blake has to show the development of that nurse from a person with naГЇve exuberance to a person who has been withered by experience. This is why, when the reader sees the nurse again in Songs of Experience, they see a completely different picture. • 50. Impact Of Immigration Reform In The 1920s-1960s The period of 1920 1970 represented a period of numerous competing immigration policies and a major debate about whether or not to reform immigration. Eventually, the reformers won the debate and the immigration reform that happened during the 1920s 1960s were consistent with American identity. Specifically, the reframing Asians as model minorities, the immigration reform policies that happened, and the allowance of Mexican immigration into the U.S shifted American identity, from as an all white country to a multicultural society, from restrictive on immigration to expansive on immigration and finally from a restrictive country to a more democratic country. The immigration reform policies that happened during the 1920s 1960s shifted American identity for several reasons. First, according to the article Strangers in Cold War America: The Modern Presidency, Committee Barons and Postwar Immigration Politics by Daniel J Tiechnor, pro immigration activists advocated that America no longer exclude Chinese immigrants and offer them 100 visa slots. ( Tiechnor, 177). Therefore, America is perceived to be diverse in this manner by no longer excluding Chinese. This action shifted American identity from an all white country to a diverse country.
