Twenty three years’ experience in global assignments spanning marketing
leadership, strategic category business development, product and channel
marketing and sales management. A global leader with a bias for action
and delivering results from diverse teams in U.S., Canada and Europe.
In his last role as the Vice President of Marketing for the Personal Care
Division of SCA in North America (based in Philadelphia), Spencer drove
the growth opportunities for the division by establishing long-term winning strategies for the
TENA® incontinence care brand. He led a talented team of U.S. and Canadian marketing
professionals with responsibilities for building customer and consumer insights, managing the
TENA® brand strategy, product innovation and development, communications towards both
business-to-consumer and business-to-business audiences and overall return on investment.
Through Spencer’s work, a clear and unique “go-to-market” approach was established for
TENA® in North America.
Prior to leading the North America Marketing Group, Spencer worked within SCA’s global
strategic category team (based in Gothenberg, Sweden). His responsibilities involved
evaluating opportunities and developing business solutions for the company in Healthcare
settings around the world.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Spencer started his career holding numerous Sales and
Marketing management positions within SCA’s U.K. operations.
Spencer was a board member of the U.S. Healthcare Industry Distributors Association
Educational Foundation (HEF) in 2010, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing
(MCIM), obtaining his graduate specialization in marketing in 1995 and his Bachelor of Sciences
degree in Biological Sciences in 1985.
Spencer is seeking a senior marketing or business development role where he can blend his
entrepreneurial spirit with corporate expertise and his effectiveness in team leadership to
implement market strategies that result in return on investment, increased revenue and market
share. A company that has a culture of innovation, is mission-driven and has a value
proposition based on a consultative sales environment is best suited to his skills. Preferred
industries would be in healthcare, professional services or consumer packaged goods.
