• Complete with simple past or present perfect
1) The police ………(arrive) 5 minutes after the alarm………
( go off) but by that time the thieves ……..(go).
The instruction is sufficient. But it is better to write “
Complete the sentence with simple past or past perfect
form of the verbs.”
• Choose the correct modal or modal form to fit the sentence.
1) I didn’t feel very well yesterday. I ..... eat
a) cannot
b) couldn’t
c) mustn’t
d) sholdn’t
The instruction is confusing. Because any student can be
confused with “modal and modal form”. Instead, it can be
written only “modal”.
Going to - Questions
Change the sentences below into questions. Don't forget to put a question
mark at the end of the question.
Example:
Frank and Rohan are going to see him tomorrow.
Are Frank and Rohan going to see him tomorrow?
1.Ellen and Harry are going to watch TV tonight.
2.We're going to go to the dentist's next week.
3.She's going to have a party for her birthday.
4.I'm going to eat that cake.
5.Bill's going to wear a suit to the wedding.
6.Ann's going to make a sandwich for dinner.
7.It's going to rain soon.
8.You're going to phone Phil tomorrow.
9.We're going to take an umbrella.
10.I'm going to stay at home tonight.
Instruction for converting this positive sentence to question
sentence is quite sufficient. This sentence is supported with an
sample sentence for understanding.
• Type the correct answer in the boxes
below. (d/ed/ied)
1-) I (walk) to work last week.
2.He (study) computers for five years.
3.They (arrive) late for the party.
4.We (marry) in a church.
5.It (end) at 6 pm.
This instruction is not adequate. It can be “ Write
the correct form of regular form of past tense”.
• Use the adjectives in either the comparative or the
superlative form.
Late-young-young-cheap-fast-hard-tall-exciting-long-old
• 1. The movie lasted ---- it was expected.
• 2. I find detective stories ---- than any other ones.
• 3. Steve was much ---- any of his classmates.
• 4. Although she looks younger, she is ---- of the two.
• 5. We could barely catch ---- train to London.
The instruction is very clear.
Choose the true and insert the blank!
• I am very exausted so I……sleep immediately.
a) can
b) shall
c) ought to
d) may
e) might
The instruction is not sufficient because the meaning is
ambiguous. In the options, we can use at least 3 options. So
the instruction can be “ Choose the best answer and insert the
blank!”
• Fill in the blanks with the correct option.
• While I…......to study lesson, my friend …… me for going out.
a) was starting/called
b) started/calling
c) started/called
d) have started/has called
e) had started/called
The instruction is adequate and clear.
A) Complete the following exercise with comparative adjectives /
adverbs. Use than where necessary.
big-crowded-early-easily-high-important-interested-peaceful-reliable-serious-
simple-thin
1. I was feeling tired last night, so I went to bed usual.
2. I'd like to have a car. The one I've got keeps breaking down.
3. Unfortunately her illness was we thought at first.
4. You look . Have you lost weight?
5. I want a flat. We don't have enough space here.
The instruction is quite adequate and clear.
• Complete the exercise with adjective or adverb
form. (Good vs Well)
1. I play tennis but I'm not very ……..
2. Your exam results were very ……...
3. You did very in your exams………...
4. The weather was very while we were on holiday…….
5. I didn't sleep very last night……….
The instruction is very clear.

  • 2. • Complete with simple past or present perfect 1) The police ………(arrive) 5 minutes after the alarm……… ( go off) but by that time the thieves ……..(go). The instruction is sufficient. But it is better to write “ Complete the sentence with simple past or past perfect form of the verbs.”
  • 3. • Choose the correct modal or modal form to fit the sentence. 1) I didn’t feel very well yesterday. I ..... eat a) cannot b) couldn’t c) mustn’t d) sholdn’t The instruction is confusing. Because any student can be confused with “modal and modal form”. Instead, it can be written only “modal”.
  • 4. Going to - Questions Change the sentences below into questions. Don't forget to put a question mark at the end of the question. Example: Frank and Rohan are going to see him tomorrow. Instruction for converting this positive sentence to question sentence is quite sufficient. This sentence is supported with an sample sentence for understanding.
